Ponte Pietra is one of Verona’s most beautiful and historically rich landmarks. As the city’s oldest bridge, it gracefully spans the Adige River and connects the historic center with the hillside areas beyond, including the path up to Castel San Pietro.
The bridge’s charm lies in its mix of Roman and medieval elements. Originally built in Roman times and later reconstructed after World War II using original stones, Ponte Pietra feels like a living piece of history. Walking across it, you can sense the layers of time while enjoying lovely views of the river, the old town, and the colorful buildings lining the banks.
