"Nothing we say can prepare you for how filling the seafood sharing platter is at this New Orleans-inspired spot in Kingston. You’ll question whether it’s enough for the three of you. Then 10 minutes, countless bayou-blackened prawns, fried calamari, and half a soft shell crab later, you’ll realise you’ve hardly made a dent. The tray comes filled with three different types of shrimp, a fried crab, springy calamari, and garlicky grilled oysters—it’s comfort food at its finest." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager
"Poor Boys in Kingston is known for having queues that go all the way down to the river on a sunny day. Don’t give up. Excellent comfort food, a lively dive bar atmosphere, and laid-back service make this New Orleans-inspired restaurant a go-to. Grab one of the table-barrels outside and share the huge shellfish platter between a group." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"“PSA: anyone who likes shrimp and huge sandwiches should probably get acquainted with this beast of a roll. The shrimp is crispy, the mustard adds a nice sweetness, and the brioche bun is the perfect vehicle to safely deliver it all to your mouth.”— RS" - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Poor Boys are delivering New Orleans style buttermilk chicken, grilled lobster, and mac and cheese in and around Kingston. You can order here." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Yes, this New Orleans-inspired spot in Kingston is a whole restaurant, but when the queue is long, grabbing one of the po’ boys (a brioche sub filled with crispy fried shrimp, salad, pickles, and their homemade sauces) and sitting by the river is an excellent lunch situation. They serve all their food in takeaway boxes anyway. " - jake missing, rianne shlebak
