Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

This Popeyes seriously needs to get it together. I ordered a 6 Tenders combo with 2 sides and a popcorn shrimp, and they managed to mess it up twice. The first time they gave me the wrong order, even after I confirmed my number with the cashier. They insisted it was mine, so I trusted them and left. When I got home, I found out it wasn’t even close to what I ordered. I drove all the way back, and instead of remaking my food fresh, they just gave me back the same cold food. And to make it worse, when I got home again, they had still forgotten one of my sides, the mashed potatoes with gravy. This is just unacceptable. Nobody checks orders, nobody cares, and the service is beyond careless. How hard is it to double-check before handing food out? Complete waste of time and money. Never coming back.

The chicken was good, crispy and hot. The red beans and rice was good. My issue is they charged me a beverage tax as well as the state sales tax. I have never seen a beverage tax on a receipt before.

Not a good Popeyes location. They stop taking app orders thirty minutes before closing. You can still place the order on the app, but then you deal with the refund on your own. After a few minutes of asking, they finally said they would process it. I ordered bone in wings, but they gave me boneless. The fries were cold, soggy, and oily. The biscuit was hard. The soda machine was missing several flavors and had no ice. They even stuffed a plastic trash bag in the ice dispenser opening. The soda came out warm. The wings had so much dry seasoning in one spot that you get a strange taste in your mouth.

Several months ago I ordered a Classic Flounder Fish Sandwich Combo at this restaurant. As I was eating my sandwich, I was shocked to see strains of hair embedded in my meal. Finding out that your food is contaminated is very unpleasant. I later, reached out to the cooperation about my experience at this restaurant and my complaint was totally dismissed.

(split my food with family + friends, hence the half burger) We ordered takeout and overall the food was good, the environment when picking up was a bit sus (not the actual employees but the patrons at the store). Here's a breakdown of the food: Fries weren't as crispy as I'd hoped and were a bit tough but the seasoning was decent The classic chicken sandwich was good though I could taste the oil oozing out from the chicken 😅 The signature chicken was great, really juicy and crispy! Mashed potatoes tasted like normal mashed potatoes Biscuit also tasted like a normal biscuit, decently fresh and wasn't too dense Chicken tenders were decently crispy, but didn't have a lot of meat and the seasoning was very very light Mac and cheese did not have very stringy cheese, it was a bit soggy throughout

Above average experience for a standard fast food chain. Clean interior, fast and efficient service, and a large parking lot. The biscuit was surprisingly delicious, the fries were addictively good, and the spicy fried chicken was pleasantly crispy and well seasoned and cooked.

They forgot my large fries order and gave me the wrong dessert. The cheese was cold and food tasted like frozen food that had been microwaved. Last time I'll get chicken from this place especially given a much better experience ill likely get from their competition near by.

Is what it is..chickens hot and tasty mash potatoes and gravy are good. Need extra gravy to pour over the chicken! I ordered chicken wings but they were drenched. Maybe put sauce on the side instead. The Popeyes on De Anza has a different atmosphere which is a plus+

Chicken was crispy. I ordered less than I wanted because it's pricey. Service was good and they had my order pretty fast.

I've never had Popeyes so offensively bad that I felt the need to leave a one star review. HOLY HELL AVOID THIS CHAIN!! I'm going to let the picture of my strips do the talking because this image truly is worth more than 1000 words. Literally no breading on the chicken and it's almost NOTHING for what you paid.

Broken soda machine, no ice, not cold, low carbonation, and half the drinks were missing. If it's broken don't sell drinks. Restrooms were also closed.

The food was good and A-OKAY as it's Popeye's, a known quality when it comes to fast food fried chicken. The only issue we had was one of the food items, a side order of mashed potato was missing from the order we placed "to go" and it's always disheartening when an order is missing an item that we assume should be correct in a bag without feeling the need to check a restaurant's work. I know accidents happen, but now if/when I return to this location, I feel compelled to check my order every single time, so my confidence and trust has been compromised by this minor incident.

Food was good and hot, service was not. I usually order on the app, but I made the grave mistake of ordering in store today. I started my order by redeeming my points in the app for a five piece tender combo. I should've stopped myself and backed away when I saw the look of utter confusion on the cashier's face. She genuinely looked at the Popeyes app as if it was an Icelandic rune. She scanned the app, used the points, and then did not apply the item to my receipt. When the food came out suspiciously fast (no kidding, I was still filling my soda when they called our number!), I knew something was wrong. Upon inspection, we realized the five piece combo was not inside the bag. We returned to the counter and the cashier could not summon an ounce of empathy or customer service to help the situation. She immediately called her manager, who was equally unapologetic and apathetic. After I explained the situation, she said "it wasn't their fault, it was the system's fault". She said they would replace the item as a courtesy, as if she were doing me a favor. As if her poorly-trained cashier was not at fault for obviously having no idea how to apply the reward redemption. Blatant lack of customer service like this is why I will not return to this location.

I have visited this location several times both drive thru and inside both visits are about the same. Wait can be challenging but I enjoy the menu. Service can be spotty but never an issue. I prefer not to visit indoors due to the amount homeless people but on most days it's not an issue. Dinning room is clean.

I've gone to this place like 5 times somehow, minor to severe food poisoning every time. This place has serious quality control issues. I've seen like actual mystery items in my Mac n cheese. Whenever I order wings it always comes with mystery fries. Lots of cross contamination always get sick.

RIPOFF JOINT Ordered a 5 piece box. It was all wings. No customer service response and the outlet wouldn't even reply.

I ordered a Ghost Pepper Chicken Sandwich with bacon and cheese, and no pickles. However, when I received it, there was no bacon or cheese, and it still had pickles.

Today I went to buy a combo of tenders for my pregnant wife and while I was eating I discovered this unpleasant and long hair.

I am the biggest Popeyes fan ever ask anyone and I've been to this location a number of times the past 4yrs Redwood City and San Jose are usually my go-to spots though. I was so disappointed and embarrassed honestly I got sandwiches for my friends that never been to Popeyes or never had the sandwich and they were terrible. Literally shoved all 8 sandwiches and fries into one bad smushed them in fries were soggy the sandwiches some barely had sauce some didn't even have the sauce. I hyped it up so much and I could tell the look on everyone's face like "this is what you been going on about". It was so sad I could've just went to KFC if i wanted soggy bland chicken. And they literally just opened so how could the food be so terrible and it's not like they were busy it was just rushed and sloppy. This was the closest location to my work at the time but I will gladly take a longer lunch and lose money to go to a different location to get the quality. And I used a bunch of points WHICH I CAN'T GET BACK Over the years you can tell the management must've changed but whatever is going on right now isn't it.

Today i placed an order by DoorDash for a delivery, i ordered 3 drinks, specifically cokes, the dasher informed me that the drink machine wasn't working, so i contacted directly to DoorDash costumer service and they told there is nothing they can do, so they asked me to contact Popeye's directly, when the guy of Popeye's costumer service answer the phone, the service was terrible, he had a bad attitude, and he didn't wanted to give me a refund, he didn't give me any other options for drinks, and refused to help me. I will not order here never again!

Please avoid this store. The worst staff especially the store manager. They got my order wrong. They went to the store and showed them the actual order. They just smirked and didnt even budge to correct order. The store manager just went inside without any care whatsoever. Zero professionalism. Its so strange as how they land up getting the job of managing a store.

This place is terrible in every way. I placed an order on the app and went in to pickup my order. They said they already cleaned up and are no longer serving sandwiches. They also told me I had to figure out how to get a refund through the app on my own. Very rude and didn't care to offer any help at all. I looked it up and there is no way to get a refund or cancel order in the app. It has to be handled in the store. I had to argue with the very rude manager for 20 minutes just to get a refund when they are the ones that refused to make the food. (The order was placed well before closing time at least 25 minutes before closing)

Guy at register refused to honor coupons. Offered much less value order for way more money. Will cross the street to chick fil A.

I hate this popeyes location. A few months ago I ordered wings here with sauce on the side like I always do as driving home with sauced wings make them soggy. Came here to pick up, and behold they put sauce on the wings. When you order via app, on the receipt it doesn't say sauce on the side and they refused to do anything about it. I just left and did a chargeback, didn't come here for soggy wings. Today I did another in-app order for some sandwiches and I had a tell-popeyes code on a receipt I wanted to redeem. They refused to redeem it saying because I had a survey coupon previously on the receipt it's not allowed. I have to buy something else to use it, wait what? I always buy something in-app, if I remember about the tell-popeyes receipt then I use it, if not I don't even bother. As a business you're going to refuse service? Okay, well.. I guess I'll never come to this popeyes location again. It seems like they don't understand basic customer service.

This location is under new managment. The food and the service is now much better than it was under the previous owners.

Would help if cashier spoke English and have working bathrooms. Good job team! The food was ok. There is plenty of better places to eat at this plaza.

They are on fire sometimes! When they're on, the chicken is quite exceptional. Sometimes I feel like a little bit more burnt chicken and I go there later in the day. they'll gladly segment out some pieces that are more crispy.

I got their signature chicken there yesterday and the chicken had gone sour and foul to the point it would have been a health violation. They are clearly using bad, stale chicken and sadly i should have seen the reviews before i got it.

I have the Popeyes app. I suggested to my sister that we go here as I saw that there was a 10 Pc family meal for $26.99. I asked the cashier about this. To my surprise, she was extremely rude, stating this this deal was not at this location and proceeded to add that I needed a code if I wanted to use it. My sister seeing how rude this lady was, simply gave her, her credit card and didn't care about the deal. I looked at my app and informed this lady that I had the code. I began reading it her, and in her rude moody voice she said she needed to see the code herself. I will not be going back. If you're miserable in your job, get another one, so that you don't treat people with such disrespect, especially when they are there with their children.

Been awhile since I was here last. The guy at the counter was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. However, there was a lot of fried chicken prepared and people who placed orders online/Doordash were also waiting. We got our food after a bit and was shocked that it was hot. Food is very consistent, service not so much.

This location now charges for sauce. Pathetic and greedy management isn't making enough money, I guess.

I highly encourage you to check your order before leaving the store. This location sometimes has a bad habit of missing an item or two. I feel like 1 out of 4 visits or so resulted in me missing something like fries, mashed potatoes, sauces, etc. The service is decent, Most of the employees are a bit friendly, but they sometimes give you a bit of an attitude when you noticed an item missing. Some of them have a tone of voice that they're annoyed at you for being there. Food quality is thankfully consistent in my experience. *Knock on wood* Overall, this location could definitely be better all around. It's sadly the only Sunnyvale location, so I only come here once in a while when I'm really craving it.

customer service sucks, I was unable to seat down to eat since they already clean up the restaurant, the menu was turn off and they didn't care I have to look on my phone to get a menu. hopefully the food is good.

I thought Popeyes was always better than KFC until last 5 years.... I asked for spicy they gave me regular with some spice sauce like huh? It was all Spanish workers barely knowing any English. As if they're were programmed to say everything. Hey the sides were pretty good compared to KFC but not as excellent as they used to be to be. Next the drinks I'm not too peaky about drinks but I would much rather prefer original Pepsi dispensers over fake Coke machines (Hi KFC). There's a reason why McDonalds went back to original coke dispensers over the new cartage shit. And why the fck are you closing 1 hour and a half earlier than your closing time? If I could rate this store 0 no... -2 I would but I guess I'll stick to 1 star.

Santa Clara location prices are lower. It's ridiculous how these prices can vary greatly amongst these franchises. The 16 pc family meal is almost $10 higher here. The price of the other menu items are also higher. If you're gonna have higher prices, at least have chicken ready, not a few pieces waiting under the food warmer. It was shortly before noon today (Wednesday) and the cashier asked if I wanted to substitute a couple of pieces to fulfill my order. NO!!! Maybe you should tell the guy at the fryer to keep the fried chicken coming and stop chatting with the lady wating to fill the orders. It's lunch time! The rack should be full of chicken ready to go for the lunch crowd. People don't have all day to wait for their food.

read online that Popeyes fish sandwich was the BEST. it was ok, but for $7.99 you think they could toast the bun. Service was terrible. if you order online NOTE they cannot process refund you have to email Popeyes to get one. The woman ahead of me wanted unsweetened tea. she asked the counter help several times for help with the drink machine touchscreen. finally the manager checks it and that selection is empty and they had no refill. But for a refund she would have to email. unlikely to go back

I ordered #3 sandwich bacon and cheese and 2 spicy #1 sandwiches only and NONE OF THEM had cheese or bacon. I paid an extra 3$ for a same price of a regular chicken sandwich. Whoever makes the sandwich in the back must relearn how to cook one because that's ridiculous. Never going to this POPEYES EVER AGAIN!!

This is normally my to go spot when the munchies hit for something quick & yummy. It's honestly a hit or miss with missing/ incorrect order. The food is good, and customer service is on point, but they 50/50 they will either get the order correct or missing items. I highly recommend just checking your food order before heading out. I learned my lesson after the 3rd mistake. Will still be my to go spot !

Waste of money unless you like salty fries and bland chicken. Customer service is abysmal - watched the cashier call a big hairy guy "ma'am" - he needs to get his vision checked. The staff is short tempered and unfriendly. They act like they're doing you a favor by taking your order. Replace them with self service kiosks and have them focus on making it a better dining experience or better quality food. The drink machine needs cleaned. Most of the flavors taste like floor cleaner. The ice has a sour taste. I don't think they clean this at all. The fries are so salty - they don't have any other flavor, just salt. Their ketchup is just vinegar and tomato, very sour. Avoid the Cajun Sparkle packets, they're mostly pepper and salt mixed with vinegar. The chicken is lackluster - tastes like unseasoned flour and the meat was wet. Not juicy moist, but wet and slightly undercooked. The biscuits - there's a reason there's memes about getting choked by them. They're dry and you could use them to scrub the floors. All in all, give this place a pass. It's not worth the money to go there for mediocre food.

I ordered 12 pc chicken boneless chicken wings, a sandwich (promo), and sauces through the Popeyes website. But I only received chicken wings. there were no sauces and a sandwich. So, I called the branch (802 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087) at 5:40 pm and requested to deliver the missing items. But the employee said I have to visit the store and get them because they are so busy. So, I said I couldn't visit, and then he said, "OK," and hung up immediately. He was rude even though It was their mistake. I suffered a loss due to their mistake, which was very unpleasant and uncomfortable.

A satisfactory Popeyes spot. All the items were very fresh, and they had all the fixings (honey, hot sauce, etc.) it is also one of the cleanest and most well organized Popeyes I've visited. Just wish the pieces were larger! 3 piece meal, chicken sandwiches, and apple pies are all solid choices.

Fried chicken sandwich was crispy, and not greasy, had not been sitting around in a bag getting soggy like chic fil an and only got water to drink. Sodas and fries are bad for you

I swear you think you can resist the hype but sometimes it gets the better of you. Your resistance is vastly lowered when you have a teenager wearing you down as only they can. Such is the case here. Yes we went in to try the sandwich that people literally in one case killed for. And as with most things, the build up for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich seldom matches the reality....... Don't get me wrong its a good chicken sandwich, but that's about it. The Sandwich. Its a classic southern fried chicken sandwich, A decent sized piece of chicken that was well fried and the buttermilk batter was tasty as well. The pickles added a briny taste and the spicy mayo added a bit of sweetness to the affair. On my scale the heat level was decent but nowhere near spicy. The brioche was okay, but it was more like spongy brioche lite IMHO. Service was on par for a fast food restaurant SO there you have. Would I wait in line for this above and beyond normal? No. Would I order it again if I were there? Yes. If I was forced to pick between Chick-Fil-A and this one, they are close enough that I would chose the one that was closer.

Would you walk 10 minutes to this restaurant, wait in line 20 minutes to place your order, wait 10 minutes for the order to be ready, and then walk 20 minutes back home, just for a chicken sandwich? Came here a week ago on a weekday late morning, and the place was empty. Returned today, 10:50am, and the line was twenty deep and out the door. Popeyes' brand new super hyped chicken sandwich, which sold out 2 months worth of chicken sandwiches in one week in August, is back! Reviewed as vastly superior to Chick-Fil-A's chicken sandwich, people have literally died to get their Popeye's chicken sandwich! Mainly a young audience, with several hi tech company workers in line, from their company badges, including Apple computer. Not only young, but primarily Asian. And Chick Fil A is only 250 yards away, and Bonchon chicken 1.1 miles away down on El Camino Real. Only one of two cashiers on duty. Takes 20 minutes for me to get to the head of the to order line. 2 spicy chicken sandwiches to go, at $3.99 each. Receipt comes out at 11:12am. In the background, all hands on deck making chicken sandwiches, trying to stay ahead of the crushing demand. Place is packed, with full occupancy of only 48 for this restaurant. By 11:22am, they call out my name, and I pick up my to go order, and some free Louisiana hot sauce packets, walking 20 minutes to home. First thing I notice is that the piece of breaded chicken is huge, like 1" thick, or 3" x 5" x 1" or 15 cubic inches of chicken, double the thickness of Chick-Fil-A, at about the same price. Slab of breaded chicken on a very light buttery bun, with two slices of pickles, and spicy hot creamy mayonaise. The breading has onion, garlic, and hot chili spices, and that together with the pickles, makes the meal tasty, enhancing the flavor of the fresh juicy chicken breast. Didn't try the hot Louisiana hot sauce, as it was not needed, and the mayonnaise was just enough to add flavor to the meal, without overwhelming the chicken flavor. Told by others that the online app to order had crashed. What, in the heart of Silicon Valley!? Now would I wait 20 minutes in line to order and an additional 10 minutes for the order to be ready? Even for a 5 star sandwich, no way Jose!

Horrible service!! They don't even know their menu deals!! I feel that they should know their deals instead I had to pay overpriced for just few pieces of chicken !!!

We ordered online 10 piece chicken with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with biscuits. The order was ready when we go there, yay! Got home and started to devour it! Can't go wrong with their chicken, so crispy! Mashed potatoes was delicious as always. First time trying their mac and cheese...ugh, why is it so good?!! I was missing out!

Not really crazy over Po Lo ki at all man, I am gonna be real here. It's just not good, I don't feel energetic about eating this chicken. Or after either. Got a regular chicken sandwich combo no spice. With fries and a diet soda. Fries were good, soda not so much and the chicken sandwich did not amuse me at all, I needed to eat lunch while in Sunnyvale with a friend. The mayo was gross and way to much on the bun. My friend got a signature Chicken meal with a biscuit and 2 sides and they liked the chicken. Res is covid safe, 6 f a, large menu, lots of staff, lots of app orders lots of people going in and out this place. This place is very popular with locals and all kinds of folks. Ki is not for me. No thank you. Enso forever +- Online order. Parking is tricky on a Sunday afternoon. Hand sani, larger inside, friendly. _No!

The chicken was crispy and taste look ok. I got the chicken for my kid by first time and she said it good

Used to be good but now there is no option to order former regular fried chicken which was supposed to be on their menu instead they replaced with spicy chicken. They say it's not spicy but for those who are not into spicy foods, this is not a good menu option & not to mention the cost is more pricey than other pizza restaurants who have fried chicken on their menu. Very disappointed.

What to do for a quick bite to eat and curious if all the hype about the chicken sandwich is true? Gotta at least try it! Ok, so I think the sandwich is meh. The buns were somewhat soggy because it was wrapped in the sandwich wrapper, which squished it. The chicken itself has too much batter for my taste. Nothing special in the sauce. I have never been that type of person who would stand in long lines for food, or anything for that matter. It would not warrant a second visit, just for the chicken sandwich. I have had better.

If I have to rate my best eats in California Bay Area Popeyes definitely stands at the top of list. I mean be it a hectic day or chicken meal date Popeyes burger and lemonade is the one that flashes out in my mind. I ordered Spicy Chicken sandwich,Chicken Tenders and Premium strawberry lemonade. Lemonade is out of the world and must try.Spicy chicken sandwich is SOO juicy and filling and chicken tenders were crispy as usual. Popeyes fills not just my hunger but my heart as well.

Today it was really bad. The pieces I received was very dry and cold. I can't believe this. This the worst pieces I have ever received. As you can see in the photo, it showing the features of dry part. Definitely been there over 4 hours. Some pieces were cold. Soda Machines didn't have any drinks. Didn't receive honey, ketchup or anything. All of employees were wearing mask half way, Thier noses were out and constantly touching their faces. Oh my night mare going on here. And this serious. My chickens were taste like shrimp. Are you sure you can fry your chicken in a the same fryer as shrimp? Have you guys ever considered this dangerous to somebody? Unbelievable!!

I finally had a chance to try their famous fried chicken sandwich! Sadly, it wasn't as amazing as I was hoping- another overhyped item :( I was debating between 3-3.5 stars for a while. However, it was lacking in spice (super super mild) and also with sauce. I thought this sandwich was a lot more filling than the one from Chick Fil A, and I would order this again but see if I can request it to be spicier and with more sauce. It's definitely worth trying once, but I wouldn't stand in line.
