A Polarizing Rip-and-Dip Bagel Shop Is Expanding All Around Boston | Eater Boston
"Three months after its Boston debut in the Seaport, the controversial rip-and-dip bagel purveyor that has amassed a cult following in NYC is adding two more locations around the city. One store is going into Assembly Row, the shiny Somerville shopping district; the other is going smack in the middle of Harvard Square, at 1430 Massachusetts Avenue, down the block from fellow NYC import Joe’s Pizza. Both shops are aiming to open later this year, according to a rep for the developments." - Erika Adams
Very good bagels: soft on the inside with crispy exterior. The cream cheese choices at the time were odd and admittedly unappealing (pink peppercorn and tiramisu) but I know they rotate. There’s some outdoor seating so we got our pack of 3 and sat and ate outside.

Bagels were great! This is a bagel shop, not a sandwich shop. Bagels come in bundles of 3, 6, 12, and a smear of you choice. We got the pepper smear, really good! We took it home and assembled a bagel ourselves.

Great bagels with a delicious scallion schmear! The atmosphere is lively with vibrant music, and the staff is super friendly. We enjoyed every bit of it!

Bagels were toasted, very chewy but not too hard, I liked it’s crispy outside! I’ll recommend the everything flavor.
Visited at around 10 on the weekend, there wasn’t a long line, only took 5-10 mins to get the bagels!

Pre-ordered a box and all the spreads for a brunch and the welcoming & friendly staff had everything ready to go at pick-up time. The bagels were still warm and everybody raved about them!

An unconventional bagel which was more close to sourdough breads as it lacks traditional bagel chewiness. Scallion schmear had creamy texture with amazing flavor. It is a fun bagel experience but not the best in Boston nor in New England. It is also quite overpriced for a bagel and cream cheese.
If you are a true conventional bagel (New York style) fan, you wouldn’t appreciate that much in this place. If you like hyped, fun, New York like experience, you would enjoy more on Pop Up Bagel.
