We started with the sausage roll, pickles, and nuts. The sausage roll was genuinely excellent — easily the highlight of the meal — but unfortunately the pickles had a very unpleasant, almost off-putting taste.
For mains, the clay pot was fairly average and didn’t leave much of an impression. The duck salad lacked flavour, which was disappointing, while the ginger noodles were tasty and enjoyable.
I did try to order pot luck rice but they apparently didn’t have it on (despite saying available after 9pm).
The cocktails were another let-down: very small portions and extremely strong, to the point where they weren’t particularly pleasant to drink.
On the positive side, the service was superb throughout — attentive, friendly, and professional — and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
One major downside was the counter seating. It’s very uncomfortable; my back was aching after about half an hour, and you’re seated extremely close to other diners, which feels awkward rather than convivial.
Overall, some real highs with the service and a few dishes, but several elements fell short of expectations.
