How Long Are the Lines for Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches in the Seattle Area? | Eater Seattle

"I found only a few Yelp reviews for the Renton Popeyes since the sandwich returned, and none were particularly glowing: one customer said the app accepted her order only for the location later to be unable to fulfill it, another reported “hundreds” of people waiting on Sunday and that the restaurant ran out of sandwiches by 1:30 p.m., and Eater was unable to reach the Renton location by phone." - Gabe Guarente

They either don’t care or do not follow SIMPLE instructions or both. My receipt CLEARLY shows I did not select for any wings but here they are giving me wings. And this is the very reason I did not request for wings.. it’s just batter and bones. I even requested a spicy piece but none were spicy. My husband even went in to CLARIFY the order before receiving it. We shouldn’t have to be in their face and quality check their work. They are getting paid to do their job, not us. Customer service wise, maybe drive thru is better but they just don’t seem to care when people come in the door.

Went through the drive thru and got cheese curds and a classic chicken sandwich. The sandwich was awesome and totally worth getting again. It was a number 1 not spicy. The curds on the other hand... the box was dripping oil all over the place, the curds were basically just one big mashed curd and I felt like if I ate them, my stomach was going to revolt. I tried the top 2 in the box and they did taste good but the texture was just soaked in oil breading with stringy cheese in the middle. Looking through the window, the place needs a serious deep cleaning. Overall, I won't be back to that location again.

this was at 1:15 in the afternoon on a Friday or Saturday. And it was kinda busy. I'll admit it was my first time going there. And the chance of me going back is slim to never. I'll never understand a company that are always out of things on their special. Many of the tables in the place was dirty, but what took the cake was the bathroom sink. It was nasty. See pic.

This morning at 1115am there was a 30min wait with mobile orders. I saw food there but they couldn't seem to get food out to mobile order customers (there were 4 of us.) It would be faster if I walked in to place an order. Very strange.

Google
I’ve had two separate bad experiences at this Popeyes, both involving mobile orders. On two different days, I placed my order through the app, and both times it took over 30 minutes to get my food, even though there were fewer than five people in line. What made it worse was the customer service. When I politely asked about my order status, the staff seemed impatient and annoyed, even the very first time I asked. Instead of being helpful, the attitude felt dismissive. This is honestly the worst order management and customer service I’ve experienced at any fast-food restaurant. The process is extremely inefficient, and customers shouldn’t be treated this way, especially when delays are clearly not caused by crowd size. I won’t be returning to this location unless there are serious improvements.

Google
I had a T-Mobile for coupon 3 chicken tenders for a dollar. Coupon didn’t apply to the payment, I went to the restaurant to see if they could apply the discount to the order. The staff Wasn’t knowledgeable. I didn’t take the food. I wanted the order canceled and refunded my money.. I tried to call customer service they sent me to the online chat, they were no help in canceling my order so I am out of $24.09 and didn’t receive any food. I work too hard to just give away my hard earned money.

Google
I’ll admit, Popeyes hits that fast-food fried chicken sweet spot. Crispy breading, juicy meat, and a kick of Cajun flavor tend to deliver exactly what I’m craving when I want something indulgent. Their classic chicken sandwich still stands out — the crunch, bun, pickles, all together it feels satisfying in a way few competitors manage. (There’s been a lot of buzz about that sandwich and how it helped spark the “chicken sandwich wars.”) When I go some afternoons, though, service can be a mixed bag. Lines move slowly, timing feels off, or sometimes staff seem overwhelmed. I remember once waiting quite a while just for a sandwich, and although the people behind the counter were friendly, the pace was frustrating. For me, that kind of undermines what the food is trying to do: deliver something bold and urgent. There are also occasional misses — chicken that’s less crispy on one side, biscuit a bit too salty, or sides that don’t feel as fresh as they should. Still, I go back because when Popeyes gets it right, it really gets it. That crunch-to-meat ratio, the heat or spice when you pick the spicy version, and those biscuits? They deliver comfort. If I’m feeling lazy (or hungry) and the drive-thru line isn’t insane, it’s precisely the kind of guilty pleasure I’ll indulge in. ‌ Would I always pick Popeyes? Not if I’m trying to eat light, or want something super consistent. But for what it sets out to do — bold fried chicken, lots of flavor, fast food that doesn’t pretend to be healthy — I think it’s one of the better of its genre.

Google
Paid $5 and it was barely half full. My order took over 30 minutes to get, chicken still had pieces of feathers at least I know the chicken is real . Not a good experience. At this time there was nobody infront of me or behind me in line.

Yelp
Great service and deliciousness. Forgot to apply a coupon and Popeyes made it right here! Love that chicken from Popeyes's!

Yelp
I never go to Popeyes cause it's not usually where i'm at . Been to this location a couple times . The menu only had half of it working so I didn't know what they had. I ordered dippers cause it was advertised ( sold out). I went for the wings and some sauces were sold out . wait in the drive thru took forever. my wings tasted ok, they didn't seem to have been coated well . very very greasy . the sauce was mostly oil . I could only eat half my order before I had enough . greasy !!! probably go smewheee else for chicken honestly

Yelp
Got some food here the other night, was pretty decent. Decided to go back, this time they robbed me of a pie. I ordered a 2 piece strawberry creme cheese pie and they charged me for a 2 piece and only gave me one. Shame on me for not checking the bag on a restaurant that has a 2.5 star rating.

Yelp
After a tiring flight, we're finally back in Seattle, and I was craving crispy chicken. Perfect timing, I found Popeyes! I ordered the bone-in wings with garlic parmesan sauce and a combo with two pieces of chicken, fries, and coleslaw (though, sadly, I didn't like the coleslaw). My husband was excited for the Ghost Pepper Bacon Cheeseburger combo, but they gave us the chicken sandwich instead, which left him unhappy. I understand they were busy, and the staff were nice, but we were disappointed because we were really looking forward to it. I just capture when we are home, i'm so hungry when we are in the car so I ate the fries and the leg hehe!

Kris K.

Yelp
Renton Popeyes in terms of everything is terrible! Please don't get me wrong I really enjoy Popeyes spicy Chicken but the staff there is rude, slow and incompetent. I'm sure you will have a better experience at another Popeyes.

Yelp
The shrimp was good this time. The chicken was ok. The reason for the 2 stars is the service is usually horrible. I have been to this location many times. In the past they have had a couple good managers that tried to take care of the customers. I try to order on line so I don't have to suffer the long wait. I walked up to the mobile order line and I am the only one in the line. At least six people see me and just keep walking by. No one acknowledges me. It's the most unusual thing. Most businesses will at least acknowledge you and say someone will be with you soon. The kitchen is filthy. You would think at least a few times a day someone would clean.

J R.

Yelp
It's not the first time and it probably won't be the last but it'll be the last that I'll ever go order from here. I went there at 8:05 PM and I was asked to hold on to take my order which is OK I understand normally they have you know about two or three workers at night. I've been wait about 35 almost 40 minutes. I didn't leave until 840 when I got up to the window, I let them I've been waiting 30 minutes. I wasn't able to order there because I was like nobody's answering so I came up to the front. He didn't really told me that you're supposed to order back like yes I understand that but you made me wait over 15 minutes at the machine so I'm like of course I'm gonna drive up. I'm not gonna just sit there. There's no point it's a fast food can't get my food is that defeats the purpose. So I asked if I the window he caught an attitude again. I am not being frustrated or mean or anything like that cause trust me I could've been but I wasn't because I everybody got a job however he didn't make it seem like I was the one who problem like I made the issue I didn't make the issue. I was trying to resolve it as the customer that's . I paid to be frustrated. That makes no sense. I'm actually about to get mad Lol

Rodney A.

Yelp
Still trying to figure out why I couldn't order 2 5 wing Dinners. The cashier kept saying thats too many. That i can't order that many. Someone make this make sense.

Victor J.

Yelp
Ordered a 3 wing meal, to go from the drive through. Chicken wings were 1.5 inches end to end, very overcooked dry and basically inedible, biscuit dry and old. Mashed potatoes cold. I called the store as soon as I got home to ask why. I was put on hold 3 times by 3 different people. My last two visits has been awful, and I won't be going back. Something has changed with that Renton location in the last few months, and it's HORRIBLE, service and food. HORRIBLE I SAY!

Desiray D.

Yelp
My chicken sandwiches were undercooked for the second time this establishment is actually disgusting

Yelp
I've noticed that the quality of food at this Popeye's restaurant continues to degrade. I have decided NEVER to return to the Renton site because I would do better throwing my money out of my moving vehicle on the freeway and get more satisfaction. I visited the restaurant yesterday, 7/24/25 @ around 2 PM and ordered (2) apple pies, (1) 3 piece spicy chicken w/biscuit, and the new dippers w/sauce and a wrap with lemonade. It took a long while to get to the order window which is nothing new about this restaurant. I paid for my order and watched people inside moving around and then I paid for my order listed above at the Drive-Thru window. When I got home my order original order was not what I'd requested except for the dried out dippers, the tasteless wrap and the half way decent lemonade drink. I did not receive my (3) pc spicy chicken order, instead I got (6) dried up honey bar-b-que wings and NO APPLE PIES. I spent almost $30.00 for food that I could not eat because it was old and dried up nasty. This has happened to me more times than I need to list here but I DON'T EXPECT THAT BUSINESS TO LAST LONG because the service is SLOW and the FOOD IS NOT FRESH. I shouldn't have to hold up the line to check the bag for what I ordered. More care should be provided to give customers what they ordered and the food should not be sitting around to dry out. I've never been to a Popeyes restaurant that is this maddening!!!!

Jim H.

Yelp
Usually I deal with the older black lady behind the counter she is awesome! Unfortunately she was not there yesterday when I went for lunch. I stood there in front of the counter with no line and wasn't even acknowledged for 10 minutes while the three employees that were working up front just looked at me. The older Mexican chick working the drive-thru needs to be fired she is rude as hell and clearly hates her life. She was about to take my order and some guy said they were out of napkins so she decides to go refill the napkins before coming back to take my order and even when she asked for my order she was looking off into space I didn't know if she was talking to me or to someone in the Drive-Thru. Was about 2 seconds from walking out of the place. I swear does Popeye's higher the dumbest, rudest most miserable people they can? Every Popeyes I have been to the customer service is a absolute joke but yesterday was terrible. I hope they fire them at least the Mexican chick from the drive-thru window and hire people that actually have some customer service skills. I wouldn't hire her to work as a greeter at Walmart. She's a bitc*

Yelp
Second time at the location and never again. The "spicy chicken sandwich" were two tenders and a bun? They need to shut this place down or do something with the team bc it's never a good experience. This place is an embarrassment to the Popeyes franchise

Yelp
Popeyes Loisiana Kitchen Social Media Critical Complaint 1. Location: 105 SW 7th St., Renton, WA 98057 2. I have worked at fast food resturants since I was 14 years old including popeyes 3. This location got mad at me because I ordered my items a la carte and got everything cheaper than what they were trying to charge me. 4. Manager White male with the Purple hair, Transgender White Employee Shay, and White female manager were all disrespectful and rude regarding not ever having chicken breast available and then making me wait at leat 20 to 30 mins for food all three times that I ordered from this location. 5. White Male Manager with the purple hair blamed me the customer because this location never has chicken breast available, I cant make this crap up, furthermore this manager says lies about me such as I'm always harassing his employees "Quote" even though I have only come into the store 3 times in a row ever in life attempting to order the same exact thing. 6. Popeyes in the Seattle Washington area is stuck on hiring illegal immigrants 7. Popeyes refuses to hire Black Americans even though fried chicken comes from Black Americans in the South! 8. The Popeyes location listed above is knowningly and willfully overcharging all of its customers. 9. I have taken a picture of my actual receipt. 10. I ordered specific items the way I wanted to order the items because I knew I was being cheated, and then when I ordered the items my way, the workers then got mad at me and said that whoever allowed me to order the items that way should have not let you do it. 11. Transgender white employee who goes by the name shay , then makes up a story and claimes that I was given an eployee discount, I then asked her so I was given an employee discount 4 times in a row? In Conclution nobody should ever spend there money at a resturant who is knowningly and willfully cheating them, plus making them wait 20 to 30 mins for chicken breast 3 times in a row. This location is always hiring because the owner decided that it would be a great idea to fire everyone who was previously working there and then hire illegal immigrants , however Donald J Trump has just won the election therefore I will be sure as a Black American to call the immigration tipline! P.S. just in case if anyone is wondering ..No I have never worked at this location, when i worked for popeyes it was in New York over 16 years ago.

Yelp
I have eaten here several times management is working very hard sometime. There's a wait because they don't have a lot of staff, but the food is always good. They're working hard and doing their best. Just have a little patience.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is delicious, but the dining area is filthy and smells bad. The floor is dirty and the window sills are full of dust. The owner should care more on the cleanliness of the restaurant, it shouldn't be that hard.

Yelp
Worst customer service EVER. I had to wait a total of THIRTY MINUTES to get 2 chicken sandwiches, small fries, and 2 lemonades. I placed a mobile order then came to pick it up. I waited in a line behind 3 men, and was the last person in that line. As soon as I came to the front of the line, the person in front immediately went to prep orders. For TEN whole minutes, I made consistent eye contact with THREE employees and no one said so much as a "I'll be right with you," or "Thank you for your patience." I had also made multiple attempts to get their attention to no avail. After my order was confirmed, it took another TWENTY minutes for me to get my order! I was standing and waiting right in front of the counter, and they still somehow forgot about my order? Other people came after me, ordered, and got their orders before I did. After 20 minutes, I honestly didn't even want the food anymore. When I finally got my order, they forgot one of the two lemonades I'd ordered. No "thank you for waiting" or anything. The final slap on the face was that the lady who consistently ignored me for the entire half an hour asked if I was ok AFTER someone else had handed me my order. She awkwardly smiled and gave me a free chicken sandwich that took less than a minute to prepare. Thank you, but no. Just-- no. Not to mention that the floor looks like it hasn't been mopped in AGES. Some other tables had trash that was just sitting there. I'm assuming it's from customers who didn't bus their tables, but do the employees really have to leave it there? The lack of respect is appalling. I am not coming back.

Yelp
The food aka the chicken is always fantastic as well as the red beans and rice which always brings us back. Have never been inside just the drive thru which is friendly and the order is always accurate. This evening I had the pleasure of being helped by McKenna she was alone, very busy yet clam friendly with huge smile. I had an issue with my credit card and she was so kind as I work out the problem. Thank you McKenna for making my evening you single handedly created the atmosphere and ambiance every drive thru needs to have.

Yelp
I don't know why the reviews are so low. I came on a weekday around 1pm and there was no line. I made sure to place my order a few minutes before going driving up to the window and the chicken sandwich was piping hot and crispy. Waaaay better than chick fil a sandwiches and cheaper too. I mean $5 for a chicken sandwich? It's juicy, it's big, it's crispy. Can't beat it....

Ll L.

Yelp
I ordered eight pieces of chicken and a small coleslaw. "Cost $37.89"! I am okay with the cost but unpleased with the pieces I received in my order. An eight-piece order should consist of 2 Breasts, 2 Legs, 2 thighs, and 2 wings. Instead, I received 4 thighs, 3 legs, and 1 wing. Whenever I order from "Popeyes" 105 SW 7th Street Renton, WA 98055 my order is always wrong. GM Katherine Plyler lied when she showed 1 breast including in the order. You don't have to worry about me, I definitely will not be ordering from the Renton Popeyes anymore. Let the customer know if you don't have the required pieces for a packing order. Most people will still accept what you have available.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
The food was all cold, it's after 12pm busiest time of day for food. But no wonder the line was short. They gave me change for a different order so short changed me. Won't be back.

Bo W.

Yelp
The food looked fresh out of the fryer and tasty. The service today at the Renton location was good. I used the drive-thru service. The ambiance is a fast food restaurant.

Yelp
Popeyes is the undisputed king of the chicken sandwich. For $3.99 you get a thick and juicy chicken breast coated in a perfectly spiced breading. It's crunchy from the first bite to the last, and the flavor is hands down the best in fast food. For that I give this place three stars. But yeah, it's fast food so what do you expect? Except for the biscuits, the sides are very bland and forgettable. Because the dining room is closed, the drive through line is always long unless you get there right at opening. Although you can't order on the app from this location, you can redeem coupons and give them the coupon code in the drive through. I did that this weekend and got a 5-piece meal with two sides and two biscuits for $8.99. Great deal for my wife and daughter.

Larry K.

Yelp
I love Popeyes, but this place is filthy. The seating area is dirty, bathroom sticks and the kitchen is horrible! Saw the kitchen through the door and left without ordering. Service was good though. Wish people order from the drive through can see their kitchen.........

Yelp
Mediocre at best being generous and fair with 2 stars. -1 point for literally a rat mouse creature next to the drive thought in the fence gate back door load and un load area, feel bad that I didn't take a picture wanted to but it was an awkward maybe almost imperfect shot to get etc... -1, 1 of the Poppies "Bayou Buffalo Sauce" couplet thing's literally looks like some one maybe used there fingernail in some way or form to pierce thought the top label of the thing and make it leak, stupid gross intentional? For no reason? I was very polite and efficient at the ordering presentation board, some one doesn't like their job I guess? Your guess is better than mine? I honesty feel like taking a picture and posting it, Likely Will! -1 kind of long mediocre in terms of efficiency drive thought line for chicken that wasn't that hot and or fresh for all the wait and inherent hoopla. ------------------------- +1 The customer service that I received yesterday later evening from the gal at the window was quite good, asked for salt and she gave me a whole Poppies smaller size mashed potatoes cardboard cup thing with lots of them to keep in the car etc... Also was friendly and responsive etc.... +1 It's Poppies I guess could have gotten the spicy sandwich with extra excellent paste conceptual sauce on the side (Possibly speculating and guessing, Creole and Cajon's version of a Korean Gochujang concept, also excellent and legendary by the way), instead of the smaller just chicken family pack. Ps ordered spicy, family wasn't shure if it was spicy thought maybe original. Thus implying maybe it's not the most organized place (Obviously). ------------------------- Conclusion and partially abridged summary: Not terrible, per say, other than the mouse rat (in fairness) "?Only Outside?", and the maybe fingernail punched "Bayou Buffalo"(which wasn't free and costed by the way) and not great in terms of efficiency of the drive through line to freshness and inherent quality ratios not impressed overall mediocre experience. It's pretty obvious that the owner of this place needs to roll up their sleeves and eat some spinach: Start taking notes, Pal or Gal, LOL! Bonus : ) Popeye The Sailor Man Classic Collection HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSdz5ln2rME

Yelp
Worst service you could imagine. Completely inept staff who take no pride in making food or serving patrons. Dirty seating areas, unsanitary bathrooms and workers that don't respond to inquiries or make eye contact. Food order took 27 minutes and when our food was ready not a peep on the order number or what was in the order. If zero stars was an option I'd use it. Steer clear of this place, even if you are a Popeyes fan.
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Pretty good Popeyes. The wait is usually excessive but that is to be expected. I've never been to a Popeyes in any city with no wait. They have never messed up my order and everything is always as expected.

Art T.

Yelp
Loved the chicken. But staff is disorganized. Cashier took my order at 12.05. I got my to-go order at 12.40. And they'd to change my white meat to dark because they ran out and the next batch wouldn't be ready for another 8 mins. Granted it's lunch time, but they should have it down by now.
google avatar

Todd Ø.

Yelp
The place isn't great, but the times I've been here were ok. What I find surprising is how crazy expensive the regular menu prices are. $29 for an 8pc chicken without sides? And I thought KFC was pricy! I always use a coupon, so for $7, I got a 3pc spicy tender combo which was pretty good. The wait times are long since they claim to always be shorthanded-maybe if they paid a decent wage, that might not happen.
google avatar

Juan W.

Yelp
This was sooo bad. 20 minute line. Bun was stale chicken was old and chewy. The cheese paper was left on the cheese. Fries were cold and greasy. Possible the worst fast foot store in the neighborhood
google avatar

Nichole B.

Yelp
Love Popeyes Chicken. Always taste fresh. Biscuits are warm and fluffy. So good with the honey.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
The chicken sandwiches are awesome but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I have visited the Renton and Kent locations over the last 3 months and the service is pretty similar. Disinterested customer service staff at the drive through windows mumble and shove your food at you. The experience inside the store is just as bad. Store was dirty, trash overflowing and team members talking loudly in the kitchen. I went to the Kent location to pick up an order that I placed on line. I waited for my turn in line and was told by the counter worker that they did not have my order. She then said "that will be $40.00 +/-" I asked, for what. She said that is the amount that is on my register and you need to pay that. I left my food there and walked out vowing never to return. LIke I said, the food is good but the service is horrendous.
google avatar

Jaylan J.

Yelp
Adding to the other reviews, steer clear of here. Waited 45 minutes for 2 chicken sandwiches. They hadn't even started the order after 30minutes when we asked where our order was. They were completely ignoring the online orders. Completely ruined Popeyes for me and won't be coming back.
google avatar

Alison S.

Yelp
I've never been satisfied with the portion size, taste, temperature, ants in my drink cup, and once didn't even receive my entire order (though that could be Door Dash's fault).

Yelp
For the best chicken sandwich, it's been between Popeyes and Chick-fil-A, and I must say, Chick-fil-A all the way. However, I will say that Popeyes has a red beans and rice that is worth the drive. Needing to get out of the house after working all day on a computer, I decided to go out for a drive south, something I'd never want to do during rush hour traffic. And, my mom and I kept debating about the best chicken sandwich, so I had Popeyes on my mind. Since the outbreak has fewer cars on the road, it only took me 15 minutes to get to Renton. The drive-thru line was long, but it went by quickly. I finally wanted to try the chicken sandwich that I had heard so much about. I also ordered a three-piece tender combo meal, mostly because I wanted the red beans and rice and biscuit that came with. The food wasn't bad. The tenders had a batter that was very crispy, but personally, I found the batter to be too much. I also ordered my tenders to be spicy, but there was hardly any spice on there. Although I ordered three pieces, they actually gave me four, so can't complain too much. The red beans and rice though was the winner. It was just as I remembered it years ago when I last had Popeyes. I also ordered my chicken sandwich spicy, which was much spicier than the tenders. But for any spice fans, it was on the lighter side. The soft bun is the only thing of this sandwich that beats Chick-fil-A. Otherwise, Chick-fil-A takes the win. Overall, the Popeyes chicken wasn't as juicy or plump. I don't dislike Popeye', but I think for my chicken sandwich fix it's still just a drive down the street for me to Chick-fil-A. But the red beans and rice has me wanting to get the family size for next time. Glad to have finally eaten at Popeyes after so long.

Yelp
A friend got chicken and I was really surprised by how good it was for a fast food type place. Had only had Popeye's once or twice before at another location and wasn't expecting much. Had the regular, non-spicy chicken that was really crunchy which is how I like it. Also had some of their mashed potatoes and gravy and onion rings. Not a fan of the gravy but the rings were big and well made. Fast service considering they were busy.

Yelp
I'm going to echo what all the other reviews say about the long long long lines. I was not prepared for the fact that I was going to be waiting in line for 45 minutes. Good Lord it was the longest 45 minutes of my life with two kids in the back of my car, we had never tried Popeyes before and I told them after the soccer game we would try it now onto what is important .....the food.... Everything we had was amazing. I'm not sure what the other reviews were talking about with poorly seasoned food or undercooked but everything we ordered was awesome. We ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes, chicken tenders, a regular chicken sandwich, coleslaw, biscuits, and it all tasted really good. Customer service.... That is to be desired. The gentleman at the window had probably had a long day, and I'm going to give him grace for that. The fact that I had already waited in line for 45 minutes I was going to check my order after he handed it to me before I drove off because the lobby is closed. You have no other option or recourse after you leave. He handed me my food, and I patiently sat there and went through my order to make sure I had gotten Everything. Low and behold they were missing two items. I let them know that, and he just said to me. "hand me the bag". He took it back through the window and unpacked the bag again to verify that I was in fact, right. He then opened the window and said so you're missing blank and blank and I said yes, he put them in the bag along with the other food, and handed me my bag back. When I got home, I realized he forgot to put my sauces back in the bag but at this point I was already home. Cost: I think it's pretty expensive for a fast food chicken place. I spent nearly $60 to get 45 minutes of my life taken away and attitude at the window.

Yelp
First off, if your lobby is closed, disable your mobile ordering. Other Popeyes location do that when their lobby is closed. I order via the mobile app for pickup. I work very close and usually walk to pick up my order. When I got there, the lobby was closed. So I tried to get the manager's attention to explain to her I walked instead of drove here. She yelled at me to use the drive-thru. I know people aren't suppose to walk through the drive-thru, but I had already paid for my food and the manager wouldn't let me explain why I walked. So I walked in the drive thru lane. When I got to the intercom, the lady yelled at me that I'm not suppose to walk through the drive-thru. I told her I know that and I was trying to tell her I walked here to pick up my order. She said the manager will see me out back. When they manager got outside, she handed me my food and told me the lobby has been closed for a long time. I told her I've ordered via the mobile app and picked up before. She said the lobby has been closed for over 2 months. That's not true because the month before I was able to order online and pickup in the lobby. I tried to explain to her again why I walked. She then proceeds to tell me if I don't have a car then don't order online and stormed off. Wow... there's plenty of people that don't have a car or don't drive to work. To top it off, the food was cold and soggy as hell. Not to mention, most of the workers were sitting around in the dining area when I got there. So much for staff shortage.

Yelp
Don't go to this Popeye lo location , worst ever, closes early and long drive thru wait. Don't order on the app, or you will have your car idling for an hour. Not good for your wallet not good for the environment

Yelp
I keep wanting this place to be good. And it keeps disappointing me. It's so slow. I just spent 45 minutes in the drive thru line, and that's not an unusual time. I asked very clearly for 3 different sauces (mustard, buffalo, bbq), and ended up with a fist full of ketchup, hot sauce, and jelly packets. Jelly! Grape jelly, which is absolutely disgusting, before being given it for fried chicken! And popcorn shrimp! WTF!? So gross! (Yes, it's probably for the biscuits, but even that is just horribly revolting. Ughh!) No sauce containers at all. Had to flag down someone inside since the dining room is still closed. Asked again for mustard, buffalo, and bbq sauces, showing receipt. They tried to get me to go back through the drive thru, but I didn't want to go through the 45 minute line again for sauce! So they gave me some buffalo, some bbq, and.... cocktail sauce? I never asked for cocktail sauce. No mustard. I've been here for over an hour and am done trying to get them to just give me what I ordered. To sum up, the service is super slow, and not very good. The chicken is good, but you might not get what you ordered. Don't try to be helpful and pull forward without double checking your order though. Edit: on closer inspection I got 2 buffalo, 1 bbq, 3 cocktail, and a sweet heat. So less than 50% success rate on second try. And more than 50% thrown right in the trash. Plus the handfuls of ketchup, jelly, and hot sauce packets. So more like 75% of the sauces. Really wasteful, but I didn't ask for them and they weren't wanted by anyone else. I asked specifically for different sauces than was normal, like mustard for popcorn shrimp, instead of cocktail. Because I love shrimp, hate cocktail sauce. But instead of getting mustard like I asked, I got 3 cocktail sauces! Which were promptly thrown in the trash. I asked repeatedly in the drive thru, and again listed the sauces I wanted in person to the second guy! I also received 2 orders of regular tenders instead of 1 reg 1 spicy. All the biscuits joined the jelly in the trash. They were hockey pucks and not worth the effort to fix them. The chicken has been pretty good so far. As long as you have your own sauces at home. I'm giving a 1 star because despite the chicken being good, because it took 45 minutes to get and because of the mistakes with the order and sauce. Plus the general feel I got of 'whatever, I don't care' from the window employee, the people I could see working inside from the drive thru, and the one I flagged down inside. I had been picking up several orders for friends in the area and immediately after this I went to kfc. Service was quick, the guy was friendly, and my friend got exactly what she had ordered. It was Halloween, and when the kfc guy remarked on the popeyes bag I just told him it was 'The Nightmare before KFC'. Worst part is the sauces that were correct weren't very good either. Like I said at first, I just wish this place was better!

Yelp
This place makes the best fried chicken in town. But unfortunately, they're don't know how to run a business. I waited in drive thru for an hour to get my food.

Yelp
Worst location! Why do they let you order it online but you still have to wait at the drive through which takes over an hour!

Yelp
When the food comes out bussin, Renton Popeyes is a 10/10. One of the few Popeyes you can actually count on to serve it up right. They got the authentic Popeyes staff with some soul in them too, the way it should be! Keep servin em up Renton

Yelp
I agree with other reviews. Go to any other Popeyes but here! Went here for lunch break with my coworker and the drive through took over 45minutes! From 5:55pm-6:50pm!!! Who is even managing this restaurant?!

Yelp
Steer clear of this location and if you must, do not use mobile order. Lobby is closed so I am in the line at the drive through about 10 cars. Waited 40 min to be at the speaker, indicated I was picking up an Doordash order for Name. Told me they got it and to pull up. When I got to the window, they couldn't find my order, told me the order was already picked up and they wont make it again, despite me showing them the order on my Doordash app. So they screwed up by giving the order to someone else but decide to screw me over instead of taking responsibility. If you enjoy being screwed over by incompetent people, please visit this location.

Yelp
Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a fast food location in general. Management was abysmal and customer service was rude. Even though there were a lot of staff there, it took nearly 25 minutes for my food to come out (I was dining in). The food was very subpar too, not as good as other Popeyes locations. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Trash.

Yelp
People should quit going to this location! It has gotten complaints about service for a while now and it never changes. The crew today literally didn't give a crap if your order got out or not. And you can't just walk away if you've ordered online. You should avoid the aggravation.....
