Absolutely horrible service. Do not order for delivery. Food arrived late and cold. Very disappointing because I confirmed my food order at 8am, they have a cut off time for 10am. Food was suppose to arrive at 12:55pm. Arrived after 1pm so I missed my lunch break.

Google
Friendly staff, very clear menu options. The portion was very generous for the basic meal (3 pieces of chicken strip) with sweet potato fries. Very organized counter and the way to deliver the food. We look forward to the future revisit of the place!

Mark Sutt

Google
Had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and both were soo good. The sweet potato fries were just amazing though, definitely worth writing home about.

Google
Currently eating my food (4 tofu tenders and fries with green beans, that they charged me an additional $2 for) I am 3 bites in and I want to take this whole box back to the counter and toss it back. SMH this food is HORRIBLE. The sauce they toss the +$2 green beans in is curdled and the fries are nothing more than an OILY heap of potatoes. There are plenty of food stalls here in this location PLEASE VISIT SOME PLACE ELSE!!! I won’t even attempt to speak on the front counter service. $13 wasted😒

Google
3 piece PONKO chicken with OG Sauce + Fries was hot and delicious. I would’ve put more salt on the fries but that’s just me. The batter on the Japanese-American style tenders made it juicy with a light crunch. Tasted like there was a plenty of Sesame oil. Carrot-cake was soooo moist and yummy. I’d love to try this again when I visit. 😮‍💨🔥

Google
They have juicy chicken here. Come here if you like chicken tenders but the breading is lighter. Get the spicy sauce on that ponko chicken too for more flavor. The sides are solid too.

Google
This is my favorite dining area in the market. The chicken is extremely flavorful and crunchy - my wife and I have never had a bad experience. Definitely try it out! I get the 3 piece chicken plate with fries and a cucumber salad!

Google
Great fast food! Service was good and it’s so easy to stop by and get tasty food. The original chicken is soft fried and flavorful!

Yelp
Scrumptious!! Service was awesome and food was great! Everything was fried and seasoned to perfection. I wasn't expecting the patty to be made of vegetables, I assumed it was soy based. I really enjoyed my food and would love to eat here again.

Shahara L.

Yelp
My tofu taco should have been with slaw on top. You tell me if you see slaw. Enough said!!!!! Plus my fries were cold. No to go napkins I was told to grab some from table where people were eating. Invest in to go napkins !!!!

Kayla T.

Yelp
Food was very tasty, I got the bowl. With fries and coleslaw. Spicy. Service was quick only took a few minutes to get my order after placing it at the register. Ambiance was okay, it was more in the open. Only things is I wish the tenders were bigger.

Yelp
This was my first time eating at the Marietta Square Market, and I was somewhat overwhelmed with choices when I arrived. I stuck to my guns and settled on Ponko chicken after seeing them featured on an episode of Atlanta Eats. I went with the 3 tenders tossed in OG sauce, fries and rice. It truthfully got better with every bite. I wasn't blown away with my first taste of the chicken, but it got more flavorful as I continued with the meal. The tender absorbed the sauce, and stilled the crisp crunch ( which is my favorite part of a chicken tender). The fries were very crisp, and being a pretty plain Jane eater, I really enjoyed the rice as well. It'll be hard to make a selection on where to eat next time I visit the Marietta Square Market, but Ponko Chicken definitely was a solid choice.

Yelp
PONKO Chicken is popping up all over the metro area and will have 9 locations by the end of 2022...this particular location sits inside of the Marietta Square Market and is placed right off the main lobby across from Forno and next to Lucky's. PONKO is all about those American Chicken Tenders with a Japanese twist or touch. The menu, while limited, is full of flavor and is heavy on tenders. They have achieved a lighter and crispier tender in my opinion with the breading used and the fact that they fry in rice bran oil instead of the other commonly used oils of canola and corn. The most popular way to enjoy PONKO is through a plate, which comes with your choice of protein, two sides and a dipping sauce. I go this route on occasion getting the OG tenders sided with the house fries and those delish green beans and you can never go wrong with the OG sauce, but that spicy hits right too! In addition to the plate, I have enjoyed the taco...that jalapeno crema is perfection! If you are looking for dessert, while I have never tried, their fresh baked cookies and those cakecups look like they would be the perfect ending to a good meal. Personally I normally save my dessert for the nearby bakery when at MSM, but I definitely should scoop up a cakecup on my next visit! Overall, I enjoy this location of PONKO. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is always tasty and served with relative quickness, so no issues...only tasty chicken!

Yelp
I dined at the PONKO Chicken that is located in the Marietta Square Market food court. I came here with high expectations from what I've heard from others. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed. I ordered the 5 piece Ponko Chicken and the first thing I noticed was that the sizes are quite small for the price. Secondly, I was hoping to try the Ponko Pickles, but I was told that they were out of pickles, so that was a little disappointing. I ended up getting the fries as my side. They were ok, but nothing special. Overall, I thought the flavor of the chicken was nice. But it seems a little overpriced for what you get and I was unable to try the side I was hoping to try.

Yelp
The BBQ Tenders were the best I've had. The fries were awesome, it was just good! We ordered through UberEats and realized we were out of ketchup, to my surprise there was plenty in the bag. They did not miss! Highly Recommended! Going to try the hot ones next.

Jen W.

Yelp
Stopped by to get dessert and the young man at the register was so friendly and told me and my friend about the different flavors of cookies and cakes they had that day. We went with the carrot cake and WOWWW. The best I've ever had! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 10 out 10 hands down! $5 per cup. Well worth it!

Yelp
I love PONKO! Anytime I get a chance to get PONKO, I take it. So when I found myself in Marietta Square Market for lunch, the decision was easy. I marched right up their stall, which was easy to find. The staff was pleasant and greeted me. I ordered my go-to, tofu tenders plate with OG sauce and the brown rice and green beans for my two sides. My order was ready in under ten minutes. Everything came out hot and prepared consistent with other PONKOs. PONKO's tofu tenders are bomb and are the closest I can get to their amazing chicken tenders, which I've had many, many times before I gave up meat. The brown rice, which is a Japanese sticky rice and the green beans with miso tahini complement the OG tenders really well. All the sides are flavorful and have generous portions. Can't go wrong with PONKO!

Keren P.

Yelp
Amazing food, guy working there was great, location was awesome and cool. I had the 6 piece tofu tenders and they were amazing and so crispy.

Esther K.

Yelp
Ponko, where have you been all my life? Yes, it's just chicken tenders with panko on the outside but man...PONKO Chicken took it next level. The chicken was moist and tender and the panko breading was perfect per bite. The staff was helpful, friendly, and patient during my recent visit. Also, provided popular recommendations when asked "what's the best thing to order." Definitely get some hot sauce on the side of you want a little kick. The tea/lemonade options are good. They also give you one free refill on them which was an awesome perk. It's a bit on the pricy side when you see the amount that comes with your order (3 tenders) but it was definitely still filling.

Yelp
My date was raving about this place when I mentioned the chicken places I liked. So we opted to check it out, bc my chicken radar was fully triggered. PONKO resides inside the Marietta Market Square. This place reminds me of Ponce City Market but smaller scale. However, they clearly have lots of options in here, including a full bar area (will have to do separate review on this space). We ordered the PONKO Chicken, PONKO tofu and side of rice, sweet potato fries & salad. It wasn't until my first bite, that I realized how right she was about the chicken here. Probably the second best chicken I've had ever, EVER. South City Kitchen would just barely beat them out. The breading they used on the chicken, the sauce and the tenderness were all perfect. A very sweet, soy-like sauce to it. The tofu was the best I've had. It looked like little French toast dippers you'd see at Burger King. Wow! Let's be honest here, you don't need any additional sauce for the chicken or tofu. I'm a condiment king, so that's saying a lot. The sides were good too, but you come here for the chicken ... that chicken is your entree and dessert all rolled into one. So glad this place was brought to my attention and hope to see more locations around town!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
5 stars! Had Ponko chicken with FOODA. I was clearly a first timer and the employee made a great recommendation. I told him that I was starving and even questioned if the 3 chicken sticks would be filling. Let me just say that the chicken is delicious and 3 pieces are more than enough. The sticky rice was perfect with a hint of something sweet. Enjoyed the cucumbers on top of the rice too. I have never bragged on potato salad, however it was really good...like bbq potato salad good!! Highly recommend!!

Valerie A. R.

Yelp
Yummy yummmy chicken and fries and great prices too. Need more locations hhhhhhbbhhnjjjnnnnn

Ben G.

Yelp
The service here has always left a lot to be desired. But the food has always been good... until recently. A salad I ordered last week had a few pieces of old, brown romaine lettuce. I tried again today. The lettuce was obviously expired and the carrots had taken the form of a slimy mush. It was inedible and I returned everything for a refund. I like the other locations of Ponko a lot, but I will never return to this one.

Lavitta K.

Yelp
I was so disappointed when I tasted my chicken it was cold. Not busy at all!! Brown rice had a fishy taste too. Vegetables was great!! Probably won't return cause I'm picky!!

Denise G.

Yelp
I was about to pass this place by to check out Lucky's next door - but the young man working the counter was just so friendly and engaging, I had to stop. After a brief chat about my recycled handbag - I placed an order for the panko-coated french fries - hoping that they would stand up well to reheating later. (I had already stopped at Grand Champion and Just LoafN). I sampled a few and though not crispy - they were tasty. I oven-heated the fries about 4 hours after purchasing and they were still quite good. My fellow carnivores actually liked these fries best among everything I brought home from my Marietta Food Market trek. I'll definitely stop by again to try more of their offerings. PS - I get that PONKO is a play on the panko-bread crumb thing - but why PONKO and not simply PANKO. I checked out their website - but other than some press kit info and testimonials - I couldn't find any information on the 'Story' tab. They cook in rice bran oil which I had no idea was even a thing!

Yelp
PONKO Chicken is the latest and newest food stand in Marietta Square Market (as of Jan 2019). It's basically a fast-casual chicken place with Asian influences The menu consist of various chicken dishes like plates (3 pc or 5 pc with 2 sides), sandwiches, tacos, salads, and more. The chicken in breaded, in probably panko breadcrumbs (hence its name) and comes with 3 different flavors: OG, spicy, and BBQ. I tried their 3 piece plate. My sides were rice and sweet potato fries, which cost extra $1 with the plate. For the flavor, I tried all 3. You can mix and match flavors to your liking. The chicken was boneless chicken tenders. They were juicy and crispy. But I didn't like any of the sauces. I guess if I had to choose my favorite sauce, it was the spicy one. But honestly I didn't think any of the sauces tasted good. But they know how to make a good, basic chicken tender though. Why was the sauce bad? I don't know. With its Asian influence, I was expecting some fancy Asian flavors. It needed more umami or whatnot. But it tasted like cheap bbq sauces from fast food places. Oh well. For the side, the rice was just rice with some sauce drizzled on top. The sweet potato fries were your standard sweet potato fries. I wasn't too impressed with the sides I got either. The portions were good. A male adult can be satisfied with a 3 pc and 2 sides plate. If you're really hungry though, 5 pieces might be a good option. After you order, they take your name and you wait for them to call it out. You have to stay near the PONKO chicken stand. They don't have a mic or anything to announce it. So don't go looking for a table. Stay in the vicinity until your food arrives. It's a bit inconvenient to me.

Yelp
It's exactly what I've come to expect from Ponko's‼ The chicken is just as tasty as its other locations. This is my second visit & I'm glad Ponko's is now apart of the Cobb county suburbs, since I could only get it in the city during work. Now I can explore their menu more& give those highly recommended tacos a try. I'm still stuck on Ponko's chicken plate. It's a delicious combination of sticky rice, crispy fries, & deliciously flavored chicken fingers. Can't go wrong with this spot

Corey H.

Yelp
So yummy! I always get the spicy chicken tenders with fries, green beans, and jalapeño crema sauce on the side. The regular sauce is delicious as well! This is like Asian Zaxby's on crack lol. Soooooo good! The guy remembers me by my order at this point

Alex W.

Yelp
The chicken and house chips are really good and the fries are amazing. Everything is well seasoned and good price. I spent 15 dollars and couldn't finish it all. The proportions are also really good as they give you lot of fries and the chicken is very tasty.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try PONKO Chicken for the first time tonight, picking it up on the way home. We had heard great things and were very excited. The first hiccup was they were out of tofu, which was what I had been planning on trying. I had to pick something else, so I choose the salad meal. My husband got the 5 pc PONKO chicken plate w/ green beans and potato salad. Total: $21+tax. Expensive, but hopefully worth it. Wrong. Once home, we opened up our order to find that we had received a very browned side salad (without the wontons), and 5 pc PONKO chicken and green beans. No potato salad. No receipt. The chicken was... meh. The salad looked past its expiration date. The potato salad completely missing. The only thing remotely good was the green beans. We were jipped out of at least $7 and the food was not even very good. It will be a long time, if ever, that we return.

Eric B.

Yelp
Ordered my food over an hour before they close, dasher was there waiting for the food, then they canceled the order 40 min before close. I called and asked why and if I could just come pick it up. Placed me on hold for 8 minutes, then came back and said they're packing up the kitchen. Complete waste of time.

Sara S.

Yelp
Nice place for chicken lovers recently opened. This place is located inside the Marietta square market. You need to order, pick up your food and find a place to sit. On the day of my visit the place was packed with no seating space left. I ordered the basic which comes with fried chicken tenders and fries/ rice. I opted for Fries and they were decent however I found their chicken a little too sweet for my taste, though the chicken was hot and juicy.

Matt G.

Yelp
Ponko chicken was delicious! I had the chicken sandwich with OG sauce and a side of rice. The chicken was crispy and juicy so good. The sauce was a little on the salty side which is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star review. The bun the sandwich was made on was amazing! It was chewy and soft with a slight sweetness to it. Very good!!The rice was delicious also.

Aaron P.

Yelp
We had a great time trying Ponko Chicken for the first time over the Christmas holidays. The chicken was crispy and sweet and the fries and rice were perfect sides. Carb overload so you fill up fast but so delicious. We highly recommend dipping your fries in their ranch dressing. Yelp
First let me start by saying the customer service at this location was outstanding. I had several phone calls with Caitlin the manager there and was pleased every time. I ordered online through a 3rd party service and had some adjustments to make to the order. Unfortunately, the phone lines were down but I was able to get Caitlins phone number where she so easily adjusted my order( several times) and left me at ease. The food was delicious! I ordered a ton of tenders in chicken and tofu and lots of fries for a hungry bridal party to feast on back at the hotel after the reception. It was a hit for the whole group! Everyone was thrilled to enjoy the food and also wanted to bathe in the Buttermilk Ranch (it's that good). Ponko has become a delicious go-to meal for my friends and I. I highly recommend, especially the tofu tenders!!

Marie M.

Yelp
This place rocks! Seriously SO good! I ordered spicy ponko chicken taco with the fixins'. I also ordered a side of fries. The price for a very satisfying meal was 6.89! That's right! Not even $7. The chicken pretty much went from end to emd of the taco, so nice size. The spicyness and crispiness was just right! Cooked to perfection. The fries were bountiful and well seasoned. The only reason I gave them 4 stars was because I felt the fries were a little too greasy and not as crunchy as they should be. Fee like they couldve been in there for one more minute. But overall, great food at a great price!

Steve H.

Yelp
Great Food Great Service! What more can you ask for? Do yourself a favor and go have your new Favorite chicken meal!

Yelp
One of the best food places I've been to I usually get the ponko chicken tenders with fries and rice it is so good

Robin W.

Yelp
We've eaten at this place several times and love their salad with tofu... My wife and I are vegetarian and have been for years. We ordered from them through Uber Eats for dinner tonight and we're very disappointed to find we were brought chicken salads... not the tofu that we ordered. We ordered dinner, paid for it, tipped the driver, only to find out we have a dinner we cannot eat... I would give ponko and Uber eats zero stars if that were an option. Horrible customer service... Uber did nothing to remedy the situation and we tried calling Ponko, and got a very rude person on the phone. Now we are stuck with food we cannot eat. We will not be eating there again.

Yelp
Probably my favorite fast dining place right now, I get the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. It comes wit slaw and a jalapeño Mayo that is really good. Also the give you a side of spicy sauce and a ranch sauce. I dip my fries in the spicy sauce. It's a food hall that has open seating like the food court at the mall

Ginette O.

Yelp
These crispy fried chicken tenders in that sweet glaze are sooo yum! These crispy, crispy fries are steal-able! Can't go wrong with PONKO!

Jin S.

Yelp
My husband was looking forward to Ponko's to open. He got the three fried chicken tenders and fries. They were pretty good. There chicken was crispy. It seems to be slightly sweet. I look forward to trying more items from their menu.

Haley C.

Yelp
Came to the Marietta Market last week to get out of the house, and tried Ponko Chicken for the first time! Would definitely recommend! Paired well with the side of Pickles and Fries (so good) ate outside with our pup. Great experience!

Kelly S.

Yelp
I love ponko! They are consistently delicious and have great service! I highly recommend them and will continue to return!

Jen C.

Yelp
Stopped here on our way driving down to Florida. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. I even ordered extra to put in our cooler for when we got here to have for dinner! Can't wait to stop on out eat back!

Chris H.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. I've been twice now. Had the chicken tenders 1st time and my wife had the tacos. Both were incredible. Glad they are in the area. Parking can be a pain in the a** sometimes but overall good food.

W.D. S.

Yelp
PONKO Chicken has done it once again! The Marietta Square Market location just opened and all I can say is that it's fantastic. From the "OG" chicken tenders to the coleslaw, everything was phenomenal. The ordering process is super easy and the food comes out hot and quick. I can't wait to see where they open other locations in the Atlanta area.

Cindy P.

Yelp
The chicken is GREAT! But the green beans cost extra, like 2 bucks? And they're terrible!!! Soggy tasteless and extremely mediocre. Too bad!! Never known an Asian place to mess up green beans, but I guess this is fusion and the fries I got were very very soggy and mealy(??) like the potatoes were so gross in texture and I am a fry LOVER. anyway I go back for the chicken and ranch sauce. You don't HAVE to wait around for your order. Go get a Thai tea and Tom kha soup from the Thai place and find a seat, your food will be waiting for you when you swing back.

Bryan A.

Yelp
The food is unbelievably delicious and the atmosphere is the best! Very highly recommended this location to anyone.

John M.

Yelp
Great food! I was so impressed with how juicy their chicken is. BBQ and hot are the best flavors but the ponko is also very good. Only downfall is that the ranch is way too watery. Otherwise amazing restaurant!

Matt P.

Yelp
I love Ponko, and have eaten here for years. I love that this new location is in Marietta as it is way closer to me. The first time I ate here it was awesome, but I can't say the same about this second visit. Me and my friends came and our chicken tenders were overdone and hard (my fork couldn't go through the chicken!). My friend didn't finish hers because of this. And also, the OG sauce was not the same. It was thick and tasted very salty... I am a HUGE ponko fan and I am only writing this because I want this location to become better. Although I didn't enjoy my food this time, I will continue eating here because I know how good it CAN be and it's truly my favorite chicken place.
