AMAZING FOOD!! FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Good customer service is hard to come by now. Not here and they have amazing food to match! We're new to the area and we have definitely found our new regular place. My family loves everything from the salads, to the burgers, to the Italian beef and the sub sandwiches.

I’ve been coming to Poor Boy Subs 2 ever since I was young, and it continues to be my favorite place! The staff is always so kind, sweet, and incredibly helpful, making every visit a great experience. The food has consistently been amazing over the years — fresh, delicious, and made with care. It’s a spot that holds a lot of memories for me and my family, and I couldn’t recommend it more. If you’re looking for the best subs around, this is the place to go!

Paid a visit here for the first time today, and I'm glad I decided to stop by. Called in an order for pick-up, and about 10 minutes later, I got my gyro sandwich and a Poor Boy sub. The gentleman behind the counter was welcoming and up-beat and promptly brought out my order. The dining area was neat, and the table and floors were clean. There is also outdoor seating available just off to the right of the sandwich shop. Took the food home and dug right in. The Poor Boy sub was simple and satisfying. From the 3 types of fresh deli meat to the shredded lettuce, chopped onions, and sliced tomatoes, it had an excellent, well-balanced bread-to-filling ratio. The gyro was loaded with succulent, juicy meat and garnished with fresh fragrant onions and tomato and lathered in savory cucumber sauce. Both of those sandwiches were delicious and filling. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Thanks for the good food and good service. Cheers!

Always a pleasure to eat there. You feel like home the moment you walk in. Very respectful, and they greeted you in such a way that you feel like you just came there for the first time even if you are a regular. The food always on time and, always paying attention if you’re in need of anything. Highly recommend. The place is small but full every day especially at lunch time. They know their customers and they know how to take good care of them. You will not going to be disappointed.

The most incredible feel I’ve ever had from a restaurant. They made me and my wife feel like family, the food is above expectations and then the customers and workers are all so polite.10/10 would definitely recommend.

This is by far a hidden gem! Great food, fresh toppings, friendly and fast service is what you'll get here. Great combo options, reasonable pricing and the staff are amazing! Came once and was hooked since and now that I work close to this location it will be my go to place. It's definitely a must try if you have the chance 10/10 recommend!

Lived in the area for years, always passed by this place. I regret not coming here sooner. Definitely a hidden gem. Gio, what a great person. Smiled while talking, great recommendations and overall charismatic. The food, I mean I’ve had some Poor Boy subs but this one was just top notch. Added the perfect bit of crispy bacon and *chefs kiss* perfection. Fries were awesome and the pizza puff was delicious. The seating area was clean and overall this is one of those small places that you can’t wait to come back to!

A hot dog joint, typical of many. But what made this a 5 star rating was the customer service. Phenomenal approach to every customer. It made me feel better about my day, just because of their hospitality. I drive a lot and eat in many spots away from my home turf. I made sure to grab my phone and write a review just before I left. I was pleasantly surprised. Great Beef, excellent flavor. Better than Portillos and Buona.

We ordered the steak sandwich meal, the gyro meal, and a vanilla shake. They nailed everything the way they were supposed to. The steak was flavorful and soft. The gyro was a generous size. (It was a Kronos gyro. Nothing fancy. Just good.) And the fries were hand cut steak fries - hot and salted right. The vanilla milkshake was perfect -- Like the old school hot dog shops in the city. We'll be back.

Delicious! We were just looking for a quick bite after an activity in the area and this fit the bill. Speaking of which, the bill was very reasonable. We tried the Poor Boy sub, the Captain, fries, hot dog for my son. The hot food came out piping hot and the freshly made subs were great. Rolls were crispy but soft. Good quality meats. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Would definitely go back.

I just recently bookmarked the place like 2mths ago, so I decided to check them out. It's a typical hotdogs, polish, burger fast food joint. The lady that took my order was super friendly. I had a ribeye steak sandwich was fresh and hot. It lacked seasoning a little, hence the 3 stars. The place was packed, so I guess somebody likes it!

I just adore this gem! My husband and I moved the suburbs after living in Chicago over 10 years. If you've lived in the city - you know the local fast food joints that have gyros, pizza puffs, subs, etc are alllll over. Poor Boys 2 really brings us that Chicago comfort food that we thought we wouldn't have anymore! The employees are so incredibly friendly. The place is pretty small, but very clean and casual. Not sure if the one gentlemen who helps us each time is the owner or not, but pointing out he pays attention to the small things. Example - every time he hands you the bag to go, he hands it with the opening there to slip right over your hand. While minor to some, these little details are so appreciated and noticed! The food is amazing! I'm more of a plain Jane who sticks to ordering the same thing each time and they make a fantastic turkey sub! I always add pickles to it. Their ingredients are fresh, bread is soft and the sub just hits your taste buds. My husband always alternates! He's gotten burgers, gyros, pizza puffs, etc. everything is delicious! Their cheese fries also deserve a shoutout. A lot of places use cheese that just tastes artificial. Their cheese sauce doesn't. This is been our go to since moving to Winfield. We love it!

Great place to stop for fast bite and with a variety of options and yes all of the basic Chicago greats like Hot-dogs,Gyros and love the sub-sandwiches plus a great variety of healthy salads and other options.But above all the owners always greet you with a smile and thank you for stopping in..You can't ask for better than that!!

Great sandwiches at a good price and the portions are also a good size. I wish there was a location in Roselle

The staff is always so, so friendly & helpful. This is our go-to for subs for lunches or parties. The quality is always top notch. We've tried the fries (amazing) & pizza puff (who doesn't love a greasy snack like this!), even their different drinks are delicious. Worth having in your Rolodex!

Always good and great customer service!! My favorites are the Greek salad, the gyros sandwich, the pork chop sandwich, and the chicken Parmesan sandwich. Also the fried mushrooms.

I come here whenever I'm in the area. It's the best sandwich shop in the area. Service is fast and friendly, ambiance is typical takeout with some window seats and a few small tables. A few outside seats also. My go to is the depth charge

Poor Boy 2 is just reliably delicious....quality sub rolls, plenty of meat and good choice of ingredients to give great flavor. Always love their gyros, turkey and Swiss and roast beef subs. The staff there are friendly and efficient. My go-to place for subs!

Nice restaurant with a variety of options on the menu and friendly staff. It's a little on the smaller side but just enough room if it's not overly crowded. I had the turkey sub and it was delicious and everything tasted fresh from the bread to the toppings on the sub. My Wife ordered the cheeseburger and fries and was pleased with it. We will definitely be back there soon and I recommend to anyone in the area to give them a try.

I pass this spot everyday so I stopped by and gave it a chance. Inside it was outdated and the floors are cracked and dirty and the tables where all dirty. There was no dining in all to go orders. I tried the ribeye steak sandwich and the smell when I unrolled it from the paper was a burnt char smell. The ribeye is cooked well done and it a thicker cut with grilled onions and chopped salad and mayo. It was lacking flavor so I add salt and some hot sauce. Overall it was okay not the best but not the worst. The hot dog nothing special don't recommend hotdogs here I will be back to try the cold subs and maybe change my rating. There's a lot of people that come in and pick up and the guy working the register is super cool and a lot of there customers are know from coming in a lot.

Love this place!!! They are the sweetest. Talk about great customer service. It gives old school beef/hot dog joint. Food is AMAZING! Their cheeseburger is deliciously charred and they have mozzarella sticks that feel like they just popped from the oven as opposed to other places where they taste like frozen ones. These are authentic. Highly recommend!!! You won't be disappointed

Goode and fresh fast foodinstead of the big companiesis a family local little place. I know it's a franchise, but whoever owns it does a good job burgers that always super delicious and the ribs are tender and succulent and tender,and great service all the time.

Love thier chicken salad, frankly their chicken is great tasting. I am sure all their food is outstanding.

Great place - BUT - starting to "jack" prices (even on the monthly 'specials') now, and scrimp on other items. Long-time customers have to be noticing this. - We used to go out of our way to get their chicken salads, which just a few months ago had LARGE STRIPS OF CHICKEN on top. Now, the salads are $1 more, and the large chicken strips are gone - replaced by little bitty chicken pieces (probably from a can). Very noticeable, and wrong. We had been getting this for 3-4 years, and easily noticed the sudden change. - No more Lent fish specials. The previous few years, various fish-related items (fish sandwich, shrimp dinner package) were discounted during Lent. IE. The Shrimp dinner package the previous few years was $12.25, discounted to 9.99 during Lent. Not this year. Again, and the prices on these items are now more (Shrimp dinner package is now $13.25). As mentioned generally, we've noticed varying degrees of change here in just the past 6-12 months. Jacked prices, jacked prices on the monthly "specials" (to the point where they aren't even really "specials" anymore), and scrimping on other items - especially the salads. We have loved going here and supporting them, but will be going less now.

I have driven by this place a thousand times and never thought to stop. The food here is so good! The steak sandwich and chicken sandwich are both grilled and excellent!

This is our go to. Very friendly and courteous staff, great food at a fair price!! The food is extremely consistent. Give the pork chop sandwich a try.

Fire ass food, nice ass customer service very mom and pop feeling with reasonable prices for this economy. Recommend a sub or gyro for sure.

Soo I tried a gyro. Their sauce was bland and horrible I've never had a bland gyro soo it was clumpy and just nasty. Not only that they don't fill the pita with much meat that was weird also. They should change their fries those sucked also. Won't be eating there ever again. I know cost of everything is going up but skimming on meat and not filling a fry bag up is crazy we are paying for it soo it's ok to not be cheap on the meat and fries just saying.

Ate there on a Sunday and the sandwich was great and hit all the right notes. The staff was quick with the preparation and was welcoming the whole time. Definitely a great place to grab a great sandwich.

The staff is sooo unbelievably kind, I'm always undevisive and take ages to order but they were patient with me! The place is small but I like it, it reminds me of a Taqueria in my hometown! And they have Horchata! HORCHATA! That's how you know its good!

I really understand that the food costs have gone way out of control but if something's working you don't really break that situation all these places are changing their food products and substituting with cheaper product and while that may save you money and you can raise the price the customer notices and when the food is inedible that'll be I'm not coming back. Food was sub par at best before but now, just yuck. Oh well.

Have been wanting to try this place for a long time and today I finally did. Omg best chicken n rice soup as well as poor boy sub. The bread is super soft and everything is very fresh. This is now my spot to grab a good sub. Try it if you haven't!!!

Quick, friendly service with reasonable prices on everything and many specials/deals that keep prices low on certain items. Great tasting food and my new lunch spot! Inside is small but a generally clean, hole in the wall type of vibe.

Staff and owners are very pleasant and polite. The food is really good! Gyros, Burgers, Greek/Chicken salads, Combo and Italian Beef meals are always my go to's. Each month they have a new special which is a deep discount for one of their main menu items. Last month (September) gyros were only $3.99 and there was no limit! Aside from pops and other drinks, they also serve fresh cantaloupe juice which is delicious! A good local establishment to support!

Driven past this place a zillion times :) and decided to give it a go, mostly because of favorable reviews here on Yelp. I ordered the #4, Gyros, fries and a drink. Gyro had to be one of the best, generous amounts of meat, tomato, onion and Tzatziki sauce. Pita was nice and fresh, very soft and flavorful. Really, really tasty! Fries done just right and a good helping! My wife ordered the turkey and cheese sub special with a drink. She didn't get chips which were to be included, don't know if it was our fault or theirs but with all the fries I got, we had enough to share. She said the sub was "pretty good" and she really liked the bread, fresh nice and soft. Noting fancy inside, just good comfort food at a real good price. For the above, $16 and change, not bad at all. Take a drive across the street (Rt. 38) to Rathje park and enjoy your food. A really good, tasty place on the west side of town....we'd go back!!!

Service is always top notch--very quick and friendly service. The subs are unbelievable value and taste great. The Capitan is the the goto.

I often pop in to Poor Boy Subs 2 for their fountain drinks because they're so delicious... cantaloupe, cucumber, pineapple, and I think they also have horchata, but I haven't had that one yet. Today I ordered a pepper and egg sandwich that was super delicious... cooked just right, with the right amount of peppers, on a fresh, French bread with a crisp outside and soft inside. I also love this place because the staff is so friendly!

Monthly specials? $4.99 gyro ? Yes please. I believe it was like $2.99 before EVERYTHING. Always fresh and high quality. They lose one star for not serving one of my all time favorite chicken soups on a reg basis.Seriously try the homemade chicken noodle soup when it's there.

I came here searching for a pizza puff...but found a large menu filled without one. How do they not have pizza puffs here?!? Even though they didn't have my pizza puff, they offered enough variety that one is bound to hit the spot. Hot dogs, gyros, hamburgers, tamales...oh my! Their meal deals are nicely priced. I had an Italian dog, fries and a drink for $6 and some change. The fries were fresh and perfectly salted *applause* The place was clean and the service was fast.

Great neighborhood place to get some quick and affordable comfort food. I usually go for the gyros - big serving and great taste! I did laugh because the kid who took our order didn't know what hummus was when I asked if they had it on the menu (I thought it was Greek owned but may be wrong!!). All and all a win to get a quick tasty bite.

I was on this side of town and noticed this place. We went in and tried the hot dogs and gyro platter. The food was spot on. Meat was tender, hot and very tasty, without being overly salty. The fries were hot, not salted. Perfect. Hot dogs are hot dogs. Can't mess those up. The amount of food is good for price. We took home leftovers. The place is small but very clean. It didn't smell like old oil. They had the sports channel. The kid behind the counter was very nice and professional. I will return when in area.

Been to this place 3 times this month. The food is exceptional. The best gyro in the area in my opinion. I don't know what they do to that pita, but it's amazing!!!! Everything on the menu has been great. What really makes this place is the people who work there. There's a young man who works the cash register and takes phone orders. He is always so nice and polite. A real pleasure to deal with! I called and put in an order last night 15 mins before they closed. I felt bad because I knew they were probably getting ready to close up. They were super friendly and did not act inconvenienced at all. Will be back for more!!!

Good food and good prices. Can't go wrong with anything you order. Burgers and hot dogs are great and there subs are much better than any chain restaurant in the area.
