West Hollywood Lazer Kat Club Flips to Sports Bar After Six Months | Eater LA

"Porta Via, the Beverly Hills classic, is expanding into the new Palisades Village after nearly 25 years; I see incoming restaurants racing to open and the spot should be officially open by the end of the month with new all-day menus." - Farley Elliott

We just ordered from here using Door Dash. My husband ordered chicken pallaird. . It said pick two sides. He ordered pasta and mashed potatoes. I ordered a salad with extra avocado that I paid for. My husband’s chicken came with french fries. I called the restaurant. She said, oh, we don’t have those sides. They were on their DoorDash menu. My husband would not have ordered that. He did not want a bunch of french fries. I don’t get it! Don’t put it on your menu if you’re going to decide what we want to eat. I like this restaurant. The food is always good. I’ve given showers here. But this is laughable!

Google
We had a business event here, and this location is lovely! Our party was ~20 total and fit comfortably. The staff was very attentive, and the atmosphere was very classy, bright, and nice. Only deducted a star because the food served on the platters wasn't bad, but also wasn't great.

Porta Via feels like a safe haven in an otherwise crazy Beverly Hills scene. Even PV isn’t entirely spared — the dining room can still be peppered with those loud, self-important types who confuse arrogance for sophistication. but the soul of the restaurant — its food, its people, its care — effortlessly outshines them. the food is consistently fresh and thoughtful — I highly recommend their salads, soups, and salmon. soups are often overlooked on menus, but here they’re quietly some of the best: from a beautiful carrot-ginger to earthy mushroom, and today even matzo ball to observe the holiday. each one is crafted with care and balance. what makes Porta Via stand out even more is the hospitality. the Latino Staff truly makes the place — they add a warmth that comes through in their impeccable hospitality and attention to detail. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his son, both of whom were warm and welcoming. the owner himself wasn’t above rolling up his sleeves and clearing tables — a rare humility in a city that often prioritizes appearances over substance. in a neighborhood where flash often overshadows substance, Porta Via is a refreshing reminder of what real dining should feel like: quality food, genuine people, and a sense of being cared for. a true sanctuary I’d recommend wholeheartedly.

I had THE best brunch here. Such a little hidden gem with lots of character. The interior is unique and the wine selection is top tier. What I like most is the option to sit outside to enjoy the day. I will absolutely be back!

Porta Via reminds me of a lot of places in Beverly Hills that have luxury prices, but once you look under the veneer the experience is below average. When you first approach Porta Via, it looks like a wonderful place to grab a bite in the hustle and bustle of Beverly Hills. Every outside table is full and people are laughing and enjoying their company. Unfortunately, my party sat inside where the establishment's age was showing. Many of the leather bench seats inside the restaurant were coming a part. Looking around at some of the other decor elements and it seems like the place needs a little TLC. The brunch menu is pretty straight forward American fare. Some of the dishes sound fancy but when you really think about it you can get them anywhere. I ordered pancakes, bacon, and eggs while my partner ordered an eggs benedict. Nothing was wrong with my food. It tasted decent enough, however for the price the pancakes where woefully undersized. My partner didn't fare as well as her eggs weren't poached properly. Throw in an unattentive waiter and this was a truly forgettable eating experience.

Google
Mushy black cod. This is my second time as I'm a local. No issues the first time. Why I'm giving 2 stars. Otherwise a minus 1. We did get seated and our drinks pretty quickly. Then they totally ignored us on ordering our food. We tried to get their attention. They looked at us and moved on. At least a half hour. Finally they took our order. The black cod was mushy. Had no taste. This is the type of fish when overcooked gets mushy. I ate it anyway. After waiting so long to order and with 2 other girls, I wasn't going to return and reorder. When paying good money, neither of this should happen. So for service a minus 1 if possible and food a 1.

Google
A perfect staple to enjoy an afternoon or evening! Easy to park and roll on over to an entire new world. I feel like I’m back in Europe- the patrons are all smiling and enjoying their meals without being rushed out. The food is fabulous- Will never disappoint!

Google
Nice atmosphere and service was great but I've been twice and the food was so bad I don't understand its popularity. Last time, I got the lentil soup and chicken paillard. The soup was a few spoonfuls in a shallow bowl of bland, creamy puree. The chicken paillard was just terrible - it was a few veggies, probably from a frozen Costco bag and bland chicken that was not flattened (as a paillard is supposed to be) and tasted like it had been microwaved. I felt taken advantage of and hate to share bad reviews but I just don't get it.

Yelp
Porta Via is a lovely-looking restaurant in the heart of the Beverly Hills shopping district. It has a very comfortable vibe, boasts white table cloths, a very well-stocked bar, and a professional staff that's friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. By all outward trappings this is where you should be having a terrific meal. But, oh boy, Porta Via is also the epitome of a California Cuisine restaurant with a menu so dull, and so blandly executed, that you can't help but feel disappointed. A bunch of pasta choices, all without any protein; an array of salads, including Cobb and the ubiquitous "Italian chopped," borrowed from La Scala next door and, no doubt, just as disappointingly not really an antipasto. The entree choices were so meh that I ordered 2 starters: the Caesar Salad (very basic) and a special of Meatballs with Ricotta. The meatballs were indeed tasty, with a rich sauce and ricotta that had a nice sharpness. Being a special, I'm going to assume it got a bit more attention than the regular menu items. My wife ordered a salmon dish that tasted like 7000 salmon dishes you've had across your lifetime. In no way worth the $42 price tag. Cocktails were well-made and expertly delivered, and were in line with local prices. So, if the location works for you and it's more about ambience than what you're eating, then go ahead and drop in. Especially at lunchtime, when the bar for what you're having may be lower. But from a food perspective, there are plenty of other places that'll serve you a much better meal.

Yelp
Oh, Porta Via! What can I honestly say???? You've become this wonderful foodie institution, and having a beautifully decorated and well-run establishment that has become an outstanding place for decades, now! I thoroughly recommend the Quiche with side salad, and their bacon. I LOVE and have tried various dishes from Porta Via, over the years. I haven't had any issues with them, in my opinion. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, every single time. Their extensive menu truly delivers and caters to you and to all your cravings. The portions are perfect sized. This is also a place to be seen. Overall, good service and great food. And of course, I'll return and make more fabulous memories here. Highly appreciated and recommended! Cheers and Enjoy!!!!

Yelp
Typical Beverly Hills eatery with good customer service, small portions and average quality food with above average prices. Good spot for occasional lunch.

Yelp
I came here for lunch after the snobs at La Scala didn't make me feel comfortable and I'm so glad I did! Very welcoming atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly. I got seated right away in a nice cozy booth. Beautiful atmosphere beautiful restaurant. I started with a lovely glass of the red. Nebbiolo. Light and dry, it was perfection. Then I ordered the chopped Tuscan salad, which was nice and chilled with wonderful sized chunks of ingredients in it, and the dressing was outstanding. Then I had the parmigiano crusted Alaskan halibut with asparagus and beurre Blanc sauce, and it was just divine! The sauce could've been a little thicker. It was on the thin side, but still very tasty. Then I had to try the smoke show cocktail, which was excellent. Nice garnish of grapefruit and rosemary. Wonderful experience. Rudy took good care of me!

Yelp
Came here for a work lunch. Was told that with a reservation you don't have to wait long but the day we were there we were waiting for 15 minutes or so. They may have been overstuffed that day I'm assuming. My chicken was absolutely tasty. Would definitely recommend this place just be prepared to maybe wait a hot second even with a reservation. There is a parking lot across the street that provides two hours for free.

Yelp
I always love this restaurant. Beautiful outdoor dining on Canon. Great menu. The beet/quinoa salad is brilliant. The pastas are amazing. It is not inexpensive...you'll spend $75 for appetizer and dinner and a glass of wine. Great ambiance. Great people watching.

Yelp
We had friends from out of town staying in Beverly Hills, so we needed to find a convenient restaurant to fit their dietary needs. Porta Via was great. It offers a variety of food to fit any diet. I had the skirt steak. It was cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. It was accompanied by cooked vegetables and fries. All were delicious. Other people in our party had pasta, filet mignon, fish, and Cobb salad. Everyone was satisfied. The restaurant seemed to be a bit understaffed, but the staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Indoor and outdoor seating is offered. We chose indoor, which was comfortable and not crowded.
google avatar

Audrey S.

Yelp
First time at Porta Via and was pleasantly surprised at the portion of food. My friend had some adjustments to their means due to dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate with no problem. Would be interested in coming again when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best salads I've ever eaten! I had the chopped beet salad and added salmon, which was cooked perfectly. The servers were attentive and very friendly.

Yelp
Visited Porta Via last Wednesday with my team of 6 and had such a smooth, enjoyable experience. Our waiter was super friendly and welcoming, the kind of energy that instantly sets the tone for a great night. I had the Branzino and it was absolutely delicious. The rest of my team loved their meals as well. The entire staff was lovely and the service was top-tier. Perfect spot for a classy, no-stress work lunch in Beverly Hills!

Yelp
Tasty bloody Mary's. Good for salads and sandwiches. The French fries are extra delicious. Can't go wrong with any menu item

Rachel M.

Yelp
Solid quality Branzino 8/10 solid Tuna sandwich 8/10 Sweet potato fries were not super crunchy and a little soggy Overall quality is good I liked it here

Yelp
It is in amazing place to have a nice girly dinner with your friends! I love the Vodka Sauce pasta and I highly recommend it. I also LOVED the chocolate cake! Ambiance is so elegant. I love the red wine. So happy with my experience!!

Yelp
We love Porta Via!! My parents and I can't get enough. It's easily our favorite restaurant in LA. Food is delish and service is great! Friendly, fast and attentive without being overbearing. Cant wait to come back soon.
google avatar

Sharifa B.

Yelp
Had a lunch date here a few weeks ago. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and the tables are really close, I think I would have enjoyed the patio more. The service was helpful and inviting. The wine program was great. We tried a lovely Cabernet and the seafood pasta was my favorite dish.
google avatar

Wil J.

Yelp
The food was great. Very delicious and plentiful except for the fried calamari. It was basically burnt. Great atmosphere. The service was a bit slow and unattentive

Michele O.

Yelp
Mediocre food with big price. The salmon was undercooked and fatty. Zuccini noodles were not more than thin pieces of zuccini (misleading) The butternut squash soup was dilluted and tasteless. Service was good and friendly Don't waste your money here. Much better and cheaper Italian restaurants in town,
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
For the BH area, I find Porta Via to be consistent and great quality ! I love their chopped salad. It's a generous portion for the price. Ambiance is nice and open (indoor or outdoor). Service is fine too. A lot of pretentious restaurants in the area but I find Porta Via to be accepting and laid back.

jacob Z.

Yelp
We were a party of six and went to Porto Via last night. The food was delicious--everything was fresh and full of flavor. Our waiter and the entire staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and helpful, making the whole evening even more enjoyable. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Had dinner here tonight with three dear friends. A total of 7 in our party. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers and their main courses! Calamari was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The burrata was delicious! Fresh mozzarella and sweet tomatoes yum. Everyone loved their selection. I had the short rib pappardelli pasta. Very delicious! Lots of short rib covering fresh pasta noodles. This was super yummy! Great restaurant and we will be back!
google avatar

Dawn R.

Yelp
I love coming to eat here for lunch especially being seated on the outside patio. The Salmon Caesar salad was delicious and my waiter was kind and accommodating. I love this place
google avatar

Ben B.

Yelp
Horrible food, horrible service! Don't waste your time and money. Only good thing about this restaurant is its location
google avatar

Mary V.

Yelp
Joaquin was the best server. So accommodating and attentive to our table. We had an order that never came to the table and he completely acknowledged the issue apologizing and made up for it. I will continue to recommend this spot because not only is the food good but the service is above and beyond.
google avatar

Melissa E.

Yelp
Honestly giving it 3 starts because the owner is a sweetheart and we've been coming here for years- but want to somehow communicate that there is a lot of new staff and seems like protocol for seating has changed and is a nightmare. This is the 3rd time where we've come and waited to be seated for 30 minutes (and counting) while we watch tables that are fully open and available for merging sit empty. The hostesses claim they are "unable" to merge them but then we watch as other walk ins come in and get seated. They are pompous and entitled with their communication as well- think bouncer at the club in the early 2000's power trip. Sad to say i was always here at least 2x a week and will not have to give it a rest for a while.
google avatar

Yelp
great location. nice atmosphere. just okay food at least for breakfast. mediocre service. upcharge for the seven sweet potato soggy fries. took half an hour to get our first cups of coffee for the life of us we had to ask the manager to make sure we got a refill. items we ordered never showed up. if they were really busy or semi busy i understand however we were one of 4 tables seated. No excuse. If the food was out of this world it would worth the service but that is not the case. find a better spot and really enjoy your brunch in beverly hills.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Wonderful! Our server Rodolfo was probably the nicest person in all of LA. Really appreciated the pleasant experience and wonderful breakfast!

Yelp
We walked in on Christmas Eve after dinner in Beverly Hills since it was still open. We asked the manager and he said we will stay open until the last guest stops consuming. We were a group of 4 and ordered multiple drinks. The bartender was so rude and aggressive, he probably wanted to go home but that's not our problem. He was screaming, throwing a towel and just obnoxious! Then he presented the bill and didn't even wanna divide it! This guy should be fired. I'll post about it on social media! Will not return after this experience! He knew how terrible he was cause he didn't even ask for tip and gave us the bill without signature. I wouldn't have tipped a dime! Unacceptable! He def had mental and anger issues.
google avatar

Vlada K.

Yelp
The place only has customers who don't want to wait in line for the restaurant next to it. The food is below average and the customer service is non existent. Our waiter disappeared on us for 15 minutes before taking order, we had to complain, he then came and asked if we now are ready to order as if it was our fault. He then kept pushing for us to order the wine and ignored guest requests during the serving. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite go to restaurant. Always a table available, friendly staff, and the best food you could want. I've been going to this restaurant for years and never been disappointed. The owner is very friendly and always makes you feel at home. There is one particular dish that I go for specifically and that is skirt steak. They make this dish exactly the way my grandmother used to make it. It gives me the most wonderful feeling every time I have it. As does the restaurant. It gives me a wonderful feeling. Thank you, Peter .

Yelp
Nice location I planned this Sunday brunch week ago As for outdoor without direct sun ..... today party ass Sunday brunch with Barbie in Beverly Hills....... Fried calamari..... deep fried with a dirty oil and overcook the truth turn all black After we rejected 15 minutes, come with original play (that's horrible) The waiter didn't pay attention ..... take our main course order 20 minutes later After the lunch Take another 25 minutes to order our coffee and dessert (order was completely wrong delivery twice) that experience Ruined our Sunday brunch with Barbie experience ...... horrible NoGO no way 炸魷魚......

Yelp
There are some things to work on here. This used to be my neighborhood go to when I lived in BH years ago but my experience last night was so disappointing. The staff that used to be so warm and friendly were surly, bothered and harried (one of them actually rolled her eyes at me when I dared ask them to remove an erroneous charge from our bill and return the check to us quickly...full eye roll in my face). Not all of our order came out as ordered, they tried to drop someone else's order at our table (which we were ultimately charged for) and it took us forever to get our check. The food was really just ok and on top of all of it, they added a tip (for a table of three) and because it took us almost 30 minutes to receive then straighten out the bill, we didn't want to ask for any other adjustments. Really disappointing.

Yelp
Fairly typical blend of Italian faire with anticipated Beverly Hills prices.Wonderful soups, salads and pastas.Solicitous and fast service Two hr public parking across the street
google avatar

Talia A.

Yelp
Restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills with outdoor seating, descent food and great service. There's a parking structure right across the street which was convenient. Food could've been better but the Burrata and tomatoes were excellent and fries were thin and crispy. Steak was a bit overcooked but ok. Loved the atmosphere outside! The decor inside wasn't to my taste, kinda eclectic and dark, strange mirrors everywhere but the outdoor area was fabulous.

Marie B.

Yelp
Well I will begin with my great disappointment in our meals. We were excited to visit this very nice restaurant. I can not express what a mistake with all the amazing restaurants in Beverly Hills! The two meals were over cooked and the third was awful! There is a proper way to cook meat and unfortunately this was not done correctly. We sent one meal back but did not want to send all three. I could go on and on but no words will make up for the night. I spoke to the manager and I just do not think he felt my unhappiness. I do not recommend this establishment and will never return.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
I am just knocking it down a star not because it's all of a sudden bad, but because when we started getting the Salmon at La Scala next door, the Salmon at Porta Via was not as impressive. Plus Porta Via kind of over salts the Salmon--a few times it was like eating salt with some salmon added. But again--it's not bad here--and Porta Via has other dishes. May not be fair to compare these two popular BH restaurants because La Scala is more expensive also--they are using a higher quality salmon. That's all I am going to say.
google avatar

Yelp
Tony knows hot make you hot! Come here to get the best shots in town. The filet mignon was amazing. Pancho was amazing. Everything was amazing
google avatar

Aijha R.

Yelp
My happy Place. Literally the BEST salmon, sautéed spinach, and french fries in the world. The service is always top notch (obviously depending on the lunch or dinner rush) and the espresso martinis are to die for. The strawberry banana smoothies are also great (I get a shot of tequila to spice up the day). I come here to make a bad day good. Love you guys!
google avatar

Yelp
Wanted to love this place, but the service on a Saturday afternoon was awful. It was not clear who our server was and it took forever to get our check, order drinks, and order food Food: California American. Impossible burger $22 was good and came with a side of fries Drinks: Beverly spritz $15 so good and refreshing

Brandon C.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience staff was very nice this was a Farley priced restaurant and very classy I do recomend

Yelp
The food is excellent. The service is friendly and incomparable. The prices are reasonable. Will always be a place of choice. Great ambiance.

Yelp
Called 45 minutes in advance and was able to get a reservation. Decided to go here because it is pet friendly and we were traveling so we had our cat. The food was pretty good. The server was not very attentive - seemed to pay attention to the tables who would be having bigger bills (lots of wine/drinks/appetizers at those tables). Really cute location and outdoor seating. Be aware if you want the heater on, your umbrella must be put down.
google avatar

Sandra P.

Yelp
A few yes's but so many no's = no thanks, never again. Hostesses- fairly incompetent, can't give you a wait time, seat parties ahead of those that were waiting. FAIL. Ok so finally sat and the tables on either side felt the need to tell us that they had been there for over a half hour and hadn't ordered. Strange, ok. And then we waited. Finally, the lady at the table next to us lost her mind and got a manger and we all got service.....sort of. Wine- check, coffee- took multiple requests and trying to get almond milk, don't ask. The wine came out quickly- thank god. No bread, had to ask. Finally food- basic Italian chopped salad basic, asked for no cheese, had cheese on it, couldn't eat it. Crab and lobster bucatini was the saving grace to our meal, it was superb. Simple- garlic, tomatoes, shellfish, pasta, yum! All in all- no, hard no. Underwhelming and annoying stressful lunch experience.

Yelp
We came to Porta Via after having a terrible experience at Wally's across the street. Wally's wouldn't let us order drinks only, so we left. We were able to be seated promptly at Porta Via, and sit outside in the sun. While we only ordered a bottle of wine, our service was lovely and quick. I would go back here again for drinks and try the food next time too!

Yelp
Porta Villa Beverly Hills in Canon Drive aka, Beverly Hills restaurant row. It's across the street from my yoga studio Alo, and it's conveniently steps away from many other restaurants I frequent. Really like that it is open early for all meals: breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. As a 90210 resident for over 2 decades, and it was my first time dining here 8 months ago, as I usually dine at IL Pastaio, but it's close and opens later. During our walk from Montage Hotel up towards Beverly Gardens park, I will credit Fendi for dragging me in. This restaurant is dog friendly :) There restaurant has outdoor covered patio seating and it had the its raincoat cover in prep for the rain. We were cordially greeted by Mark, who was also our waiter. Mark was knowledgeable about the menu, professional, promptly attentive and accommodating. The server Miguel was equally professional, very nice and attentive. The brunch menu included various egg dishes and light, healthy options: various delicious salads, pastas, steak, seafood and a full bar menu. I was really tempted to order a bloody vodka drink but instead got an iced tea. The kitchen will accommodate requests to modify menu items, I'm famous for altering the dish with substitutions, thereby nearly creating a new and improved dish :) I've modified various salads and have posted pics. Not big on snotty or yolk runny eggs, so I ordered my egg yolks well done when I ordered the irresistible smoked salmon Benedict with a side of spring greens salad. This order seemed too much for me to eat and was perfect to share with my yoga pal who eats anything without consequence. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and steamed spinach topped with Hollandaise sauce was delish. The side salad was nice and light, which I ordered in lieu of the English muffins. When I asked for hot sauce, Tabasco and Cholula were available, Cholula won my vote. My friend who prefer a runny yolk liked my version of a well done yolk and enjoyed it with the side order of crispy bacon...Fendi got a few pieces of bacon :) The restaurant was crowded inside and outside. Multiple baby strollers, kids and dogs...family friendly and diners of all ages here. I would consider returning here but prefer to sit away from tables with a crying baby in a stroller, or a group of drunk loud gossipy ladies who brunch. The atmosphere here is more casual than at iL Pastaio, where the fashion conscious, imported high end sports car owners and exhibitionists dine, self included. You can valet park at the corner of Brighton and Canon, find metered spot or park at the 2 hrs free city lot across the street. We walked here, lucky us. The staff here were very courteous and asked me to return later for dinner, which I would gladly consider, because the food here is delicious and the service is excellent. Recommend!

Yelp
A beautifully appointed restaurant. Outdoor seating area. Attentive service. I found this place whilst window shopping. Betwixt lunch and dinner, looking for a light meal. Gazpacho satisfied my hunger;a tasty, blended medley of vegetables. The accompanying bread basket is as unique as they come!

Yelp
We found our way here before a show at the Wallis, we arrived at 6:15pm and got in without a reservation. We were seated outside on the patio which was idyllic on a pleasant November evening. Even if it gets cold, not to worry they have heat lamps. Our server was on point, very attentive to our needs. I enjoyed our little nook in the corner on the patio, good people watching and isolated privacy at the same time. The food was ALL really good. My wife LOVED her Butternut Squash Ravioli, which I was able to try, but only one bite, A+ grade. I also enjoyed my Rigatoni Bolognas, A+ grade. We kicked the meal off with the bread, which was really fresh, I do like flat bread and theirs was tasty. Plus, we had the tomato burrata which was also perfection, A+. Maybe this review should be 5 stars? The inside motif is cool, very Bev Hills. I also got a chance to use the bathroom which was clean and nicely put together, the hallmark of a restaurant that truly cares. I think I need to go again to move this review to 5 stars. We had a nice night out, my thanks to the staff.
