Poppy's Bagels LaGuardia Review - LaGuardia Airport - New York - The Infatuation

"If you want a full breakfast before an early morning flight, Poppy’s Bagels will ensure you don’t arrive at your destination hangry. Get a massive bagel sandwich loaded up with avocado, turkey, and a runny egg, or the big poppy with smoked fish, red onions and caper cream cheese. Both of those come with a side of adorable star-shaped tater tots that take you right back to your elementary school cafeteria." - Anne Cruz

Was traveling and as we were waiting for our plane, we got some breakfast. It was def on the pricer side, but I will say that we got 2 good bagels. It was so delicious that I still think about it to this day! When we were there, they seemed to have still been prepping and just opening up. They had tablets to order it yourself, but there were some issues with it so we were waiting by the register, which there was a worker there, and he did not help us out, although he noticed us. After a couple mins, they helped us out and too our order.

It looked nice/clean and I appreciated the self-ordering on touch screen. The bagels were decent but the ‘schmear’ was majorly lacking. Partway through our flight I was excited to have a late breakfast and it was super disappointing.

This is a pretty decent quick breakfast. I went with a turkey, egg, and avocado sandwich (on everything bagel), and by airport standards, it was a good sandwich. I'd probably choose this place again next time I'm in this terminal, compared to the other options nearby. There's kiosk ordering, which was pretty quick and efficient, and you could make modifications to the menu items (which you don't always get the luxury of doing at airport places). I was happy.

Got the turkey avocado egg and cheese bagel... mine was just turkey and avocado. Disappointing for $13. They were too busy to bring up the problem.

I am not saying this is the worst bagel I have ever had, but it's the worst one I have ever had from a bagel shop. Kiosks hide just bagel with cream cheese under sandwiches, so i stood at it like an idiot for like 5 minutes before I found it. I watched the bagel go through a toaster but it is somehow not toasted and its definately a bagel they picked up at the grocery store on they way to work complete with that gritty cornmealy bottom. The only good thing is at 4 bucks its cheap by airport bagel standards, unfortunately it is not so much a bagel but more like one of those baseball bat warm up donut weights that someone dropped in a tub of generic cream cheese. Between this and Breuggers getting called out on reddit for serving grocery store bagels yesterday.....something strange is a foot in the bagel game at MSP.

The WORST bagels in my life. Such a rip off for such horrible bagels. The smallest bagels ever, VERY little salmon, just traces of cream cheese and all that after huge wait. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. $1 for extra cucumber? They give you 2 super thin slices…etc etc They said the bagels would toasted, but they were not.

Kiosk was easy to order from, it was fast and only $4 for a bagel + cream cheese, but it was not a very good bagel. Bagel was dry and cold, not at all what you would expect from a bagel restaurant. But for $4 at the airport what can you expect....

The bagel was hard and flavorless, and it seemed like the staff don’t eat bagels themselves with the amount of cream cheese they used (very little). The Diet Coke we ordered also inexplicably had a vanilla taste to it. It was expensive and gross but we had a flight to catch so we didn’t have time to ask for a different drink. The staff were clearly not happy to be there. Not sure if that’s management’s fault or theirs, but it was a bad vibe either way. We will not be back.
