The Best Bagels in Los Angeles, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Born as a pop-up, Zach Liporace’s Pop’s Bagels now has multiple locations around town serving its excellent regular and gluten-free bagels. The shops have all the expected favorites, like a bacon, egg, and cheese and lox-topped bagels. For a shop signature, try the pastrami, egg, and cheese, topped with Zab’s hot sauce. The sandwiches here are available on gluten-free bagels as well, for those avoiding wheat." - Mona Holmes

15 Destinations for Supreme Bagel Satisfaction in Los Angeles

"Before owner Zach Liporace opened locations in Culver City, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, and Fairfax, Pop’s Bagels sporadically popped up around town and at Smorgasburg. In addition to bagels, lox, schmears, and breakfast sandwiches, Pop’s makes one of the best gluten-free bagels in Southern California." - Eater Staff, Mona Holmes

Middle Eastern Jaffa Closes on West Third Street Just Weeks After Palms | Eater LA

"I've noted that one of LA’s most prominent bagel pop-up spots, Pop’s Bagels, is now installed inside the Colony ghost kitchen in West LA, so I can order their bagels on UberEats or go into the space directly to pick up or dine in." - Farley Elliott

Google
delicious, high quality bagels, toppings, and cream cheese spreads! came on a wednesday morning and there was a small line, the food itself is amazing and there is a wide variety of bagel options ranging from bagels with cream cheese, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches. drinks are also available but didn’t try. it is on the pricier side with the BEC at nearly $17 without avocado… but it is in santa monica so that checks out. definitely recommend to UCLA students looking to try something new, food is great!!

Sandy E.

Google
The outside seating was very comfortable. The man behind the counter was very kind I love places with great customer service. The avocado bagel was slightly over cooked but it was still very delicious never tried anything like it before. The cinamaon bagel with cream cheese was just perfect. Would definitely come again if in the area.

Ari

Google
delicious bagels with a lot of options and are very affordable. the outdoor seating is super cute. they have iced matcha water and latte but no hot matcha.

Brennan N.

Google
Had a nice chat with Omar in the shop while I stopped by for lunch. The tuna sandwich on an everything was insane. The tuna has pieces of jalepeno mixed in for a bit of kick. The bagel was massive, crunchy on the outside, and doughy on the inside. Really, really good.

Keri B.

Google
Sonya greeted me with the warmest welcoming smile on a cold rainy day! I had never been to pop's before today and will definitely be returning. The bagels are fresh and I can't wait to eat them

Marcus S.

Google
Excellent open faced bagels. I’d recommend coming on a weekday as the line is manageable. Their avocado quality and presentation is excellent. On my second visit they over toasted my bagel but that hasn’t happened since.

Julia B.

Google
Solid bagel. Went here around 9:30 on a Saturday morning and there was no line at all. I ordered half of the tarragon chicken salad and half of the nova lox on the everything bagel. The bagel itself was nice and chewy and they were generous with the toppings.

Alec M.

Google
What kind of bagel shop doesnt have salt or egg bagels? Don't bother with these guys, NYBD has everything around the corner. Not worth the stop. Small space and unfriendly staff. Doesnt hurt to smile.

Rafael M.

Yelp
As a regular at Pops Bagel, I can confidently say that each visit solidifies why this place is a gem in the community. The aroma of freshly baked bagels hits you the moment you step through the door, promising a delightful experience every time. The team here is consistently warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Choosing from their extensive menu always poses a delightful challenge, but the Everything Bagel with cream cheese never fails to impress. It's fresh, perfectly chewy, and brimming with flavor.

Spencer M.

Yelp
best bagels and coffee in Brentwood! I'm a huge fan and the staff was really great too.

Tania Z.

Yelp
You can smell this bagel shop before you approach it. Soo good, fresh and delicious. Def recommend

Yelp
This place is delicious and Bagels are fresh and full of favor and staff is very friendly. Walk by and "smell the goodness"

Yelp
As a bagel connoisseur, I was very excited to try this spot after my good friend recommended it. I got a basic everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and veggies and it was terrible. The bagel was rock hard and stale. The price is high and the quality is very low. This is the first day of the year and we already have started it with a bad meal. No good way to start! Conclusion: I do not love Pop's. And I will not be back.
google avatar

Yelp
So that I am having some carbs these days I have been on a bagel hunt. Never been to Pop's, though I have heard good things about it, I thought I would give it a shot. So, no doubt the staff operates at a snail pace as I ordered 3 bagels to go and a lox spread and while I was second in like it took like 15 minutes to get the order. SMH. Anyway, I will ignore that for now. So, the bagels are somewhat doughy but the outside is first rate. The lox spread is by far the best in town with a huge amount of lox so that is awesome. I still rate Layla the best on this tour with NY Bagel and Deli close (spreads not so good), then Pop's and Bagel Nosh should spray paint those rocks and send them to center ice at the local hockey plant. Pretty pretty good.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place and legit come every Sunday but lately my orders have been so messed up :/ Got charged for a BAC ($22) and got a bagel just with cream cheese. Was so sad tbh
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Friendly staff, tasty bagels. One of the only places with a good vegan cream cheese and gluten-free bagel! It's super cute inside and it's such a go-to place in Brentwood!!
google avatar

Athena D.

Yelp
Yum! Great bagels and so close to home. The coffee is great too and the service is awesome.

Yelp
Best gluten free bagels in la! Love love love this bagel with tomatoes, capers, avo, bacon, onions, and cream cheese. Super easy to order ahead of time and you must get the hot sauce it is out of this world. They are sometimes a little slow but it is worth the wait! Everything tastes fresh and the flavors go together so well :)

Oh See D.

Yelp
Best Bagels in town friendly service and a great location I was very happy with their service
google avatar

Nijole T.

Yelp
The bagels here are huge and super filling! Service was friendly and store very clean and well-maintained. Prices are a bit high, but a bagel makes a full meal. Nice option for the area!
google avatar

Marriott H.

Yelp
Always looking for a good gluten free bagel near me. The gluten free bagels here are very good. They are pretty doughy, which is hard for a gluten free bagel. They are pretty pricey, but if you can't eat bagels often I would say they are worth it. If you are looking for more bang for your buck, I would recommend getting your bagel opened face as you get toppings on both sides!
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
They're bagels are so fresh and good! I got the blueberry bagel and I loved it. It was full of cream cheese and toasted to perfection. Service was also friendly and fast.

Yelp
I wanted to update my review to make it more honest, left a review that looked for the few positives as the owners are friends of my partner's family, but I honestly feel bad about it. Got pop's on the way to the airport and ordered ahead a good 20-25 minutes before arriving. I got there and they hadn't made my order because I added on a rugelach which, though available online, was no longer on the menu. They refunded that item but i stood there at least 15 more minutes for them to finish up the 2 bagel order. While standing the employees greeted some friends and were chopping it up though several folks were waiting around for their food. Meanwhile both doors are open and there were flies SWARMING in the place, being shooed from the food while made. It ended up taking 35 minutes to get a really dense, stale bagel that made a mess in the car trying to hurry and eat it to not run late for a flight. I run a restaurant and was pretty grossed out by the flies and disappointed by the service and quality. It missed most of the marks and I really regret misleading anyone who read my original review.

Yelp
Great selection of bagels. The smell from outside drew us in. Friendly staff. Give them a try.

Yelp
Best gluten free , everything bagel I've ever had !!!! And the coconut cream cheese is so fluffy !!! Wow yeastie boys doesn't compare
google avatar

Rose C.

Yelp
The bagels here are super good! I've been here twice both during the weekend around lunch. Both times I've gotten their everything bagels and they have been super super good, one the best bagels I've had in LA so far. My friend got their cinnamon raisin bagel and also said it was super good. I've had better bacon egg and cheeses before but the bagel itself is definitely the main selling point of this place. I'll have to try more of the sandwich options they have. I was a big fan of their cream cheese bagel, they did not skimp! I will say the complaints about wait time are totally warranted. Do not come here if you are in a hurry, even with online ordering I have seen my roommates wait. They can be pretty slow and occasionally lose orders, worth it in my opinion when I have time to spare but just keep it in mind! The store itself is pretty small and cute, with a nice small outdoor seating area.
google avatar

Fara A.

Yelp
The bagels are delicious. Large and a bit crunchy on the outside, not as doughy as others. The line goes out the door and the wait can be long. I preordered online and it was easy peasy to pick up. Parking can be tough in the area, too.
google avatar

Matthew N.

Yelp
Amazing vegan and gluten free options! Very hard to find this combination, even in Los Angeles. People may say you can find that combo elsewhere, but here the bagels are delicious, fresh, cream cheese is awesome, and service is fast. Also fairly priced! Great stop on the way to the beach.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Pop's has a quality bagel. My family goes here all the time and buys a dozen for when friends come over. Great vibes.
google avatar

Alisha S.

Yelp
This is the most raves about GF bagel spot in LA, so I of course had to visit during my LA trip. I was about to add lox to my bagel but that itself was an extra $10, which seemed crazy to me. I got cream cheese on a sesame bagel. Tastes MUCH more like a "regular" bagel than the ones I have at home. Not a jaw dropping place but I loved it for being gluten free and close to the real thing. It's in a great location too, so I tried Alfred's while waiting for my order.

Jonathan U.

Yelp
Got the LEO and then a loose bagel. The LEO was tasty but egg and lox easily fell out of the bagel. Loose bagel with schmear was perfect and allowed you to taste the feel the chewiness of the bagel. Next time would just get loose bagels and schmear!

Charlotte O.

Yelp
They have the best gluten free bagels in the Santa Monica area. Love the everything bagel
google avatar

MJ D.

Yelp
Good bagels. Used to be be great. Not any longer hot baked in the store and fresh piping hot to go. Hate the change, heard they have a new CFO at the company. Guess they are cutting quality to expand. They can no longer count on my loyalty by this shift
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Love this place! The service is great, the food is great, always quick service! Get the lox bagel
google avatar

Adam W.

Yelp
Google says they close at 4:00, the door says they close at 2:30, and Yelp says they close at 3:00. Got there just before 3:00 and was told they were closed. Not cool.

Suquoia G.

Yelp
Yummy bagels but they need to bring back cheddar cheese, American cheese is yucky and nobody likes it! We will pay extra for cheddar! Give the people what they want!
google avatar

Natalie Z.

Yelp
Verdict: Good, not great. Unfortunately, the babka french toast and whitefish salad were all sold out at 9:30 AM on a Saturday, so I suppose you have to get there earlier. We got the LEO (lox and scrambled egg situation) and the nova lox. The bagels were pretty good--fluffy inside and chewy on the outside--but everything else was just okay. Clark Street in Brentwood has a great loaded lox that is approximately 16-17 bucks but lasts two meals. The bagels at Pop's are a little bit better, but not by much.
google avatar

lisa b.

Yelp
So I've only ever gotten these delivered but it's sooooo good. I've had to stop myself from ordering every day

Daniela B.

Yelp
The bagels are so tasty and fresh, Stephanie is always very helpful and sweet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the Brentwood area (:
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
As a plant based person I thought the safe option would be the Nova Lox. There was all my favorite things listed on the menu board: capers, red onion, tomato, and cream cheese (vegan option) I finish eating the first half and have a weird feeling about the "tomato" texture. When i went to inspect it was SALMON?? or some type of fish. I wish they would've specified that "lox" means fish. i've never heard of it before, but now im disgusted. They won't even answer my calls. I would like them to at least specify on the menu that fish is involved. The menu board is entirely misleading.

Yelp
SERVICE - located near metro stop along with other small cafes and restaurants - nice servers - limited outdoor seating - can order online or in person - ordered online in an attempt to save time but when we got there they were pretty slow in making the bagels MENU - bagels, sandwiches, and spreads - vegan and gluten free options - well priced ($10 per sandwich) FOOD - everything bagel with vegan cashew cheese (8/10): i will preface this review by saying that I am not a huge bagel or sandwich person. That being said, I really liked the size of this bagel as it was not overwhelmingly dense. There was a good amount of everything seasoning on top to add some crunch and taste. The cashew cream cheese was smooth but runnier than a dairy based cream cheese. I liked how tomato, onion, capers, and pepper were free. WOULD I COME BACK? it was a decent sandwich so maybe if I am needing an on the go breakfast
google avatar

Jacob L.

Yelp
great bagels best in town. awesome addition to santa monica bagel scene much better than the competition
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
I'm picky about Gluten free bagels, usually they're never that good but pops bagels ARE GOOD. The only gf bagels I'll eat, friendly staff and always come out fresh !!

Jessica R.

Yelp
Love Pops Bagels! Cant wait to come back! Super friendly people who work here and an easy walk on a Sunday morning

Yelp
Amazing bagels and service! Also they have great gluten free options. Would highly recommend.

Keith G.

Yelp
sorry but your bagels are stale and not fresh. meh. The salmon cream cheese wasn't much better. Disappointed.
google avatar

Sonal P.

Yelp
Great service!!! This place is cute and quick!!! They are super nice and helpful with larger orders.

Chloe L.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bagel spot. Very friendly staff. The bacon egg and cheese and the AOC are amazing!

Oscar A.

Yelp
Best bagel spot near by. I come here every weekend for breakfast. Stephanie and the staff are always very nice and helpful. Highly recommend Pop's to anyone
google avatar

Alicia W.

Yelp
They make great bagels. They also have the best smoke salmon for sale. For Sunday you can order lox bagels ans cream cheese from them and you can ask for sliced cucumbers, tomato and onions. Makes it super easy to have people over for brunch

Hayden T.

Yelp
This place is bussin don't miss out 10/10 recommend for your trip to the city of angels
google avatar

Alisa G.

Yelp
So so sad. They use to be my favorite bagel place. It's not easy for me to get there, and I was super exited to buy a dozen and grab some tarragon chicken salad. These bagels are NOT the same! The tarragon chicken isn't the same! I'm beyond sad. Their bagels use to be a bundle knot style. Super think and twisted. Now they are flat and traditional looking. And NOT fresh. The tarragon chicken salad was mushy. And I swear I see dark neat in the salad. I'm posting two photos, one of the old style bagels and a photo of the new style plain. Completely different. I'm truly sad and i will not buy from them again.

Graham L.

Yelp
Bagels are great. Recommend the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. Pretty quick. Overall, check it out
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
I was in the area on San Vincente and decided I needed a bagel. The funny part was I was getting ready for a dentist appointment but I still have to have that damn bagel. These are very good and large bagels, but a bagel without anything else is $2.50 so it's definitely on the pricey side compared to the places I go to buy my bagels, if you happen to get them warm out of the oven, you're gonna have an excellent bagel. Mine was not hot. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely stop bye
google avatar

Dannielle G.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place is rated so low but I love pops bagels! If you're looking for a bagel sandwich that is a bit more tasty and above fast food than Noah's bagels - you'll love it here. The prices are pretty reasonable too!
google avatar

Edreese K.

Yelp
Service wonderful, food amazing! Went here on a trip during heavy rain and this place was wonderful!
