Porky's Kaua’i

The #3 pulled pork with grilled onions, provolone and havarti cheese, and fresh pineapple was the best grilled cheese I’ve had in my life. And the macaroni salad was amazing! Definitely a must if you’re in the area!

One of my favorite places to eat! They had one in Utah for a very long time until Covid took place. If you were in Kauai, make sure you stop and eat here. You will not get disappointed! My favorite is their number four, and I have them at the infused sausage with the pork.

We've been meaning to stop in and try Porky's and missed our chance while visiting a month ago. It was worth the wait. Now the only thing left to decide is is it reasonable to eat here for both lunch and dinner? The debate is still raging in our family -- dog or grilled cheese? Either way -- 5 pigs 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷!!

What you see pictured is a #2&3. We’ve been on a minor food tour of the island. It’s common to find good food but rare to find reasonably priced and great food. The portions were definitely on the filling side and included a drink in the price. The Kalua pork meat was great. Staff was warm and accommodating with putting pineapple on the side. We will be back For sure.

A little spot in an outdoor shopping area. Service was good and fast and the food was great. Got the dog with pulled pork with pineapple on top and bbq sauce on the side. Did not disappoint. Would recommend 👌

So this was one of the best things I’ve eaten in Kauai. I’m GF so I had the number 4. Spouse had the #1 but over rice instead of a bun. Did the pickled onions and cucumbers for the sides. Did the spicy sauce. So good! Very flavorful. Would love to eat here again! After your meal there’s a cute little old town area to walk around. Koloa is just a nice quiet area. Oddly there were NO chickens anywhere near the restaurant.

RECOMMENDATION - 5/5 STARS - EAT HERE! (1:30pm - Saturday in May) (3 adults) VALUE - $53 - 4/5 - Number 1 - 6/5 - EAT THIS!!! Pork sausage infused with pineapple, Kalua pork, grilled onions and diced pineapple, all inside a toasted hogie. OMG I could eat this once a week. SO GOOD! - Number 3 - 5/5 - my son LOVED this. Like a grilled cheese! - Number 4 (baby) - 5/5 - my wife LOVED this. Said it was totally enough food, an adult version would be too much. PORTION SIZE- 4/5 LARGE - SERVICE- 4/5 Nice server. Happy to answer questions. Food got to us within 5 minutes. ATMOSPHERE - 4/5 In an open air mall. Eating was inside / outside. But even inside there was open windows and doors. It was nice. We will be back and we will recommend this place.

Came here on a Friday evening and ordered the Number One with Mac salad and a juice. It was delicious! Was even lucky enough to be serenaded in their outdoor covered seating area.

You wouldn't think that Porkys was groundbreaking by just reading their menu options, but man, it may just be among the best sandwiches I've ever had. Yes, it's a lot of pork. A pork sausage with a nice heap of kalua pork on top. The Kalua pork is amazing; bursting with flavor and it combines perfectly with the fresh pineapple. I think the cheesy hoagie roll may be the perfect compliment to it all though, as I loved the crispy toasted cheese with every bite. It's a cute little restaurant with a fair amount of seating. Friendly staff as well. Would strongly recommend, even if it's just for a quick snack. Please check out Porkys!

Well,well... the sandwiches are excellent! I had the one with pulled pork and havarti cheese with dropped pineapple and a side of macaroni salad: de-effing-licious!!!! It was flavorful, packed with pulled pork so yummy, the cheese just how I like it: melting and every bite a delight. Service is order at the counter and pick it up, the kitchen is open behind the counter so you can see what is being prepared. We sat outside on a high table so we could look out, people watching and enjoying the chill vibe. Will likely stop by again on another visit to Koloa. No alcohol available - no biggie - so had a Sprite and my companion a Guava juice. He had a pork dog with a side of macaroni salad (copycat ) and the spicy-sweet sauce. As some of you know I am deadly allergic to chili so couldn't taste his hot dog but it looked very inviting. The marketplace has some lovely stores, a fresh market, juice bar, and a couple other eateries that opened later in the day. It's not a huge place but nice for a stroll around and maybe have a shave ice at Mango's or a coffee at Ali'i Coffee. Stop by any of these places and enjoy the Aloha spirit and friendliness of the area people.

A million times, yes you should come here! Staff is friendly, plenty of seating, and it's tasty! My guy and I split the Number Three and it was the best kalua pork we had the entire trip. The sammich was very filling and we enjoyed every bite of it. While the sammich was mouthwatering and is a 5/5 for me, the rest of the dish has me bringing the rating down to a 4: - the rice was lukewarm and didn't add anything to the dish - the sauce was also too sweet, so we didn't use it - it's pricey. I wish they had options to not do a combo because we didn't need a side or a drink Still one of our favorite meals on the island.

This small restaurant is in the middle of a mid-sized retail shopping center. Their menu is straight-forward, see my pic. Also check out my drink menu pic, particularly their drink pricing. We were a bit early for the lunch hour and we were served quickly. Of course, we had to try the Number One. This is a meat lover's delight: a pork sausage covered with kalua pork. It is seasoned with diced pineapple and grilled onions - can't go wrong. The bun held it all together. Overall, the meat flavors were mild but you go away filled.

Best food I've had here in Kauai. Recommend the number 3 with sweet/spicy sauce. Super nice service and so yummy!

Friendly service - Open seating - Weak flavor Before I go negative Nancy I wanna give kudos to the friendly staff and the open seating that made the meal enjoyable to eat in. But, overall this wasn't a winner for me. As far as BBQ goes - this wasn't your typical southern BBQ, perhaps it's the Hawaiian version but to me it was a bland copy. Their pork was tender and cooked well. It came with plenty of pineapple, red onions, and rice. Portions were great! But the flavor of true BBQ was far from where it needed to be. We got the #1 and #4 which was a hotdog with pork and pulled pork with rice. The sauce was the most sus part, which IMO makes the BBQ. Their version of spicy is weak. The #1 - if I had to eat here again is what I'd choose, pretty tasty! But the pork alone was missing something. I saw a few TikTok's recommending this place, I can't meat this review with the same excitement. Not a bad choice by any means, but not the best.

Sandwiches were pretty bomb, the two local ladies working the counter were super chill and cool to wala'au with. I'd highly recommend their take on a pulled pork sandwich- so 'ono! Can't remember exactly what it was called, but it's my go to when I'm fixed on getting a quick bite when we're on the south side. Service is super quick. We always call in our order-otherwise, be prepared to hit a long line of tourists asking every question under the sun. Save yourself the headache and order ahead.

Why is this rated so high? This place was absolutely disgusting. From the interior (which was full of flies) to the horrible pork, this place deserves 1 star. Keep in mind: we came here at 3:30 pm today (Thursday) and there was one person ahead of us... we still had to wait 35 minutes for our food in a humid, fly - ridden place. I ordered the #3 which is a pulled pork grilled cheese. It had zero flavor whatsoever. The pork was grey, and there was barely any pineapple. There is no way this is pulled pork. It tasted boiled. I had to throw it away. Also- stay away from the chips... they're so stale.

The #3 kalua pork grilled cheese was excellent comfort food! Can't go wrong with a delicious hot grilled cheese sando after a long day outside. Loved eating all the poke daily, but fitting in a hot savory grilled cheese meal just provided a different kind of good eatin! Noted the 2 hot dog joints before the trip, porkys and the one by the beach which seemed popular. But I just couldn't consider eating a hot dog in Kauai, no matter how good it may be, so I chose porkys solely for the grilled cheese:) Both sauces were good, but if getting just one, the sweet & spicy sauce is the way to go to dip extra flavor punch to your sando. Pickled red onions was perfect to munch on in between the savory rich bites of the grilled cheese. And the Hawaiian Sun green tea was excellent refreshment. Initially sat inside, but then said why not sit outside in paradise?! But sitting at the outdoor bar seating did expose face to the sun, so do wear a hat or sunglasses if sitting there:) Just choose the #1 entree + side + drink and enjoy!

Who would've thought adding fresh pineapples to kalua pork makes a world of difference? Porkys Kalua did! The meal was made fresh and the cashiers were super helpful and friendly. Nice outdoor tables and indoor tables . Hot tasty food! Yummy!

On a scale of shut your doors to franchise, this earns my shut your door award. 1. Lazy service from porky associate lady behind the counter. 2. Place wasn't so busy and food took 35 minutes. 3. Gross dirty place: tables dirty, flys everywhere, looked dirty behind the counter. 4. Grilled cheese pork sandwich: grossest pork I've tasted on the island. Just a bland massive fail. Conclusion: bad service, dirty restaurant, bad and bland food. Do the island a favor: shut down and close your doors.

Amazing, unique and delicious, food! All 5 members of my family LOVED it..and that is very difficult to accomplish. The pineapple infused sausage with sweet and spicy barbeque sauce - YUM! My 17 year old daughter said their hot dog was the best she's ever had. Great service - very personable owner!

I'm devastated I found this place the day before I left Kauai ! BY FAR one of my favorite places to eat on the island !!!! The Menu is simple... you have 4 choices 1. Pineapple infused pork sausage with pulled kalua pork and melted cheese 2. Hot dog with pulled kalua pork and chopped pineapple 3. Pulled kalua pork grilled cheese sandwich with chopped pineapple inside 4. Bowl of rice with kalua pork and chopped pineapple each entree comes with 1 side and 1 drink the sides are: Mac salad, rice, bag of chops or pickled onions and cucumber so what do you pick ? I have had them all, and For me, the clear winner was the pulled pork, chopped pineapple grilled cheese sandwich! AND you HAVE to ask for the spicy BBQ sauce. It completes not just the sandwich but the hot dog and the infused pork sausage. THIS IS THE PERFECT LUNCH SPOT If you are in Kauai, this place is a MUST HAVE if you are hungry for lunch, or really any time you are hungry.

Porkys never disappoints! This was our first time at the new location in Koloa, but the food is always consistently satisfying. The new location is a pretty nice setup on the corner right next to an ice cream shop & Kauai Juice Co. The sweet & spicy combination with the dog & pulled pork is always incredible. We're already looking forward to visiting again soon!

This place is a must go if you are on Kauai! The food is delicious. I recommend the Number 1 (pineapple sausage) or Number 3 (grilled cheese) with Mac salad. Honestly- everything is good. The restaurant is clean, nice/good vibes... the staff is very friendly! I'm going to be dreaming about the grilled cheese till we come back. The sauces are delicious. I prefer the spicy sauce but the sweet one is also delicious. The spicy has a little kick to it but it's very tasty. Come with an empty stomach because the portions are big and you will leave feeling full and happy. As a bonus, I found out it's owned by the cutest family who lives nearby.

pork city as the name would suggest, this place specializes in pork. and they do it well. we tried their pork hotdog with pulled pork and pineapples on top. the dog was juicy and speckled with pineapple pieces. and pulled pork was juicy as well. the highlight was the bun which had crispy cheese on the sides. decedent and delicious.

Ordered number 4 and left disappointed. It didn't seem like much pork and couldn't help but feel my pork was plated on top of the two scoops of rice to fluff it up versus on its own like in other photos. My scoop of mac salad was also very wet and didn't hold together. Flavor of the pineapple and the tangy sweet sauce was good though. I just didn't feel it was worth $18+ tax and tip. Edit: Also just realized our kids grilled cheese plate had the side of chips pre-plated. Looks like others have received a choice of chips in a new snack bag. Guessing they changed the way they serve food or it's inconsistent...

We went on a Friday afternoon, not crowded. The spot was super cute, super clean. Open, airy outdoor seating with shade. My husband has been wanting to try this place since the last time we came to Kauai a couple years ago. We weren't hungry this day, but he had to go try it. So happy we did! We split the grilled cheese with pork. Omg- so delish!!!! The bread was grilled perfectly, the cheese and the pork just melts in your mouth. Perfect amount of grilled onions. If you are around the area, I definitely recommend stopping by.

Awesome walk in and to go. Rice was so delicate and perfect with the pork, oh yeah the macaroni was awesome too!

First off, the food here is unique and delicious! Definitely pork forward, which I'm a fan of. It's like a combination of a brat with kalua pork on top, the outside of the buns has cheese seared into it. The sauces are delicious and the Mac salad is the best we've had in Kauai. The server was friendly and joked around with us and we enjoyed that a lot. Mostly outdoor seating but it's in a cool setting and you can hear the music from a nearby bar. For a quick bite and a beer this is the spot for sure!

Amazing food. Short wait. Friendly staff. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back! The sauces were good. I like very spicy, I wish the spicy was "actually" spicy.

After reading a few reviews from Porkys, I knew my family and I had to stop by, and wow, was that a good idea! The shop was easy to find, in a cute little shopping/dining zone in downtown Kōloa. They have a nice seating area and a very manageable menu with only 4-5 options. My mom got the #4 and she really appreciated that they had a gluten free option. She thought it was really good and very filling (but ask for an extra sauce, given how much rice there was). My dad got the #1 (hot dog) and it was delicious, especially with the sweet and spicy sauce. My sister and I got the #3 (pork on cheese toast) and it was incredible! The cheese toast was perfectly crispy, the pork was tender, the pineapple pieces were nice and small, and the sweet and spicy sauce was delightful! The sweet and spicy sauce was not really spicy at all, so don't expect serious heat, but the flavor of the sauce was amazing. The service was very good and it seems like they made everything quite fresh. Would definitely come back!

Loved this place! Service was so welcoming. They were so nice to us even though they were closing up soon and even offered us some free food to take home! The decor was nice inside and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I loved the porky's hot dog even though I did not expect to. The meat was nice and crisp on the outside and cooked to perfection. It went so well with their macaroni salad and we washed it down with one of their special Hawaiian sodas. Highly recommend this spot.

I got the grilled cheese with pork and pineapple inside. It was something different when you think of a grilled cheese but in a good way. It was very filling as well. Great stop before heading to the beach nearby.

Get yourself a delicious dog from Porky's -- topped with pulled pork, pineapple, and BBQ sauce, this was one of our group's favorite food stops on Kauai. The staff was very friendly, even recommending other places we could try if we needed food while the power was out island-wide (we ended up waiting it out and getting Porky's instead). And though the seating inside is limited, food is served in to-go boxes that allow you to eat outside in the plaza or at a nearby beach if you'd prefer.

Terrific take on our Hawaiian favorite Kalhua Pork. Simple menu makes it easy to choose. There are four different dishes. We had three. For sides there is rice, Mac salad and pickled onions. Some locale with outdoor seating in a small shopping plaza. Order at the counter and wait at a table. They also have POG and a limited selection of Maui beers.

Food (5/5 stars): Porky's in Koloa has a small and simple menu but serves up delicious Hawaiian food! I went with their Baby Kalua Pork meal, which had the perfect amount of food and even included a side and drink. I loved the flavor of the Kalua Pork but the Sweet and Spicy sauce was the highlight. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: pretty reasonable and worth it! * Wait Time: less than 10 minutes during a summer evening * Service: very good and friendly! * Parking: there are nearby parking lots and street parking * Ambiance: it's a nice, modern, and simple quick service restaurant

Unbelievable pork!!! We had the #3 and #4, both were great. For the #3 think a cheese sandwich with pork. Service was awesome.

Oh yeah! Oooh yeah! Perfect and simple menu for a great and filling meal!! Family of 4 and we got 4 different items and they were all amazing! The staff understood and executed wonderfully our difficult order and they are made hot and fresh! Drinks included! The fresh air wafting through the open doors makes this place an amazing place after the beach. Recommend all the items!

We visited the new Koloa town location during our April 2024 trip. We went twice, and during our January 2022, and April 2023 trip we visited their Waimea location. This trip we got the food to go, brought over to Poipu Beach while watching the sunset. So fun! My young adult sons, also got hot dogs, as soon as we landed and hit the food trucks, then they ran across the street for the hot dogs at Porkys. So we basically came 2 times. :) The owner is super nice and interacted with us during our first two trips there at the Waimea location, explaining how he raises the pigs, which was cool. *Ambiance: 5/5 ~Warm and Inviting, easy to order from the menu, easily accessible at the new Koloa Town shops, close to Kauai Juice Co. There was a long line, but it went pretty quick, and it was Spring Break, so we figured they were cooking for a lot of orders. Their number system is simple and easy to use. For example, #1 is a Pineapple Sausage. *Food: 5/5 ~Macaroni Salad: simple and flavorful 5/5 ~Pineapple Sausage (my personal favorite, the charred sausage topped with diced pineapple), So Good! 5/5 ~Rice Bowl: 2 scoops of rice topped with the pulled pork and choice of sauces, topped with onions and pineapple, ask for extra sauce ~100% All Beef Frank: 5/5, the char puts it over the top *Service: 5/5 ~As stated above, everyone is super friendly, I understand a lot of the local places are short-staffed, so know this going in, our food took awhile, but it was a Friday night during peak vacation season *Value: 5/5 ~This was one of the most affordable meals on your trip to Kauai for our family of 6 adult/teen children Go check them out or get them to go while you watch the sunset~ You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I loved this place. We got the 1 and 3 meals. Mine was a pineapple infused sausage with Kaula Pork and my wife got the 3 which was basically a grilled cheese with kaula pork. The food was delicious and the two workers were super helpful and kind. I would recommend this place 100%.

This is a highly Kaua'i experience with a very unique menu and a good location. Just be prepared that it's gonna take a while for the food to get to you, but it is worth the wait. definitely a meal and a half and full of lots of meat options I would probably recommend grab and go if you're looking to balance the meal with an adult beverage

It was good. Friendly staff. The food was cooked a little hot had a little oil burn taste to it. Had it been cooked a little slower definitely would have been five stars. We will try again.

We were going to another famous hotdog place, but we were limited on time and they had a really long line so we found porky's and it was delicious! We all got different things and All really enjoyed our hotdogs. I got the hotdog with pineapple in it with the sweet chili sauce and use some mustard as well and it was so good! My friends who got the same sausage but pork on top with the pineapple it was good, but if you want the pork, I would suggest just getting it on the rice and don't bother with a hotdog.

Delicious food and friendly staff! It's a cute little restaurant located in a plaza with other food spots and shops. Parking is plentiful. We placed our order at the counter and sat ourselves in their little outdoor area. If you need to use the restroom ask for the code! I got the pork with rice entree with pickled onions and Hawaiian sun drink and my husband got the pork on a hotdog bun with chips and an Arizona iced tea. We really enjoyed our food! Sauce was flavorful, pork was tender and we appreciated that the pricing was decent!

I can't believe this place doesn't have a line out the door. My partner and I split the #1 plate and the pineapple + pork was incredible. Roll was soft and flavorful. I'm usually not a bbq person but this was the best meal we had on the trip so far. Go enjoy :)

Serendipitous timing. Porky's Kaua'i came out on the top places to eat list while we were on vacation in Kaua'i. Absolutely had to go. The staff was thrilled to make the list but said they were as busy as ever. Located in a small outdoor mall, there is abundant parking in the area. (That doesn't mean it isn't busy.) Porky's is towards the front of the mall. The shop itself is open air and has a fair number of tables in front of the shop. However with Porky's popularity, they are frequently full. Only 4 items on the menu and all are excellent. Food totally reflects the flavors of the islands. I ate the hotdog and pork sandwich, excellent. Their bbq sauce is spicy-sweet and tops the sandwich perfectly. meals come with a side and drink. Most of which are island/local favorites. Absolutely an awesome meal experience.

Killer! Had to have the beef dog with Kalua pork 3x on our trip. So good! They crisp the cheese on the outside of the bun, and the spicy BBQ sauce...just really great!

I consider myself an authority on hot dogs. As such an authority, you should take it very seriously when I say this was one of the BEST HOT DOGS OF MY LIFE. Closely rivaled by a ballpark dog at a Memphis Redbirds game, but that's a tale for another review. We had the #2, pork on an all beef frank, but the #1 -- PORK ON PORK -- sounds amazing as well. My husband really enjoyed the grilled cheese/pork sandwich (#3). I'll concede it was good, but it was all about the hot dog for me. I love a place that does a couple of things and does them well -- that's Porky's. Great toppings and great sauce on top of your fav meats.

Wish we had pics to share but we dug right in and demolished our plates! We ordered the #1 and #2 and both of us were happy! The sweet & spicy bbq sauce was great, even for someone like me who can't tolerate super spicy. Atmosphere was nice.

Super nice girl who took our order and guy who made the food. Engaged in conversation about Kauai, etc. there are 4 meal options. Simple and easy to order. Ordered the grilled cheese with Kalua pig and a dipping sauce. It was so good! I liked that the tables had fly repelling spinning devices. Very clean and nice interior.

Stopped here on the way to Waimea based off the reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the flavors were very cohesive all together - sweet, spicy, tangy. Everything came out very quickly and the prices aren't terrible either. Cute outdoor area to sit and people watch, but also have a few tables inside.

My favorite spot for kalua pork on the island! This place offers a nice variety of different hot dogs and their sweet Hawaiian rolls but don't skip the pork here. It's a nice little shop perfect for picking up lunch and taking it to the beach or just sitting and enjoying the open air. It's near a lot of shops so also a great place to grab a bite while shopping. Kalua pork bowl #4: I had a recommendation to get the pork and it didn't disappoint. The pineapple added a nice sweetness and don't forget the barbecue sauce! The pork itself was soft and moist. No dried out pork here! The two scoops of rice were extremely generous and the Mac salad was one of my favorites on the trip. 9/10!

Yum!!!! All of our sandwiches were really good!!! I had one with like pork and pineapple in and and dipped in bbq sauce was so good! The bread was crispy in the outside and lots of meat on the inside. So yum!

My first ever pulled pork on a brat in a bun. OMG... so good. I'm here for over a week, I hope to get a couple more lunches at Porky's. Even though they only have 4 menu items to choose from, I'll try and try them all.

Heard this place ranked in the top 100 Yelp list for a couple years so was excited to try this place. Got the grilled cheese with pork and hot dog with pork. The pork seemed to complement the grilled cheese well and the spicy and sweet sauce was a nice hit. However for the hot dog, it seemed it was just a bunch of toppings on top of the hot dog; they didn't mesh well and it was very messy to eat. Honestly, I'm not sure what the craze was with this place but it did have a nice atmosphere.
