Child Labor Is a Growing Problem in the Service Industry | Eater

"Workers filed a complaint with the California Labor Commissioner and Cal/OSHA alleging severe underage and excessive-hour violations: one employee said she began working at 13 and routinely worked six days a week for 40–45 hours, sometimes during school hours and into midnight on school nights, causing sleep deprivation and academic decline; another 17-year-old described long after-school shifts that left no time for homework and forced her to skip a graduation celebration out of fear of losing income. After a worker walkout, the franchise was closed and the company said it would not tolerate employment-law violations and would act if the allegations were substantiated." - Jaya Saxena

My first time having Popeyes outside of an airport even tho i ordered this through DoorDash i was pleasantly surprised with how fresh my chicken sandwich tasted. It was hot and seasoned well had a nice crunch! Dang near better than chicken-fil-a and their sandwiches always hit the spot. First time i will say i want to try it again. Their fries got there cold tho reminded me of rallys or checkers. They were nothing to rave about. Seasoned well but hard and not worthwhile

Google
Thanks to the entire team at that store for their professionalism. Every time I go to that store, the quality and customer service is excellent. The place is always very clean, making me feel very satisfied, and I always recommend them as the best.

Google
Not great at all cold ,half cooked chicken. Biscuits were hard and dry. What can I say I did like the pop corn shrimp that was good.

Andrew Scott

Google
He stated Popeye’s Fruitvale Manager Rene provided and excellent level of costumers service and paid attention to the detailed. He always serves and delivers my order with the highest quality, always with a smile. He stated, he should be considered for any promotional opportunities.

When I first moved to Oakland I worked in the plaza at the Bank of the West right next to this Popeyes and I've seen it change drastically. It's improved with their cleanliness and the service & speed are sensational. I bought my favorite go to meal, 3 spicy strip meal. The food was hit and tasted fresh. If I'm ever craving Popeyes, like today, then this is my go to.

Google
I had a busy week and made a stop for a spicy chicken combo with biscuit and a side. I ordered it to go since I am used to the restaurant having one or two characters sitting by the tables with some loud angry energy. This time I went in to pick up my food and was greatly surprised by a lovely smell of food ☺️, no Fabuloso or bathroom smell but just delicious food! The store was sparkling clean and a warm person welcomed me (am I dreaming??). Her name was Antonia and she brought my order and read it aloud while giving it to me. New management, I guess!! Definitely recommend 👍🏽

Google
The food is always fresh and good no complaints about that cashiers pleasant as well my only concern is after 8:30 they stop cooking. You have to get what's left. Google says 10pm. Don't go after 8pm all they will have left is sides and ice not even drinks cus the pods were out on the machine smh Thank you Oakland for another let dwn.

Akiko M

Google
I love their food, including the choices of the sides. However, why do they always miss an order or two? Also, a piece of apple pie ($2) to replace a cheese cake ($4)? This keeps happening at all nearby shops, not only at this location. Something needs to be fixed. They are quick to fix the problem but I am getting tired.

Yelp
The FOOD is always Delicious. The Service was Fast and Packed Great with Care. The Ambiance is Always Friendly and with a Smile. Being very Polite.

Yelp
As far as fast food goes, Popeyes is fine. I think they're better than KFC honestly. My issue is with the portion sizes. Good grief look at the picture. I added. Five bucks for literally a half cup of coleslaw. Ditto for the mac & cheese, red beans, and rice, and mashed potatoes. Literally have never seen anything like it. Totally nuts. I'm thoroughly done. A helpful customer noticed my questioning it and suggested I go to the grocery store across the way and buy items to make my own coleslaw, which is not a bad suggestion, but the whole point of fast food is not cooking. I also noticed that they were complaining that their chicken was not fresh and asked them to fry them something new. Sorry Popeyes, this is probably the last time.

Yelp
I gave them another try. Endless pop-up advertisements and an inability to process the simplest order. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. KFC, Church's, anywhere but here. These guys clearly are not up to it.

Yelp
I got food poisoning at this restaurant specifically from the black girl with braces in her mouth at the front counter she was mugging me on her bathroom break and specifically went to make my order for me I have food poisoning and I know it's from the girl who was touching my order..

Yelp
WOW been 2 years and possibly the WORST food I have had. -coleslaw rancid -Barely any gravy on potatoes -chicken so tasteless the cats wouldn't eat it!

Andrea B.

Yelp
Worst Popeyes EVER...Customer service was good but the food was despicable...Chicken tenders were cold 2piece wing & thigh not seasoned at all the rice with the red beans hard and overcooked asked for honey mustard didn't receive it and the SWEET TEA was anything but sweet watered all the way down...On that note will I'm done with this location...

Yelp
This was THE BEST spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had from Popeyes! Great store in nice gated area of Oak town. Lots of parking & has a drive through. This place is bomb 11/10!

Yelp
I stopped eating at this location many many years ago but the one closer to my house doesn't have a drive through so i decided to come here tonight. Jasmine helped me order my food and she was very patient, polite, and had a great attitude despite my several different requests. I wish many people who worked in the food industry was like her. I normally have bad anxiety ordering food and hate feeling rushed but she didn't do that at all. It was pretty busy and she was perfect. I'm literally writing the review so she can be recognized. Thank you. 06/03/23 10pm ish As far as the food. Excellent chicken. I got exactly what i wanted. The sides i originally ordered were red beans and rice and Mac and cheese. Never ordering them ever again it was nasty. I don't eat here often so i couldn't remember if they were good or not. Now i know. The mashed potatoes and gravy and fries are good. The lemonade with strawberry syrup was good.

Yelp
I would say this Popeyes has had the worst customer service and care ever. It wasn't so bad but recently I went and I purchased like 30$ worth of chicken for a family dinner. Mind you we like the dipping sauce for our chicken and our dinner came with 10 pieces of chicken and they only gave me 2 sauces for 10?! And I asked for more and they said they will charge me mind you why would they charge me more when I already purchased 30?!$ worth. Never coming back.

Yelp
Located at the Fruitvale Station shopping center, I came to pick up an online order for 1pm pickup. Arriving at 1pm, there were two customers in line. When I got to the counter, I said I was here to pick up an online order. He asked for my name and another worker started assembling my order. I thought my order would be ready for pickup when I arrived. I've always enjoyed their fried chicken sandwich, which I felt was the best of the fast food chains. This coating was not as crispy as before, but I did take out. But I was disappointed that the chicken patty had shrunk in size. The patty used to extend out beyond the sides of the bun. Well not anymore. Don't know if it's this store or if it's how they are now. The fried chicken was good and had a nice crispy coating. The cinnamon apple pie was very sweet. This was not quality of food from Popeye's that I had in the past. Will need to go back to the stores, I patronized in the past to see if the quality has diminished chain wide.

Yelp
Ordered via drive through ... chicken strips meals... came home with a box of seasoned fries... they had one thing to do but can't do it right...

Yelp
I know I'm probably the last person on the planet to try Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. In my defense I did eat a Popeyes chicken sandwich in Vietnam but it wasn't the same. I've passed by this location on Fruitvale a thousand times and on all the occasions I tried to go, the line was too long. But finally on April 9th, 2021 I finally got in line for Popeyes drive-thru, and ordered a Flounder and Chicken Sandwich. Flounder Sandwich: the fish filet was a nice sized piece along with tartare sauce and pickles. The flavor was excellent and shouldn't even be compared to the Filet-O-Fish in my opinion. It's leagues better. Chicken sandwich: so it's better late than never. The piece of chicken was generous and the crunch of the fried chicken and moist meat made for an superb chicken sandwich for under $5. Not to be overlooked with both sandwiches and what really impressed me was the pillowy, great tasting buns. It's all in the texture that makes their bread some of the best I've eaten. For fast food, Popeyes Sandwiches really impressed me. No shame in having these sandwiches anytime of the day and I'd have no problem recommending it to others.

Yelp
I've been to other Popeye's restaurants in the SF Bay area, and this food is a little bland. It doesn't have that kick of heat Popeye's is known for. The only good thing about it was that the fries were crispy. After reading the Yelp reviews saying service is bad here, I used up a DoorDash discount and avoided the drive thru. So i got the food in 20 mins from Oakland's Fruitvale area. The shrimp is merely little balls of fried dough. There's a tiny Shrimp under there. So for your money you get shrimp, fries, and a biscuit. Yawn.... The 4-pc chicken was bland. Doesn't measure up to other Popeye's I've been to. I will give them 3 stars, should be 2. But during this Covid 19 situation, every restaurant gets a break. Good luck and stay safe

Yelp
Shout-out to the ladies working the front counter! They have to deal with some real rude and entitled "customers". I stopped here yesterday. The 3 customers ahead me were kinda rude to the cashier. Had they read the menu before ordering, they would have known the prices and what they get for that price. Although there was a language barrier, the menu and prices are in plain English! Don't take your confusion out on the cashier. The dining area is kept clean and my experience has always been good!

Yelp
WHEN: Saturday @6:15pm I placed an order on the phone app because there were specials and deals going on! I chose the pick up option because even though they say it's Free Delivery with $15+ purchase, the itemized prices were a bit more expensive. Anyway, I made the mistake of coming during prime time so there was a line at the drive thru. I wasn't sure what the protocol was for order pick up so I got in the drive thru, and when I arrived they had already have my bag ready! Easy! Here's what I ordered: 2 CAN DINE SPECIAL- 5PCS SIGNATURE CHICKEN - $8.99 This special offer comes with: +1pc Leg Mild +1pc Wing Mild +1pc Breast Mild +1pc Thigh Mild +Regular Size Cajun Fries +Regular Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy +2 Biscuits What a deal right!? This will totally fill 2 people up for under $10! Everything was delicious! I really wish they had mac 'n cheese. CLASSIC FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH - $3.99 A tender all-white meat chicken breast fillet, marinated in an authentic blend of Louisiana seasonings, then hand battered and breaded in our all new buttermilk coating. Served with crisp barrel cured pickles and Classic or Spicy Mayonnaise, served on a warm and toasted buttery brioche bun. Yes, I copied and pasted from their website. I'm here so I might as well order it without fearing I would wait 2 hours and get into a fist fight with someone. I'm so glad I waited for this! I was impressed and was VERY happy for a $4 sandwich! I'm used to payed $8-$12 for one, and this was very decent for the price! Would I pay a few more bucks for something at better quality and locally? Yes. I'm happy I finally got to try this overly hyped sandwich, and I did it without any bruises! Worth trying if you haven't! CINNAMON APPLE PIE - $1.59 Warm, crispy crust on the outside, hot cinnamon apple goodness on the inside. Okay, so I had ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cream Cheese Pie, but I guess this location didn't have it. So they replaced it with the Cinnamon Apple Pie. That's fine, I'd just like a heads up. It's warm, gooey, and all deep fried so you know it was good! I came back a different night for some of that sweet Apple Pie around 9:30pm. Pulling at the drive thru, a staff member informed me that there was only Chicken Sandwiches left. I asked "So you don't have any Apple Pies?" They said no but they have Banana Cream Pie and I got excited and said yes! When I got home I realized its the the kind of pie that is a deep friend hand pit like the apple one: BANANA CREAME PIE - $3.59 It was in a cup, with a layer of the crust that tasted pretty gross. Then a layer of the Banana Cream Custard, and some whipped topping, topped with a Nilla Wafer Cookie. This is frozen. I had to wait for it to thaw. This was overall very unsatisfying and more than double the cost of an Apple Pie. Oh well, lesson learned. I'd totally come back though.

Yelp
This has to be one the worst Popeyes. After ordering we waited more than 45 minutes. Never got our food, never got an apology! I waited another 10 minutes for a refund. I don't mind the food wait. I understand places are busy or short staff. But this location was neither nor! I only stopped there for food for my kid. The service is always bad. They're always conversing with each other and the customers do not get the service that we should get. It's not a fine dining but you are in customer service. Anywho, the manager instead of delegating was trying to do everything. While her employees stands around. Bad bad service and poor management! I would never go to this location again. I rather go to a different city!

Yelp
I bought into the hype about the spicy sandwich and don't know if the information I got was correct or not, but here goes my experience. First off the drive through was closed. Stepping inside to a line where every patron seems focused on getting their lips around a sandwich. Now surrounded by too much humanity in a slow line just was not pleasant. Second when I get called up they have the wrong order. We ordered 3 items, one of them an 8 piece chicken box. The counter person handed me a small take out bag. When informed her that was not my order she began to argue with me. I understand help may be hard to get but friggin use common sense. How are 2 sandwiches, popcorn shrimp and 8 piece box all fit into a sandwich bag? When I finally read my receipt, she really did not apologize. This is the type of shit that makes me upset. Third, the much acclaimed chicken sandwich is horrible. Or the manager was lying to me. After two bites of the sandwich I had to stop. The meat was cold to the touch and made the meat very tough. When you're a foodie there are certain expectation. Like going to an establishment that served hot chicken. One would count to expect the chicken to be hot. Really why the f**k would you fry chicken all day then decide to serve a cold sandwich? Very much not impressed. With so many options for fried chicken sandwiches like Bake Sale Betty or Hawking Bird, or just about anywhere else, this was a learning moment. Summary. The Donald Trump of fried chicken sandwiches.

Yelp
The chicken was extremely old and the batter was hard as a rock. Super disappointed with the quality of food, I threw away the entire family meal. Never going back and I highly advise everyone to stay away.
google avatar

Heidi H.

Yelp
Food was OK. Slow service. Manager was helpful when my purse was stolen from the restaurant. Ambiance was very ghetto. But that probably has a lot to do with the location. Won't be back.
google avatar

Saundra H.

Yelp
This restaurant we'll let you eat here but you can't use the restrooms. The young manager said no it closed, out of order.. Covid.... Like really. It's illegal to serve food in a establishment and not supply a Restroom to the customers. Popeyes needs to look into this ASAP. Unless you want a lawsuit on your hands.. this restaurant needs to be shut down.. you don't deserve . to top it off I'm disabled... No common sense these days. This place is ran by a bunch of kids... like really Popeyes can't you do better then that... very disappointing your food is amazing but your customer service is crap At the rate your going your going to be like bud light. Your sales will drop and you will lose so much money... then you'll be pleading for are business

Yelp
Good service. Food came out quick and order was accurate. Chicken and sides tasted delicious. Dining area was well maintained. No complaints from me. This Popeyes location did a terrific job. My sister said this is the familys go to location whenever they are craving Popeye's chicken. I can see why based on this one visit. Once again I say, terrific job folks.

Yelp
It feels odd to be writing a review for a fast food place I have driven through probably a dozen or so times. However here I am. So it's Saturday and I find myself craving a fried fish sandwich, weird I know, but that's life. I also have been wanting to try the Popeye's Classic Flounder Fish Sandwich for a while. It's not like going there is difficult or anything, being that Monday through Friday I drive past it on my way to and from work but still I have not bothered to stop. Anyway as I was saying it late Saturday afternoon, and I am craving a fish sandwich so I got to DD and order that, the mac and cheese as my side, and a sweet tea. Oh there is also supposed to be an apple pie but that doesn't make it to me. No worries DD gave me my money back for it and these things happen. Okay so I think I ordered the classic not spicy fish sandwich but that thing has as much flavor as it has crunch for the not spicy one. So good. Now the mac and cheese... seriously this is from a fast food place. No! It is as good, no sadly I have to say better than my mac and cheese, and I like to believe I make pretty good homemade not from a box baked mac and cheese. I would say theirs being better makes me a sad panda but my nickname is mouse so really I would be a sad mouse, but I'm kind of not. Needless to say as much as I kind of miss the apple pie I didn't need it because the sandwich, and mac and cheese were well worth the price of admission or something.

Yelp
It was my son's birthday yesterday and with the virus going on I didn't want to go to the store to grab what I needed to make dinner so I decided to order Popeyes For my son's birthday dinner placed an order from door dash for two family meal deal which came with 8 biscuits, 16 piece mix chicken, 3 large sides. X2 the food came hot and nicely packed. Everything was there nothing was missing still have some left over chicken for the next day and that will be my lunch for today lol.

Yelp
Came through the drive thru at 5:06 pm on 10/07/2019 (see pic of receipt). Chick is cool & friendly on the mic. Then, I get to the window and request honey for the wings. The chick gave me two packages for a three piece..... No gurl..... I ask her to place more packets on the armored slider. She puts ONE additional packet on the slider. I was like.... Do u really want me to park my vehicle to come inside and make a demand? No gurl!!! I just simply say, "Ma'am, I NEED AT LEAST SIX PACKETS OF MUTHA F*ING HONEY!! Ok, she slams them on the slider as if her azz is irritated by MY presence. I really try hard to be empathic towards fast food workers but at times, they try to trade my professional life with thug life - not ok, it imbalances my scales. To add insult to injury, I open the box and ALL three wings fit inside ONE biscuit. How TF is that possible??? That's why the bytch knew I only needed two packets of honey. I'm PISSED & had to go to Food Max next door to get some baby carrots to stop my tummy from growling! I'm done!!

Yelp
Your average Popeyes. Understaffed and possibly overworked. I came after the Chicken Sandwich Wars Summer '19 so it wasn't mayhem. The drive thru was closed which made for a busy, slow time inside. But honestly it wouldn't make a difference if I were in my car. I don't know why corporate doesn't get it. Hire more people. Check out other successful fast food spots. Y'all have good chicken and fries. Act like you do!

Neshan S.

Yelp
Bad food not fresh and hard to enjoy overcooked or old food given to customers. Maybe try a different location???

Yelp
We decided to grab an infamous Popeyes chicken sandwich after finishing up a lengthy visit to a business next door. It popped into brain, and I could not get it out until I tried this sandwich. My husband went over as I finished up next door. He was there for a good 20 min before I showed up. When I walked in, there was a line that wrapped through the restaurant (the restaurant is small, but still). I noticed that there were no cars in the drive through, so it must have been closed. This line was moving slower than slow. I found my husband, who had already ordered. I observed maybe 5 people working. It looked like they had enough cooked chicken to feed everyone in line for the next several hours. I do not understand what the hold up was. Upon getting home, we opened our sandwiches and I was ready for an explosion of delicious fried chicken sandwich in my mouth. I have to say, I don't know why people were getting into fights over this sandwich; it was meh and I was disappointed in wasting the calories. The chicken was a overcooked, maybe from sitting under the heat lamp for so long? Who knows. My step-daughter's chicken strips were better than the chicken in the sandwich. My husband also ordered the popcorn shrimp and two apple pies. The popcorn shrimp were HELLA salty and a little too seafoody tasting for me to be comfortable eating it. The apple pie was pretty good. I might give the chicken sandwich one more try, but probably at a different location. I don't like giving out bad reviews, but this was not a stellar experience and the food was disappointing.

Yelp
This location is literally the worst I've been to. Starting off with the customer service, they are rude and and incompetent. But the chicken..was not eatable at all. I ordered a chicken breast, it was hard pieces and it looked so old and disgusting it didn't even look the normal color. Sick.
google avatar

Yelp
Got my 8 piece order of some cold fried chicken. Water down red beans and rice. I knew I shouldn't have gone there late.
google avatar

Jacy J.

Yelp
This location is kind of tucked away in the corner of the parking lot, close to the freeway. But if you know about it, it's a gem! I got the classic chicken sandwich and wow! The chicken was crispy and juicy. The bun was toasted and buttery! They put the perfect amount of sauce on for my liking, not too much and not too little so that it doesn't steal focus from the flavors of the chicken and breading. It was comfort food I was in need of and totally worth the short drive!

Yelp
Nothing shook everyone in America more than the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich this Summer. After all the hype it got so quickly, I knew I had to try it out. I was in the area and came across this Popeyes location, and sure enough there was a line. The drive-thru line was even more ridiculous. By the time I ordered to the time I got my food, it was a 25-minute wait. Not bad for all the chaos going on and I was excited to try it. I ordered the Mild Chicken Sandwich Meal (~$8) which comes with a side and drink. I went with Seasoned Fries for my side. They also had this new Peanut Butter Banana Pie (~$3), so I figured why not try that too! The chicken sandwich was honestly SO GOOD. I was impressed. The chicken was thick and juicy. The bun was warm and soft. The spicy mayo sauce and pickles were a nice, classic touch to this chicken sandwich. The seasoned fries were also solid, as usual. They complimented the sandwich very well. The peanut butter banana pie was just okay. It tasted too artificial (I guess what can you expect from a fast food chain?). I would skip that next time and just stick to their chicken since that's what they're doing right. It was a great try and I would definitely come back if they still have it or bring it back. It's honestly a game-changer!

Alberto S.

Yelp
If I could give it a 0 I would. Don't order from here. They'll give you random stuff that you didn't even ask for.

Yelp
Staffs are so unfriendly. My mom, husband and son want to use restroom while I'm in the line to order food and ask to use the restroom but staff said it's closed. I saw a women using it how it's gonna be close for the people want to use it so my husband was so upset so he went to fedex to go to the restroom because he really in need to pee. When I was in the cashier and order and pay for our food and I ask the cashier if we can use the restroom and she open it. So that means they will open the restroom for you if you order and pay already. It's so bad experience for us. The service is not good.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
$14 for some chicken tenders and a child size mashed potato side. This is getting ridiculous. Price gouging in California is out of control. Time to get out of this state.

Elvis N.

Yelp
Never order from this store. Didn't deliver my chicken Sandwich only 10$ for the side + burger. I paid 44$ for the combo + tips.

Sylvia M.

Yelp
My husband and I have been moving all day and finally decided to eat something and decided Popeyes sounded better than McDonald's. While eating our chicken tenders my husband's asks "am I eat a napkin? " Spits it out and low and behold it's a deep fried napkin. Seriously......

Yelp
Bad service was about to use offer code at drive thru and he said I suppose to give code when he was taking order, and didn't let me use it... when i know that u can add the coupon in easily... and I specially repeated my order more then 3times and he still gave me regular chicken instead of chicken tenders like I ordered! And didn't even give me a reciept...

Yelp
I just spent over an hour and a half dealing with bugs in ur app when I tried ordering the T-Mobile sandwich and 2 piece offer. I had the code and drove up to one location on international street only to be told after the drive thru that it was online order and they don't take online orders fine. I drive 15 min to the next one at 9th street and order online by plugging in all the details and buying fries. I get to the window and am told there was no offer in my order. I pull to the parking lot to figure it out and try to order the T-Mobile offer by itself. Fail after fail after fail in trying to complete the order. It says cant connect to restaurant. I go inside and explain my situation to the manager (female lady and name begins with S) and she throws her hands in the air. Won't bother taking my code or anything. Walked out with fries I payed $4 for because I didn't want to just take advantage by taking the free offer alone. I am extremely upset with the app, the offer that apparently no one can get, the service offered at the restaurant. Last, the app won't even allow u to choose to and select the restaurant location to make an online order so how are we supposed to claim an offer that is online only?? Love ur food but this was seriously not right. Please reach out to me and let me know how this can be amended.

Yelp
Waited in drive thru line for 20 mins Just to have a lady Say . We only excepting cash Is that ok lol? What the heck? uhhh no it's no ok maybe you should put a sign so not everyone is waiting and wasting time!
google avatar

Yelp
My three piece white meat was a leg, a thigh and a breast. No wings! My partner she got a two piece white meat and it was a thigh and a breast. The fries were cold as was the red beans. Drink was flat. I think her mistake was going through the drive-through. I usually eat there around lunchtime when there's a good turnover on product and people. This meal sucked!

Cortne Z.

Yelp
Customer service is horrible didn't receive what I ordered then got attitude when I tried to get it fixed, over fries keep the fries give me a refund
google avatar

Yelp
The only cash-only business in the area. I rarely carry cash because of COVID. After waiting forever in the drive-thru, I finally can leave without chicken. I wish I would have known about them being cash only in advance.

Yelp
On the evening of February 22nd, 2020 I stopped by Popeyes to get dinner. I purchased the three spicy chicken strip combo with fries and a strawberry soda. I also ordered Cajun shrimp to complete my meal. My total came out to be $16.38 but the customer service representative never put my receipt in the bag. When I returned home and started to open my meal, I noticed when I bit down the texture was off. I began to rip my chicken strip apart and realized that there was paper fried all throughout my chicken. I truly am disappointed and highly disgusted.

Yelp
Non-kids friendly!!! My little brother needs to go to restroom and they just said nope nope to him. He really wants to go pee and he ran outside to cry although we explained the situation, hopefully they understand but all they said was NO. How cruel are those employees!!

Yelp
They apparently don't take credit card in the drive through? I'd be willing to try them again if they do take card. That's pretty weird for a Popeyes...

Yelp
I ordered the 10 piece special and about half of them were white breast meat. Seriously?

Yelp
Went in because I was hungry and the sign on the door said "No more than nine inside diners" and the place was empty. I ordered lunch, including the Popeye's chicken sandwich that everyone was excited about a year ago. Food was ready quickly, but when I bit into the chicken sandwich, it was room temperature and had the texture of something prepared an hour and a half earlier. I asked for a fresh replacement. Five minutes later, I was handed exactly the same thing. I gave it back and asked them to cook a sandwich fresh for me. The staff person was incredulous: "But that would take ten minutes!" Ten minutes later, I sat down to eat and the staff person said they didn't allow inside dining. I pointed them to the sign on the door. They scratched their head and took the sign down. First and last time I'll ever try to eat at Popeye's.

Yelp
I ordered the Christmas family special with a side of RED BEANS and Mac and Cheese which was originally supposed to be $20. ..... the only thing right was the chicken. The Mac and Cheese was watery and they gave me fries instead of red beans. Their customer service not even existent. The person at the window only told me my total and slid my food and card through the glass container they have. I sped off because I had to come back home to a sick dog but next time I will check my food I'm gonna go return it now and get my $25 back.
