How Emmy Squared Detroit-Style Pizza — From New York — Made Its Home in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"When sourcing locally, Porter Road Butcher stood out for the team; their chorizo and Italian sausage are used to enhance the flavor profiles of the hatchback, deluxe, and margarita pies." - Alex Hendrickson

Google
Love this place. You can tell immediately they have passion for what they do and a clear knowledge and appreciation for food and where possible, locally sourced quality products. I picked up a few cuts of meat and could not resist grabbing a bag of the hot off the smoker Habanero Pineapple smoked beef jerky. Delicious. I'll be back for sure.

Google
I have been wanting to experience Porter Road Butcher for a LONG time and it did not disappoint. I went in knowing I was cooking for a group and wanted to go all out. Everything below was absolutely remarkable. Memphis style sausage was ridiculous after we scored it (got mulched before a picture could be taken) the filets were cut fresh from a tenderloin. Incredible marbling and the taste was even better… they were so massive the butcher’s twine was struggling! I grabbed a couple of bone marrow canoes and that was the ideal topping for the filets. We did grab the coffee chili rub and it was a PERFECT accentuation to the light salt and pepper that these filets really only needed. Paired with Alaskan king crab for the ultimate surf and turf. Comments from the diners “this was the best meal we’ve had in our new house.” You can cook/grill something special With the quality of meat from this establishment. Everything was great, atmosphere, setup, frozen section is great for grab and go. The quality in the meat case was bonkers. The pork looked awesome, beef speaks for itself above. I almost did not get a picture before everything was gone! We will be back and to try a whole host of different items!

Google
We began purchasing their products online in June. I like that the company is 30 minutes from me. Fresh meat from small farms, with no hormones ever. I like that they dry-age all meats. They're very tender. The drawback is the meat comes in only the weight advertised. Some cuts are too large for two people and others not enough. In addition, I was disappointed with their pork bacon from this last order. We eat a lot of bacon. We want it thick instead of paper thin. The three packages I just purchased are sliced way too thin.

Google
I've been ordering porter road online to Illinois for the last few months and have not been disappointed once with the quality of meat that was delivered. I also test what butcherbox meat delivery was like which would have been great if I hadn't already tried porter road as its quality is hard to beat.

David T.

Google
Bought Dino ribs. They sent a 3 bones with nothing but fat. I could not be more disappointed, this was my first order. Total waste of money and now I have to add food to my meal tomorrow.

Chris L.

Google
Not sure if it was just a mistake but I ordered two picanhas and one of them looks like it got mailed by a T. rex before they sealed and shipped it. It’s not at all the high quality they tout online. It really put me in a tough spot for a bbq this weekend. Don’t trust these guys with your hard earned money, just another online greedy cash grab with zero quality assurance.

Google
I am SO happy i found this place! #COVID They ship! To California! W have been very happy with the meat we've gotten Oh MYYYYY! and the Service is spectacular! We just got 2 chickens, can't wait to cook them up! Shipped with care! Always perfect Temps, frozen chickens VERY cold steaks [as they are supposed to be]. I'm so glad i read cooking instructructions , very little seasoning! The meat is so tasty! Thank You!!!

Google
Excellent butcher and meat delivery service! Meat was very well packed in temperature controlled boxes. The Porter seasoning was delicious and full of flavor! And the sirloin filets were so thick that we cut them in half. They were very tender, definitely one of the best I've ever tasted! I will be ordering more from Porter Road Butcher!

Yelp
I purchased a Burger Box and mixed a one-pound package of dry-aged ground beef and a one-pound brisket mixed together for four delicious burgers that I pan-fried in an an assortment of organic pecan oil and avocado oil. I seasoned them well. They are so delicious and were a great dinner for me and my wife last night. My order arrived on-time and was packaged very well. I strongly recommend them for your grass-fed beef needs. The turnaround was excellent and the product was even more excellent. I look forward to purchasing more from them in the future.

Yelp
We ordered by mail order. The dry aged ribeye is very good, but it should be excellent, for the price. But for the quality of the steaks, it would have received 2 stars. We can do much better at Costco, and won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service and great meat! The guys were super helpful. I wanted a specific cut and they were very accommodating.

Yelp
Time for an update! Porter Road Butcher continues to be a staple in our lives. For Thanksgiving we finally said we're done with the bird and made short rib instead. PRB was our first and only stop. Of course the staff was knowledgeable, of course the staff guided us appropriately, and of course they sold us the best possible meat. As an aside, long before Shabu Shabu came to Nashville, my husband set out to make it at home for me. I absolutely love it and was so said without it. He called PRB and told them his plan. They were more than happy to help! They almost froze the meat so they could slice it accordingly. It was perfect and brought me so much joy. PRB will do their best to help so next time you need something usual or unusual, give them a shout!

Yelp
Bought two Tri Tip steaks, both about 2 pounds each. Really nice marbling throughout. When I opened them they both had a fat cap still in place. I cut most of it off as I was going to smoke them for about 3 hours. In retrospect, I probably should have left the fat cap on and smoked them for about 6 hours to allow the fat to render into the meat. In any event, I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out. I smoked them to an internal temperature of 135 and then seared them on my grill at the highest heat for two minutes on each side. I then let them rest for about an hour. They were delicious and all my guests loved it. I have made Tri Tip previously with meat from Kroger and it was nowhere near as good as this. Although pricey, about double the Kroger price, it was well worth it. I will definitely buy from Porter Road again.

Yelp
I used to love coming here to pick up quality cuts in east nashville. Recently it hasn't been worth the trip, they barely have anything in stock and what they do have looks awful. The business model seems to have shifted from a local butcher to an online meat delivery service, which is fine, but may as well just close the retail store at this point. Unfortunately now I'll have to make the drive to the Franklin Farmer's market rather than wasting my time hoping for a change.

Steffanie F.

Yelp
Such good meat cuts & butter!!!!! we bought 2 pieces of their teres major cut, 2 chucks, 2 denver cuts, a pound of beef bacon, & a huge thing of butter for only $137. they all look so juicy and thick -- it's a great price for what we got. THE BUTTER IS HONESTLY ONE OF THE BEST THINGS WE'VE BOUGHT (other than the meat)! The service was so wholesome & helpful! can't wait to go back

Yelp
Seriously awesome quality!! I am never disappointed. The Bavette & Brisket knocked my socks off!!

Yelp
I recently ordered multiple filet mignon cuts for a dinner party from Porter Road. We had never ordered from there before so I wasn't sure what to expect but everything arrived on time and the meat was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be ordering from Porter Road again.

MiKyahl A.

Yelp
My second order from Porter Road Meat. The first one was excellent Feb.2024 The beef Sticks were amazing. My second order was Thawed out and the ice packs were soft. The beef sticks in the second order were bland tasteless and had an old meat flavor without any spices. This company is going to the dumps fast as of August 2024. In my opinion. I very dissatisfied with my August order. you guys need to get a hold of your quality control. getting to big for your britches.

Yelp
I have ordered from these folks several times, particularly during the height of COVID lockdowns. From shipments, I've tried everything from bacon to steaks, chicken, lamb, and beef ribs. The only time I was disappointed was with the beef ribs which were very fatty. Everything else was spectacular, especially their sausages and lamb. We decided to actually stop in and check out their storefront so we could pick up something to grill for Memorial Day (2022). We ended up going with some nice thick-cut bone-in pork chops and grabbed a few spicy sausage links for later in the week. They were actively prepping fresh cuts for the case while we were there and the fresh case featured some great looking steaks, chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. You can also get some of the frozen items on site if you want to skip the shipping costs, packaging, and wait-time. They also stock a variety of sauces, cheeses, etc. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Availability subject to change due to the fact these folks specialize in local (Ky, Tn), sustainably farmed meats.

Yelp
We used to love this place but after the latest changes can see no reason to go there. They sell pre-cut and pre-packaged meats. They apparently can't cut meat to order. And the employees don't really know about meat and therefore can't answer questions. But they still are charging premium prices. Check out Bare Bones Butcher instead. The prices are high but they know their stuff and will cut you whatever you like to order. They also are happy to talk about cuts and make recommendations.

Yelp
An embarrassment to call this place a butcher shop. The beef is not graded which is fine but they don't offer any info on anything. Just attitude. Fact: you can get better beef at a better price at Whole Foods on Broadway. Why would I go to a butcher shop if you don't have a butcher to cut meat to order by size and preference? Cheers to 10 more years of mediocrity. We can't all be great.
google avatar

Luke L.

Yelp
Let me preface this with the fact that I've been a PRB customer since they opened. If you want some frozen mail-order meat, than Porter Road is perfect for you. It's a surprisingly good deal when you buy things from their website. But if you want a butcher, someone to pick out a fresh cut of meat with you, than look elsewhere. The last for or five times I've been they've only ever tried to sell me pre-packaged frozen meat, the same thing you'd buy from their website. I'm sure that they're selling good quality meat: but why would I go in when I could simply buy online? There are actual butchers still in Nashville, I'd go to one of them and spend a little extra coin: you'll be happy with the outcome.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Got a Christmas package containing steaks, chicken, pork, bacon and breakfast links. Everything was fantastic, so flavorful and delicious. Will definitely order in the future.

Yelp
Porter Road is a local butcher shop in East Nashville. I usually order online and have the meat delivered but I have visited the store a few times. The service is a little slow but it gives you time to check out what is in stock. It is really nice to have a small shop that supports local vendors (eggs, jams, dairy). I prefer to order online when there is a special or discount code available but keep in mind recycling the boxes is time consuming. Overall the meat has been very good - I still miss the amazing meat from River Rock Farm in Massachusetts but Porter Road is usually better than the local Farmers Market selections.

Yelp
A butcher is almost always going to be more expensive than the chain grocer, but you'd be surprised by how little. Especially these days. Plus there's the added benefit of knowing you're supporting independent, local farms. Anytime I want to smoke a pork butt or some ribs... this is where I go. Meat is always high quality. Ribs are even cheaper than Publix. Anytime I go I also dig through the freezer to see what's in the discount bin to stock up on their breakfast sausage for gravy, chorizo for chili, and of course ribs. I never leave without some of the sweet heat beef sticks to snack on as well.

Scott N.

Yelp
My first order came with the vacuum bag seal broken on one of my 2 pork bellies. I ordered the frozen pork belly with the intent to keep it in the freezer until it was time to use them, but with the seal broken and are now in contact with the meat, the clock is ticking. I reached out to support who said, put it in a ziploc and put it in the freezer, it'll be fine. No, it won't. If it's fine to put in a ziplock and not vacuum seal it, then why go through that step yourselves? It keeps out the air and prevents freezer burn. So now I have a Pork Belly that I will be using much much sooner than expected. Support also gave me a code that's only 10% off my next order for the "inconvenience". I think that's the only time I'll be order from them.

Yelp
Felt very unwelcome and rushed when we went. Customer service not the strong suit, would rather spend the money somewhere else from now on.

Yelp
Porter Road supported the Germantown cleanup 4/23. They provided us hamburgers and hotdogs. I had the privilege of grilling them. The hamburgers are huge and oh so delicious. I grilled them just above pink and they were perfect. The hot dogs were the best I have ever eaten. Grilled to a slight char, meaty and thick. They crunched to the bite. Absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend Porter Road for a party, family dinner or evening dining. The meats in their display case are beautiful. Enjoy!!

Yelp
I desperately want to cheer for a local store with excellent customer service, an enticing interior space, hand-cut steaks, high-end cheeses and sausages, and the goal of becoming the best butcher shop in the country. And any place that sells the world's greatest chocolate milk from the Hatcher Dairy has already won me over! But our test kitchen found surprising results. Visiting four local butcher shops (in Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin) and purchasing one New York Strip from each location of equal thickness and weight, I was on a mission to truly determine the hierarchy of meat stores in Middle Tennessee. As the son of two chefs, this sort of competition is a monthly occurrence in our household. Upon grilling the four specimens under identical circumstances, we began the Great Steak Off of 2017, administering a blind taste test with our family as we sampled 3-4 ounces of each. I labeled four sticky notes with a number corresponding to each butcher shop. My wife, not knowing which number representing which business, placed the sticky note on the bottom of four plates and then plated each corresponding steak. As we carefully tried each cut of beef, there was one steak in particular that didn't compare to the rest. It lacked tenderness, had an atypical flavor, and ranked dead last on everyone's list, despite all of us having very different tastes. Searching for the culprit, we lifted up the plate and looking underneath to reveal sticky note #3. Looking on my list to find the steak's true identity, we were shocked to find that #3 was the meat from Porter Road Butcher Shop, a place so heralded among locals! How could this be? At $21 per pound, it was the most expensive sample in the experiment and only mediocre in taste! It certainly wasn't a bad steak, but it wasn't spectacular either. It was just boring and ordinary. FYI: Plan a lot of time if you visit this store because none of the employees are in any sort of hurry. I was the only customer and it took 20 minutes to cut the meat, wrap it up, and check out at the register!!! But I admit that I do appreciate someone hand-cutting a steak of my desired thickness right there on site. If only it had been worth the wait. P.S. If you're curious, the steak from Whole Foods blew away the competition, which surprised us all! We thought the butcher shops would have been more competitive.

Yelp
I ordered a few different cuts of beef online and had it delivered to me in Virginia Beach. They have a great selection of cuts as well as chicken, pork and lamb. I also use Butcher Box who I am very happy with, however Porter Road has a much wider variety of products. The animals are humanely reared which is the main reason I will continue to order from Porter Road, however they also have a better selection of cuts than I can find locally. The beef was good quality, it is finished on grain which I really like. Everything arrived cold and the vacuum packs were all intact, I like that the beef arrives fresh rather than frozen also. The packing is all recyclable / biodegradable which is great too. The company is very responsive via email also which is nice. I don't have a subscription, I like how I can just order what I want when I want it rather than being tied to a certain amount with a subscription. They do have subscription options available also if that's something you're interested in. I look forward to more great orders in the future.

Yelp
Navigating cuts of beef or pork is never easy for the novice but the crew at porter makes it easy. Alway super friendly and helpful

Yelp
We received a box of steaks from a relative for a gift. What a disappointment! She previously sent us either Omaha Steaks (they are good) or Kansas City Steak Co (these are EXCELLENT but expensive). Porter Road steaks don't compare to either. They are fatty and tough. It wasn't just one steak, it was all of them. Very disappointed by the quality. Don't waste your money!

Yelp
I went here thinking it was The Bloomy Rind (and it still is, just wholesale)- there's curbside only so they told me to check out their cheese menu on Instagram (they normally have a sign out with their current cheese offerings but it was broken)- but the woman on the phone was SUPER helpful in helping me to order-without-seeing four different cheeses, raspberry/black pepper jam, crackers and charcuterie meats- I'm a totally visual person so I appreciated the hand holding through a very auditory process! Last night my best friend and I sampled every item... All was absolute perfection. Cheeses were Stilton, Nightshade, a cheddar with truffle and a soft cheese like Camembert. Soooo scrumptious.

Carmen H.

Yelp
I purchased some chorizo yesterday to make breakfast tacos this morning. The chorizo was seasoned to perfection. My husband kept raving about them. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This review is for their online service: I received my online subscription order quickly and it was well packaged. My steaks and ground beef were cold and my chuck roast and bacon were still frozen. We tried the NY strip and the rib eye today, pan fried in a cast iron and oh my goodness. I don't know if it was the dry aging or the never frozen aspect of it but these steaks were absolutely amazing, and I just put sea salt, pepper, and olive oil. They definitely have a beefier taste than steaks you get from the grocery store and the texture is much more pleasant to bite into. Both steaks were comparable to fancy restaurant steaks, they were that good! I may change my beef box subscription from every 2 months to every month because I'll be really sad to not have one of these steaks in they freezer just in case a steak craving strikes lol. I can't wait for a cold autumn day to make my chuck roast :) Thank you porter road!!

Yelp
Terribly disappointed by what I've always been told was a great butcher shop. I made a special order for an 8 lb brisket a week ahead of a very special get together. I was to pick it up 12 hours before starting the 14 hour smoking process. However, I got a call that morning telling me that they had sold my brisket to someone else and that they wouldn't be able to get another one for several days. Their only suggested remedy was 10% off on a different cut of meat. Or to look at it another way: pay 90% for something I didn't want. I had to scramble to find another butcher shop all the way in Franklin that had one last brisket that they were able to sell me. It was really sad to see how little they cared about making it right and keeping my business.

Bobbi K.

Yelp
We received a meat gift box - one per month, 3 deliveries. The meat was not edible it was so tough. It was called filet of sirloin. No such cut. The enclosed packing slip states meat is fresh and cold but never frozen. It was definitely frozen. We called to try to upgrade but were told no and there was no comment regarding the poor quality.
google avatar

Yelp
I've used this butcher twice and the service was good. I was greeted and assisted by the staff as soon as I walked in. I really like the assortment of different cuts that I wouldn't be able to get at a regular store. I will say that I didn't get the particular cut I was looking for ( they were out) but, I guess that means you have to get there fast. I love to cook and variety that they provide was plus. I've be a repeat customer!
google avatar

Karri S.

Yelp
If you enjoy eating large quantities of industrial produced meat- don't go here. If you enjoy smothering your meat in delicious sauces to mask the flavor or texture of meat- don't go here. If you enjoy finding the cheapest meat around- don't go here. If you enjoy knowing the animal flesh you are eating did not suffer before it died- go here. If you enjoy quality over quantity- go here. If you believe farmers deserve a living wage- go here. I was a pretty solid vegetarian before this place opened up, but that's not the case anymore. Don't get me wrong, we don't get a lot of meat but when we want to splurge and eat something REALLY good, we go here. Everything we've had so far (sausages, hot dogs, steaks (for the husband) has been excellent. The people behind the counter know their product and know the farmers. I am so glad this place opened so close to our house! Do call ahead if there is something specific you want. They run out fast!

Yelp
Unbelievable cuts, great customer service and SUSTAINABLY RAISED meats. Love this place. We recently tried some Andouille sausage, dry aged ribeye and breakfast sausage and every single one was the best we've ever had. So happy I can shop online now too!

Yelp
There are actually two locations of the Porter Road Butcher - one on the East Side off of Gallatin Avenue, and one on the West Side, off of Charlotte Avenue. It was a cute little butcher shop with some dry goods, jams, hot sauce, and relish, while in the main area, you request the meats you want from several butchers that are on site. I loved the fact that all their meat comes from farms that are within 2 hours from the shop. The owners, Chris and James, personally go themselves to every farm and make sure that the locations have the highest level of 'animal husbandry' (treating the animals, farm, and the local environment with the utmost respect). The meats selection include beef, chicken, lamb, and pork - I saw some spicy 'hot chicken sausages' that look might tasty, as well as their cured bacon - yum! The guys in there were helpful and friendly, and I would love to come back if I were in the area for much longer and cook up some of their meats to chow down! :D +fresh meat! +friendly staff :D

Yelp
Figured I would update my review...... I go to PRB every week and get my weekly meat. Today I found hotdogs made from short ribs! The steaks I got were probably over 13 inches long and over an inch thick.. dry aged for 21 days. They went on my dry aging racks and will dry age a couple days longer... I really like getting my meat here, only because they remember what you like and what you don't like. I appreciate merchants remembering their customers. It's a great selling tool... And I feel blessed that they are in my neighborhood. I can't always get over to Whole Foods.. it's easier to go the 5 blocks and go to PRB. Clean, plenty of variety, no offal.. Good customer service, and I like the fact that there is lard, eggs, whole cream, and plenty of cheese here. I don't have to go all over town for my needs. Also.. their bacon is really good. I can't stand all the liquid smoke in Bentons bacon... they don't do that here... And should I also mention that they ground bacon up and add to their ground beef, upon request? Bacon! It does the human body good!

Yelp
Meaty mcmeat meat. Plus some FANTASTIC local products - grits, honey, etc. I was traveling so mostly took charcuterie home - and grits and honey. Fantastic service. Prices were very reasonable for this quality.

Elaine H.

Yelp
I was a loyal customer for years but I'm done now. I will show up within minutes of them posting an Instagram story advertising what's available and yeah no it's not really available. They also act like they're doing you a favor by letting you shop there. -edited to add, this is like the 8th time this has happened, so I'm not just posting after one negative visit

Yelp
I don't know what else I can add to the other reviews other than a positive confirmation of everything that has been stated here. When I first moved to Nashville I was so disgusted by the animal protein options at the markets on this side of the river and I often remarked that if some person came along and opened a butcher they'd surely make a killing, it was very exciting when PRB opened. I don't think people are really aware of how lucky they are to have something like this in the neighborhood. Damn lucky. Everything I have eaten from PRB has been 5 stars, there's just not much else to say about it after that.

Dave W.

Yelp
I want theater day to pick up a few things. There's a sign out saying they were open and I walked in only to be treated like a criminal as if I broke in ! I can't remember being treated so rudely and I'm definitely going to have to rethink if I go back again

Virgil V.

Yelp
The aged beef is some of the best you can buy and is shipped well protected. The dry aged beef sticks are unlike the greasy convenience store stuff. The bratwurst I bought is vacuum packed and I processed 1 package in sousvide for 4 hours at 150 and browned in butter on each side for 1 minute. I've never had better brats. I bought beef short ribs and smoked them, phenomenal. Dry aged beef is the best flavor. We were introduced to this at a young age as my folks shopped at slaughterhouse and bought aged beef.

Tony G.

Yelp
Ive ordered a number of products from Porter Road; sliced pork belly, a couple of 12 ounce hamburger patties, and their Chili Grind ground meat. We used the pork bellies for BLT's and it was great. The hamburgers were ok, but not nearly as good as Allen Brothers Prime steak burgers, which is the standard I go by. The Chili Grind was really bad; the ground meat had a blond hair in it. Yikes! No blondes live here. Threw out the whole pot of chili!
google avatar

Ericha T.

Yelp
Super helpful and nice staff! Prices aren't as bad as I thought they'd be and I definitely taste the delicious difference between grocery store meat and PRB!
google avatar

Angie T.

Yelp
My goodness! Having guests for dinner. We stopped for steaks... beautiful. So many choices! I'm going to have to get over to Porter way more often! And then we also got six lovely cheeses for a starter tray. Was delicious!! Thank you so much!

Christine K.

Yelp
Big thanks to Porter Road Butcher for making my anniversary a special night while in quarantine! We ordered charcuterie accompaniments along with a couple of boneless ribeyes and everything was wonderful. Thanks again to Shira for your suggestions and amazing customer service. We'll be back for more soon!

Yelp
Hands down the BEST quality meats available. Pasture raised, no hormones, no antibiotics. The taste tells the story. We get all our protein from Porter Road. Highly recommend this great butcher.

Yelp
I have always been skeptical buying meat online, sight unseen, relying on images of perfectly procured meat. Against my good judgement, I bought meat from Porter Road. From other sources I have been told to try the Denver Steak, a tender delicious cut of meat, since Porter Road had this particular cut, I ordered 4 steaks as well as other cuts of meat. They arrived nicely packaged and in a timely manner however once I opened the packing and saw the cuts of meat, I knew immediately they were not good - visible gristle, not very marbled and unevenly cut, different thicknesses, tapered, thick on one end, thin on the other, which makes any meat difficult to cook. I sous vide the steaks as suggested which is how I always prepare my steak, then seared the steak basting it in herbs and butter and let them rest for 10 minutes. I reluctantly served them to my guests - the unanimous consensus was, after everyone spit out the few bites they took, it was the WORST meat they have ever had! I can usually masticate anything, but this meat had a very weird texture, it was chewy and gristly, it would literally not break down thus spitting out partially chewed pieces of meat...the absolute worst meat I have ever eaten. The other cuts of meat I bought do not resemble their images and look as crappy as the Denver Steaks - I will not be wasting my time cooking their meat and will probably grind it down for my dog...very expensive dog food... Anyone considering buying meat from these people should look for local butchers in your area, many local butchers and some grocery chains carry USDA prime, pasture raised, dry aged meat. You can see what you are buying before you purchase the meat and if there is an issue, they will take the meat back. Surprisingly, my local Safeway carries prime pasture raised beef, which is excellent, nothing like the junk these people sell you online. Ignore the fancy advertising and pretty pictures - their meat is crap!

Yelp
There is nothing not to love about PRB. Yes, I mean, their prices might seem aggressive over a super market, but honestly comparing their meat to super market meat is a little aggressive, too ;). I also use them for a resource for bones to make bone broth with, and it's wonderful knowing I'm getting bones of responsibly raised cows so that I can make the highest quality, healthy bone broth. The staff is so nice, and I really enjoy having them nearby.

Yelp
I have always loved and supported PRB since it began. Have been treated politely and the products are amazing. Tonight I came to get my mom's order and the female inside the store was watching me call, twice then third time. I watched her take off her headset then went about cleaning, my husband finally got out of the car and that same female came out frustrated , pointing at the sign telling me not to call but to text. MY BAD. How rude was she. What she didn't know nor seemed to care was that I've been battling Stage 4 cancer and my eyes and cognitive ability have been affected by the Chemo. What a pity she didn't take a look at my bald head to maybe have a clue. I will never give my business to PRB again. I'm embarrassed that a human treated another human the way she treated me. Shame on you

Yelp
Wonderful selection, attentive and friendly staff! Continual rotation and new meat options all the time! They even have meat cuttings for your pets! So amazing, it's hard to find a good local butcher shop. Along with cheeses and sauces. Nice place, definitely going to become a regular. Only thing left is to see if the significant other likes the Italian sausage (the true test)!

Yelp
Want to start off by saying that the two stars is not indicative of the quality of the beef which is great. I love beef and have a good source of prime beef locally but my daughter gave me a 50.00 gift certificate to try out PRB. I know this won't be much in the way of prime beef but a couple of steaks to try was nice. So I tried to order but they were out of my favorite cut so I decided to wait till they had it back in stock. After two weeks I was able to order and did. My BIG surprise was that to ship two steaks 48.00 worth of beef (approx: 1.6 lbs) cost me 40.00 to ship. That works out to north of $56 per pound. My prime beef here locally for rib-eye is only about 26.00 per pound. My gift certificate was basically eaten up by shipping. The order arrived in about 5 days and was packaged well and arrived in good condition. The meat is very good. BUT: Conclusion: If you are local to a PRB facility or shop this is a great option. The meat is of very good quality. If you have to order on line forget it. Better to find a good local butcher. Shipping should never be as much as the product.
