"Pop’s Eat Rite is a casual takeout spot on St. Marks Place in the East Village that serves vegan fast food. They have three burgers on the menu that all incorporate Impossible Burger smash patties (including a rotating special), as well as dairy-free soft serve, and vegan sides. The classic burger at Pop’s Eat Rite has the grease factor of an Americana fast food fever dream. So much so that it will practically sing “You’re The One That I Want” at you before you eat it. It’s topped with thick-cut sour pickles, caramelized onions, a dash of sweet ketchup, and vegan American cheese that tastes salty and creamy enough for you to question its vegan-ness. Although there is currently no dining available at Pop’s Eat Rite, you can always bring your burgers and vegan cheese fries into Tompkins Square Park a block away. Great vegan burger! We tried the cheese fries and the sauce was literally a watery dip.. so I would skip on that. They have some tables set up outside, or you can take your meal to go and sit in Tompkins Square Park which is right around the corner.

THE POPPA KAHN IS SO FREAKIN GOOD. My boyfriend & I ordered that with The Classic, Cheese fries, donuts, & an oreo shake. Everything was great. I’m not vegan but I do love that the whole menu is. Its also the first shake that i’ve had that didn’t have dairy in it and I wish I could go there every day for one. The coconut lemon was my favorite donut but they were all good. As you can see I was really happy with everything :)

Glad I finally made it to this spot! I'm a huge fan of the mini donuts they make fresh to order😍😋🙌🏾. The flavor pictured is cinnamon sugar. Although I am not a huge fan of fries in general, the soy free cheese fries here are the bomb 💣. The four star is because they only offer impossible burgers right now and I'm NOT a fan of that at all. The staff are friendly and professional too so that made the experience that much better.

Gourmet impossible burgers for a hearty appetite. Delicious! Brought my kids to their soft opening today to sample the different burgers. The special, the cheeseburger, the classic. The toppings are well thought out and work well to create a great impossible burger experience. My one kid gave her double cheese burger “10 out of 10”. My other kid gave his double classic “20 out of 10!” After some initial panic about it being real meat. Lol. This would be a great place to take a meat lover who wants to try plant based. The fries are good too. The staff is welcoming and accommodated our gluten free family member too.

I got their single classic burger with fries and it’s just everything one might expect from a classic burger and fries. The size of the burger isn’t too big so don’t be afraid to get a double if you’re really hungry but they give a generous portion of fries which is always lovely.

The perfect (vegan) burger! I would describe it as elevated fast food if that makes sense - a perfect balance between fast-food and a gourmet burger. I had the Green Burger and the Cup of Kale, but I'm really looking forward to trying their other offerings. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely swing by! Update: Tried the Classic today. You really can't go wrong here. The burgers are simply delicious!

I stumbled upon this gem the other day and have been thinking about their burger ever since. I had The Classic and then ordered another. I’m going back today to try some other menu items and am hopeful the 5-star rating will be upheld. While a slight peanut butter taste to the cheese was odd at first, I am a fan of peanut butter on a standard burger, so it came together nicely once my mind made that connection. I’ve only recently taken to the vegan diet/lifestyle, and while I’m not sure it’s something I will embrace forever, I am definitely incorporating the principles into 95% + of my life and will certainly reduce my negative impact on the environment and animal kingdom by a huge margin, so it’s good to know there are options like these to help keep my mouth happy moving forward. Interesting artwork on the outside, and a cozy “open streets” outdoor atmosphere to enjoy until it gets cold, definitely increase the enjoyment of this quick serve dining experience. Give it a try!
