Our family has a tradition of celebrating Christmas at a fine dining restaurant each year,m and this time we chose Popinjays. It’s our first visit and we all enjoyed it so much. We all rated it the best Xmas meals and Italian cuisine we have eaten over the years. All the food was amazing and beautifully presented. My personal favorite was the tomato pasta, simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was just as memorable. With a breathtaking night view and a warm, festive atmosphere, the setting was perfect for a holiday celebration. The live DJ and musician added a vibrant energy to the evening, and the dancer’s performance was a true highlight. Overall, we were all very satisfied with our evening at Popinjays. I have seen mixed reviewed about the food in here, I hope they can uphold the high standard as we are already looking forward to the next visit.

Popinjays is a gem perched high above the city, offering not only breathtaking views but also an exceptional dining experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt refined yet welcoming. The service was consistently attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. A special mention must go to Rital, whose gracious demeanor elevated the evening. Rital’s intuitive sense of hospitality made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another diner. Her presence added a personal touch that transformed the meal into a memorable occasion.

We came here for a Birthday brunch. It's a nicely set up restaurant with great views over HK. The food was very good, especially the oysters, caviar and the cod. Service in general was excellent, though it could be a little slow with the drink refills and they did manage to give me a vodka soda at the end instead of the g&t I had been drinking during the dinner. A minor issue that wasn't wasted.

Enjoyed very much the happy hour time here(3-6 pm daily), offering drinks from $78 and snacks from $108. Starting from around 5pm, there is a DJ to have some live mixing of music. The service standard was a bit different from what I have expected, probably due to the deficiency of manpower. Foods and drinks are all great and the views are very stunning.

Excellent food, super attentive service and undeniably classy atmosphere. Honestly nothing to complain about, food was very very good. None cooked too dry, just right. Dessert was a bit underwhelming considering the quality of the mains, but honestly I'm not gonna deduct points for an overall amazing lunch here.

Popinjays, located inside the Murray Hotel, is well-known for their Disco Brunch, and we went for the Try Higher package. It includes bottomless champagne flow along with unlimited oysters and caviar, which was such a treat! While the caviar is served one box at a time, the concept is still fantastic and indulgent. The food was equally impressive. I particularly loved the grilled scampi, the baked cod, and the roasted beef—each dish was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The afternoon felt amazing, especially with such a stunning view to enjoy throughout the experience. That said, there were a couple of minor points: the water wasn’t refilled quickly enough, and there were groups of couples occasionally passing by to visit the wedding venue outside. However, it’s understandable considering the location and didn’t take away from the overall experience. A highly enjoyable afternoon, and I’d definitely recommend it for a special occasion!

The rooftop atmosphere at Popinjays is stunning. Sadly, the food and service disappointed. The red prawn pasta was unbearably salty, I couldn’t finish it. Portions were tiny and overpriced. Service was poor, no one ever refilled water for us, yet they still asked for a tip🤷🏻‍♀️. Great location, but the food and service don’t match the premium price. Won’t return.

This brunch has gone way downhill since I last went 3 or 4 years ago. I understand many F&B groups / hotels / restaurants have gone through cost-cutting exercises in Hong Kong, but this brunch has been seriously downgraded and isn't worth the $$ anymore. The menu on the website does NOT match the menu that was presented to us, completely different. Also didn't match what was sent to me via WhatsApp when I asked. Disappointing, as people often book a brunch / or any meal based on the food offer. It's also not a semi-buffet or seafood buffet anymore - everything served to table...portion control I suppose, but for the same price as what it was a few years ago I believe, so yeh, wasn't too happy with that. I asked what wines were included in the free-flow, a waitress mentioned she'll send someone to me to explain the wines. That didn't happy and after a while I asked someone else who then said "Italian" - later on when I asked for a wine, I was poured Argentinean. My champagne glass was dirty and had to be replaced. The house label caviar (unlimited with certain free-flow packages) lacked the usual caviar-like "salty" / "fishy" flavour - it was very light. It was served on the platter with oysters and roe - no spoons, we had to ask and were then given regular teaspoons, hmmm...mother of pearl spoon anyone?! That only came with our third order of caviar. The oysters weren't the best, definitely a cheaper oyster. The salmon and salad starters were ok, but small and hard to share for 4 pax, again, disappointing. The mains (meats) we had to send back. The veal was way overcooked and the lamb way under...the fish main was ok ish, but also slightly over. The photos of the meat with this review are from AFTER it had been redone. Dessert platter, nothing spectacular and is putting ginormous ice cubes into a scoop of ice another way of cost cutting? I've been to many brunches where scoops of ice cream were part of the dessert platter, but never have I ever seen this... Based on this I will not return for a brunch - a spectacular view of the city does not make up for mediocre food!

An incredible gastronomic experience for Sunday brunch. Starting from the seafood tower with lobster caviar salmon prawns and squid. Then to gorgeous scallops, pasta. Main course of succulent sea bass, lamb chops and steak with foie gras. Desserts were a visual and taste experience. Stylish dining room and attentive staff. The meal took a very relaxed 2.5 hours so we got to really savour the experience. A great time with a big bill to match at $1000HK each.
