Had a great time here. The food was great, the drinks were good, and it was not too busy midday. There was a downer for me, though. It wasn't that the waitress was by herself, so it took over 30 minutes to get the check and another 10 minutes to pay. It was the fact that they allowed customers to bring dogs inside. I could see maybe if they didn't have a covered patio. But, I would never bring my dog inside where people are sitting down to eat. It is their choice, so I respect it. I just won't be returning for that reason. The food was pretty good, though.

Google
We generally go on Wednesday Steak Night and the steak is very very good and it comes with a potato.. the drinks are also very nice.. but I do think that Steak night and trivia night should be on different days.. maybe more people would show up for Steak Night.. but overall it was a nice night out with friends..

Google
I visited during Santa's Tavern experience and actually had a good time. The Christmas decorations were elaborate and obviously took quite an effort to get done. I liked the creative cocktails on the menu which had names influenced by the holiday season. On this visit, I had the slay all day cocktail and enjoyed it. If you're looking for a bar with a Christmas vibe, this should definitely be on your list.

The guacamole on the nacho is old. The bread on the buffalo chicken sandwich was old and hard.

Google
Definitely exceeded my expectations. My neighbor took us here for the first time to get some crawfish on the first day of the season, did not expect it to be THAT good but it was. Staff was super friendly as well.

Google
I've been coming here for years, especially on Monday, for their wings. Their wings are 🔥 happy hour special and good too. They have everyday life. I love stopping by when I am on a bike ride as well. They are bike friendly and pet friendly outside, of course. The staff and service is always 👌 I definitely recommend this spot for gatherings and just hanging out..

Google
parking is a bit tight when crowded but as expected since the place is pretty large! we went for christmas themed drinks & trivia night — overall good vibes! i can see why this spot has so many regulars food here is decently priced & generously portioned

Google
Cool locals place. Nice bartender Ashley.Great vibe. 40 plus beers on tap plus a full bar. Food menu looks decent. Had some fries. Definitely come for the drinks.

Yelp
Came here with a bunch of girlfriends for their Christmas Bingo in December. It was a blast! I hear they also do trivia nights regularly. The Christmas setup was amazing! Each corner was setup for a cool photo-op with a phone holder and light ring! Definitely make reservations ahead of time. They were completely booked out. Our server was great. She would come by often to check on us and grab our drink orders. The Christmas themed drinks were fun but looked better than they tasted. I loved that they had non-alcoholic themed drinks as well. The food was pub food, but was a good portion and tasted pretty great. I would come again if they do another fun event!

Yelp
First time visit. Sat 12 noon, not too early but maybe a little. Place has its own lot which is really nice, plenty of parking and once inside plenty of tables inside and out. Cool vibe to the place, not a dive bar but not to fancy either...friendly and inviting. Greeted when we walked in and also when we left. Not to many staff as it wasn't very busy so not sure if the bar would of become packed/busy how the staff would of handled it. We came for the crawfish as it is crawfish season, waitstaff took our order and we had our food within 10 mins. They do have a full menu if you have someone in your group that doesn't want crawfish. Crawfish price today was $7.99 per lb, corn and taters are extra. Hot and seasoned very well...great flavor. The only thing I can complain about is the fact that they don't have sweet tea, now they do offer sweet tea made per glass using cold unsweet tea and simple syrup but I passed....sweet tea is never good when you take unsweet and add stuff to it.. The waitstaff was very good and checked on us often and refilled drinks and made sure we had everything we needed. Will come back for sure..

Yelp
Overall seems like a nice place to grab drinks, has trivia every Wednesday and happy hour and food specials throughout the week. We came for trivia (Wednesdays 7pm) one week but found that all the tables were reserved which was really annoying. Why wouldn't you save a few tables for walk ins? Anyways, we went somewhere else that night and came back next week with reservations. Our friend was able to make the reservation the day before we went. Food We ordered the chicken tenders w/fries and Caesar salad, both were good. The salad came with a good amount of grilled chicken but I wished there was more lettuce. Wednesdays food special is a steak or chicken for ~$10, I didn't try it but was tempted lol. Drinks I tried the Mexican candy shot, $5, it was good! Trivia On Wednesdays they have trivia night, 8 rounds, 5 questions each, with a picture round at the end. My friends seemed to go pretty often but it was my first time, and they commented that it was a lot harder than normal. Either way, I had a good time. Service Our waitress was great! She kept our cups full and kept up with all our orders on separate checks. Other staff would help refill waters too. The only confusion was that I saw signs saying HH (drink specials only) is until 7pm weekdays, Thursday all day, but our waitress gave us conflicting information (said it was all night even though it was Wednesday). Parking They have a lot with a good amount of parking space. I didn't have issues at 6:30pm on a Wednesday

Yelp
This review pertains exclusively only to my Wednesday Night trivia experience. Been to at least 8-10 Wednesday trivia nights and can whole-heartedly say it's a lot of fun. They start at around 7pm or just after and would highly recommend calling in advance for a reservation for a table indoors unless you're cool with sitting outside. Parking can be pretty tight so definitely recommend getting there early... like 20-30min early. Or at least have someone get there early to snag a table and wait for people who aren't staying for trivia to leave. In terms of food/service, it can definitely be slow because they're definitely understaffed for the amount of people who can show up during these nights. But since trivia usually runs for over 2 hours and people are mostly just there to have a good time and have a few drinks and food, I personally didn't mind. Servers are friendly despite running around doing everything. My trivia group usually gets a pitcher or two of ziegenbock which is happy hour priced until I think 8pm? It's always a good time. The chicken tenders and fries have been the only food items I've gotten. They're standard, but great fuel for trying to churn out answers to the trivia questions. Overall, fun place on a Wednesday evening. Though can't comment much on any of the other days of the week haha.

Yelp
SOOO AMAZING. Costumer service. YEAH. AMBIANCE. YEAH. FOOD. MMMMM DELICOUS. I would only fix the parking it's kinda bad lol. I would reccomend the garlic wings or the buffalo chicken sandwich, oh and they also got mad pizza. 10/10 WOULD RECCOMEND AGAIN.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
Always a fun place and the staff are so friendly and take good care of you! My favorite place to go during the holidays! They decorate and have fun interactive places to take photos with friends.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is decent pub food, staff super friendly, and it's a great place to hang while getting your car done next door... This place would get five stars, but the chairs... THE BAR STOOLS ARE SO FREAKIN LOUD. Every second someone is moving a chair around, and it's loud AF. I'm willing to donate some chair leg pads to make it not as obnoxious. But tip your bartenders and give the swing a shot!
google avatar

Cecelia C.

Yelp
Definitely for the younger crowd . The drinks are ok. Nice young vibe service takes a long time to get noticed

Yelp
Stopped in here for the first time. We ordered drinks and the Jalepino poppers as a starter while we decided what to eat. When the Jalepino poppers turned up I was disappointed as they were pretty lame..... 6 poppers for $7.0. I wanted to drink up and go and eat somewhere else, but my partner wanted to stay and have pizza. Based on the Jalepino poppers I didn't hold out much hope on the pizza. When it turned up I was pleasantly surprised.... better value and tasting than the poppers. The bar has a good vibe about it and the bar tenders were friendly. I will be back here.

Yelp
Good vibes, lowkey, drinks are pretty cheap, we went for the Christmas drinks and enjoyed! Will have to come back during the regular season to try.

Yelp
Great food, great conversation with staff. Go see Xavier and Ashley. Have not had a dish I did not enjoy so far.

Yelp
We love coming to Porch Swing Pub. The staff are always so kind and friendly!!! PSP has great beer choices and a yummy menu. We tried their wings (hot & spicy garlic) and Buffalo chicken wrap. Both were so good!! We love that they have specials too. PSP is also pet friendly! We will definitely be back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Great local dive bar in the heart of the city. Located along Washington avenue there are plenty of places to pick from but if you are looking for something low key with a nice large patio, this is your spot. They make strong drinks and have a great 'bar' food menu. You must try their pizza... the crust has a great char and sometimes call just to take it for carry out! You'll be happy you stopped by.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Porch Swing has become a regular spot for my friends and I. We absolutely love John, he's the best bartender and so attentive! Sam is awesome as well, so friendly. All of the food we've tried so far has been delicious. The pizza is so good, the dough is fresh. Their wings are good as well and don't knock the table chicken till you try it! Plenty of beers on draft too. Once you visit this place you'll know why we regularly come back!
google avatar

Libby H.

Yelp
Staff is nice but service was quite slow. Had to ask for water multiple times and the food took a very very long time to actually get to the table. The food itself was a hit or miss. If you're coming here to eat, definitely go for the pizzas. My husband got the Enron pizza and said it was solid. I got a sandwich and did not like much. The fries also were okay. Nothing to write off about. The trivia here is quite fun though! It takes around 2 hours compared to the other places I've been to which could be around 3!

Yelp
Monday wing special is my favorite Friendly bar staff and good food. I always enjoy my time there

Lauren L.

Yelp
Love this place!! My friends and I love coming here!! Ashley the bartender is amazing!!! The food is really good! The music that they play is fun and upbeat! Overall 10/10.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in the area & looking for a place we could bring our dog with. Perfect place to grab lunch with your furry friend. Our server was nice enough to bring out a dog bowl with some water. Food was good. Service was good. Only thing I could pick on was the buns on the burgers were dry. We just ate the burger without the bun. Fried pickles as an appetizer are a must !!!

Ella H.

Yelp
Not only does the porch swing pub have hot waiters, their ranch dressing absolutely slaps. We really enjoyed the trivia night on Wednesday, although make sure to bring your sweat rag because it gets pretty intense.

Bill W.

Yelp
Reliably disappointing and has been for years. No idea why I keep giving it chances. Go somewhere else. Henderson heights is just down the road and 10x better.
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
This is a great spot for a drink or bite to eat. Southern hospitality and good service all rolled into one. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area. Both times I've been in town, Casey has been welcoming and fun, and helpful in our decisions in other local spots to visit. I'll be back anytime I'm in Houston!
google avatar

Juan H.

Yelp
The place looks small outside when you drive by it but once inside, it's very spacious. The employees are wonderful. Especially Marvin. He made my first visit a awesome one. Some of my friends have been coming to this place and have nothing but great reviews. Am glade I came here. I'll definitely swing by to this place when I get a chance. By the way, I wasnt hungry so I decided to get a Grilled Chicken Ceaser Salade... Great portion with nicely grilled chicken.
google avatar

Reed F.

Yelp
Porch Swing pub is a solid place to grab a brewski in The Heights. Trivia Wednesdays are always a good time despite oddly specific categories. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and the wings are delicious
google avatar

AJ G.

Yelp
Love this place! Pretty chill spot to grab a drink or two and enjoy some amazing pizza. I live down the street from this place and enjoy taking a stroll down for some evening beers or just to pickup a pizza for dinner. They outdoors section is large and offers multiple TVs to watch games. Inside is also spacious. The bartenders and servers are awesome and friendly. Their pizza is outstanding - super fresh, chewy yet crunchy, and HUGE! Also get the Spinach & Artichoke Dip and Jalapeño Poppers, you will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Rex C.

Yelp
Waitstaff is a little slow here Stopped in again for some hot wings with a friend. Very good wings. Hot is pretty dam hot. Nice outside patio seating. My friend got hot pickles so I tried a few of those. They were tasty. Real nice place to kick back have a cold one and get some great food. There Philly cheese steaks are really good as well Wing special on Mondays
google avatar

Giovanni A.

Yelp
The owners and management are amazing and know all the regulars. Longtime fav of many houstonians. Their food is above typical bar food standards. Have plenty of options for beer lovers, liquor drinkers and more
google avatar

Lavinia D.

Yelp
Only reason why I ever come here is for 35 cent wings in Monday's. They aren't the best wings but they're great for the price. Found out recently that you have to buy a drink to get the deal. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the mood for cheap wings. Also tried the corn dogs and fried pickles. Very greasy so I'll stick to the wings
google avatar

Ray V.

Yelp
Excellent food! Awesome steaks! Huuuge! I came on Wednesday and the specials are awesome! Delicious beer. I highly recommend it! Nachos are delicious as well. Very satisfied!
google avatar

Iris A.

Yelp
I was a little confused on how to order drinks or food. No one came up to us. I think they were just busy. I went to the bar and the bartender did an awesome job at taking our order. They had a feature on the menu on the table that the bartender didn't even know was there. I ordered a Porch Swing Mule instead and it was great. Food and drinks were good!
google avatar

Emilia R.

Yelp
Great place to meet coworkers or friend for a night at the bar. Great pitcher prices and Ashlee's my favorite bartender!
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
EXCELLENT FOOD, DRINKS, & CUSTOMER SERVICE! The bar is all female owned & managed. Our bartender was Casey & had great drink suggestions. The burger, side salad, Philly Cheesesteak, & onion rings were so good! We will definitely be back for the laid back & welcoming atmosphere too.
google avatar

Diona W.

Yelp
Friends and I stopped here before dinner for a drink. My gin and tonic was made perfectly. I am not sure I will go back, but it was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
Porch Swing is one of the "less Washington-like" bars on Washington. Make sense? Meh, well let me see if I can explain. I've been coming here for years, and I appreciate both Porch Swing and Front Porch for its simplicity. It's laid back, meaning you can - and should - venture out on a beautiful day wearing sandals/flip flops; throw on some sunnies, a ball cap and bring your dog. Keep it casual. During crawfish season, it's a great spot for Saturday/Sunday day drinking, offering up mudbugs from noon-7pm (or til they run out). I actually enjoyed a couple of pounds of their crawdads a couple Saturdays ago and thoroughly enjoyed 'em. At around $5 a pound, spicy and decent sized, I'd certainly come back again. They also offer it on Tues/Thur 6-10pm. Come the fall/football season, Monday's are a busy night due to the two-dollar pints and .25-cent wings from 5pm til close. Service at the bar is typically average, but if you snag a seat outside, the ladies sure know how to take care of your group. Drinks and food are non-stop. Music, well, I'm not a big fan of the selection patrons pick for the electronic jukebox; I guess it's more reason to bring cash. There's lots of parking, more than other bars in the area, but it always fills up fast. Lucky for you, you're allowed to park at the credit union/bank along Yale.between Washington and Center Street.
google avatar

Nancy R.

Yelp
Okay okay...wow the two for service and good tasting drink. Buut beers 6 bucks for a st arnolds pint on HH... seriously?? 4 bucks up and down washington. This is typical owners when business goes down screw the few customers u have and then run THOSE out as well. Great strategy! 6.50 for half blue moon half screwdriver pints woohoo a whole fifty cents off on HH... my goodness. It wouldnt be so bad but the worse tasting processed frozen fries w a half decent burger. 8 dollars. Rather pay a buck or two more and get an amazing huge fresh everything burger. ..what a darn shame had really liked this place before. The pooch likes it here but there r so many other dog friendly bars now.Was having a good time til I saw the tab. Did not complain but will never be back.
google avatar

Sonya D.

Yelp
Went for trivia and steak night, warmly greeted by several staff. Everyone was super kind and attentive. Told about the happy hour drinks and specials, made to feel at home. The steak night deal is super fantastic. 16oz ribeye with loaded baked potato for $14.99. That's right! Steak was cooked to perfection, flavorful and juicy. We enjoyed the visit. Regarding the trivia, it was very fun. Would recommend two things, a bit of time to think and converse with our teams, this seemed more like speed trivia. Also, your mic/sound system needs major help. It could use an upgrade. Regardless, we will be back. Fun times
google avatar

Martha M.

Yelp
This place has the worst customer service ever! The need more waiters and the crawfish is nasty!!! Don't waste your time and money to come here it is not worth it!!!
google avatar

Joseph V.

Yelp
So just a quick update from my last visit. Everything was great! The server was awesome, there was somewhere to sit right when we came in and yes, they have a Monday special! I had no idea, but they have 35 cent wings on Mondays!!! I literally paid 9 bucks for 24 wings. You just can't beat that. Will surely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I travel the country. Always looking for a local place. This was perfect. Friendly neighborhood feel, staff was welcoming. Had the chicken wrap at the bar, food was served promptly, hot and fresh. This is my H town go to spot from now on. Thanks for a great mean and atmosphere.

Yelp
TLDR: Dog Friendly, the pineapple cider is an absolute 10/10, wings satisfying for bar standards (the sweet Chile sauce is actually really amazing). Area: (4/5) Parking is a bit annoying in This area of Houston but we didn't have problems because it wasn't too crowded on a Friday evening. The venue itself is pretty large. The patio is bigger than I've seen in most bars with a patio. I haven't been inside too often so I can't tell you much about it. It has your typical bar scene inside. Dim lights, alcohol on display in the background, yeah the usual. Outside has some coverings and a lot of tables to choose to sit at. Food: (4/5) - I ordered 50 pairs of wings. They had maybe 6-7 flavors but we had 5 flavors, 10 each. I honestly wasn't sure what flavors since 2 of them tastes the same. For sure, we had lemon pepper (fried dry rub, decent mix of sour and pepper), hot (well 20 wings tasted like hot), garlic (had dipping sauce on side, meh), and Thai chili. Now this Thai chili was actually the bomb and raised my brow. It was savory and sweet but it wasn't too sweet that sickens you after eating too much. The wings themselves looks like it was fried and crispy and then doused in the sauces. It wasn't juicy because the meat was probably overcooked but I get wings for the sauces. -Sweet potato fries. You really can't mess it up. They didn't have any seasoning that I can taste so ‍. Service: (4/5) It seems like some other reviewed whine (each to their own) about the lack of service. Well, it is true. I didn't see a lot of waiters and such but my waiter did his job. Sure, it was a lot slower than it should be but if you're drinking and having a good time (I.e. you drank and have a good buzz going on), then it shouldn't matter. The busboys came and grabbed one food and refilled our water. The waiter got us our food and checked up on us. No problemo. I did not review and revise to save time.
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
I may have said this before, but it's worth repeating. Ashley is the best Bartender/waitress/server ever! She does it all. Her partner apparently did not make it in with people in and outside for the Astros game and everyone is being taken care of. She's amazing! I will always recommend this place because of her. She deserves a raise for sure!!
google avatar

Arch M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed coming here. I guess all things come to an end. My usual waitress was walking out as we walked in. Place wasn't real busy. Ordered burgers which they couldn't seem to get to us. Blame was placed from one employee to another. I understand things sometimes happen but it all didn't seem to add up. Mgr tried to send order of burgers home in a to go container. Might of been a bad day on my part. Oh well.
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
This is my mother's favorite spot. The secret is their Frozen Blue Moon beer. She goes there and has a snack of jalapeño poppers. I my self don't love it but I agree with on those two menu items. Their wings aren't bad either but they're mostly snacks, bar food, and bar! You can bring your pups here too out on the porch as you watch the daily college kids ride the bar cycle around the neighborhood. I've never been able to eat an actually meal here because they're always out of menu items. They only serve snacks, no actual meals, their drink variations are lacking. So for that I'm pretty sad. Other than that it's a fair place to sit, enjoy the sun, watch a game, or do nothing at all.
google avatar

Haley K.

Yelp
Classic dive bar. Service is okay, but not the best and if you don't buy alcohol, don't expect any attention. Have been here for $0.35 wings night and trivia night, and have enjoyed both experiences. The mini corn dogs are my favorite item on the menu and they have a wide beer selection. I love to sit outdoors on the porch and play trivia with a group or just catch up after work. Low key and casual but good bar food and beer.
google avatar

Stephen B.

Yelp
Amazing night at the Porch Swing after a recommendation from Jeanie and we are some fried pickles, even though normally I don't like pickles, but these were incredible. Ashley took care of us and they even have a pretty sweet darts setup, and a nice outside patio. They also have plenty of tv's if you want to watch some NFL football. Definitely a great place to come!
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Loud on nice weekend days. Smoke blowing allover if you are on the porch. Dog bowls were available but didn't look like they'd been cleaned in awhile. The people were all nice and seemed like they were having a fun Sunday afternoon. The drinks were good but not on any special price and the bar food is subpar. I'd hangout here but won't say it's a favorite.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Love this place. I've been here a few times. It has a really chill vibe. Lots of tvs for game watching. Pool, darts, etc. the outdoor patio is a GREAT spot in a great neighborhood. Love the frozen moons. Parking can get a little crammed on busy days, but not a big deal. The servers and bartenders were all awesome. Will be back. Haven't tried the food, but I hear it's decent.
google avatar

Rycole S.

Yelp
Came here for dinner the food was ok kinda high priced in my opinion. The sampler was not worth $12 in my opinion ‍

Tara G.

Yelp
The crawfish was perfect! It came out hot and perfectly seasoned and was great. Cocktails were good and service was good as well
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Been a regular for 7 years. Ashley does a great job of making us feel welcome, and the Monday night football wings and bingo special has become a tradition amongst friends.
google avatar

Robin P.

Yelp
Great wings and friendly staff my favorite Monday place. Free parking is a big deal my last wing place lost because of rude parking lot attendants. Easy to get to and lots of TV's
