I love Pops! My very first time here was as a jr college freshman at Cerritos, just started driving, so distance was not an issue. Now in my 40's and the appreciation for this establishment is real! I walked in on a Thursday at 11:30am thinking it's during the week, it'll be nice and slow..lol. The house was packed, I was floored! I wanted so badly to take a video because it was unreal! I had a 12:30pm appt across the street so I began to get a bit nervous...
I sat myself down at the table nearest the exit so I could bee line jt when I was done. I ordered a coffee right away. Shortly after the waitress came back and took my order. I asked her what the time frame was to get my food. She said it would take 5-10 min. The entire time she had a beautiful smile on her face and her demeanor was very warm, as in she enjoyed working there- which is a breath of fresh air.
My food came right as she said it would and it was perfect! A bit later she checked on me again and even told me she'd get my check out as she knew I was in a bit of a hurry, which I totally appreciated her anticipating my needs!!!!
As I was eating my food all I could hear was tons and tons of conversations and laughter, as if it was one big party, no one was on their cell phone. I stopped and looked around and every table was full and the people at the tables looked happy to be in one another's company and no one seemed to be there on their lunch break. All these customers appeared to have the day off and sincerely just enjoying a meal at Pops cafe.
I recalled walking in to the restaurant and how quiet the street was and then being in Pops cafe- it was like transporting from the busyness of life into a realm of peace, joy, and love. It was surreal, it really was.
Maybe I had time to think on all of this and observe because I didn't have any company, but I wasn't lonely.
The service was great! The food was delish! The ambiance was love.
Whatever you're doing Pops, keep it up!
