Google
Fantastic light and airy bagel worthy of ripping and dipping. From the different bagel varieties, the plain is the best first-try but I prefer the poppy over the sesame or the everything. Among those three, the poppy has the texture difference that best fits with the fluffiness of the bagel. I also want to shout out the jalapeno cream cheese. Somehow the cream cheese tasted just like a jalapeno without being spicy. Crazy good. The regular cream cheese is good but the jalapeno cream cheese is a surprise. The aroma of this place is impressive, especially at 7am when the air is fresher. I highly recommend going early if you can just to smell the aroma.

Google
You can smell the bagels from the street. No wait, which is great for a viral shop in NYC. The bagels are hot which is almost the best bit. The scallion schmear wasn't for us, but that's more because it's not something we are used to. The everything bagel was great, poppy seed was nice, but the flakes salt was probably our favourite.

Michela M.

Google
Fresh hot bagels that were extremely flavorful. I wish that there was a counter or a place to enjoy your bagel inside but there isn’t, instead a couple stools and no room to comfortably eat. I awkwardly ate using the stool as my table. It’s 100% a takeaway and enjoy at home type of place.

Google
We were fortunate to have bagels that just came out of the oven! Always a line here. Love the cream cheese offerings. I should say they're the best bagels in town! We definitely enjoyed our breakfast that day...

Google
I finally caved and tried Pop Up Bagels. There's always a bit of a line, but the staff is super friendly so it moves quick. I just walked in and grabbed a dozen instead of pre-ordering... I'm glad I did because the bagels were so fresh and pippin out! And honestly, the hype makes sense. The bagels are really good. The schmears are even better. Only complaint, the everything bagel is a tad bit too salty... Grillo's Pickle Cream Cheese: I was skeptical, but wow. So good. Big fan! Spinach & Artichoke Dip Cream Cheese: Delicious. Solid. Scallion Cream Cheese: Classic! You can't go wrong. Buffalo Butter: Light flavor and texture. It was fine, but meh. It's definitely on the pricier side. A dozen bagels, three schmears and one butter came out to $56. But I'd still recommend it. My only wish is that they wouldn't switch the shmear flavors every week because I already want some repeats.

Google
I’m from Seattle, and this was my very first time trying Popup Bagels in New York—and wow, it completely lived up to the hype! The bagels are absolutely incredible—crispy on the outside, soft and perfectly chewy inside. I tried the plain, salt, sesame, and everything flavors, and honestly, each one was outstanding. The plain had that pure, classic flavor that really lets the texture shine. The salt had just the right punch without being overwhelming. The sesame was fragrant and nutty, and the everything was a flavor bomb with the perfect balance of toppings. On top of the amazing food, the customer service was the best—friendly, welcoming, and fast. The staff really made the experience even more enjoyable. Popup Bagels has officially raised my bagel standards. A must-visit in NYC if you’re looking for the perfect bagel and top-notch service! Thank you 😊

Jaye Aster B.

Google
I think it’s worth the hype. The line wasn’t that bad before 10:30am. The order system is different Han other places because you place your order outside on a bag and then pay/pickup inside. The warm bagels are nice albeit the texture is not the best. One cream cheese container is plenty for 3-4 bagels. There isn’t really much seating or counter space. There is a small sitting/public area across the street but the wind/weather can cool the bagels quickly. I recommend going with 1 or 3 friends.

Aigerim K.

Google
I really enjoy pop-up bagels; they're delicious. However, it gives a vibe that teenagers run this place. At 7.25 they don’t have poppy bagels (wait time 9 minutes). Staff does not explain properly that if you are getting six bagels, you get one spread.

Yelp
Bagel enthusiast and ex NYC resident here to say I had an everything bagel that went straight from the oven into my mouth, and without exaggeration it was the best bagel of my life. An oven-fresh bagel will ruin bagels for the rest of your life. Space is smallish and packed, but at least the latter is what keeps "HOT BAGELS!" rolling out continuously.
google avatar

Bonnie Y.

Yelp
it was as good as everyone says it is... but you can only buy bulk (3 bagels minimum), it's the cause for me not been able to try any other bagel places during my last NY trip.. but no regrets! only 1 tiny table inside the store, so plan a stop nearby to enjoy your treats!

Yelp
TRUFFLE CREAM CHEESE?! Yes please!! I love places with rotating flavors and they almost never disappoint. Their bagels are also worth waiting for them to be made fresh. I was a little confused by how they don't sell sandwiches and you have to essentially buy a pack, but it honestly makes a lot of sense because now I always have extra cream cheese to eat for later. Always a must-have when I visit the city
google avatar

Jessamyn D.

Yelp
Waited around 5 minutes to order and less than 5 minutes to get our bagels and schmears, we shared the scallion cream cheese, truffle cream cheese and maple cinnamon butter. We got salt, sesame and everything bagel. We really enjoyed the scallion cream cheese, one of our favorites!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty solid bagels but the true star are their schmears!! Ditch the boring ole cream cheese-- and opt for a schemer instead! Their spreads are so creative and so delicious. During my visit during the summer, I tried out their extra hot honey peach schmear and hot honey butter. Both really nailed the balance between sweet and spicy- which are flavors I normally wouldn't gravitate towards but I am so glad I did because they were so yummy. I also like how their concept is to eat smaller bagels so you try different bites with their schmears. As someone who is indecisive and likes to try different flavors at a time, I like how they encourage people to try a couple of schmears at a time with their bagels instead of having to commit to a single spread when eating a bagel. A brilliant idea! Sadly, I'll have to deduct one star for the extremely loud music and customer service. It was actually deafeningly loud in this store-- I was right in front of the cashier and we still couldn't hear each other. I also found the staff to be a bit on the rude side. The cashier saw that we JUST came in and didn't yet have a moment to check out the menu when they insisted that we place our order. Luckily the bagels/schmears were good enough to put us back in a good mood, but definitely something to work on or else I'll be more inclined to go to another PopUp Bagel location.

Yelp
I cant stop thinking about the bagel and green onion cream cheese . Please open a store in Virginia! The bagels are perfectly made, chewy warm and delicious!! I've had plenty of green onion cream cheese before but this place is number one on my list. If you are in New York, don't skip this place!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're from California be prepared. Bagels come in a minimum of a three pack with a schmear and any other Schmear's are seven dollars. Also, they don't cut these bagels or toast them for you. They do come out warm and you rip and dip. Apparently that's the way New Yorkers do it. Overall, the bagel itself had a really great chewy texture and I loved the salt flakes on the salt bagel. But we probably just should've split a topping instead of getting an extra one. The scallion one was very yummy and tasted just like green onions.
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I did a quick 36 hour trip to New York from California, and our very first stop after dropping our bags at the hotel was PopUp Bagels. This place is truly worth all the hype. I have never been somewhere so talked about and so deserving of it. These are by far the best bagels I have ever had, and I am so happy a Brentwood location is opening soon. The shmear was superb, and I highly recommend the scallion option, but I am definitely a scallion lover. The setup is unique and strictly to go. They do not assemble your bagel for you, instead everything is given separately so you can build your own lox bagel or simply "rip and dip" as they say. Their lox selection was excellent, and I would absolutely order it again. I would just prefer to take it home to assemble, because doing it in public was not very easy. The quality of all the food and ingredients is truly appreciated, and I cannot wait to become a Brentwood regular.

Yelp
I love PopUp Bagels for their cream cheese. They have a specialty cream cheese and butter that changes every few weeks or so, but always offer a classic plain and scallion cream cheese. This makes it a fun experience that is different on every visit. We ordered the 3 Bagels with 1 Spread for $9. It's fun to mix and match the bagel flavors as I got everything, sesame, and salt. The idea of spreading as much dip as you like is great as someone who loves cream cheese.

Yelp
10/10 PopUp Bagels has the best bagels that I've ever had in my entire life. As someone who doesn't typically like bagels, eating an everything bagel from POpUP was a life-changing experience. The bread is perfectly warm, chewy, and bouncy--and unlike other bagels, it doesn't have that rubbery consistency. You can choose 3 or 5 bagel varieties that include options like poppy seed, sesame, and salt but the everything bagel is the most perfectly seasoned ball of delight and the one that stood out to us the most. We paired it with the spinach and artichoke cream cheese, a thick and luscious whipped spread that left us grinning from ear to ear. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this place enough and my biggest regret is leaving NY without going there one last time. Service was also amazing and the staff threw in an extra bagel when they heard it was our first time trying PopUp.
google avatar

Kameron C.

Yelp
Bagel worthy waiting for!! Even if the line is long, it goes by quick and the bagels are soft and fresh! Only enough room to place your order and take those delish bagels to go. The vibe is fresh and pop like! One note, I got the cinnamon sugar cream cheese but it was rather hard. I suggest sticking with the traditional version which is fresher.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent bagel place. Easy to subway or bus then walk to. There was only one table for seating. Overall the price was ok - nothing amazing. You buy 3 bagels (minimum pack), a cream cheese, and lox (4 oz or 8 oz). Definitely a popular place in the morning. You have to assemble your own bagel... the bagels come out piping hot and you tear/dip it. Bagels became hard after sitting for a little bit. The service was nice. Tried it for the experience but don't think I'd go back (seems like a mainstream thing).
google avatar

Raquel A.

Yelp
One of the best bagels I've had. So warm and toasty, so delicious. Rip and dip style bagel, no sandwiches.
google avatar

Yelp
I had to try popup bagels given all the good things I've heard about it and honestly was slightly disappointed. I thought it was interesting they were out of their scallion cream cheese but they didn't announce it or make it known. I only found out when I got to the front and I also observed that many others after me tried to order scallion cream cheese as well but was told there was none once they got to the front. Given that there's only 3 smear options, plain or scallion or the specialty smear - I wished they announced it earlier rather than having us wait in the long line to find out at the front. The bagels were good but they weren't anything too special. I feel like I've had better bagels elsewhere for cheaper. The bagels here appear smaller than your average bagel elsewhere. I ordered the everything and salt bagels and I found that the everything bagels I got were inconsistent where one was super salty and the other one was fine. Despite this, I did appreciate that the bagels I got were warm. And I do think their rotating specialty smears and butters are quite innovative and fun. The staff were also nice as well and although they ran out of everything bagels at the time, it didn't take them too long to get my order out. There wasn't too much seating inside so it's more of a grab and go spot! Worth trying but not sure I'd come back for the bagels again.

Yelp
I was in the area running errands and I remembered some of my friends mentioning this place and it was a must. Ran in and was quickly taken care of. I got the everything bagel w a small container of the scallion cream cheese. When I tell you this was the best bagel ive had in my life, i am not lying. Super soft, rippable and no cutting needed. The cream cheese was also hands down the best scallion cc ive ever had and Ive had plenty. You guys got a customer for life and Im addicted! Highly recommended and a must when looking for a NY bagel!!
google avatar

Yelp
I would highly recommend this place. We went before 8 on the weekend and there was no line. The scallion cream cheese was amazing. The bagels were crunchy on the outside and so so soft on the inside. Just delicious. The salt bagels were top notch and so was the service. It's a cute tiny place with a very small spot to eat but we grabbed ours to go and enjoyed elsewhere. I will be back!
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
Wow! I understand why this place is very popular. I got the bread fresh out of the oven so it was super soft and warm. It was one of my favorite bagels, especially with the scallion and blueberry spread. There's only one table inside the place, so you'd most likely take the bagels to-go. Service was really quick but still kind!
google avatar

Brianna F.

Yelp
No line before 8am on the weekend. Crusty bagel with a nice and soft inside. Scallion schmear was creamy and easy to spread. Salt bagel was flavorful. Would recommend.
google avatar

KJ S.

Yelp
my favorite bagel place in nyc!!!!! this bagel spot is special because rather than constructing your bagel for you, they have you rip and dip it into your schmear! such fresh bagels with the perfect crisp and softness within. it pairs so well with their schmears that have the perfect flavor and texture. 10/10
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
Glad there's a new PopUp Bagels location in midtown east. The base selection is 3 bagels plus a spread for $12, which is a decent price. The bagels are a little on the salty side, and the spread flavors are pretty good. Bagels are really fresh, doughy inside and crispy outside. Service is quick and the interior space is small so better to pick up to go.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Pop Up Bagels forever now. Finally got a chance to try! I picked up some bagels for client meeting. They only come in sizes or packs of 3. I got: - 6 pack of everything - 3 pack plain - 3 pack poppy - 3 pack sesame - 2 butter - 2 plain cream cheese - 1 scallion cream cheese Everything was a hit and everyone loved it!
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
I was recommended this on my trip to NYC. Visited on a Thursday morning around 9 a.m. A few employees working. The set up at this location is mostly for take out. There is only one barrel high top and two bar height stools. A few people in placing orders but not busy. Overall it was fun and a tasty breakfast. I don't love that you have to buy a minimum of 3 bagels and there are only a few bagel flavors. I'm guessing their model is 100% set up for efficiency - and something corporate offices would love as a staff breakfast option. One bagel recipe which toppings are added on e.g. poppy seed, salt. Then they place whole uncut bagels in a bag with a tub of cream cheese. Little to no effort in terms of preparing a traditionally toasted bagel and schmear. The bagels themselves were divine! They did come warmed up. We had salt and an everything. Cream cheese was normal, nothing out of this world. They have rotating seasonal cream cheese...but who wants cream cheese that takes like pickles? Was I glad to try it out? Yes, I enjoyed my breakfast very much. Although, if you're in NYC, I wouldn't say this is a must stop when there are so many bagel places that do the same thing, but with more customizable options.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Very solid bagels, but I think I am more impressed with the variety of spreads than I am with the bagels themselves. Don't love that you have to buy a minimum of 3 since it can be an awkward number depending on how many people you want to go with. The bagels are on the smaller side, but pretty fluffy. Love the consistency of the cream cheese, and the flavors are super fun! Definitely worth trying, especially if there is a cream cheese flavor that catches your eye, but probably wouldn't be my go-to bagel spot.
google avatar

Corianne M.

Yelp
I love popup bagels! Definitely recommend if you want to try the "rip n dip" style. This location is "slower" than the other locations. The line goes really quick and is only a short walk from Central Park!
google avatar

Sabrina Y.

Yelp
Brand new location of PopUp in Midtown East - super excited I can get my bagel fix during the workweek now. It's a bigger space than the Soho location, and the staff is friendly as always! Definitely will be a regular here
google avatar

Mariel M.

Yelp
My first taste of a NY bagel did not disappoint at all. With bagels and CC being my go to choice for bagels, Pop up was at the top of my list of bagels to try on my new york trip. We ended up going with a salt, plain and sesame bagel with the scallion cream cheese. The workers were so welcoming, and with it raining outside, they made sure to package up our bagels extra to protect them from the rain. The bagels were perfectly warmed, and ripping and dipping was a concept I never knew I needed. The scallion cream cheese paired well with all the bagels, but my favorite was definitely the salt bagel. I wish there was more seating/standing areas, but otherwise I would come here everyday if I could!!
google avatar

Laya M.

Yelp
Really great bagels with interesting cream cheese flavors. Tried the new cannoli cream cheese and the scallion one. So good and fresh! I wish they had more bagel flavors though
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
I tried PopUp Bagels since it was close to where I was staying. It's pricy at $13 for 3 bagels and one shmear, but the bagels are also small. I got the everything bagel, and some parts were saltier than other parts. Maybe their other bagels and schmears are better, but this experience was underwhelming.
google avatar

Shiny C.

Yelp
AMAZING. I wasn't expecting to be blown away as much as I was coming here, since I don't eat bagels often and didn't think I knew enough to be able to tell what was good. But let me tell you... the bagels here are phenomenal. They're so soft and pillowy inside and instead of the classic bagel sandwich that many places in New York offer, they sell combos of bagels and schmears that you can dip the bagels in. I got the sesame bagel with a salted butter schmear and it was delicious. I wish there was a location closer to where I live!
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this visit was really disappointing for me. I arrived only about an hour after they opened and were surprised to find that there were only two bagel options left, which felt unacceptable so early in the day. On top of that, the only spread available was plain cream cheese, leaving no variety at all. For a bagel shop, selection and availability are a big part of the experience, and this place really missed the mark. I was excited to try it, but left feeling let down.
google avatar

L W.

Yelp
I love bagels and I especially love to eat bagels when I'm NYC. PopUp bagels did not disappoint. The bagels had a delicious chew and flavor. The size is small but delicious. And I loved dipping these bagels in the schmear. We also bought a package of lox to put into our bagel. It's a shame they don't put the lox into the bagel for us but it didn't lessen our enjoyment. This is a must try and a definite must repeat.
google avatar

Rochelle N.

Yelp
Fine bagels. Great cream cheese flavors. I came to try the French Toast schmear but also the salt bagels. The french toast schmear was delicious and I loved the chunks of cereal in it. The salt and sesame bagels were good but they're really best fresh. As soon as we finished the first bagel, the next was going hard. Since there isn't much seating at this location, would recommend just going to a park or bench nearby and eating. Service was super quick though since they just hand you the items as soon as you pay. Would come back depending on the cream cheese flavors of the week!
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I ordered the 3-pack of bagels that comes with 1 schmear ($13.00). I came on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to try the vodka sauce schmear (weekly special), but they ran out of that so I tried the scallion schmear instead. For bagels, I chose one everything bagel, one poppy bagel, and one sesame bagel. The poppy bagel was my favorite (especially w/ the scallion schmear), with the everything bagel a close second (it was a bit salty), followed by the sesame bagel. I usually like sesame bagels, but this one didn't stand out to me as much as the other two flavors. The bagels were thick and came hot and fresh, so they were delicious and definitely enjoyable with the schmear. Make sure to eat it before it gets cold! Keep in mind there's not a lot of seating at this location (there's only one table & two chairs), so most people take their order to-go due to the limited seating.
google avatar

Diana K.

Yelp
Crunchy on the outside - check Soft and dense on the inside - check Perfectly chewy - check Hits all the components of a perfect NYC bagel. I always eat a plain bagel with nothing on it to know its true intentions. Executed to the 10s.
google avatar

Diana P.

Yelp
Bagels are amazing! Got mine nice and fresh out the oven. It's 3 bagels and your choice of cream cheese or butter for $9. I went on an off day so no long lines. I got the everything and salt bagel The tub of butter/cream cheese is a bit Much for the 3 bagels so you'll definitely have left overs. I'll be back!
google avatar

Lori Z.

Yelp
We visited this shop after a long day of sight seeing. We visit the city maybe every year or so, and I have my favorite bagel places, but I'd seen this online and figured it would make a good stop. We were not disappointed. The service was extremely friendly and the bagels came out still hot. I don't know how they manage to keep a supply of hot bagels throughout the day, but apparently it's possible. The downside of it is that there is a limited menu. It's really just a few flavors, and we tried a sesame, everything, and a plain. The bagels are smaller than a standard NYC bagel, which is fine for me. We got the seasonal elote shmear. I was skeptical of the flavor, but it was really delicious. We ate the remaining bagels in the hotel room the next morning, toasted and with cream cheese. They help up well, with a crispy outside and chewy center. Nice treat. Recommend trying them out.
google avatar

Bradley L.

Yelp
As a tourist, I had heard great things about these bagels but I was always suspicious if it could live up to the hype. I think Pop Up bagels delivers. We tried 3 bagels. Everything, salt, and poppy. They were so fluffy on the inside yet so fresh and crispy on the outside. I loved the salt bagel the best. We paired our bagels with chimchurri butter spread and it was such a delicious combination. There is seating at this location but it's extremely limited. Prepare to take your order to go
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
I get it that they are trying to make a different style of bagel, a tear away bagel. Their sesame bagel has so many on it at first glance I thought I was in Montreal and about to bite into a Fairmont bagel. Unfortunately I was wrong. There's no crisp there is no Crunch. There's no hard exterior. This bagel was meant to be torn and dipped into your smear cream cheese. It's overpriced and if you're looking for a New York City bagel experience this place ain't for you. If you're looking for an odd shaped loaf of bread that you can rip and dip in a spread feel free to go there.
google avatar

Sir Thomas ..

Yelp
It wasn't so bad that you have to order 3x at a time, it's that you get a tub of cream cheese. Gonna go on a limb and say that I suspect many, like I, had to chuck most of the schmear in the bin 'cause there's no fridge option and there's only so long it'll keep in your bag. Bagels were yummy, doughier than my preferred Montreal bagel, but tasty nonetheless. They felt a touch undercooked tho. If you're not pressed for time, there's room a a few ppl to enjoy a warm fresh bagel in the friendly shop... let yourself be tempted by the cute merch. Not famous, but known.
google avatar

Jacob M.

Yelp
Bagels amazing! Lots of spread! Probably shard if you get the three pack! Super quick! A cute little spot!

Ella T.

Yelp
My friends and I call this the "warm bread experience" and it never fails to disappoint. The scallion cream cheese is a must!
google avatar

Divya M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best bagels I've ever had! The texture is perfect crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside and you can tell they're baked fresh with so much care. Every bite tastes like New York done right.
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
Pop Up Bagels delivers exactly what you want in a great bagel--fresh, warm, and full of that just-out-of-the-oven chew. The scallion cream cheese smear is a standout: creamy and perfectly seasoned. Simple, satisfying, and seriously crave-worthy. A strong addition to the NYC bagel scene.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Ok, the good first: the bagels were fresh, hot and really delicious. I got the everything with plain cream cheese. The bad: min order of 3 bagels. They only have 5 flavors of bagel options, all savory or plain. They also have limited cream cheese options and one is a butter, and another is a sweet cannoli. I noticed the lady in front of me was as confused abt the place as I was. She just wanted a bagel with cream cheese but was told it was min 3 and they don't put cream cheese on it for you. She left frustrated without ordering.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
My Daughter picked up a dozen bagels with scallion cream cheese and ramp butter to rip and dip. Despite a train ride bagels were warm and delicious. My first foray into Pop Up bagels and I am a fan. Can't wait for the ramp cream cheese to come out. The bagels are smaller but so damn good. Loved this place!
google avatar

Keely B.

Yelp
Warning! Don't eat their everything in your hotel room. Unless, you want seeds everywhere. These bagels are divine, both light and airy and chewy. We ordered ours without the cream cheese so we could meter out the ideal amount. This was nice since sometimes there is just too much cream cheese at NY bagel shops. I want another one before I leave.
google avatar

Abigail D.

Yelp
Bagels are definitely worth the online hype. Only downside is you need to order in packs of three, so go with a group and be ready to share. The bagels are best when served fresh and eaten within the first 10 minutes I ordered the poppyseed with scallion cream cheese; excited to go back and try some of the sweeter options.
google avatar

Katelin G.

Yelp
As great as the rest. Popup is a gem always hot fresh and fun. Happy these are showing up all over.
