"While some Portlanders might roll their eyes at the often-lengthy wait times at Por Que No’s two locations, it’s also worth noting that the shops’ menu includes two tasty fish tacos for different moods. Both tacos, the pescado and the fish #2, feature fried Newman’s line-caught Alaskan cod in a crispy cornmeal crust. The fish #2 comes with some simple, agreeable fixings, namely tangy escabeche crema and serrano-cabbage slaw; the Pescado is smothered in a heavy pile of pineapple and salsa verde — just one can fill you up. If cod doesn’t appeal, the restaurants’ shrimp tacos are also lovely, with serrano salsa, pineapple, and plenty of cabbage." - Jenni Moore

Wow, these are the best homemade tortilla chips I've ever had! I'm addicted and will be back. The tacos were great too. The salsa, guacamole, all of it. Like so good! I live over an hour away and would drive out here to eat again and again. Atmosphere was great. Employees are friendly. They have some outside seating too. Parking was kind of a pain, but well worth it.

Walking in, the place was humming with conversation. Places to sit everywhere, although from outside, it looked small. All the eatery spots in the area, and we are so glad we picked here! Customer service was on point. An array of different individuals with smiles ready to help you choose from a great and cost effective menu. We had the carne asada tacos and chicken tacos and kids mixed rice and bean bowl. Everything was awesome and I would highly recommend stopping in!

During a recent drive into Portland, we stopped here on a Sunday about 1pm. There was a short line out the door but it took less than 10 minutes to get up to the front to place our order. The staff was really helpful and answered questions patiently, although they were busy. We ate outside. Very good food and homemade corn tortillas were delicious. It was a perfect size, we were not looking for huge portions. Everything was very fresh tasting and not overly salty. I look forward to our next meal there.

The food is good, but the portions have shrank by a lot. Most of the food in the picture is dip and beans, the Barbacoa is the small amount on the bottom right. Very underwhelming. For the money, not a good choice. I got take out tonight, but the restaurant is a buss your own table kind of place, so not as clean as it could be. And there is a kind of a feral vibe to it. Once you get your food there, you are pretty much on your own. Keep that in mind if you go, because you tip at the register when you order.

Sat in the 'new' room at the side of the restaurant. Picnic tables with lots of room to stretch out. Bright floral vinyl table cloths. Alanis Morrisette soundtrack at good volume. Good acoustics out here—low chatter. My go-to: Tamale plate with one veggie tamale plus a Migration IPA. Excellent service. Lovely, as usual, especially on this rainy Portland day.

Love this place, definitely going to become a regular staple. I got the Pollo Asado, Al Pastor, and Camarónes All of it was SO good, I grew up in SoCal so finding legit street tacos with amazing salsa is such a win, for me. The tortillas are not *my* personal favorite, but they hold up well and get the tasty fillings directly into my mouth so they do their job. Everyone here is really nice, VERY queer friendly. Variety of seating, including an enclosed, heated patio. You order first and then sit, the line to order can be long so keep that in mind!
