Visited here in Spring 2025 during a work conference and had an absolutely fantastic time. I did the driving experience with an instructor in a 911 Carrera S. We started in the dynamic area to get familiar with the car, and I was immediately blown away by the engineering, rocket-like acceleration, yet it stops and turns on a dime.
Next, we headed to the acceleration straight where we tried launch control a few times (insanely fun), followed by the low-friction circle to explore understeer and oversteer. Then came the kick plate, where the car would suddenly lose traction on a wetted surface and I had to correct the spin. Took a few tries, but I eventually got the hang of it and fixed some steering technique errors.
The best part was the handling circuit. The instructor rode along for the first few laps, teaching me the racing line, then switched to another car and led me while giving real-time feedback over the radio. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and friendly, made me feel completely at ease and even stayed afterward to chat and answer questions.
I also did the GT3 RS demo lap, which was honestly underwhelming. It was very short (about three laps), and I didn’t feel like the driver really pushed the car. Fun, but not exhilarating, something I’d probably skip.
This is an absolute must-do if you’re into driving and in the area (book in advance). It was so good that I rented a Porsche to hit the canyons later in my trip and ended up buying one by the end of the year. Fair warning, this might become a very expensive experience 😬
The experience center itself is excellent, beautiful gallery of Porsches, a great café and restaurant, and I highly recommend the balcony where you can watch cars on the track. The retail store is nice, and the simulator lab looked cool (though I didn’t try it).
One thing to note, you can be financially liable if something goes wrong (I vaguely recall around $13,000), though I was told incidents are rare.
Overall: unforgettable experience and dangerously addictive.
