Poquitos Review - Capitol Hill - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Poquitos is not a great Mexican restaurant—the food is just fine here. But it is a solid partytime spot to start a night out on Capitol Hill, thanks to lots of bar top tables, loud music, and patio fire pits. A tamarind margarita with some queso, refried beans, and salsa alongside a huge bowl of chips is the best move here, and if you need something more substantial, head around the block for a burrito at Rancho Bravo. photo credit: Poquitos" - Kayla Sager-Riley

Solid place for tasty tacos. Not a fancy place and yet that brings its own charm to it. Sit outside if possible! I ordered the vegetarian options, both the soy pastor and the jackfruit tinga, and honestly? The jackfruit tinga set a new standard for what you can do with jackfruit! That good. The guac was a little watery, but the flavor was good.

This place was referred to us by my son's girlfriend, she hit it right on the head! Very laid back, good food (limited menu) and Great outdoor space! Order at the counter and then be served. (That was a little disheveled) but, overall, good experience. If I have anything they should improve, it would be the ordering process, and the food service. We were all served at different times, so some of us were done eating and others were just starting. Thankfully, their outdoor seating area provided relaxation and a good social area where you just could sit and talk.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Athens! I get their Al Pastor tacos and i am always STUFFED after. The food is super affordable and comes out super quick even when I go with a huge group (sometimes 10+ people). They even have a discount on their tacos on Tuesday and happy hour almost everyday! Definitely worth a visit and I will absolutely be back.

We got al pastor tacos and it’s sweet with pineapple chunks and we liked it!

A welcome addition to the Mexican scene in Athens. Feels more upscale as compared to the other authentic places (which are typically food trucks/stands or inside grocery stores) and more authentic compared to the proper restaurants. Has a few items that are traditional Mexican food but not usually found at the standard Tex-mex type place. Tastes quite good. Among the tacos, I liked the tingas (chicken and jackfruit). The corn tortillas used for (all) the tacos tacos tasted nice. 4.25 stars rounded up to 5

Stopped by for a drink after seeing their menu, I’ve never had micheladas / cervezas preparadas made like this in the US, only in Mexico. Super good and refreshing. Tried a birria taco which was great but lacked salt. The corn / esquite didn’t have any flavor. Lots of like and salt did the trick. I’d be back to try other things and more miches if I’m ever in Athens again.

Highly Recommend! Cozy, cute & laid back authentic Mexican eatery with non complicated menu that lists general traditional Mexican food items. Traditional Michelada and Sangria alcoholic beverages are made to perfection. Plenty of parking nearby. Friendly staff!

I regularly visit this place for their $2 taco tuesday. The best deal for the best tacos you can get in Athens. It is so worth it, you have to try this place! The chicken rings taco is my favorite!

Yelp
Home to the best margarita I've ever had! Whatever they put in the rim, is a perfect mix of sweet and sour. The food is always great, and the patio is cozy all year round!

Yelp
We went for dinner with family and were blown away with how good this place is. Fast service, extremely good food, nice drink selection, and plenty of seating. We can't wait to go when the weather is nice and enjoy the outdoor patio area as well. Great food selection for anyone including vegan, vegetarian, and normal meat eating diets. Definitely one of our new go to spots in Athens! Plenty of parking in the area and easy to access.
