"If you’re after handmade pasta or buttery pastries, then Pophams is where you want to order from. The popularity of this Hackney bakery means that things go fast. Check their Instagram bio for the link to pre-order." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"We once described Pophams’ croissants as ‘a top, top, top croissant’. That’s three ‘tops’ people. If that doesn’t convince you enough to order from this excellent Hackney bakery, their menu will. Expect pain au chocolats, sweet homemade granola, and their signature bacon and maple pastry. Heads up, you’ll need to pre-order and be aware that the pastries sell-out fast." - heidi lauth beasley
"After several laps at London’s sceniest lido, you might not be in the mood to walk far. Bakery and all-round serene spot Pophams is just a three-minute stroll away. Get involved in some of the savoury pastries—our favourite is the Marmite, schlossberger, and spring onion swirl. Then you may as well finish on a sweet note with a seasonal fruit-stuffed situation." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna
"When we first discovered Pophams, we felt more at home there than we did in our actual homes. Mostly because we thought we’d have an in-house pastry chef by this point in our lives. But now that Pophams have a new takeaway and delivery service you can pretend that you do by placing an order via this link for the following week. If you live near either their Hackney or Islington spots then you can takeaway from there." - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Porchetta Focaccia Sandwich Another day, another sandwich. Given that restaurants are still closed to indoor and outdoor dining, we now spend a lot of our time enjoying the quintessential park bench meal, the sandwich. That being said, few sandwiches are as good as the one we stumbled upon from Pophams Hackney. The pork filling is part meat, part melt-in-your-mouth fat, and - ding ding ding - part crackling, all covered in wild garlic mayo, apple ketchup, and a handful of fennel seeds. Truly a meal between bread, the focaccia is also fantastic with a perfectly brown crust and just the right amount of bite. A lunch for the ages." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
