12 Refreshingly Family-Friendly Restaurants in Seattle

"Portage Bay’s five locations all have breakfast bars, where kids (and adults, naturally) can bury their pancakes, waffles, or French toast in a dazzling array of seasonal fruit, nuts, and whipped cream. The cafes also offer kids’ menus, gluten-free options, and lots of local ingredients. It’s going to be crowded on weekends in particular, so you might consider making reservations." - Eater Staff, Meg van Huygen, Harry Cheadle

Great place for breakfast and brunch! They have a large breakfast menu with monthly specials. Their portions are great and you get access to the fruit bar if you get pancakes or french toasts. They have fresh berries of every kind but the pears and peaches are canned, not so fun! Really good quality food. The coffee is average but the food makes up for it. They have a massive weekend rush so if you’re going as a group, be prepared to wait! Our waitress was super sweet, very capable and a delight to chat with!

I love going to Portage Bay SLU for brunch with my husband! It’s one of our favorite spots. The location is great and the vibe is always nice. I always order the burrito — it’s my absolute favorite! Consistently delicious and satisfying. Highly recommend!

Blue Nile

Google
Excellent brunch restaurant. Food is fresh, organic and locally sourced. Service is very good and friendly. If you order pancakes, you will be able to add unlimited toppings of fruits and nuts to your pancakes from the toppings bar.

I was staying in a hotel nearby, and decided to have breakfast at Portage Bay on a Saturday morning. It was around 9:30 when I got there, and it was fairly busy. Fortunately, since I was by myself, I was able to sit at the bar area and didn't have to wait. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, a side of bacon, and a poached egg. It was all excellent!! The raspberry sauce and the fresh whipped cream on the pancakes were heavenly. The bacon and egg were well-cooked and delicious as well. The menu mentioned a fresh fruit bar that I could've gone to with my pancakes, but I didn't really need any more food, haha. I would definitely come back here for breakfast if I came to town again!

Google
So, so good! We would go there every day if we lived close! I'm celiac and my sister is gluten free and dairy free and it was so great to have a server (shout out to Regan!) who was knowledgeable about cross contamination and a huge selection of the menu to choose from!

Google
Nice brunch place with good ambience, not too much noise and can hear each other talk. Lots of options for dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free). I got the GF pumpkin pancakes and they're pretty good, but really heavy. You get one trip to the fruit bar which is nice, but they charge a whopping $9 if you share any of it with others. I wasn't able to finish the pancakes in one sitting (I ate about half) but good if you have a big appetite.

Portage Bay Cafe in South Lake Union is a gem for breakfast and brunch lovers! The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, with a trendy yet casual vibe. Their commitment to organic and locally sourced ingredients truly shines through in every dish. The Bananas Foster French Toast and berry toppings bar are absolute must-tries—fresh, delicious, and incredibly satisfying. The portions are generous, and the service is consistently friendly and efficient. Whether you’re dining solo or with family, this spot caters to everyone, including vegan and gluten-free options. Outdoor seating is pet-friendly, making it a great choice for dog owners. Yes, there’s often a wait, but the food is worth it! Highly recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting on weekends. A fantastic place to start your day in Seattle! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The Rancher’s Breakfast is always my go to and I would definitely recommend it! The pancakes are really great, especially the lemon ricotta onesI don’t like the coffee so much, I think it’s definitely something they can improve.

Yelp
Very hyped up but for good reason. Great brunch all around - just expect to wait for it. Would recommend the eggs Benedict and French toast. Only issue, Always a bit crowded and slow.

Yelp
We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at a popular brunch spot and we were seated earlier than our reservation, which was great! Our server, Reagan, was very personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. We ordered a pitcher of mimosa, which wasn't extraordinary, but still enjoyed. For food, we went with the highly-rated Banana Foster French Toast and Joe's Scramble and WOW-- it exceeded our expectations! The banana foster includes access to the fruit bar with fresh, delicious fruits. The French toast was light, fluffy and pairs well with the fruits and caramelized bananas. We can easily go back just for the French toast alone! Joe's Scramble was equally impressive, packed with spinach, mushrooms, and Beecher's cheese. If you're a mushroom lover, this scramble has an assortment of mushrooms, adding an extra depth of flavor. We shared both dishes, and their contrasting flavors complimented each other beautifully. This spot is definitely worth revisiting!

Yelp
Came here for breakfast/brunch on a Tuesday. The restaurant wasn't super busy, but definitely still lively. I have to say I was a little let down by the food. My boyfriend and I both ordered the rancher's breakfast. The main plate came out a while before our pancakes made it out, and the timing just felt a bit awkward. I definitely would've preferred everything to come out together. He ordered his eggs over easy and I felt that they were too loose/runny even for over easy eggs. The potatoes on my dish were hard and tough to eat, like they'd been reheated and dried out slightly. The meats we got were good. One of the highlights people come here for is the berry bar, and I have mixed feelings about it. The whipped cream is excellent, and the quality of the fruits and other accoutrements are good, but I'm not sure if it's worth their militant attitudes towards guests over it. As the second part of my ranchers breakfast, I ordered the Swedish pancakes which were like a chewy and slightly thicker crepe, and my boyfriend got the lemon ricotta pancakes. These were good. Our server was very nice, and they take allergies (gluten for us) very seriously.

Yelp
Very busy place, specially during the summer! The food is really good though, and surprisingly, they offer some really good spicy locally made sauce for those of us that enjoy crying while eating. We go a few times during the summer, look forward to going again in a few months!

Yelp
3.9 stars! Food is tasty but nothing that blew us away or was memorable enough to return or be a first choice. Service was friendly and attentive. Table seating for large and small groups. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with side of avocado and my man ordered the Salmon Benedict. For drinks he chose a coffee and I chose mint tea. He enjoyed his food but was not pleased with the potatoes being so dry he needed sauce because of the dryness. I agreed potatoes were extremely dry even with the salsa verde in my dish I could not finish the dry potatoes. My food was extremely tasty I was pleased and impressed with the salsa. Food was yummy but we just wouldn't choose this as a go to place as we both agreed it was a bit pricy and we prefer other restaurants.

Yelp
Foods are great! If you look for savory foods, then I recommend burrito with green chili. If you order pancakes/french toasts, you can have access to fruit bar and get a bunch of fruits, which is really nice! Service is good too - they serve fast and good. It's busy, so it's a bit noisy. It's not easy to find a parking spot but if you go there during the weekend, you have access to garage for free!

Yelp
Made reservations for a Saturday morning for 2 and had a nice breakfast date with my husband. Highly recommend reservations if you come on a weekend because it gets pretty busy. My husband and I have lived in SLU for over a year and we finally got around to trying this spot! We sat inside, but maybe should have chosen outside. The inside area is pretty loud. Food portions are really big and our server Stephanie was really friendly. Food: + pear oat French toast special - loved this! Totally gave me fall vibes and it tasted delicious! You can go to their fruit bar and add whipped cream and berries. + breakfast sandwich - pretty solid and potatoes were tasty! + cheddar biscuit (side) - good flavor but I wish it was fluffier Overall, a nice breakfast spot with crowd pleasing breakfast dishes!

Yelp
Loud, crowded, but oh so tasty Portage Bay Cafe is known for a delicious brunch. Having made reservations in advance - and you really, really should make reservations in advance - me and my party were immediately seated upon entering. The hostess navigated the densely packed tables and seated us among the throng of people. Like I didn't know how I could get to the restroom without brushing by someone. The noise level is truly astonishing. My cousin was able to hear me, but my mother struggled. It was loud. In spite of the noise level we had a good time. Our waitress was very friendly, patient, and attentive. The food was excellent. I opted for the biscuits and gravy and by far this was one of my favorite biscuits and gravy - the cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy was divine - tender and flavorful! Oh so good!

Yelp
I generally don't start talking with ambience first but Portage Bay's ambience and environment hits differently. It will be the first thing that will strike you. Super lively, super crowded. Food is great and really acceptable portion size. I went to brunch for a friend's birthday treat and it was an amazing experience. I personally got goat cheese egg and side salad and it was amazing. The pancakes and french toasts were amazing too. They have open fruits counter and you can always add berries and banana to your pancakes. The coffee, tea and drinks were slightly underwhelming compared to their food. Another downside was the order might take a while specially on Saturday morning because the place is so busy.

Yelp
Portage has a huge indoor space. Despite our reservation, we had to wait around 15min and then waited another 45min for our food. I wasn't the biggest fan of how long we were waiting, but the food in itself was delicious. I got the special -- the chorizo scramble, and the slight spice and substance of all the ingredients were memorable.

Yelp
The food quality here has seemed to decrease, or I just ordered horribly. It's hard to mess up avocado toast ($16). Portage bay cafe messed it up. The avocado is not freshly sliced, it is a weird lemony mash like what you get in packaged guacamole. On top of untoasted, cold whole wheat sourdough. And then the fruit side is an extra ($5) which was shocking, I wish staff would have told us about the upcharge while selling to us Presentation was sloppy too. I had a bite of my friend's mushroom benedict and it was delicious though. They were packed to the brim with people so perhaps the same amount of care can't be given to dishes like it used to.

Yelp
A must-try brunch spot! This cute place has a cozy charm, and on cool days, they even offer blankets to keep you warm. Their pancakes are absolutely amazing--fluffy, soft, and delicious. I also loved their eggs benedict, and they offer plenty of vegan options! You can substitute meat with vegan alternatives and swap eggs for vegan eggs. They even have a complimentary fruit bar. The servers are super friendly and accommodating, making it a perfect spot for a family or friends' hangout. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Another great experience at Portage Bay! We practically visit from Portland, just to eat brunch here. It was packed by 9am, and our server was so sweet and efficient. I bet it took less than 10 min from ordering until our food arrived. Is there really anything better than their toppings bar, with the perfectly ripe berries and whipped cream? Yummm. Can't wait for our next Seattle trip!

Yelp
This place was sooo busy. It was 11am on a Saturday so I get it but damn. Our waitress was super friendly and definitely trying her best but for that crowd, you probably need some more staff. Food was decent but didn't amaze me. Shakshuka was okay and Swedish pancakes were nice. Potatoes were the star of the show
google avatar

Yelp
Great brunch location as always. Expect a wait, make sure to make a reservation but this place is well worth the wait. Not too pricy but ya it's expensive. Food portions are normal. I mean it's great for what it is.

Yelp
Came by on a Saturday morning--made a 9 AM reservation and showed up around 9:05, but seating was extremely quick. The restaurant was full with some empty tables, and quite lively and loud. The outdoor seating area looked very cozy with blankets and heaters but on a 50 degree cloudy day with rain and visitors from the east coast, we stayed inside. Our server was fantastic, she took our order, made sure we got water when it hadn't been delivered, and was very pleasant and efficient. I got a Seattle Benedict which was not bad! There was not a ton of crab on it, but adding the salt and pepper, and trying quite a bit of hot sauce, made it good. The menu does warn that the food will be RT since the avocado and crab is present, which wasn't my favorite part but that's fully on me. My mother who I was dining with, a vegetarian, had quite a few options to choose from, and opted for the goat cheese omelette, which was great too. Overly generous with the goat cheese. We ended up getting a box for the left over potatoes and bread since the food was so filling. A great place for brunch, at least in SLU!

Yelp
Literally just had breakfast here this morning and don't understand the poor reviews. The food was delicious and the service was great and efficient. Tied the special mimosas and they were good, but on the sweet side (which others may like). The dungeoness Benedict I had was outstanding. The eggs were perfectly poached with a beautifully runny yolk, tons of crab in the crab cake, potatoes were yummy. I got a side of bacon and sausage to share. Bacon was good, could be crispier, but the sausage was very nice...lean but still juicy and flavorful. My bro in law had the Seattle Benedict and he thoroughly enjoyed his as well. I would definitely come back here for brekkie on my next stay.

Yelp
We had brunch here on our last full day in Seattle. The location on Terry Ave was within walking distance of our hotel, which was super convenient. Our party of five tried to stop by for brunch on Saturday but there weren't any reservations available and there was a 40 minute wait for an outdoor table (hard pass for me). Service was fast! Our food came out super quick. I ordered Joe's Scramble with no mushrooms. It came with toast and breakfast potatoes. The scramble was good but I will definitely ask for more spinach next time. The breakfast potatoes were overcooked so I couldn't enjoy them. The other people in my party who also has breakfast potatoes said theirs were overcooked as well.

Yelp
Love that we can make a reservation at our favorite and iconic bustling Seattle brunch restaurant. It's the vegan banana pancakes with the trip to the berry bar all around for us. We added the fennel salad this trip and it was super tasty. Loved the shredded rainbow carrots but thought there definitely could have been a little more fennel. Service is solid and appreciated the host offered an outside table since it was a gorgeous day. Patio is so lovely and the blankets such a nice touch. This is our place!

Yelp
Omg, this place is freaking AMAZING! It's a cute place and you can sit indoors or outside. I JUGHLY recommend making a reservation as it is packed! We waited for about 15-20 minutes since we didn't have reservations but it was worth it. I had the pumpkin pancakes that had candied walnuts on it and a scoop of this insane cream sort of topping. I don't like pancakes and I ate all of these. My companion had the "Ranchers Breakfast" which was eggs, sausage, potatoes and a side of French toast. He ate it all. He couldn't stop raving about. This guy never eats more than a few bites normally and ate everything! The staff were super sweet and it was a fantastic experience. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Rich V.

Yelp
Staff and Management went insane over a guy with a camera on the sidewalk. Shame on them. Learn the constitution and it's Legal. Shame, Shame, Shame on this establishment.

Yelp
While I love the concept of brunch, I hadn't found a "classic" brunch place in Seattle that really hit the spot -- until now. I got the oatmeal french toast which was even better than I was hoping. The oatmeal crumble reminded me of a good cheesecake crust. I also love the concept of the breakfast bar that comes with the sweet entrees and I definitely loaded up shamelessly The portions are decently large. It's busy but there's a ton of seating, in multiple rooms and a few outside areas too, so we didn't have to wait too long at 11am on a Saturday. FYI the menu rotates seasonally, so some of the menu pictures on here might not be up to date. I WILL be coming back in the spring to try the lemon ricotta pancakes!!

Yelp
*Overall 3.75 Stars* This is a lively brunch place that's good for bigger groups with friends. Due to the size of the restaurant don't expect an intimate quiet brunch. Food was 50/50. A great dish and an average omelette. Service was good given the size of the place. Food: 4/5 Overall Italian sausage omelette: 3/5 Average. This omelette was nothing special and nothing bad. It didn't particular stand out to me but I also didn't find any issues. For $17 it was a great portion and I think a good value. Shakshuka: 4.5/5 Very good. I regret not getting this for myself, I loved this dish and the poached eggs were nicely cooked. Mixing the tomato stew with runny eggs on top of the bread with a little bit of arugula was the perfect bite. I enjoyed how the tomato's were a little bit chunkier, it wasn't too watery or thin so you could actually top the bread with them instead of only "dipping" Venue: 3/5. Average, very loud and crowded. Maybe the outdoor sitting was a bit calmer but it was definitely the type of place where you spoke with an "outside" voice to others on the table. There's a constant buzz of conversation which isn't necessarily bad but if you are hungover or looking for a cute intimate brunch with a date this isn't the best place. Service: 4/ 5 good - relative to the size. The waitress was kind and nice to us and passed by our table several times to refill our water and check in. Due to the size of the restaurant there's like 3-4 waiters constantly going back and forth. When I did have to flag down the wait staff they'd have to come back after servicing another table which wasn't a big problem but just illustrates that it's a packed house and the waiters seemed to be spread a bit thin.

Yelp
This place is next level 5/5. Being glutten free I was stoked to try the lemon pancakes. OMG, I'm not even a pancake fan., but these were insane!! Bacon great too and my espresso top it off. Will be my new breakfast destination every time I come to Seattle. Larger restaurant, but was packed and I can see why.
google avatar

Yelp
portage bay cafe is one of seattle's staple brunch spot. this was my second time trying it and the quality and service seemed to stay consistent. food is flavorful and i would say has a lot more spice than other breakfast spots which is why i love them so much! however, this location has an odd ambiance of mass production. the dining area feels like a cafeteria and i always prefer a patio seating for this reason. overall a great spot for brunch that can never go wrong in my books!
google avatar

Andrea G.

Yelp
Had a delicious breakfast here on our visit to Seattle! We ate the seasonal pancakes, French Toast and sausage, and Huevos Rancheros with chorizo. Also enjoyed a Chai latte and seasonal S'Mores Latte. The pancakes required a trip to the berry bar where I was able to load up in the most delicious whipped cream and fresh fruit. Pancakes were so big that I could only eat half. My husband enjoyed the French toast and, in particular, maple sausage links. Daughter loved her huevos and said the chorizo was really great. It was busy, but not too long of a wait on a Sunday. Service was GREAT!
google avatar

M R.

Yelp
Wow! This place is fantastic and shocked they have a low rating on here. We were greeted immediately by a wonderful gentleman who sat us immediately. Our server was friendly and energetic. I immediately noticed the fruit bar and got excited! We ended up order some recommendations from the server and it was indeed delicious. This is definitely a spot I will be going back to, especially to enjoy their cute patio and clean ambiance.
google avatar

Mandy E.

Yelp
Cafe is beautiful and the fruit and whipped cream topping bar was the star of brunch! Service was great, but the food was mediocre. I got the classic Eggs Benedict which was good but not memorable. My 6 year old loved her pancake with strawberries and cream, but when I tasted it, it was the same, good but not great. The coffee is strong and bitter which the bitterness was hard to tame.
google avatar

Ryen B.

Yelp
Friendly, efficient servers and lots of big breakfast plate options. Go hungry, portions are large and come with sides of potatoes or salad. Avocado toast is fine- topped with two perfectly poached eggs. Good option for a group breakfast.
google avatar

Lizzy L.

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch on a hot summer day. I thought the food was alright, just pretty average for a brunch place and a bit pricy for what I got. I got the farmers scramble which had some well-seasoned roasted veggies. It was decent, but not particularly spectacular. The ambiance was fun - we were seated outside and it was quite lively. The best part about this place was the service - servers were very friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Natalie W.

Yelp
service and food were great. the restaurant was really cute and had a nice atmosphere. The bathroom was surprisingly interesting... could definitley take a good selfie in there lol. passion fruit mimosas were delicious... get the pitcher... so worth it!!

Yelp
I definitely recommend getting reservations here. It is super popular and has a long line because of that. This also means it can be a bit loud, but despite the business, the hosts check in on you pretty often and the food isn't too slow. I'm torn about the mushroom eggs Benedict. The toppings made it one of the best Benedict's I have had but the eggs were overbooked. Mauve it's done on purpose and I should have clarified but generally I m like Benedict's have runny eggs which is how I like them. The toppings on the other hand were amazing! It was a nice mix of squash, cooked veggies, and not to much holinday sauce. All together it made it a great savory bite that wasn't too much. The potato's as well were well cooked with great seasoning and a crispy bite. Even though I didn't get it (which is probably good for their bottom line), there was a berry station too with tones of different berries and whipped cream. In general it was a bit pricy for breakfast food but good for what you are getting. I would definitely recommend here especially if you get reservations and clarify how you want your eggs cooked.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Food was great. Especially loved the hash which was delicious - a nice mix of vegetables, bacon, and chicken sausage and with perfectly cooked over easy eggs. The main downside was the place was really noisy - had to shout to hear each other.
google avatar

Kamal S.

Yelp
I came here for brunch on a weekday with friends and had a great time! The place was not as busy when we arrived but was packeddd. And rightfully so: it has a great vibe and good food! I had the classic French toast and added berries and whipped cream and nuts from the toppings bar. The crema was freshly whipped and delightful! We ended up staying a little past closing time without realizing it was closing time. The staff didn't kick us out and we're actually friendly as we apologized on our way out. Overall, I'd come back! Happy eating!
google avatar

Yelp
This place ALWAYS has a wait, and if you're lucky it'll be 30 minutes or less. I tried coming once and was met with a 2 hour wait, but I tried again and this time it was only 30 minutes. It ended up being shorter than that which was a pleasant surprise, but they do have quite a lot of seating available. As a result, however, the inside is SUPER loud and it's a bit hard to have a conversation without feeling like you constantly need to be yelling. I got the oatmeal cobbler french toast since it was an item I had never seen before on a menu. This particular dish also came with a visit to the fruit bar, which is a one-visit but unlimited spot to get as much fresh fruit as you wish. All of the berries were so plump and fresh and so good, which make the dish much more worth it for the price. The french toast itself was good but quite heavy, and almost felt like it was drowning in lemon sauce and more sugary stuff. I almost wish I asked for it on the side since I love just plain french toast too. Nonetheless, this is definitely one of the quintessential Seattle brunch restaurants and is certainly worth a try. Just be prepared to wait!

Yelp
Service: wonderful! everyone was so friendly and nice. Ambiance: busy for a friday morning but still no wait. Food: delicious!! and not too crazy expensive. the mushroom benedict had a tomato jam in it that was soooo good. i'm gonna go back for it. it just added a small thing that made it different. loved it tho. good portion sizes too.

Yelp
This restaurant has one of the liveliest interiors I have seen. The restaurant is massive and at 11:30 AM was extremely busy, even with tons of indoor seating. The service isn't immediate which is understandable given the restaurant's sheer popularity. It took some time to order and a little more for the food to arrive, but we played Egyptian war to pass the time. This restaurant certainly has unique dishes for a brunch place. The goat cheese omelette was good but not outstanding. Goat cheese is an acquired taste, and I'm lucky to have acquired this taste. The grilled cheese and soup however is amazing. It's difficult to badly screw up grilled cheese, but this one was perfect. The combination of the bread, cheese, and consistency of tomato soup was ideal. This restaurant doesn't have much obvious room for improvement, which speaks to the quality of the cooking. If I lived in Seattle, I'd come here every Saturday morning.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
This an amazing brunch location for those who does not eat early in the morning. I went there around 11:30 AM expecting for a wait, but I was shock that there wasn't any. They sat me immediately, and asked if I wanted to drink anything. When drinks came out, they asked if I had decided on anything. I would personally recommend asking the server what their favorites are. Especially if you are from out of town like I was. Since the location is pretty popular as reviewed, it is very loud inside but I would just see it as a very lively restaurant.

Yelp
I'm here for Vegas, visiting my hometown. I looked it up, and they had gluten free lemon ricotta pancakes with a berry sauce that was to die for. The have a fruit bar you can add berries to. The staff was so welcoming. Jose was so kind and attentive. The staff knows what hospitality is. The dining room is light and airy.

Yelp
Portage bay is a place you'll always leave feeling fed and nourished! I took some visitors here on this day and everyone raved how good it was. The shakshuka was one of the better ones I've had because It wasn't too acidic from the tomato base. With the eggs, bread, and cheese, it's a substantial dish of its own. Also contains mushrooms and onions!! Also ordered the swedish pancakes, which gets you a trip to the self serve fresh berries and cream bar (a portage bay MUST). The swedish pancakes are unique, very chewy from the tapioca. Tomato soup was good but too thick to be a soup (felt more like a sauce for the grilled cheese). I'd probably pass on this one next time just because there's more interesting things to try on the menu! Service was good, but this place gets BUSY. Be prepared to be patient since there's just a lot of customers inside and outside. Usually a wait so highly recommend a reservations. Outdoors is a nice vibe when the weather is nice.
google avatar

Yelp
**Must try brunch spot in seattle** The owner is very welcoming and attentive. There's a topping bar for French toast, to add your desired toppings. Salsa on burrito the huevos rancheros, have a perfect level of spicy! - only thing I would of wished the potatoes were cooked just a tad bit more. Overall great service and ambiance
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday and not was it busy. I had a reservation at 12:30 and didn't get sat until 1 but the staff did a great job communicating and getting everyone seated. I ordered the ranchers breakfast and biscuits and gravy. They mentioned they had a shared meal fee but didn't charge me for it. The berry bar was fun and stressful as you only get one visit but I l think I made it count. Parking in the area is really easy on weekends with street parking and plenty of cheap garage parking with no Amazon employees. Definitely the place for brunch but if you don't make a reservation expect to wait.

Yelp
I came here when visiting Seattle and enjoyed it. I had the a-la-carte fruit bar trip and the salmon Benedict. The fruit bar trip was 9 bucks which is steep, but I did get load up my plate decently. My critique on the Benedict is that it wasn't hot. Food being piping hot is a big thing for me. It was quite tasty though. Their fresh squeezed orange juice was tasty. Others in the group enjoyed the breakfast sandwich, Swedish pancakes, banana French toast, and coffee. There is a good amount of seating inside and outside which is nice. Our server checked in with us often and kept our waters full which was great.

Yelp
Amazing service with great food! We're from out of town, and it was our first time trying this place. The general manager came out and surprised us with Flan on the house! Highly recommend.

Yelp
An elevated breakfast experience :D Came here with some friends for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with our meal! Fresh ingredients and the combinations that they created for the meals is amazing. I'm usually not the biggest fan of traditional American breakfasts but this place leaves me wanting more. The servers seemed a bit chaotic, forgot our requests from time to time and almost delivered our meals to the wrong table and vice versa. While waiting for our table, someone asked us to move spots because we were in the way of other customers trying to dine, but it was a tad bit rude in my opinion. It wasn't really an ask, more so passive tell. This place gets SUPER busy so be prepared to find parking and to wait around for AT LEAST 25 minutes. Better yet just reserve a table in advance!! Very chit chatty restaurant with large windows to let lots of light shine through. Tad bit crowded but nothing like a couple of excuse mes won't help. Definitely will be coming back!

Yelp
This place had great service don't get me wrong, and the food was ok! Nothing out of this world good, but diner food non the less. My sister had made a reservation on a Saturday, which I knew was going to be insanely busy (and it was)! We got there a little before our reservation in the case they could seat us early, and to make sure we got there on time. We were surprisingly seated maybe 15min before our reserved reservation time, and were then gotten menus and offered a beverage pretty quickly. My sister and I got the ( I think it was called) the farmers breakfast, which came with diced potatoes, 3 eggs any way, sausage or bacon, and pancakes. And my husband got a burrito (I forgot what was in it! I'll have to edit this once I know) haha The food came out really fast, and we started eating. The eggs were fine, they were eggs (I got them scrambled), and the potatoes were very tasty! A little on the crispier side which is my favorite! If I had to pick anything to change about them it would be to cust them a little smaller, maybe into bite size pieces! But they were seasoned and cooked well. The pancakes were good, also just pancakes. I only ate half of one because they were giant haha with the pancakes I was able to go to the fruit bar (you are only allowed to go 1x). The bacon on the other hand was WEIRD, it tasted so so so off that I had to stop eating it after a couple bites. I've never tasted bacon like that before, but I have too much anxiety to complain or make a comment about my food that I just set it off to the side and carried on. (I know, I should have said something... I'm working on it!!) Anyways, the place itself was jam packed corner to corner and there was about 2ft between each table and people's chairs. They are deff using the max sqft they have luckily we were on an edge that had a larger walkway that the workers were taking food down. I don't know how I would have felt sitting one table over towards the middle of the chaos. It would have been a little claustrophobic for me! But to each their own! Well, if you got this far in the review... I hope it offered some helpful insight to what you're walking into if you come here! Service (great), space to have a normal conversation and general breathing room (meh, not great), food (nothing special, but decent if you want something breakfasty), bacon (stay away! Or, be better than me and tell them if yours tastes funky so they can get you something else!)

Yelp
Pro tip: reserve your table online! I was surprised I was able to do so as most breakfast places you have to show up and wait for a table but you can book one here! Portage Bay is a busy spot on weekends so skip the wait! They have great options in terms of sweet and savory and accommodate kids as well with their own menu and high chairs. I tried their gluten free french toast and I couldn't tell it was gluten free. Some of the breakfast options give you a pass to go to their berry buffet which has the best cream and fresh fruit.

Yelp
Where can I start? The server were incredibly nice as I walked into this beautiful establishment. The service was great point blank. However, the food on the other hand was just okay. The Lemon ricotta pancakes were incredibly delicious , but the eggs needed something. The bacon was too crispy where I asked for not too crispy . And the potatoes were okay but the skin was very hard. Overall I would say this place is cool for a group occasion, but with the overpriced food I would say there's better options.

Yelp
It was really good. Everything I expected out of my burrito. The mole verde was awesome.
