Porchetta Shack

Even better than the original car needed as snack shack. The food was spot on as far as portion size and flavors go. The tacos were perhaps the best I have ever eaten. The pig sandwich was out of this world as far as flavor goes and the 3 different kinds of pork were all cooked to perfection. The chopped rib eye sandwich was also a winner. And the poor tshadda sandwich was incredible. The French fries were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. All the portions were extremely generous in addition to being priced at probly half of what you should expect to pay for them. My only suggestion would be to what the shuff know if you are sensitive to spicy food. While I did not find the spices to be overwhelming a small child or someone with a more sensitive palate may prefer to have less spice on the food. This place is definitely a winner.

Went here tonight for dinner. Really sad Carnitas Snack Shack is gone, but this place is definitely worth checking out. Got the fried chicken sandwich, fries, and a fountain drink for $16.38. The food was great. Fried chicken sandwich was delicious. Fries taste exactly like the Carnitas Snack Shack fries, and good selection of fountain drinks. I like that they offer paper straws instead of plastic. While it is a little pricey to go here the quality of food and atmosphere can't be beat!

Delicious food, and very friendly service. It features a great patio dining section with a full bar and beers on tap. Not a tremendous beer selection, but what they did have was solid. It's only outdoor seating, so be mindful there will be flies especially with the warmer weather coming. Definitely coming back to try more from their menu!

Same chef as Carnita's Snack Shack. I could live without the tacos or the fries, but the fried pork was some of the juiciest I've ever had. I recommend either the milanesa or "the pig".

Got the porchetta sandwich, the tots, and the chicharrones with cheese sauce. Sandwich was okay, the red sauce kinda overpowers it until you just add a small bit per bite. Tots were good, but nothing prepared us for the chicharrones. They were crispy and well seasoned and the sauce it came with made the rest of the food amazing. If you get one thing here make it the chicharrons or at least the cheese .

Good vibe, cool patio seating behind restaurant. Don't even know your right on University ave. Enjoyed the tacos and tater tots/fresh fries combo.

I know there’s a whirlwind of drama around the transformation of the Carnitas Snack Shack into The Porchetta Shack. I don’t care. What I do care about is how bland the carnitas were in the Carnitas Snack Shack’s last days. But when I saw the restaurant had been re-painted, relabeled and re-staffed I was keen to see what had changed. The talent is still here, and it comes out in the food. The Porchetta Sandwich is a huge meaty meal on a bun, with attached sauces. But the real premier sandwich so far has been the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Dusted with a curious, herbaceous chiffonade, and complete with pickles and spice, it’s a massive meal and a treat. Great fries and tater-tots, too. Whatever left the Carnitas Snack Shack, it didn’t take the talent with it. You owe it to yourself to try the reincarnation.

A worthy replacement of carnitas! I actually liked this place more and the choices were more favorable. The porchetta sandwich isn't Italian style and I still believe that the traditional porchetta sandwiches from Italy are superior. However this take on the staple sandwich is good as well! The tater tots were surprisingly good! Definitely home made. Go grab a beer at the bar and watch sports at this casual environment
