"Dogs aren’t just welcome at this laidback outdoor bar, they’re highly encouraged to come and stay for a while. Behind Woodward Avenue Brewers, Port serves up $2 mystery shots, cold beers, frozen piña coladas and mules, and more." - Monica Williams

Great patio attached to the back of WAB. The patio is nice and open, but a little smaller. The bartender was very friendly, and my drink was tasty. I enjoyed that ordering food from WAB was very convenient, and they delivered it directly to our table.

Think this is some how part of the wab. Eh either way this bar is only good during the warmer months. Well unless they get heated bar stools! So yes this location is in fact out doors. Definitely like the feel of it, when you walk up you kind of catch yourself. Because it has a slight beach feel. The bartender was a very nice guy and the drink selection was good.

Great place fast service and friendly bartenders. Easy going and relaxing to hang out at. My first choice when going out for drinks in ferndale.

Great new patio bar in Ferndale attached to the back of the WAB. They've got a mostly rum-based cocktail menu and they serve WAB beer too. The food menu is Mediterranean skewers and sides. Only seasonally open.

The vibe was good. It was great sitting outside sipping on the beverage.

I live in the neighborhood, like the bar however this outdoor bar could reinvent itself as a beachside surf bar, serve tropical cocktails and beer, paint everything baby blue with surf boards and coconuts and actually use the rooftop. But the WAB chooses to be a boring monopoly instead.

Nice outdoor bar in downtown Ferndale! Good cocktails including frozen options and friendly staff, plus dog friendly! Only downside is it's a smaller space so sometimes hard to grab a table.

Cool little outside drinking area. Our rum drink was really good, and the barista guy was super nice, but it was ridiculously overpriced. We won't return due to that. (Paid almost $40 for 2 drinks..)

Yelp
Super honest review- saw this place on an ad on Instagram and me and my boyfriend decided to give it a go. While the drinks might sit on the pricier side, they are all doubles so you're definitely getting your money's worth. The drinks are strong but delicious, and the staff is incredibly fun and friendly. This is a perfect bar for summer time and when the weather is nice, and we will keep coming back for the vibes and good drinks. 10/10 recommend! (Trust me, get the bad friends lemonade or piña colada, they were both delicious and great summer drink options)

Yelp
Open during the summer. Some frozen drinks and other cocktails available with a wide outdoor seating area. Service prompt and friendly. Off the street so not too loud. Nice spot to hang out on a not so hot night.

Yelp
Cute little patio behind the WAB. I had not been to either but I ended up parking in the parking lot behind Port, because I couldn't find parking near where we had dinner that same night. Drinks are around $10 each and I had the strawberry banana daiquiri. I originally was going to get a pina colada and a friend got that, it actually looked a little better than my drink although my drink was tasty as well. They have a limited food menu including sandwiches and tacos, a friend wanted some churros from the main WAB menu but had to go inside to get it. Another friend and I wanted to split the chips with pesto dip, which sounded amazing, but unfortunately they were out of them. They also have Jenga and other fun games. Overall I really liked the outdoor space so I would come here again. Bathrooms are inside WAB but a very short walk away.

Yelp
Just off busy Woodward in Ferndale. Very close pay public lots, but parking right now is stressed due to city construction projects. This is a tiki drink bar placed in a shipping container wedged on the patio behind the WAB brewery. The staff was fine, the drinks were a little pricey. Some of them were really good. They had giant jenga. The other customers were okay. It is tiki without the decorations.

Yelp
Favorite place for drinks in Ferndale during the summer time! The bartenders are amazing, the sunshine hits in the right spots and the drinks are great. I order one margarita and I'm set for quite some time. Only set back is crossing the street to use the Emory bathroom, but that's not too big of a deal. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Fun, local tiki bar with bomb drinks. Head to the back of the WAB and you'll find cute little tables and games!

Yelp
This place has great potential but the bartender was very rude when I went and the pina colada machine wasn't ready when they opened. Hours are odd and they opened 30 minutes after it said on their sign. I was so excited to visit port for my birthday but left as soon as I finished my drink.

Yelp
Port Ferndale is a must stop destination for summer. Frosty frozen drinks on a breezy outdoor patio...need I say more! Love this adorable tiki summer pop-up bar on WAB's back porch. Hanging lights, tiki decorations, beachy summer music, piña coladas, and Jenga set the stage for a great hangout on a perfect summer night. It reminds me of Detroit's Cadillac Summer Beer Garden. Love the chill laid back atmosphere and beachy tiki vibe. I came to Port with a large group of friends for my birthday after dinner at Bobcat Bonnie's. They don't seem to take reservations at Port because I called to secure a table for our large group of 15 and they told me to e-mail a manager but I never heard back. It was a Friday night and they were pretty busy but we snagged a booth to sit at, for our large group. There are several high tops you can stand at and a large wrap-around booth that spans the outer edge of the patio to sit at which is covered in case it's raining. They're wheelchair accessible with a ramp from the back parking lot. Lots of people bring their doggos so you can spot some adorable pooches while you're sipping on your cocktails. Most drinks are around $10 and they offer a frozen strawberry banana daiquiri, piña coladas, frozen and regular margaritas and a frozen gin and tonic. They also offer a painkiller, mojito, zombie, Long Island, mule and more. They also offer beer and wine. Food is limited and WAB's full menu is not offered at Port. They offer their own menu with a few sandwiches, tacos, and chips and pesto or salsa. Sandwiches are $11-$12 while tacos are $9-$10. They had a piña colada on special made with Hamilton dark rum for $8, which is what I got and I really liked it. Friends got the strawberry banana daiquiri, painkiller, mojito and beers and everyone really liked their drinks. One of my friends went inside WAB and got a carry-out order of churros and brought them back to Port to enjoy with his drink. We all had a great time chatting, sipping delicious frosty drinks and enjoying the perfect weather on the patio. I definitely can't wait to return to Port the next time I'm in Ferndale.

Yelp
In case you've passed by the WAB and wondered what they were going to do with that great patio space behind the bar...here's your answer. I've been here a few times now and I'm still on the fence. The one thing that this place has going for it is that it has Tiki drinks on a patio bar. Honi Honi seems to be no more so this is the only Tiki game in town. Word has it that Port was put in play to take Honi's place. I think they took that idea and ran with it. On the plus side their drinks are pretty good. They're all pretty heavy on the citrus but I haven't had anything here yet that I haven't liked. The Avocado Margarita is a must and the Port Authority is nothing to trifle with, but all the drinks are pretty heavy duty and they all come with the option of a 151 float. The food on the other hand....I originally found out about this place on Eater or some such site. They touted "Yakitori"...which sounded fantastic. Japanese BBQ'ed meats...yes please. When we actually came to eat, we found out that it was more like plain skewered meat. We did try all of them sans the tofu but weren't blown away. It took a while before the food came out and overall it was pretty standard flavors = meat, grilled. The sauces on the table were nondescript and didn't add much to the skewers. They did have a couple interesting sides. We didn't try the rice but it looked good. The spicy cucumber salad is really fresh, and actually, pretty spicy...be warned. The "bread" that accompanies the skewers...it was referred to as naan by our server. The menu calls it Crispelli's flatbread, but after trying it, it was more like a Birkenstock. Honestly, I couldn't have torn it if I tried. I could've laced some leather through it and made it into footwear it was so tough. Another patron at the bar seemed to have the same experience. Overall, the space is great for drinks on a patio. The drinks are great and if you're looking for something with rum or tequila and citrus in it then this will hit the mark. The food, well, I came, I saw, I tried it and I'm good.

Yelp
So, normally I'd rate this place pretty high. Cool atmosphere to hang out in. Always good people watching with the jumbo Jenga set. Last night was another story though. I get it- it's the Dream Cruise- it's busy.... everywhere but here, which is why we chose the Port to grab something to drink and chill out. Normally there's two guys behind the bar. We always pull up a table and one will come over to serve us instead of us having to reach over and speak over the backs of patrons at the bar. Well. The two girls behind the bar last night were way more interested with whatever was on their phones tonight to serve us, but of course leaving the bar to drag a towel across a table was ok. If a place wants to hire girls that are cute as staff, whatever, just make sure they actually care about the customers as much as their Instagram. We shouldn't have to sit for 15-20 minutes without service when they are feet away. That's unacceptable.

Yelp
Cute little tiki patio with giant jenga and fruity drinks! Patio galore in the summer- pup friendly, long bench tables for brunchin groups, high top tables for two for date day drinkers. Great, friendly and fast service from Piper! Drinks were a tad on the pricey end about $10 compared to your average $7-8 but none the less were fantastic and worth the price and you can't go wrong with Margarita Monday margs are $7. Overall atmosphere and drinks were a 5 star only disappointment was no food! However, you can bring takeout in which is a plus!

Yelp
We wanted to give this place a try as the menu looks awesome. But we live 30 minutes away so called first to ensure they were going to be open. At first they said yes, they would be open at 5pm today but without a bartender. Then she immediately said, oh nevermind, there WILL be a bartender here. We showed up at 6pm and the bar was closed, doors were locked. Total disappointment!

Yelp
Overall I always enjoy my time at Port. I love the semi tiki atmosphere, the rum based cocktails, and the bar staff. They only get four stars from me because seating is limited on busier nights (which cannot be helped at times) and they do not have vegetarian entrée options. Food: I haven't tried there food yet because all entrees are sausage based. As a mostly non-meat eater this hinders things for me. However, they have non meat sides such as slaw, potato salads, and corn on the cob. None of which would be a meal for me so I stick with drinks. Drinks: I enjoyed the Painkiller today. Which like most of their drinks is it a citrus rum cocktail, this one had pineapple and coconut and was their five dollar special. They have good specials and a happy hour they also offer beers from the wab. So they have plenty of options for beer and mixed drinks lovers. Seating. Today after my work parentheses around five parentheses I was able to get a seat at the bar no problem. There are someTimes I have wanted to go there has been no seating that is usually weekend nights that are very nice out. Staff: all the staff I have encountered have been extremely friendly and talkative if you want them to be. If you are there with a friend or not really looking for a conversation they are attentive but not annoying. Just like the staff at the wab or the lovey get touch because they are usually the same staff. As a girl that likes conversations with her local bartenders it is nice to see familiar faces but in a different location. All of this this always keeps me wanting to come back for a yummy cocktails, plenty of sunshine and good conversations

Yelp
The Port is one of Ferndale's best-kept secrets for laid back cocktail hour. The drinks are strong (and CHEAP), but the atmosphere is super chill... it reminds me of my favorite tropical vacation tiki bar.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere. Love tiki bars, but the rest is mediocre at best. We sat at the bar with 3 bartenders and they took quite a long time to acknowledge us as they were in a separate conversation. Once one came to us, he was very nice. We had 2 orders of the pork belly tacos and they could not have been more dry. Definitely not worth the price. At the end of the day, I don't feel the 2 cocktails and 2 taco orders were worth the $40 when there are better places in Ferndale, which is disappointing because they have a lot of potential with the tiki theme.
