We really enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere was great. The wait time wasn’t bad to order. The food came out quickly. Everything was good. The food was seasoned very well and you got nice portion sizes. This place was definitely a vibe! So glad we dined here.

We were in the area and had to stop because we love DDD and found out Guy stopped here. We had the chicken tenders and fried shrimp. Also had fries, tots, Mac N Cheese and brussell sprouts. Everything was fantastic, best thing to me was the fried shrimp with tasted fresh and had great flavor. Only downside was the Mac was not very hot and flavor was lacking. Staff is super nice. Tons of seating. Prices are fair. Atmosphere is great. I want to come back again and try more things.

So, Porch was wonderful. Pictured is the little dark plate, tots topped with pimento cheese, and coleslaw. The fried chicken was really good. Nice crisp skin and juicy meat inside. Tots are taken up a notch with the pimento cheese, and the coleslaw was spot on. All in all, if you're around St Simon Island you'll want to stop in.

Not just another chicken joint. Great flavor without setting you on fire. One of the best chicken sandwiches with the pimento cheese! Don’t pass up on the grits of Brussels sprouts.

If I could give it six stars I would. We take a yearly beach trip to St. Simon’s and when I say I look forward to eating Porch, that is an understatement!! It is the best hot chicken (heck even fried chicken) I’ve ever had. The service is amazing and the people working here are so awesome! I love getting to play the games on the lawn as well. If I lived here, they would definitely make me broke! 🤪

So this is a happening place. Try to go at an odd time so it’s not too busy. Staff taking orders were very friendly and answered questions without acting like you were bothering them. Food was delivered quickly (despite how busy they were). Food was awesome! I recommend the mothercluclker (love pimento cheese)! My husband had Nashville hot fried chicken. Good place to eat! Needs more indoor seating.

Stopped by for lunch on my husbands birthday. Host noticed it was his birthday when checking his ID for the beer. Gave him a beer on the house for his birthday! Service and food is always excellent, which makes the atmosphere amazing. I noticed they also have gluten free options. Love this place!

The servers were super friendly and helpful. Excellent: hot chicken dark meat, fried shrimp, Brussels sprouts. Pretty good: grits, fries, Cole slaw. Indoor seating is limited.

We went on Memorial Day weekend, and the ONLY down side was that they only had one server bringing out food and bussing tables. And if y'all see this and know who it is, that girl needs a bonus or raise. She brought us a whole extra plate because she mayyyy have gotten us the wrong heat level on the chicken we ordered. But she was racing around getting everyone everything incredibly efficiently with seemingly no break. Our food was also delicious and perfectly cooked, just the right amount of heat. The grits especially, dang. Also love the outdoor area with giant connect four and other things for kids to do. We will definitely be back.

Y'all. It's good to come home. I've not been on this island since 2017 and this place was new to me. Hopping at 7p on a Sunday, but still we found a picnic table to eat at with the fam after ordering our food. Our kids each got waffles (with syrup!) and fries (the chicken is batter fried and wasn't my 6yo's fave but was excellent for us grownups). The adults split a grilled shrimp platter and Caesar salad (and each had Amber Abita beers--there were 6 drafts on tap) with pimento cheesy grits (omg) and flash Brussel sprouts (dear goodness). So excellent and I'll make sure to return next time I'm on the island.

This place is like a big family party! Porch deserves 4 stars right there! Porch's deal is its great fried chicken. I decided to get the Mother Klucker fried chiken sandwich- passed on the Nashville Hot- with pinento grits. My date chose the chicken tacos on special. Both dishes were freat as advertized! The staff here were great and friendly as hell. It was a great lunch!

Food was really good but the menu is pretty limited. If you love chicken this is the place for you! Great place to take tired kids as it has an outside area and is very casual.

Friendly atmosphere, the food was luke warm, the sides could use a little work. But overall it was good

Monday lunch with the gang. Busy little place. Here is what we liked: * Service was super friendly * chicken tenders good size * cheesy grits were good * greens were good What could of been better: * tenders were good but nothing special. * coleslaw just needed something. * fries just weren't good- limp fries

We visited while traveling to SSI and we were so impressed! We loved everything about this gem! Customer service: the hostess was very friendly when we walked in and helped us out immediately with how to order and where to go. The cashier was very helpful and patient as it was our first time in and the crowd was huge! The girl who brought us our food was so quick to delivering it to us, and do so with a smile and thanked us for stopping in! We stayed until it was about to close and the kids helped clean up the play area and the sweet hostess gave them free ice cream for it! They are top notch here! Food: we had two Catfish plates; one with Mac and cheese and grits, the other with Mac and cheese and tots. The Catfish was fried really well and served hot and crispy!! We ordered chicken finger baskets with fries and Mac and cheese and the kids loved it. They ate it all. We also ordered a basket of the smothered queso tots and they were SO GOOD!! For dessert we got both the pudding and the ice cream cookie sammiches! Both were delicious but the sammich was [chef's kiss]. The cookie was soft and buttery and just complemented the ice cream so amazingly! Don't skip on them, they're to die for!! Scene/vibe: okay we love any dining place that feels like a community! We literally talked with so many locals and played with their kids! You can tell they all love their island and community! We also LOVE when a restaurant thinks of all the details, and includes things for kids! Out in the green they had Jenga, Connect Four, and corn hole! Listen, we will always find a place with cornhole LOL! The kids got to stretch out and run a bit and play and it made dining so much more pleasant. It's the little things like this that will always have is returning. We didn't have any trouble with parking, but it does fill up quick at the actual restaurant. You may need to walk just a block up after parking on the street but it's a beach/pier area and everyone is walking and sightseeing or going to the shops so very standard! There are four ways to enjoy this food- takeout, inside seating, porch seating, and outside seating! Overall 10/10 experience and we will DEFINITELY be back on our next visit! We have fallen in love with the area and the people and we couldn't have picked a better restaurant to stop in on our first visit to St Simon.

Finally got around to trying this Nashville Hot Chicken restaurant on St. Simons Island while home for the weekend. There is outdoor seating with a great area for kids to run and play, as well as outdoor/screened in seating & indoor seating. There is limited seating for large groups, but you can always pull up chairs to tables. You order at the register and they bring it to your table, and the service was fairly quick. It was a friendly environment with good food that I would go back to. Hot Chicken Caesar Wrap w/ side of Mac & Fries ($15): 7.5/10 I enjoyed this wrap. It was a good portion and I did not feel like the chicken was lacking. I ordered the flavor novice, and it had a good flavor. I think the wrap could have had a little more caesar dressing. I was not a fan of the Mac. It was bland & underwhelming. The fries were crispy and good!

Visiting the island and tried a casual dinner at Porch. If you're much of a fried chicken eater, there's not that many options here so I opted to try their wrap and I'm really glad I did actually! Got it in the novice flavor which definitely had a little kick to it but it wasn't that bad honestly. I saw some reviews saying the wrap was dry but I didn't have that problem at all. It was actually very well seasoned and I opted to get a side of ranch which added a nice touch to it. I ordered the side of mac and cheese and that was the only thing that I said was subpar. Not my favorite but it wasn't too bad. Wish it was a bit cheesier. I also ordered there $5 frose and for the size and strength of it, I think it was a great deal. Oh parking was a bit of an issue if you're not familiar with the area. There's a small lot attached but it seems to get rather full quickly. We opted to park at one of the local businesses near by but be sure to read signs to ensure it's not private parking. There's a lot of businesses to choose from so I'm sure you'd fine something. Overall, pretty decent causal dining. I think when I come back I'd try the tacos cause they looked really good! Check out my ig @helenaonyelp!

I'm not sure if this place is new, or we've just missed it before? But glad we stumbled upon it this trip! This is a "order at the counter, we'll bring your food out" restaurant. Self serve sodas, they do serve alcohol and a good sized menu. We tried the fried shrimp, pimento grits, Mac and cheese and catfish tacos! You can get heat added to any meat. I reaaaaaallly enjoyed my sides. Shrimp was good, but nothing special. My husband enjoyed his tacos! He added some remoulade. Though I don't think it is every night, there was live music when we went! Picnic tables outside as well as porch and inside seating. Overall we had a fun time and will be back!

I love the outdoor atmosphere at Porch! Sitting on the screened in porch feels like you're at a firmed or families house for a meal. You order from the counter then wait for your food to be delivered which was very fast. Thursday's beer is only $4 and they have specials every day of the week. I loved my catfish basket and my husband loved his hot chicken tenders. Our sides were mediocre (tots, slaw and greens). Overall fun spot with good food!

Atmosphere was laid back and calming. We loved sitting on the porch. Food was good (mostly chicken) with a good variety of sauces. I have the grilled shrimp. Yummy!!

Beautiful spot in St. Simons! Friday is Froze Friday. I wasn't super hungry so I just got a salad. Portion is quite large for an $8 salad! My family loved their food too.

We stopped by this cool little house converted into a restaurant. Beautiful setting under the trees. We sat outside on the porch. The staff was very friendly. You order inside and they bring it out. We had the fried chicken . You can choose your hotness. We had the pimento cheese grits and pimento cheese on our tots. The chicken was crispy and juicy inside. The pimento was delicious and plenty of it. Very good food and the price was cheap. Definitely stop by for lunch or dinner.

Yum! What a great place to get lunch before or after the beach. It is dog friendly, but only on the outside (you might have to wait for a seat. We sat outside and the waitress bright a bowl of water for the pup, super sweet! They also forgot to give us Mac and cheese (we got double cole slaw) but they quickly rectified the error and we got the keep the extra Cole slaw. *score* Don't be fooled! We were SO FULL off of our food options. The Nashville hot was perfectly battered and fried - pretty spicy, so beware! And the fried catfish was boneless- thank goodness :) The Mac n cheese (not pictured) was so creamy! And baked beans were sweet and well cooked. I'd love if they had a hot honey sauce for the chicken- but either way the food is good! It does seem to get packed, and the parking lot is a very tight fit. Be mindful about that when driving to.

Super quick service and pet friendly outdoor patio . Ordered mild spicy catfish sandwich . Perfect spicy ness. But nothing out of Ordinary. There's also a corn hole set up to play Bring you own water bottle though Too bad they still use styrofoam cups . It's 2024 .this has to stop

Delicious! We had to travel off Jekyll Island where we were staying to find a delicious meal and it was at Porch! I had the spinach salad w/ grilled chicken and my man had the Nashville hot chicken. We loved both dishes!

Awesome spot for a family with kids with a grassy fenced outdoor eating area with lawn games and space for the kiddos to play. They have grilled or fried chicken, catfish, shrimp, and salads or sandos or plates with the sides of your choosing.

Fresh and delicious food, sweet southern service, in a laid back and relaxed environment. Porch is a must visit on your visit to St. Simons. Parking may be tricky as the lot is small, but with the quick service, a spot is bound to free up fast. Stepped inside and placed our order at the counter, where a presumed local or frequent customer advised everything on the menu is delicious. The young lady behind the counter recommended the fried chicken and explained the sauce options; naked, novice, Nashville, and napalm. Opted for the novice which had a nice bearable kick to it. The napalm was explained to be similar to the "one chip challenge"; extremely spicy. The spinach salad was fresh, filling, and the perfect combination of spicy fried chicken with your serving of greens. The frose was stronger than expected, but unfortunately quickly melted in the outdoor Georgia heat. The outdoor seating, not under the porch provides picnic style tables with access to large lawn games of Jenga and connect four. Pups are allowed, so feel free to bring your four legged family members to enjoy this lovely spot. Will without a doubt come back to try other items on the menu.

Had the fried chicken with novice heat. Very good. Brussels sprouts and grilled corn on the cob was pretty good as well. We really liked that they had some things for kids to play with outside like cornhole and giant jenga blocks

Fast food. Fried Food. Overhyped. Nashville Hot Chicken place that has no idea what that means. As any SSI location, it's small, and often gets crowded. It's self-seat, and you have to queue up to place an order. There is not such thing as table service, and that's normal for this type of restaurant. Main issue: As someone who has lived in Nashville and has ate hot chicken their whole life, this place has no soul. Orders are being pushed in less than 3 mins, and their "Nashville" level of heat is inedible. There's no love in the food, and Nashville is not meant to be a level of heat that makes an entire party complain. I'm sure the non-spicy stuff is ok, but you can get the entire menu at KFC at that point. I left my plate, and all my friend said the novice was garbage.

Best fried chicken on SSI. Excellent service and environment. Relaxing and not as hectic as most other restaurants. Great menu !

The Nashville chicken Caesar wrap is so so good here. Nice fun spot and the Froze is good too. Mac and cheese is good not great.

Very cool atmosphere with a huge porch area and front yard with picnic tables. The chicken was good for a hot chicken place. Nashville seasoning was not near as hot as they make it seem definitely think Napalm is a medium Buffalo equivalent. Food came out quick and it's $4 draft beer special on Thursdays.

Very much enjoyed my novice Jumbo chicken tender plate with Brussels and totes! To start, the Jumbo chicken tender plate is jumbo so you will not go home hungry, and the novice spice was very comfort for someone who doesn't do much spicy food anymore. I tried my partners Nashville spice which was still not too spicy but I would have not been able to eat a whole meal that was Nashville spice level. Now on to the sides, the Brussels sprouts were flash fried and drizzled with honey which really added extra flavor to the dish and the tots were the perfect amount of fried without being too soft or crunchy. Would eat here again and recommend! *If you have a large vehicle, truck or large SUV, I do not recommend parking behind the restaurant due to the tight space and weird angles to get in/out of parking spaces. We did it in our truck and had other large SUVs near us but had fun having to adjust a couple of times/do multiple part turns. There is parking

Just stopped by the Porch to have dinner, and the food was delicious. The service was fast after you ordered and paid for the food. We got the Brussel sprouts, the collared greens, and grits for our sides. It was so tasty with a little kick. The main dishes, fried chicken, and street tacos were worth the visit.

4 stars for a quick bite to eat before hitting sunset on the beach! It's counter service, so you order and they bring it out when it's ready. The screened in patio isn't pup friend but there's a few longer tables in the front that are. We order the Big Dark, $13. Enough to split, it came with two thighs and legs, on top of bread with two pickles. It also comes with two sides. I was going to get the Mac and cheese but was persuaded to get the grits since it's one of their signatures. We opted for fries as our second choice. You can order your chicken grilled or fried and any spice you'd like. We got the Nashville style, it definitely had a kick and was crunchy. Our food came out really fast and it was nice that it's dog friendly on the front patio.

Best fried food on SSI. Relatively quick and convenient (depending on particular day and time). Don't go here for anything healthy...

Heather and the team at The Porch hosted a wonderful Birthday Celebration for my wife. The food was great, the "back porch" was the perfect venue. We love this place! It is part of the SSi

The shrimp and fried chicken were excellent, but the person working the counter talked me into "novice" for the heat level on my Little Dark plate of fried chicken. There was no heat at all, maybe a bit of what I'd call spicy. Reading other reviews, it seems like the heat is either inconsistent, or people don't have much experience with heat. I've been to Nashville and had Prince's 2X Hot, so I should have trusted my own gut and at least went Nashville hot here. The chicken was well fried otherwise, and had a nice crunch. For my side, I tried the tots with pimento cheese on top. Very good. My dining companion got the grilled shrimp (also novice), and the one I had was nicely grilled. She had the Brussels sprouts, which were super tasty. The service was fast and friendly, but it was pretty warm inside the restaurant. We ate on the porch, because outside was full. It would have helped if the fans were on, but they were off the afternoon we went.

I've been going to Porch for several years and it's always been excellent. I don't think I've ever been disappointed after eating here. Porch staff are always polite and friendly, and the food usually comes out quickly and as ordered. The Nashville hot seasoning is spicy, but not too spicy. You get a great portion size for the price too! The spinach salad is good but the portion size seems to have dropped since I last went. The ambiance is that of southern living and relaxation, which is nice. I'd recommend Porch to anyone.

Went with a group of 6 after the chili cook off. Warm welcome as soon as we walked in. Cheyenne & the other lady were super nice and accommodating. Food was delicious. Get the Motherclucker!

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is super laidback. It's my new favorite spot on the island to eat. True southern hospitality customer service, I'll be back every time I'm visiting. P.S. the Nashville hot big dark chicken meal hits the spot.

Delicious food!!!!! Omg! The absolutely best! The jumbo tender meal novice was the perfect amount of heat without being super spicy, husband had chicken breast and it was also great. I did not care for the mac and cheese. I love most all Mac and cheese but this one was not good. Place was super busy but was seen about quickly and server was friendly! Had lunch outside on the picnic tables everything was nice except for the flies other than that I recommend eating outside and enjoying the scenery.

Excellent frying skills! The chicken and the catfish were both delicious. I highly recommend the Frose - very strong and cold. Family friendly!

A must in St Simon's - a go to for our family. Brussels sprouts are epic and we love the chicken tacos. My kids love the tenders here, def fresh bartered and always good. Place is cool wit nice seating inside and out.

Awesome restaurant close to the village! All the food here is incredible. Apparently they are known for their chicken which was amazing! Definitely try the frose too - they even serve it by the gallon! Perfect spot for a casual bite to eat! Got an entire meal and a drink for under $20!

Get here early! Good counter service restaurant, food is delivered to your table. Fried shrimp, chicken sandwich, catfish, and chicken tenders were all so good! Chicken tenders are HUGE, shrimp were fried perfectly. The pimento cheese grits were delicious, but rich. Mac and cheese was gooey, and the coleslaw a good blend of creamy and vinegar.

I've had everything here from the catfish to the chicken to the shrimp. It's all good. I've tried the napalm once and won't do it again but the Nashville is good af.

A year later & the food is still amazing! The staff is super friendly! The inside is warm & inviting to say the least! We will be back again.

Mom & I stopped in for lunch yesterday. We are on a quick weekend trip to St. Simon's and Jekyll from JAX. Porch was recommended by one of my mom's friends and we enjoyed it. It's quick counter-style ordering, you serve your own drinks from the fountain machine, and your food is brought to your table. Mom ordered the little white (fried) with fries & coleslaw and banana pudding for dessert. She really enjoyed the chicken and banana pudding and didn't eat many fries because there was so much chicken. I ordered fried shrimp, tater tots, and coleslaw. The shrimp were smaller than I expected (we regularly get local shrimp from a fishing boat in Yulee) but they were tasty. We both found it a little weird that there was an untoasted piece of plain white bread at the bottom of the basket and the coleslaw was way too vinegary for our liking. That being said, the staff was nice and the restroom was clean. The place has a nice country barn/industrial vibe and we appreciated the fact there was both indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. We will likely be back the next time we're in the area.

This place is so unique. I came here on a weekend visit. I love being able to sit outside. Service was super fast and friendly. The food was also very good. I also have a shellfish allergy. They accommodated very well. They cook the shrimp and fish separate from the chicken and fries.

On one of my jaunts down in Brunswick, we stopped by this spot for some fried chicken. They have pretty decent parking which could get messy later in the evening. I ordered the Nashville Dark Meat (two thoughts and two legs). The chicken was perfectly fried and had the right amount of crunch. I expected the sauce (Nashville) to be a little spicier but it had a lot of flavor. The Brussel sprouts were decent and so were the queso tots. All in all, this is a good spot for lunch/dinner. It could appear as a tourist spot but the food is really good!

Been coming to SSI my entire life and never have I been to a place like Porch. The chicken/fish combo is great for my wife and I because it gives us both what we want at the same place. Food came out quick and was great, good heat without being overbearing. The location is close to all the action so you can walk, bike or take a golf cart and be in the heart of it all.

Food , Service and seating is Great - will definitely eat here again . Try the Pimento cheese grits - That was our favorite.
