I don’t usually write reviews, but I had such a disappointing experience here on my 21st birthday that I feel like management needs to hear this directly. A little background: this was actually my second time visiting The Porch. The first time, Adrian was my server, and he was amazing. He made me feel comfortable, welcomed, and treated me like any other guest — professional, kind, and very attentive. We need to get him back on the floor! That first experience was perfect, which is why I decided to come back for my birthday.
When I came in this time, I was genuinely happy and excited. I had one small canned margarita before I arrived — just to start my night. I wasn’t drunk, I wasn’t acting out, and I wasn’t causing any scene. I’m just naturally bubbly, extra, and full of personality — I have a naturally louder voice and I’m very goofy and free-spirited. That’s simply who I am, with or without alcohol. I was a little tipsy but nowhere near “drunk” or disruptive. I was with my girlfriend, my sister, and two cousins, a very chill group just out to eat. I was the ONLY bubbly extra excited (DRINKING) party.
So when I got there, I told my server I was excited to celebrate my 21st and mentioned I might have to grab my ID from my car. I stepped out for a few minutes to get it, and when I came back, I was told we had a different server…
The second server barely acknowledged our table. She walked past several times without checking on us, and ( The truffle spaghetti )came out lukewarm and bland…
!!!!NOT THE WORST PART!!!!
Thankfully, the manager was amazing — he was polite, attentive, and immediately offered to fix the issue and get me something else. I truly appreciated him, because without his professionalism, the phenomenal menu, I probably would have left.
But the rest of the night went downhill again. When I tried to order a drink, the server made me feel embarrassed and judged for even asking. She told me “i couldn’t be doing too much” or
“getting too loud” that I was “already pinned.” I still don’t even know what that means!!! I responded “yea I won’t be too loud or anything I know it’s a little fancy in here” *confused laugh* 🤨 it made me feel like I was being watched… or treated as a problem….
That comment was uncalled for, disrespectful, and embarrassing. I wasn’t being loud or disruptive — I was simply happy and celebrating my birthday. Instead of making me feel special or welcomed on a big milestone night, she made me feel like I was a problem or being watched. It completely ruined what should’ve been my first fun, memorable drink experience as a 21-year-old. Throughout the rest of the meal, she barely interacted with us, didn’t check on the table regularly, My new burger took forever to come out, and when it finally did, I was just over the whole experience. Between the expensive food, paid parking, and poor service, this night was not worth what I spent. I left upset and disappointed on what should’ve been a special night.
I really hope management sees this and reaches out, because this night should have been memorable for good reasons, not bad ones. I would appreciate some kind of reimbursement or gesture of goodwill to make this right, because this was not the kind of experience anyone should have here — especially not on a 21st birthday.
