"The original location in Bucktown was supposed to be just the beginning of global expansion. Barbecue sandwich-focused Pork & Mindy’s, which combined partner and Food Network star Jeff Mauro’s big-time name recognition with an army of deep-pocketed investors, had ambitious plans to populate the globe with fast-casual restaurants. But after opening a few locations in the city and in Mariano’s grocery stores, plus announcing a few others would open soon, the bottom fell out. First, after delaying the openings of some coming-soon locations, many diners wondered if they would happen at all. Then warning bells sounded when the original location closed in August, although the company announced plans to turn it into a private event space and training center. Finally, less than three months later the death knell arrived in the form of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing. Sometimes fame and money don’t lead to successful restaurant chains." - Daniel Gerzina

Great & delicious food period! We had the Pastramindy Ruben sandwich , and the to die for Pig Candy Sweet heat bacon..yum! The pulled pork mushroom salad bowl with assorted ingredients. A regular Totty with ranch dressing. Sooo good!

I've read the other reviews & must have lucked out. I asked the director to recommend a few things. He went above and beyond. I enjoyed the beef sandwich and a turtle nado. My experience was sublime. Highly recommend coming here.

Delicious smoked meats and sides. Perfect for paleo and keto diets and everybody else. Pit bowls can be served over cauliflower rice or romaine, with many choices for toppings to go with your meat choice. We will be back for more.

A very unique BBQ place! I absolutely love the Tot'tine, which is poutine tots with cheese, chives, gravy, and pickled onions. I tried it with the sauces too, but it didn't really need more flavoring because it's already perfect. My husband ordered the Bao sandwich, and our friend ordered the Buffalo tots (recommended by the owner). I also shared a Memphis shake with my husband (peanut butter, bacon, honey shake)! So good!!!!

I had the hot chicken sangwich as the way they put it on their menu not bad I thought it was going to be spicy hot cuz of the word hot but it wasn't still good tho. I had some tots with ranch to go with it nice good lunch.

I got the Bao to the Pork and it was phenomenal. I’m still working on recreating it at home! Make sure you check out the Jones soda fountain and the selection of sauces for sale. (The plum and apricot habanero are phenomenal).

My wife and I stopped in for dinner last Thursday after checking into the hotel across the way. Staff was friendly and helped us with the questions we had. This was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was great! I also wanted to note that this restaurant was exceptionally clean. My wife even noted someone in the back of the kitchen scrubbing the floor. Definitely a great place to stop in.
