Port Douglas Peninsula Boutique Hotel

From the greeting at reception until checkout, this was a great stay.|The staff are very friendly, always saying hi, with a smile. |The rooms are good, with lovely sea views over 4 Mile Beach. The room configuration is such that you feel like you are outside when sitting on the couch. |Good kitchenette, although with so many restaurants within easy walking distance, we hardly used it. |Daily servicing was welcome, as were the complimentary breakfasts. The hotel restaurant overlooks the beach and breakfasts are great.|There is a good size pool. |We had 11 nights there this year and have already rebooked.

While the position of the Peninsula Hotel, almost on the beach, is the main attraction, there are a number of other points which make this Hotel a great place to stay. The rooms are airy and bright, with a large balcony giving fantastic views of the surf and beach. The rooms are service daily and there is a lift to take you to your floor. The pool is easily accessible and is heated for the winter months. One of the best features though, is breakfast, which is included. The Hotel has its own restaurant (also handy for lunch or dinner) and a table menu breakfast can be taken on the restaurant deck, again overlooking the beach. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The Peninsula Hotel is certainly one of those places that you go back to after you've discovered it!

The hotel looked a little scruffy , but staff at reception were friendly and efficient. We had an ocean view suite which gave us a fabulous view of the ocean. The suite itself was adequate, the bed comfortable, pillows nice. The bathroom included a large bath, which we didn't use and a walk-in shower. There was mould on surfaces of shower walls. Robes are supplied which is a nice touch. The kitchen area was adequate, but again the splashback and underside of hanging cupboard were quite dirty. It is very easy to just pop over to the beach, which I think would be the main selling point for this hotel. The pool area was nice, with loungers to lie on.

The hotel is extremely well located across the road from the beach and near all shopping, restaurants and cafes. The rooms are a good size and ours had a balcony looking at the beach. There are excellent options for breakfast and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Room cleanliness and maintenance could be improved to ensure the best experience.

We stayed at this hotel last week with our family and had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff kindly arranged rooms next to each other for us, which was very convenient. Though the hotel is old and small, it’s located in a beautiful spot right in front of the beach.Breakfast was included and came in big portions with amazing food. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night, was delicious. The staff were all very friendly, and we want to give special thanks to Shally at the reception.she was extremely helpful and professional. She spoke Italian also, which made us feel even more comfortable during our stay. We had a minor problem with hot water on our second morning, but I informed to her very early, and she took immediate action. It was already fixed by the time we returned from our tour. Overall, the staff and management were wonderful, and this hotel became our favorite place during our Australia tour. Highly recommended!

Great position, lovely staff but it needs a complete makeover. The bathrooms are tired, the toilet was hard to flush, the water didn't always cut off, the taps were corroded. The area around the carpark looked like a recycling dump and the crockery and cutlery that was provided was absolutely minimal. There was little hanging space and what there was, was largely taken up by an ironing board, there were not nearly enough coat hangers and those provided were off the theft proof kind which made them hard to use. One improvement over last year was that shower caps were provided, and the toiletries seemed good quality and were generous.

Very recent stay at this beautiful hotel. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and combined birthday and it was the most memorable and relaxing environment. From ocean views to poolside sunchairs, the amazing staff including the chef and hospitality team surpassed our Melbournian food and coffee expectations! I would book this again in a heartbeat.

Location absolutely perfect.|However, the hotel is in desperate need of proper cleaning & renovation.|Safe didn’t work, no base on fan, blind didn’t have a bottom runner, photo showed a full open balcony but there are only 2 with sea views the rest are not open & much smaller, very misleading! |Needed cleaning, lots of grubby & dirty areas. Room not vacuumed during our 10 day stay. Restaurant staff were very accommodating but they all had conflicting information relating to the menu!

Words from a professional traveler: (1) the daily complementary breakfast is the best I've had at any of the hundreds of resort/hotels I've been to; (2) the complementary WiFi is extremely fast; (3) there was daily maid service but they did nothing. There were multiple dirty towels that stayed on the bathroom floor for days at a time. I had to replenish towels by using pool towels. The room's tiled floors were not swept or mopped during my entire 6 day stay; (4) I booked this hotel because it had a jacuzzi, which was 7°C below average body temp. I asked the office manager to increase the heat, and was told no. What's the purpose of having a jacuzzi if it's not going to be heated? Overall, I deem the property's management to be a failure. I won't be back...

Great place to stay all the way around! Excellent experience beginning to end. The staff was always a please to help, great facilities like a printer and laundry and no cost. Spectacular restaurant with a French chef. Great location on the beach and end of Main Street. Our balcony had views of birds and sunsets. It was great!

What's not to like about this place - nothing! Location - brilliant Rooms - lovely Staff - gorgeous Kylie & Gavin - awesome Oh, & of course the best part - Adults Only - yay Peaceful, quiet, relaxing & rejuvenating- not what everyone looks for in a holiday, but when you are - this is the place & of course you have everything Port Douglas has to offer on your doorstep. Restaurants - but do try theirs HiTide too! Bars, shopping & of course that spectacular beach. This is our absolute go to place, whether it be for a long weekend or a weeks holiday, we just love it.

Best hotel we have ever stayed in! Starting at check-in with hot face towels, a snack and drink. The hotel was amazing, clean and right on the beach. The daily breakfasts are to die for. Minutes walk to shops, restaurants and the port to catch cruises to the Great Barrier Reef. Best location, ambience and staff in Port Douglas!

Wonderfully Australian, delightful owners, perfect location, great food and drink. The entire staff learns your name on your first day. All interested in the activities we did and what we thought of them. More than happy to setup chairs on the beach for us. We were here during a windy stretch, but listening to the ocean and wind at night really made this place a 5 Star.

Fabulous boutique hotel in port Douglas! Accommodations were superbly comfortable, great ocean view! Has incredible location, an Easy (30 second) walk to beach and several minute walk to the heart of town. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, engaging, and welcoming! They remember you and made sure to continually check up on the experience and events of your trip. Would highly highly recommend staying here.
