Tyler Wolff of Ponte is the MICHELIN Guide Florida 2025 Exceptional Cocktails Award Winner

"Guest-forward and elevated, this Tampa spot showcases a radical drink menu split down the middle with parallel classic and modern takes, led by Beverage Director and Sommelier Tyler Wolff, this year's MICHELIN Guide Florida Exceptional Cocktails Award winner. Tweaks are clever enough to keep favorites familiar yet boundary-pushing: an old fashioned built on Suntory Toki brings gentle smoke, kokuto sugar deepens caramelized nuttiness with black walnut bitters, and a touch of Amaro Montenegro replaces simple syrup for layered complexity; a cosmo can arrive 'singing' with lavender vodka and white cranberry juice. The team's ethos is to maintain the identity of a Manhattan, margarita, or old fashioned while making a considered twist. In this elevated setting, specialty ingredients also make an appearance, most notably a foie gras fat-washed WhistlePig rye cocktail, a hybrid of old fashioned and Manhattan accented with Averna, a hint of chocolate, and a kick of vermouth, whose aromatics lead and whose savory richness lingers long after the first sip; it's among the bar's most popular pours." - The MICHELIN Guide

This restaurant has been on our list for a while, heard great things, so we decided to hit it for a birthday dinner. Great atmosphere, modern, new with clean lines. Service was very good but not as great as I would expect for a restaurant of this level. Deeper knowledge of the menu, options and overall confidence from the server would have added more service value. Great modern old fashion version made well with Japanese whiskey. Apps were good, tartare and crab cake had great flavor and fresh along with the bread service and their options. The steaks were very good, along with the sea bass entrees. Loved the sides, asparagus and Brussels sprouts. Favorite side was their duck fried rice, outstanding. They also provided a sample of their mushroom soup, which was very good. We finished it off with a birthday mouse desert and their chocolate soufflé. I would most definitely return for another special moment. In the Tampa Bay area the quality does stand up there with the other high end restaurants.

Ponte Restaurant was the perfect choice for a special brunch and made our anniversary celebration feel truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely taken care of. We were warmly greeted with champagne, which set such a lovely tone for the entire experience. The food was absolutely stunning, both in presentation and flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and elevated. The French toast was outstanding and easily one of the best I have had, and the braised beef Benny was rich, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. You can really tell the kitchen pays attention to detail. Service throughout brunch was attentive, polished, and welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. It added to the feeling that this was a place that truly values hospitality. Parking was also very easy, with a free garage conveniently located nearby, which made the visit completely stress free. Overall, Ponte Restaurant is an exceptional spot for brunch and an ideal choice for celebrating a special occasion. Highly recommend

Google
Always a very upscale, beautiful experience at Ponte. So many good things on the menu like the crispy rice, Crudo, the ribeye Australian Wagyu, tuna tartare, I have no pictures of the Chilean Seabass, but it was amazing, and also the truffle salmon, beet salad, and foi grais, and the mushroom risotto. And the mushroom soup is very good as well. Things I’d pas on the Caesar salad and French onion soup. Excellent service and presentations. The food was amazing. My only comment is for the delay in drinks timeline wise.

Our experience at Ponte in Tampa was truly outstanding! We came as a family — while there weren’t specific kids’ dishes, the children were still able to enjoy plenty from the menu along with us. My sister has celiac, and the waitress immediately provided a gluten-free menu. The food came out quickly and was beautifully presented — almost too pretty to eat! Every dish was full of unique flavors that blended perfectly. We especially loved the truffle risotto and the burrata salad, both of which were outstanding. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the fish with truffle was equally delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant — such a fun and flavorful dining experience. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
I have enjoyed this restaurant before for dinner several times, but decided to try their new brunch menu. I am pleased to say it’s just as great as their dinner! The short rib & eggs was delicious — it’s similar to the dinner short rib entree. The chef’s omelette had a very nice texture and came with perfectly buttered toast. Both meals came with a crispy hash brown cake that was yummy. While I love Ponte for dinner, there was a lighter crowd for brunch, which made the atmosphere more quiet and relaxed. Would definitely recommend for a nice brunch or lunch. The service was excellent as always.

Google
Started with the crab cake, it was the best around, all crab no fillers. Mushroom soup was also pretty good. Filet minion was perfect except I ordered it with black truffle sauce, will not do that again, didn’t care for that sauce at all, too salty and tasted like brown gravy. Salmon was excellent and nice portion and probably the best she ever had. Our server was Lucy. Lucy was amazing, very informative about absolutely anything we asked and not afraid to give her honest opinion about anything on the menu. Bread guy was also a nice touch comes around with several types and explains what they are you can choose as many different breads as you like.

From the moment we first dined at this gem, we knew it was something special. The food and service have consistently been nothing short of amazing and truly impressive. I've enjoyed several meals here, but the Boneless Short Ribs have captured my heart. This dish is my absolute favorite dinner entrée, beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. Recently, the restaurant began offering brunch, and my curiosity piqued, my wife and I attended the very first weekend it was available. To say it was impressive would be an understatement – it was phenomenal and oh so tasty! So much so, that we couldn't resist returning the following weekend, this time bringing my daughter along. Needless to say, she was equally wowed by the experience. The food, service, and quality here are unforgettable. Every dish we've tried looked as incredible as it tasted, a true feast for the senses. The pictures I've taken barely do justice to the impeccable presentation, but it's the flavors that truly stand out, making us close our eyes and savor every scrumptious bite. We have enjoyed their Bananas Foster French Toast, Short Rib & Eggs and the Ponte Omelet. I can't recommend this fine dining experience enough. Whether you're here for a splendid dinner or to indulge in the newly introduced brunch, you're in for an exceptional treat. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy culinary excellence in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Google
It was super nice yeah super nice. Exact words from my beautiful girlfriend. We had the SeaBass, Oysters, Salmon, Panna Cotta, all were delicious and a great serving size. Especially the shoestring fries. The taste across the board you would expect from a Michelin Restaurant but the portions from a Texas roadhouse. (I mean this as a compliment) if you want amazing service ask for AJ. Professional and polite with great recommendations.

Yelp
Love this Michelin star restaurant The food is always an experience, the ambiance, the decor always a great choice for me This was a dinner to celebrate our anniversary and we have been back several times since. Valet parking is available as well as self parking Atmosphere is usually bustling but still a great spot for a romantic dinner or night with family/friends Service is excellent and I love how welcoming the front staff and management are upon arrival. Short rib is my personal favorite however I am not a fan of the Japanese style puree so I have opted for plainer version- still delicious fork tender and amazing flavor profile

Yelp
My friends and I dined here yesterday to celebrate a birthday. While the service started off a bit questionable, possibly due to how busy it was, it improved as the night went on. One thing that stood out was that when our entrees arrived, the server didn't clear our used appetizer plates. It's a small detail, but at a high-end restaurant, it felt noticeably out of place. Now onto the food. Overall, it was delicious, though not perfect. Highlights: The mushroom soup was absolutely phenomenal--rich, flavorful, and memorable. The bread platter was also a hit, especially the olive bread, which was fragrant and packed with flavor in every bite. The salmon wagyu was a favorite for the birthday boy, though I personally preferred the hamachi crudo and tuna tartare. Both were fresh, light, and beautifully presented. Entrees: The seabass was nicely cooked and paired well with the other elements on the plate, though the glaze leaned a bit too sweet for my taste. We learned after they they do have a different glaze thats not as sweet. Misses: The fried rice appetizer fell short for all of us. It was also overly sweet and lacked the savory depth we were expecting. I shared this feedback with our server, and to their credit, they comped the dish without us asking for one, which we really appreciated. Dessert: They kindly brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy, and surprised the rest of us with our own mini platters as well; a thoughtful and classy touch. Overall: Despite a few minor service hiccups and one dish that didn't land, we had a great time and enjoyed the overall experience. We're already considering making this our new go-to spot for elevated nights out.

Yelp
We went here on a Tuesday for my husband's early birthday celebration with friends. Valet is $5 but you can also park across the street behind Shake Shack. Staff were all very friendly and informative. Our waitress, Malia, was not only super friendly but also very attentive. One of the waiters comes around with a selection of complimentary breads. I was impressed with the selection and tried one of everything. My favorite was the mushroom roll and the cheese one. It comes with a side of whipped butter. N-A Tai - This was a BIG mocktail. It was pretty good and very satisfying. Mushroom Soup - This was highly spoken of by the reviews. I was hesitant because not all mushrooms sit well with my stomach and I DO NOT like truffle. I will try everything once though. The people of the Internet were right! This was very good sand they split the soup into two separate cups for us with I mentioned to Malia we were sharing. Salmon "Wagyu" - The crispy rice wasn't as crispy as the one from Sunda (nearby restaurant in midtown). It did fall apart, I believe maybe held together with a wagyu fat? I could be wrong. This was pretty good to taste. Chilean Sea Bass - This was so good! Highly recommend! I need a good fatty fish I am not a fan of most fishes. Calabrian Chicken - The chicken was seasoned beautifully. I would get again! Beef Wellington - This was an amazing fish. The fore gois made the inside very creamy. It was a nice touch! Chocolate Soufflé - I came here because I've never had soufflé before. It tasted like a very soft brownie and was topped with ice cream. It was a very nice mix. Chocolate Trifle - The presentation was cool, when they brought it out they put I believe cocoa nibs with dry ice on it. It tasted just as good too! My husband received a complimentary birthday dessert which looked like a ball of chocolate mousse with fruit filling inside. A chocolate happy birthday sign and a lot candle. At the very end, our waitress brought out more mini desserts! Bite sized chocolate, almond cookie, and chocolate chip cookie. Service charge of 15% is added to every bill. Whatever is on top goes to the waitress. We saw some people touring the kitchen. At the end we asked if we could tour too. It was cool! We got to walk through the pass (where dishes are inspected, finished, and served). I thought this was super cool. We got to chat with Chef William and he gave my husband a birthday gift! I was surprised, it just keeps getting better and better. It was a chocolate chip cookie. Highly recommend over all! I heard the Chef Chris Ponte usually comes in during the mornings. I may have to come again to potentially be able to see him in person!

Yelp
I first heard about Ponte Modern American through a buzz at work, as several colleagues raved about how incredible the food was. I soon discovered it was created by Chef Chris Ponte, the culinary mind behind Olivia and On Swann. He trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. I visited Ponte before their recent updates, including the addition of the Gramercy Bar. If you're planning to go, I highly recommend booking a reservation in the main dining room or at least having the Gramercy Bar as an option, about two weeks in advance on the Resy app. It fills up fast for the weekends. FOOD: 1. East Coast Oysters (4/5) - Served with traditional accoutrements. This half-dozen was incredibly fresh. Simple and clean, exactly what you want from oysters. 2. Mushroom Soup (5/5) - Wild mushroom | truffle crème | black trumpet dust. This was heavenly. Velvety smooth with bold, earthy flavors from the truffle and black trumpet dust. Easily one of the best mushroom soups I've had--comforting and refined. 3. Beef Wellington (5/5) - Filet mignon | prosciutto | mushroom duxelles | foie gras | red wine demi-glace. This was a standout. The server mentioned it's one of their most popular dishes, and it did not disappoint. The puff pastry was golden and flaky, encasing a tender, melt-in-your-mouth filet. Each component--from the savory duxelles to the rich demi-glace--was executed perfectly. 4. Complimentary Chocolate (4/5) - A simple but delightful finish to the meal. Just enough sweetness to round things out. Service was great. The staff was warm, attentive, and offered thoughtful recommendations. Everything was timed well and arrived promptly. Would I return? Definitely. I'm curious to experience the changes to the lounge area and explore the updated menu.

Yelp
Ponte's is really good cooking. I haven't been in over a year because I wasn't impressed the last 2 times I visited the restaurant; however, things have changed for the better. I love the new menu items and the tweaks made to existing dishes. We started with some East Coast Oysters (Irish Point). They were so fresh and delicious. We also had the lobster cappelleti as starter, which also phenomenal. For the mains, we had the Calabrian Chili Chicken and Short Rib. The Calabrian Chili Chicken was one of the best pan prepared chicken dishes I've ever had. The flavor profile was incredible. The wine list and desserts were also really good. I love the new lounge area. The restaurant definitely has a new feel that is less corporate than before, which is a great thing. All in all the new dining experience was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend Ponte's.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time! Ponte is a gorgeous modern, upscale restaurant in midtown featuring exquisite menu items. Our server Robin took fantastic care of my boyfriend and I, she made excellent recommendations and all of our food was outstanding. Highly recommend the short ribs and salmon wagyu! We will 10000% be back for more on our next date night.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. It was my 40th birthday dinner and everything was amazing. Our waitress Nicole provided excellent service and attention to detail. We had an amazing dinner, everything we tried was really good. At the end of our meal we got a tour for the kitchen and got a gift from the chef. Really loved our experience at Ponte and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Best meal I've had in Tampa. Bluefin tuna Tatar - The tuna was incredibly fresh, presentation was creative, and the flavors and textures made this the best tuna dish I've ever had. Calibrian Chicken - Spicy, juicy and pan fried. With a side of polenta this was a hearty excellent dish. Verlasso Salmon - The salmon was prepared perfectly and the truffle crust was exceptional. Yes the food is a 5+/5 The prices in my opinion are fare considering the quality and presentation of their food. I hope that new restaurants in Tampa attempt to emulate this quality. I've lived here for over 10 years and nothing comes close.

Yelp
We went to Ponte last night and everything was incredible. We sat in the lounge and had the warm bread service to start... so many different kinds of fresh, delicious bread. The baked oysters were garlicky, buttery, and hands-down the best I've ever had. The sticky ribs were fall-off-the-bone good. They had a delicious umami flavor with just enough sticky sauce. We also split the steak sandwich which was thick, super flavorful and cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce to pair with it. Our server was amazing! Really friendly, attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared. I'll definitely be back ASAP

Yelp
10/10 experience! This was our first time - for a birthday date night and it exceeded our expectations. Everything our waitress, katie, recommended was delectable. We started with the mushroom soup & Japanese Waygu. For our main entrees we had the Chilean sea bass & scallops and finished with carrot cake and the mousse. Not to mention, they have complimentary bread service with a bunch of different breads... since it was a birthday dinner we also got a tour of the kitchen & complimentary birthday present. We will definitely be coming back more often! Ponte was AMAZING!

Yelp
Upon checking in we were seated almost immediately because we had a reservation. The ambiance is elegant and everyone was dressed up. The server was really helpful with the allergies we listed when I placed the reservation and she knew how to course out the meal. The only thing I didn't like was the digital wine menu, it was cumbersome to use and I would have preferred a paper wine list. My friends and I had a great time and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, the presentation was excellent and the taste was fantastic! It was great showing my friends an upscale restaurant where all dishes were delicious!

Yelp
Midtown They put some money into the design Apparently the OG was in Clearwater, which I feel like I went to, but I just cannot recall. So on a whim, my husband and I decided let's give it a try. Made a reservation for the Gramercy lounge, offers the same food as the main dining area. Definitely like the lounge atmosphere we ended up arriving early. Our table wasn't ready so we bellied up to the bar. We ended up staying at the bar and eating there. Their drink menu is interesting. They have all your classic cocktails and their original version in the modern version. The modern version is PONTE's take on the OG . The paper plane modern was amazing and I really hate Jack Daniels The next winner was the bone marrow. A mix between fatty rich bone marrow with mushrooms and a lime Jell-O cube, which sounds weird and like it belongs in a drink, but it cut the fat and the richness of the marrow amazing. Next the mushroom soup, we were almost drawn to the French onion, but do not miss the mushroom soup beautifully with a Pinot Beet salad with flavorful, the least amazing thing we had We opted for the KC dry aged strip. This was flavored beautifully. It does not need any of the extra toppings or butters. Let the taste of the steak shine through nice seasoned outer edge. Very happy with this choice. We order the exotic mushrooms, which sadly did not come out with the steak. They were amazing. The amount of mushrooms we received was out of control. The dessert menu nothing really popped out at me sadly as I was really hoping to have dessert and a delicious dessert wine as that's our new kick This place surprise me it was delicious You're gonna spend some money here They also include automatic 15% gratuity, which is fine, they tell you all about it. I'll be told we dropped 278 This included two cocktails, and three glasses of wine

Yelp
We went to Ponte for our anniversary and it is delicious. It is clear that each dish was well thought out from flavors to plating. The service was impeccable and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We started with the Thai chili calamari- very good, perfectly crispy, Thai chili sauce had the perfect balance between spicy and sweet. We also got the steak tartare and it was very good. My husband got the chilean sea bass and wowwww. I do not even really care for fish but it was delicious!! I got the short rib and it was easily the best short rib dish I have ever had. Overall, great experience, we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My family and I decided to indulge in this establishment for my wife birthday. The reviews were good so we locked it in. The ambiance is very elegant and welcoming, the decor and settings were well thought of, the wine cellar great for pictures. Our waitress was superb, drinks were first thing in, the bread options are very delicious and fresh. For out entree we decided to share the Tomahawk Chop (50oz) our side options were the Mac+Cheese, Brussels, and the Yukon Potato Purree. I will mentioned it was a 45 minute wait for the Tomahawk for we asked for well done only because our children were with us. The wine was very delightful a great pair for dinner. The desserts were spectacular, the children indulge in the Falling Chocolate Souffle, my wife and I had the Panna Cotta. Once we all done we had the pleasure meeting the sous chef. It's a treat they do for birthday individuals. You'll spend some money here but well worth it. We will be back to try the rest of the menus entrees. Kudos to Ponte Modern American for showing us a great evening. When food taste that marvelous you know love is in the kitchen.

Yelp
This is bad I didn't review this spot sooner! My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner last August and it was a 6 star affair! From the food, service, sommelier and attention to detail, we can't wait to go back! This is definitely a cool, hip steakhouse where attire is hip and cool not dated (see Bern's). It's been so long I believe I had the SPLIT BONE RIBEYE with a few sides like carrots, street corn along with some Oysters to start. Trust me once you go here, you will def want to come back!! They do have valet! Bon appetite!!

Yelp
I came to Ponte for a birthday dinner and was definitely treated with a 5 star experience. there was a birthday card on the table upon arrival, the dining room was very upscale, and our server was attentive and extremely knowledgeable. we started with drinks - the cocktails were delicious, one of the best bees knees in town. we also ordered multiple appetizers and salads/soups - the burrata was fresh and bright, the rolls were AMAZING, bread service was excellent, both salads were very good, and the French onion soup could compete with Bern's for the best in town. for entrees, I had a wagyu ribeye which was a little disappointing for the $200 price tag. the steak was a bit overcooked / charred edges for my liking, not the melt in your mouth tenderness I expect from a ribeye. the sides were just okay - I think this is one area of improvement for ponte. the mashed potatoes are BUTTERY (the server warned this of this), and it is just way too rich and overpowering. the carrots and brussells were pretty good. the shishito peppers do not need to be on the menu, or at least moved to the appetizer section since they are fried. I was not a huge fan. I appreciated that even though it was a modern steakhouse there were multiple accommodations made for my vegetarian partner. the mushroom risotto was filling enough to be an entree, and she could enjoy most of our sides. my parents had the scallops and the filet - which they both really enjoyed. we ordered the chocolate soufflé for dessert, the restaurant graciously gave me a free cookie for my birthday. we also were given the chance to see the kitchen and meet the chef, which was a super cool experience. overall, I'd definitely recommend Ponte. it was a very nice special occasion with delicious food and drinks and incredible service.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal here! Not only were the dishes delicious but they were also served with some style. Loved the chicken dish which was perfectly seasoned and spicy. And if you love your bread like I do, you have to order the Parker Rolls served with truffle butter--they're insane good!

Yelp
I had one of the best meals I've ever had in Tampa at Ponte. Every single item (including drinks) was absolutely perfect. They have complimentary table side bread - you need to try the focaccia! The martinis are shaken and poured table side which is pretty neat. My favorite things I ate were the hamachi crudo and the short rib. Also, after dinner they bring you three little desserts - a chocolate bonbon, a cookie shooter and an earl gray tea cookie. The service was also phenomenal. Bill gave great suggestions and was attentive despite the restaurant being full. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Really fantastic and classy restaurant in the Midtown area of Tampa! I love the fresh innovative takes they have on classic dishes. Bread service was fantastic, with various types of bread. Loved the crusty exterior with a pillowy soft interior. The fresh whipped butter was light and flavorful. The Verlasso Salmon was delicious! Cooked to a perfect mid-rare temperature. Loved the plating of every dish that was presented. Definitely a special occasion restaurant with a fantastic staff. Will definitely come back in the future :)

Yelp
Ponte was AMAZING! We went to celebrate my husbands birthday; I. Are reservations about a month in advance. Valet was super easy and super close to the location. We were immediately sat and greeted by our server Jeremy. (If I could take him with me everywhere - I would! He not only knew the intricate details of EVERYTHING on the menu but he made sure we understood exactly what he was talking about. I had a French 75 traditional and it was exactly as Jeremy said. My husband had the modern margarita and it was delish. We had the complementary bread - fantastic display and the bread was top tier. Not your typical, brown, white. (Don't get me wrong I love the brown bread at CF, but THIS took it to another level. We also had the crab cake for an appetizer. I was BEYOND glad that my husband and son let me finish it because it was the perfect combination of fresh crab and lemon. We had the split bone ribeye and my son had the tomahawk pork chop. Both meats were melt in your mouth delicious. We also had the Mac and cheese (decent) and the duck rice. That duck rice was - there are no words to describe that deliciousness. My husband switched to the modern old fashion for his second drink and again, another home run. For once, the service, the decor, the food and the expectations went hand in hand! I can't wait to come back with friends.

Yelp
One of the top 3 restaurants I've dined at in the last 5 years. The service was great. Our server Maleah knew the answer to every question we had and made excellent recommendations for both drinks and food. I ordered the mushroom soup to start and it was so delicious that I wanted to lick the bowl clean. I had the verlasso salmon as my entree and that is now officially the best salmon I've ever had. The truffle crust is so good that I asked the waitress for the ingredients to try to make it myself. My guest ordered the boneless short ribs and said they were delicious. The restaurant is upscale and the staff bring great energy to the atmosphere. I cannot wait to return.

Yelp
This is an excellent place to go for a special occasion meal. I made reservations on Resy, and I noted that this was a wedding anniversary meal. I was seated promptly when I checked in (a few minutes late, sorry, post-Milton chaos!), and there was a nice note at the table. Shortly thereafter, the manager arrived with a bottle of champagne and poured half a glass for my husband and me. Those little details are precious. We had: the lobster cappelletti, the caesar salad, and the tomahawk chop for 2 (and a side of pommes puree). Everything was delicious. The lobster was sweet and mild, the pasta silky. The caesar was refreshing. The steak was nicely seared and so tender. It came with a cognac truffle sauce, and that was absolutely delicious. We also shared a nice Bordeaux, which was properly decanted. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake and the panna cotta. We were so stuffed, we ended up taking these home, but panna cotta is almost a breakfast food, right? But the desserts were delicious and helped us finish up our bottle of wine. The setting is divine, and the location is convenient. There's valet parking, but you can also self park anywhere in Midtown. I'd happily return and recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a little pampering while eating out.

Yelp
Ponte is a modern American restaurant located in Midtown. I had the pleasure of dining there twice now, once for a girls night and then again for a date night. Dinner service starts off strong with a great bread selection. The olive loaf with the butter is incredible. We had the steak tartar, which was very unique and had a modern twist. The Hamachi Crudo was a flavorful explosion and a must try. The French onion soup was 10/10. The modern version of the Cosmo was a beautiful lavender martini. I would highly recommend the bone in fillet with the potato purée and brussels sprouts. The waiter was not only personable and knowledgeable, but also very attentive.

Everything on the menu was absolutely amazing. The onion soup was so good. I was too full to try a dessert, but I would come back again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This place blew my expectations out of the water. For the quality and the amount of food that you receive, it's an incredible space. The service was phenomenal; our wait staff were anticipating our needs always. I got a wine that the list suggested and loved it. My mushroom risotto, Brussels sprouts, and shishito peppers were wonderful. They truly blew my expectations out of the water! I highly recommend this space.

Yelp
We came here 4 of us. Obviously had to have a reservation. We came in on a Tuesday night. You can park in the garage, definitely enough space for parking and they have a valet parking as well. Service was very nice, attentive and pleasant. Definitely very professional service. Ambience is modern and upscale. The area for seating is spacious, seating is comfortable and they also have a large bar seating area. They have a huge menu of wines and drinks including non alcoholic cocktails. I had non alcoholic mojito and it was great. They also have a huge wine selection. Food was very good, presented well and seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. Escargot was ok, I didn't like the dough it had on top, it was cooked well but I prefer traditional French escargot style. We had salad with orange and walnuts which was great and on a lighter side. They also have so many raw fish options and we had a few different appetizers which all were great. Crabcake was great and very crabby. For the main I ordered scallops and those were amazing. Cooked to perfection. It's a truly amazing restaurant, definitely top Tampa restaurant. It is more traditional American I would say and a little too heavy for my taste but I could appreciate the execution. Price wise is pricey but not outrageous, considering how great service, ambience and food.

Yelp
I recently dined at Ponte 5-29 for a fancy dinner date. It was my first time there, though my date had visited before with friends. The venue itself is beautiful--modern, clean, and upscale. Even the bathrooms match the vibe, which I always appreciate. The overall atmosphere was great, and the service stood out. Every staff member we interacted with was warm and kind, and that goes a long way. Shoutout to the bartender too--our drinks were solid. The bread service was a nice touch, offering focaccia, olive loaf, black truffle bread, and one other that didn't really stand out to me. We started with the colossal crab cake, which I'm happy to say was mostly crab and not filler--very well done. My date had the mushroom soup, which surprised me with how flavorful and smooth it was. I ordered the beet salad, and while it was fine, it didn't leave a big impression. For my main, I went with the Chilean sea bass. She originally just ordered the soup and mac & cheese, but when I mentioned I'd never tried beef Wellington before, she agreed to split it with me. The server mentioned how tricky it is to get Wellington right and that theirs was exceptional--something I've heard echoed by others too. Now here's where things got interesting. The sea bass itself was flavorful and well-cooked. However, the greens it was served on were incredibly salty--even for me, and I'm someone who normally loves salt. As for the beef Wellington: the meat was tender and cooked well, but the puff pastry overwhelmed the dish. I didn't taste any seasoning on the meat, and if there was prosciutto in it, I honestly couldn't tell. My date wanted to send it back, but I don't like wasting food, so I told her we'd just take it home and keep it on the bill. What I took away from the experience is this: the place looks great, and the service is excellent--but I won't be returning. I didn't even realize it was a Michelin-starred chef until my date mentioned it, but frankly, nothing we had felt worth the price. Maybe it's because of the Midtown location, or maybe they've toned down the flavors for the local crowd, but I expected more. I wouldn't go back on my own. Maybe for a celebration, and even then, I'd probably stick to the starters. I just can't justify spending $60 on sea bass with salty greens or $75+ on a Wellington that was just okay. Maybe it was an off night--there were a lot of people there--but I left feeling underwhelmed. At the end of the date, I told her our next fancy night out will be at Charley's, where the food is consistently excellent. I'm glad I tried Ponte 5-29, but I've been sharing my honest experience with friends who've asked about it. No shade to the servers or bartenders--they were fantastic--but I do hope Chef Chris Ponte gets some real feedback from regular diners like us. Who am I, at the end of the day? Just a random consumer hoping for a memorable meal. Wishing everyone the best--just consider your options if you're looking for flavor that matches the price tag.

Yelp
A delightful, romantic place with fantastic food! On an apparent mission to try every steak joint in town, we ventured to Ponte Modern American. I highly recommend making a reservation here, its not a huge place. It's also a classy place, so maybe wear long trousers or a nice dress. The drink menu is so interesting. Obviously they can make any drink you like with the full bar, but the special cocktail list is memorable for it's format. They have, say eight beverages on it. On one side is the 'classic' interpretation and on the other is the 'modern' version of it. We tried several. The French 75 was delightful indeed (but we did prefer the classic Paper Plane). For starters we had Himachi crudo and the steak tartare. We have steak tartare in a lot of places and this was one of my all-time favorite preparations. For mains we split a steak as we tend to do, and it was very good. Sides we chose the exotic mushrooms and corn. The Mushrooms were fantastic! The corn, it was not my favorite. It was a bold choice and they swung for the fences with the seasoning but it just didn't like my palate. Im sure some would love it. For dessert I had the cheesecake and it was THE BEST. It was everything I wanted in cheesecake. Perfect texture, flavor, tart and sweet. Bravo.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and was happy I chose this spot. This restaurant is very elegant looking and the service here is very nice. The food here is pretty pricey, but well worth it. The drinks are great as well. The bread options they give here to start are great. My favorite was the focaccia. To start, I ordered the Modern cosmo, and it was delicious! To eat, we ordered the Bone marrow and steak tartar trio. The steak trio was my fave. I didn't really care for the Bone marrow as there wasn't much you get from it, and it wasn't that amazing. The sauces were really the best part about it. We had also ordered soups. I ordered the mushroom soup, which was great, but had wished I ordered the French onion that my bf got because it was soooo tastey. For our entrees, my bf and I ordered the wagyu rib eye. It was such a tender steak and seasoned perfectly, I was in love! We also ordered the Brussels sprouts (delicious), the exotic mushrooms, and the lobster Gouda Mac which I have to say could have been better but was good. I do have to mention that the bday dessert you get is disappointing. When going to nice restaurants such as this one, I typically receive a better desert that is displayed very nicely. However here, it was just a small piece of some kind of vanilla cake. There was no presentation with this and it was very basic and felt very minimal. I was expecting more based on their presentations of their food in general too. The cookie they sent me home with was delicious though! All in all this place is great, and I would come back. Just maybe not when celebrating something big, because there are other places that will put out more of an effort.

Yelp
The service here is impeccable. It really was so stellar. The food was good, maybe not as good as I thought it might be. Tampa has a very vibrant food scene, so the bar is very high. And most cities this would be a crème de la crème, but in Tampa, you've got to be always on your game. Restaurant is furnished beautifully and as I said, the service was amazing . One thing not to miss is the soup, whatever the soup they're serving you need to get it.

Yelp
FIVE STARS. Ponte blew me away. Every single aspect was spectacular: *ambiance *attentive service (thanks, Katie C.!) *menu development *cocktail options (classic and modern options- yee!) We went for my bday and this restaurant has me putting Ponte in the lead for steaks in Tampa Bay. A carnivore since birth, I've tested the breadth of steakhouses in my lifetime. Ponte is making its way to #1 in my heart. We both had filets, mine with the cab butter and his with garlic butter. Add in an order of the Brussels, puree mashed, and the most impressive bread service /presentation... **CHEFS KISS** Dear god. So good. We each had a cocktail, French 75 & Paper Plane, both classic. Very very good!! We closed with the seasonal Offering of peach bread pudding with vanilla gelato. This part I could have skipped. Onto a kitchen tour and Chef Jo schooled us with smiles on the Ponte kitchen /meat ins and outs, a very cool experience. We were presented with a bowed box that was a cookie for home- HOLY. This thing was exceptionally good the next day with my leftovers!!! It was chocolate chip with a solid chocolate center and it was decadent. Every aspect of our visit was superb, straight down to the packaging for the leftovers. High class, gorgeous execution all around.

Yelp
We went here for my husband's birthday dinner, and it didn't disappoint!!! After we had to reschedule our original reservation due to the flu (which they generously did for us even though we were past the reschedule/cancelation window without any fee), we were excited to try this Tampa restaurant. The restaurant itself is beautiful, high ceilings with a sleek and elegant feel. Definitely dress a bit nicer if you're coming here, as that is the upscale vibe. We had a 7:30 reservation (made on Resy) and we're seated promptly. The service is excellent! Not only was our waiter incredibly friendly, but the restaurant had a whole service team to quickly attend to every need. No empty water cups here! I also loved that even though there was talented and impeccable service, it wasn't stuffy. I could tell our waiter was a genuinely good and fun person, and we enjoyed talking with him. He also steered us in the right direction when it came to appetizers, recommending we swap out one dish we ordered for another, and he was so right. So yes, the food!! It was incredible!! We started with the hamachi crudo and scallop ceviche. Both were outstanding, with fresh fish and amazingly flavorful sauce. Our waiter recommended the scallop ceviche, and while my husband was more inclined to get the tuna or salmon, we're so glad we listened to our waiter's advice. The scallop ceviche was insanely good!! Definitely, definitely get it! We also got the Parker house rolls, and while they were soft, fluffy, and delicious (with a honey glaze on top and served with truffle butter), the portion was a bit much for two people, and they also offered free bread service in lieu of the $10 rolls that looked really good. I'd say if you're coming with a group of 4 or more, the rolls are worth it, but if you're just two, save yourself the temptation of eating 5 rolls before dinner and just get a piece of bread through the regular bread service. Then on to dinner! My husband got the beef wellington and I got the grilled scallops. We had the shishito peppers and mashed potatoes on the side. The side portions are very generous! After the rolls, we didn't need the potatoes, although they were deliciously rich and creamy. The shishito peppers were AMAZING! Lightly tempura fried on the outside, but not too much so you could still taste the tender pepper underneath. The seasoning was great, too. Would definitely get these again! My scallops were perfectly cooked with a yummy seasoned crust on top. A light meal with some cirtus fruit to add to the depth of flavor. The portion size was perfect as at this point I was getting pretty full, but it is one of the lighter entrees, so keep this in mind. I'm not a huge steak fan, but my husband's beef wellington was amazing!! While one of the pricier options, the steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The flaky puff pastry wasn't overpowering, and there was a good steak-to-pastry ratio. We somehow squeezed in dessert--we had to, as we needed a birthday cake! We ordered the carrot cake which came deconstructed with an amazing presentation. As someone who loves the cake part of the carrot cake but isn't a huge fan of the cream cheese frosting, this was perfect!! I could eat the cake and graham cracker crust, even some of the ice cream on top, but avoid the dallops of cream cheese. The cake itself was so moist. One of the best desserts I've have in a long time and I'd absolutely get it again. We had an espresso martini along with the cake, and it was also delicious (sweet but not too sweet). Overall, an incredible and absolutely five star meal! Note that they include and automatic service charge of 15% to give to the entire attentive waitstaff team, but anything you give above that goes directly to the waiter. We'll be back!

Yelp
This should be five stars, but I just can't do it. You're known for steak you ought to be able to get the temperature right. I ordered my KC Strip for medium it was very well done. They offered to take it back and do it over. I ate 1/4 of it or so when I noticed the center of steak was not pink I and didn't want to be wasteful and only eat a 1/4 or so a new one. Flavor was on point, though. The mushroom soup is a signature must have. I could have eaten another bowl! Service: 5 Mushroom soup: 5 Mashed Potatoes: 5 Carrots: 4 Steak: 4 I have been more critical of other signature steakhouses that you pay a premium for and can't get temperature right, but I sense this was just a miss and they get it right more often than not. Had temperature been where it was supposed to be this would easily be a 5 star review. I was so satisfied at the end, if there was a wheelchair, I'd an asked to be rolled to my car.

Yelp
This summer, I took a friend here for their birthday. I had heard great things about the space, and it is sublime, so I wanted to try it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I was underwhelmed. I don't know if it was because of high expectations. Everything was good, but nothing was great besides the décor. The Hamachi Crudo, Short Rib, and desserts were all passable but less than I hoped for. Even the service was more standard than exceptional. For these reasons, it would not be my Tampa choice for a special occasion meal, but I will return to give it another fair shot. Next time I hope I get more personality with all this beauty.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner experience at Ponte! Booked a reservation online in advance as we were going for our anniversary. Upon arrival the hostess wished us a happy anniversary. At the table was a card. Shortly after being seated the manager came over with complimentary champagne for our special occasion. I actually don't drink alcohol so I only had a sip, but it was a very nice touch. I had a pina mocktail which was surprisingly spicy with jalapeño. I really enjoyed having a drink that didn't feel like over priced juice. There is complimentary bread service with 5 options (you can chose more than one) and they come around twice during the meal. I had a brioche roll and the focaccia, the texture was unbelievable! I wanted to take the whole tray! Our server Nathalie was phenomenal. Very professional with excellent knowledge of the menu. She made recommendations for each course and perfectly paced our meal. We had the burrata starter which was the right balance of creamy, salty, and citrus. I had the short rib entree. My husband had filet mignon. The meats were cooked to perfection. We got the brussel sprouts and mashed potato sides. The potatoes were wonderfully rich and buttery. We were so full but had to have dessert. We split the chocolate soufflé which came with vanilla bean gelato, well balanced sweet topping to an excellent meal. At the price point this would not be a regular spot for us but is a true fine dining experience for a special occasion.

Yelp
First visit here. Top notch service, white table cloth high end restaurant. Was a tremendous help with the menu. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The bread selection was terrific and repeatedly stopped by. The beet salad I couldn't get enough of. The goat cheese was a perfect pairing with the beets. The Short Ribs I highly suggest. Red wine demi glass took it over the top. Don't need a fork. The carrot cake was crazy great presentation and delicious. For sure a repeat visit.

Yelp
This is the Best restaurant I have been to in Tampa. From the minute you walk in you know it's gonna be amazing. The ambiance was welcoming and not stuffy like many other fine dining restaurants yet the service was superior to many other restaurants at this level in Tampa. The bread service was a very nice touch. We loved it all from the wine list to the menu and let's not forget the must have dessert. We are so much I'll try to remember the standouts: the bluefin tuna tartare appetizer was sublime, my steak with Garlic butter was perfect, my wife had the salmon which she is eager to have again, my friend had the sea bass and also can't wait to return. The dessert was a collapsing chocolate soufflé with vanilla gelato. Definitely our favorite dining experience!

Yelp
Great east coast oysters but extremely small and at $24 for 6 tiny oysters I feel a bit robbed. I also Requested the modern margarita to drink but wanted it without mezcal. Was told most their menu cocktails were batched (premade) and the bartender didn't offer to make my cocktail as requested and only suggested I choose a different cocktail. Because the bartender was not willing to accommodate my request for that margarita without mezcal I took off one star and one star for the steep cost of 6 oysters. I can find good oysters elsewhere and more accommodating service as well. The carrot cake was really amazing even for someone who doesn't like carrot cake. Would recommend this place to others but would not return myself.

Yelp
I made reservations for the bar only for our anniversary. We received a complimentary glass of champagne and a card - which was so sweet. The server was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The cocktail menu had a lot of fun options including modern twists on classic drinks. All the food we had was incredible! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Dinner was incredible! The ambiance is upscale and inviting, with a modern touch that makes it feel special yet comfortable. I started with the burrata appetizer, which was fresh and full of flavor. For the main course, I had the short rib and ribeye, and it was tender, perfectly cooked, and paired with delicious sides. The drinks were just as impressive--I tried the signature cocktail, and it was perfectly balanced and refreshing. The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations, ensuring an amazing dining experience. This spot is perfect for date nights or celebrating special occasions. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We had a stellar dinner and service with Mya on 7/19/25. This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in years! Everything was perfect from start to finish and we really appreciated Mya's knowledge and recommendations. We also enjoyed her vibe and conversation. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I went to Ponte to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. The beginning of our experience didn't start off well. We had an 8:30 reservation for a party of six however when we arrived, we were told the table isn't ready because another party was still finishing their meal. We thought it was a bit ridiculous that we had to wait another 15-20 minutes when we already had a reservation in place. The service however during the meal was excellent. There was complimentary bread service was impressive that included the option to select from a tray of a variety of delicious breads. I loved that their cocktail menu also had a classic version and modern version of each. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and enjoyed it. I also thought it was sweet that the waitress figured out that it was my birthday (we didn't tell her) and brought out a bite sized cake at the end. Chef Gary also came out to greet the table personally and also wish me happy birthday. He also gave me a gift box with a Ponte cookie inside. Outside of the initial long wait and somewhat lengthy wait for the bills to be run, it was a fantastic experience! The inside is also gorgeous. Unfortunately, the bar side was closed so I wasn't able to see that part.

Yelp
Service was impeccable! Food was good; plating is spectacular. But honestly, the brussel sprouts were better than the beef wellington, and that doesn't seem balanced. So I'm not sure it is really worth the price. Restaurant is beautiful. Spend your birthday with them and take a tour of the kitchen. Their hospitality is what will bring me back.

Yelp
A 5-star experience! Ponte has a classic modern American cuisine menu with a lot of seafood and steak options. The ambiance is beautiful, feels classy with white marble accents and white table cloths. The service is impeccable and attentive. They did add little something when we said we were celebrating our anniversary. We had the oysters, parker bread rolls with truffle butter, tuna crudo, escargots. All items that were recommended by our waiter and it did not disappoint! My husband does not like escargots, but these he enjoyed! The bread was great to soak up all that butter too. There was a special fish of the day, turbot with uni pasta and a generous dollop of caviar. Very rich, decadent dish that was well executed. We also had the filet mignon with string fries. The staff is attentive and asks you to cut the steak in front of them to see if it's cooked to your liking. The cocktail menu is interesting and has traditional options as well as "Ponte's" version. I had the Ponte version of an old fashioned with Japanese whiskey and it was elite. Didn't get to the dessert because I ate too much bread. Not only did we order the bread rolls, but they also have a bread tray with other house made options. They deserve a Michelin star in my opinion!

Yelp
It's a beautiful restaurant. When you walk in, you do feel transported out of midtown. I went with some friends to celebrate my birthday. I loved the low lighting I want to say the seats were very comfortable. Now for the fun part. Eddie, our waiter was top notch. Very knowledgeable and made amazing recommendations. I am still dreaming of the hamachi crudo we ordered via his recommendation. It was probably my favorite thing I ate. The Parker rolls were delicious. I appreciated the table side bread as well. The modern margarita was spicy but not overly spicy, I would drink it again. I tried my buddies specialty drink : the tequila old fashioned and it was the best old fashioned I have ever had. For entree, I enjoyed the boneless short rib. It was fork tender. The chive mashed potatoes were interesting and delicious. The Demi glace was the perfect combination to the herby mashed potatoes. We shared the shoestring fries and it was nice and crisp. Dessert was the s'mores trifle which I brought home for my gf and she loved it. For my birthday they also gave me a small cake and a gift from the pastry chef. It was a chocolate chip cookie and it was the best chocolate chip cookie I've had in a long time. Overall for my first visit 11/10. I cant wait to be back. Definitely in competition for my favorite restaurant in town.

Yelp
so, I really wanted to like this place. The ambience is very nice, high ceilings, sexy lit. The drinks were pretty good, they came up pretty fast, but nothing in the food really stupid out to me. The shrimp cocktail was decent, very fresh and pump. The beet salad was just OK. The mushroom soup that they recommend is definitely a hit. we had the crispy rice salmon, which was OK, definitely had better. For the mains we shared a steak which was cooked well. Salmon was also just OK. Sides were ok to good. The dessert was pretty decent, we had the soufflé. service was fine, helpful in decision making. We felt the manager and our server got into a bit of a issue into an error of the order, that was awkward. I'll prob stick to Olivia!!

Yelp
I had an amazing dinner at Ponte, and I highly recommend this place for all in the Tampa area! It's located in Midtown, which is such a cute and up & coming area in Tampa. I'd say it's probably the nicest restaurants within the whole area. To start, the cocktails were all delicious and well thought out. For an appetizer, we got the oyster and crispy tuna rice. I am usually not a fan of oysters, but this is an extreme exception. It was plated so beautifully and tasted delicious. The service was all immaculate. I think we got an extreme show since we were dining with one of the chefs, but it was amazing! We even got a tour of the kitchen at the end of the night, and we learned so much about all the behind the scenes work that goes into operating a restaurants. Thank you for your excellent service!

Yelp
Came here for the first time for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! 10/10 all around. My boyfriend also got a mezcal margarita that is not pictured but was fantastic. The sea bass was melt in your mouth but def want to try out the steak next time since that's what they're known for
