Bucks County’s Best Steakhouses | Eater Philly

"With a steak-themed name like Porterhouse Restaurant and Pub, you better believe this Lahaska dining spot serves up sensational steaks. Select the 6-ounce or 8-ounce filet mignon with Maytag blue cheese and walnuts, a generously-sized 18-ounce Delmonico, or add some seafood to your steak dish with the Steak ‘n Cake menu item, a filet mignon and broiled jumbo lump crab cake combo served with a baked potato. Dine in the casual downstairs pub or enjoy your steak dinner upstairs in the dining room with its breathtaking Bucks County views." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Appetizers were excellent (buffalo mozzarella was my favorite of the 3 we tried) and the main dishes were just as good. The staff were friendly even when we asked for things like desert to go but with the icecream removed. The view from upstairs is nice and I prefer it to the busy bar environment downstairs. Overall great place.

Views from the upstairs dining room were lovely. Issue lies in the lack of AC which caused many of us to not enjoy and fully relax during dinner. Food was decent, generous portions, quality expected for the price point, and a few standouts and misses. Baked potatoes were undercooked, some apps were under seasoned, crab cakes were awesome, onion soup was under seasoned and lacked the richness of a proper onion soup. Service was attentive and prompt with only issues coming from the drinks being massively delayed. Great for a romantic date for those seeking good views, consistent decent food with a hometown feel.

Got dinner here with my friend after we spent the day at Peddler’s Village. Our server, Teresa, was very friendly and the food we got was great. We shared the chicken & spinach dip for an appetizer. Then I got the Brew Master’s burger and she got the Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich. The portions were generous so we took plenty of our food home with us for leftovers!

Google
Typical pub foods with awesome staff and family friendly atmosphere. The French onion soup could use a little more time to sweat the onion since it tasted like they cooked it in the broth and not sauteed long enough, the cheese pull on top was delicious. Burger was delicious and highly recommended. Espresso martini was good though I don’t think it was made with real espresso and rather a concentrate. Fish and chips were solid fried cat fish and fries. Would come again for the burger.

We sat at a high top in the bar area. At the bartender's suggestion, we tried the mango cosmo and cherry bourbon smash. Both were really good. Our dinners were delicious. We had the bronzed grouper and Delmonico steak dinner...can't wait to come back!

What a disappointment. We're locals, and have dined at the Porterhouse many many times in the past, most of them good experiences. Entertaining out of town company, we went there on a Friday night so we made an early reservation (5:30pm) and requested a window table upstairs. We got there (mandatory valet parking) and the hostess took us upstairs. When I asked earlier about a window table, she said "I believe so", we got up the stairs and there were about 4 open tables next to the windows - great! She took us to one that had a huge rooftop a/c unit filling the entire window. Really? After I requested a window table, you're thinking it wasn't for the view but rather I wanted to look at some industrial hardware? We pointed to one of the other open tables next to the windows and she took us to one of them. Jason was our server - he was the only redeeming feature of the evening, his service was awesome and took care of us very well. We ordered and Jason returned shortly with our salads and soups. We were maybe 1/2 way through our salads when the entrees came to the table - first time I have been there and felt rushed - so they try to fit large plates next to our salad plates and bread plates and even suggested if they could take some of the other smaller plates away to make some room - well, we're not done yet with our salads! Jason apologized that the entrees came out so quickly, obviously not his fault, but it was another blight on our evening. I ordered the 10oz Maytag Filet - medium rare. When I cut into it, it was very rare, looks like it could have stayed on the fire for another 5 minutes or so (which was ironic considering how quickly the entrees came out to our table). Jason was busy, the rest of my table were eating their meals, so I just started in on this very rare piece of meat. When Jason eventually came over to ask how everything was, I pointed out the cook on the steak, he immediately offered to take it back so the kitchen can put it back on the fire, I told him no, I didn't want to sit there while everyone else was finishing up only to have my meal return when they were all done - I'll just take the steak home and will nuke it. Leaving, the valet pulled up our car, jumped out and grabbed his tip from me and then leaned against the valet stand to look at his phone and pulled out his vape pen to his mouth. 3 women with me, he couldn't open the other doors for them? So that was our Friday night at the Porterhouse. We used to recommend it highly to friends and new friends who ask for a good place to eat in our area - I'm afraid that is changing now. We just didn't feel like valued customers.

Google
Such a classy place. The experience starts with complimentary valet parking and only gets better from there. The food was amazing and they had myriad options and many were classic steakhouse offerings but with upscale twists. Like a cheese steak sandwich but made with prime rib. The only thing better than the food was the service. Timely, cheerful, upbeat, and attentive without hovering. Honestly, the whole experience was outstanding.

Yelp
Elevated pub food that was to die for! Cute interior and nice list of cocktails or beers. The portions were huge and each entree came with a side salad or soup (which were also pretty tasty). Everything I tried was flavorful & thought the presentation really took date night to another level! Will definitely come back for the pasta and desserts, but you can't go wrong with the Horseradish & Crab Crusted Sirloin.

Yelp
It is a hike for us to visit this restaurant. We live in maple Glen, Pa. The trip is so worth it. The service on spot and the ambiance is very chill. We order the cheese mozzarella with tomato appetizer, the buffalo chicken sandwich is the best! Hands down the best! The restaurant is clean and so are the bathrooms. The bar area is clean and d the bartender very personal. When you visit you will not be disappointed. There is also an upstairs, which gives you a beautiful view of the land around the restaurant. One time we saw a distant air balloon.

Yelp
Some of the best service I've ever had especially at a pub. The spring rolls were so unique and tasty. Prices were reasonable. Pub was relaxed but not too loud. Mango Cosmo was excellent. One of the best cocktails I've had in a while.

Kelly R.

Yelp
Amazing experience and will definitely be back. We had a large party and despite the amount of people all of our food came out in a timely manner, was correct and delicious! Service was amazing, staff was very kind and helpful! Everything was great would absolutely recommend!

Yelp
I was in Peddler's village doing some shopping this weekend and decided to stop at Porterhouse for a late lunch! I've been coming here with my family for years and they NEVER disappoint. I challenge you to find better wings and fries in the area- But they also have great sandwhiches, wraps, and burgers! I highly recommend the Cesar wrap and Pear martini Porterhouse is perfect for any occasion as the staff is great and the downstairs gives a casual pub feel, while the upstairs is decorated for a more formal event.

Yelp
My friends and I came to this restaurant for dinner, it is located near Peddler's Village, it was wonderful to walk and have dinner in such a cozy place. Very tasty food, friendly staff, great atmosphere, nice prices

Yelp
This place has been on my yelp list for years... finally made it this evening. Food is good, I still think Buttonwood grill is a bit better down the road. Started with wedge salad which was incredible, one if the best I've ever had actually. Then went with the brew master burger. Asked for it medium, came out well done. Didnt see or taste any horseradish sauce so I asked for a cup of it. Burger was overcooked and kind of dry to be honest without the sauce. I'm definitely going to return. Might try the filet mignon sandwich next visit. The service is painfully slow too. The scenery out back is gorgeous.

Yelp
Love the food, the service and the viewamazing salad , cocktails were so good and the brisket sandwich big and delicious enough to share- highly recommend

Yelp
We dined as a group of 10. It was a nice touch to arrive to friendly valet attendants. We were greeted and shown to our reserved table promptly. The waiter was very engaging and attentive. The cocktails a nice pour. Everyone in the group seemed to enjoy their food choices. My husband and I enjoyed the surf and turf special. Started with a fresh delicious salad. The entree was amazing. The view on the second floor is stunning. From start to finish this was an outstanding dining experience. We will return soon. p.s. just curious if there is disabled access to the upstairs dining room?

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner when we visited Peddler's Village. It is across the street from one end of the village. I had the french onion soup and seafood cavatappi which were tasty. There was a good amount of seafood in the cavatappi! Portion sizes were good. The restaurant has a cozy ambience. There is a parking lot. Our waitress was attentive and helpful.

Yelp
We walked out before even sitting down at the allocated table. We have finally had enough of the sheer, boorish, rude grossness of the man who works the front desk. We have reluctantly tolerated his bluntness and rudeness in the past because we enjoyed the food and good service ... however; today was just the last straw. We received a lecture in a loud authoritative and petulant voice about the correct procedure for making a proper 24-hours in advance "reservation" and our same day "call forward". We had obviously displeased him. Nobody needs to be subjected to this level of sheer disgusting hostility. I am astonished that any dining establishment tolerates their clientele being talked to in this fashion. Disgusting!

Yelp
First time here on a Sat night before going to new hope winery. Everything was fantastic!! Sat at the bar, and the vibe was great and friendly!! Bartenders were fantastic and food was great with a huge and varied menu. I had crab cake sandwich and my boyfriend had the grouper sandwich. Both were delicious!! Will def be back!!

Yelp
Try the filet mignon sandwich! For value it can't be beat. Delicious. Service was blistering fast and they seated us upstairs and the view of the winery was breathtaking.

Yelp
My friends and I had reservations on Friday, May 30th. We asked for round table by window. Upon arriving, we were told there wasn't any notation on our reservation. We look at our requested table that had menus and water poured, so we thought it was ours, so we started walking to the table. With that, the waitress calls the manager who apologize that there was no notation on the reservation. Okay, that being said again where is our table? We had to wait for them to set up round table in back of dinning room. We told management if that table sat empty while we had dinner, we would let them know when we left. The server was nice, food fine and of course my friends and I celebrating 45 plus years of friendship had a great time. Having dessert and getting our check we saw our requested table FINALLY have 4 people seated, and WAITING FOR THE REST or maybe it was only a party of 4. Still seeing menus and water on table since 5:30, that was our table!!!! Upon leaving we let the management know the our table sat empty most of the time we were there. Their response was, we never asked for round table by window, (although they apologized when we came in that that was noted) we threaten their waitress (when) and told us not to come back. No worries we won't be back!!!! My question is if we threaten their waitress, why did they seat us? As I see now in other reviews, this place needs a lesson in people skills and manners!

Yelp
We dine at the Porterhouse at least twice a year ( mostly around the holidays). I never had a bad meal. Last night was the exception are meals were incredible. The was one snafu over missing salad dressing (opps). The service that we received was exceptional the error was immediately corrected. When arriving we were seated promptly ( though the hostess/greeter was using her device not a great first impression) offered a choice of table, our server greeted us quickly (Stephen?). Our order was quickly taken, served we were checked that the orders were satisfactory ( they were). It was a wonderful night out our server was attentive without going overboard in other words perfect. Payment was fast even with a split form of payment. When leaving we were thanked and wished a Merry Christmas..

Yelp
The place to eat when visiting peddlers village! Just a block outside of the main village worth it - better food and views! This is a gem, you're going to get a absolutely terrific meal here very satisfying at an affordable cost! Also I recommend getting a table on the second floor overlooking the fields behind the restaurant, stunning views! Yes this is not located in the heart of peddler's Village it's just about a half a block outside of it. Totally worth it and where are you should go after shopping. We got in our car and drove there and parked and ate before going home. So glad we did that! Top service, top atmosphere, and the best food in the area! I really loved my grouper sandwich very delicious and huge generous piece of fish. Also the pulled pork sandwich was to die for! Make sure you leave some time to walk to the back of the parking lot and take in the beautiful views behind the restaurant of the trees and fields! This is where I recommend you go for dinner when visiting peddlers village for the day. You might want to drive there it's very close by and you can eat there on your way home or on your way to the hotel! Trust me on this one, make your reservations here!

Yelp
Lovely restaurant with delicious food! My family and I were there on a very busy Saturday night during the holidays and we had great service! I had the Maytag filet and while I think they put wayyyy too much blue cheese (I love blue cheese too..) it was perfectly cooked and my Caesar was excellent as well. My boyfriend got the grouper and it was so well cooked, buttery and delicious!! Sister & Dad had the crab cakes and they were huge and filled with delicious crab. I even think it's fairly priced, especially for the location, I've been to other nearby restaurants not half as good with much higher prices on filet and fish!

Yelp
Multi-floor nice restaurant with very good food and friendly service. Plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere.

Yelp
I wish I could give a higher rating, but a multitude of small missteps was enough to limit my consideration of this establishment to just "OK". Upstairs has a beautiful view, having a window table makes a difference! Our service was adequate and friendly - that's about the extent of it, small service errors that weren't egregious enough to complain about, but it did impact the overall experience. For lunch, there are table cloths to provide a more elegant feel, but considering our table had a tablecloth with VERY noticeable stains and some other foreign material sort of does an entire 180 on the ambience feel they were going for. Food was good. I had a ribeye steak sandwich which was 90% good - the tail of the steak with a LOT of fat and gristle was left on and the last few bites were a challenge. My dining partner's salad was excellent. Overall - just OK. This place has been around for years, it seems many of the employees have as well, and I'm not sure if the environment is just set in its ways or I hit them on a bad day?

Brian D.

Yelp
We had dinner at the Porterhouse last night. Being very close to Christmas and right across from Peddlers Village it was absolutely packed, many people waiting when we entered and just as many when we left. Yet the service was very prompt, professional and very friendly. Out server was great and so were all the other staff that came to our table. We've eaten there a number of times in the past and the food has always been good and last night was no exception. Four different entrees and all four people were very happy with their meal. Also, the parking valets outside were very friendly and very fast. We'll keep going back there every year.

Teresa M.

Yelp
This was a great experience! We were at Peddlers Village and stopped at Porterhouse Pub for a late dinner. The host was very nice. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The menu for food and drink selection was great. Our soup and salad can out quickly. The Onion Soup was hot and delicious. My house salad was a generous portion for a side and the blue cheese dressing was good. My Chicken Capellini was very good and the portion was large enough to allow for lunch leftovers. My husband's filet sandwich was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun. This was a great find and we will definitely be back! Thanks for a fantastic experience!

Lacey W.

Yelp
Delicious harvest salad and my brother always gets the Delmonico Steak Pittsburgh style and that too was phenomenal! Service is great as well! Ambiance is nice.

Yelp
This is the best place to eat when visiting peddlers village! The bartenders are great; they make amazing drinks, service always comes with a smile and they are attentive. The food here is really good as well, the salads are great and large servings. I love that you can get the sandwiches switched to a wrap and their sweet potato fries are crispy and delicious. This is just a great place; great food, great service, great drinks and all provided in a very pretty and relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a fabulous restaurant! Had the white cosmo and I am still thinking about that drink a week later. The turkey Rachel was great and I didn't even get a stomach ache which is huge for me!

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Nice staff members very kind. Amazing ambiance nice for a upscale bar. The upstairs is a nice go to place for lunch or dinner. Manager was not very helpful with my complaints at all very unprofessional

Yelp
Service was very bad Food was just ok had to send back food Replacement was better just wanted to go bad vibe in this place

Yelp
Giving this place two stars only for the drinks we had and the sweet waitress assigned to our table. The food wasn't great. We were told initially we needed a reservation for Saturday December 16 because they were booked solid, but could squeeze us in at 3pm. We arrived at the designated time and there were lots of empty tables. We didn't want a large meal and only ordered the pierogi and the chicken dip & chips. We also ordered two adult beverages. The dip was lackluster and needed more Parmesan cheese for flavor. The corn tortilla chips were overcooked and brown. We each ate one chip, and only ate the dip. The pierogi were terrible. These are not pierogi everyone is familiar with. The dough was bready and baked, crumbly and underfilled. You are served 5. They need to revisit their recipe for the pierogi and make them more traditional.

Yelp
Beautiful view! Excellent service! Grouper was amazing! Husband had a steak also very good!!
google avatar

Valerie H.

Yelp
My husband and I go that restaurant three to four times a year. We love coming here (from the Jersey shore) and always order the salads. The food always meet our expectations, but mostly, we always ask for Colleen as our waitress. We just love her. She is kind, attentive, and very professional. She treats the customers as if they were guests at her home. She knows what food we want, our drinks, and she knows when to refill. The front desk staff is also very friendly, and for the most part, over floor staff are very good too. But if you go there, ask for Colleen and you won't be disappointed. Keep in mind the restaurant tends to be busy on weekends, so you may have to wait longer for your food. But otherwise, the food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the service is what you would want it to be. And one more thing, ask for a table upstairs by the windows, the view is amazing.

Yelp
Came here during lunch to celebrate mine and my aunts birthday. First time coming here and I am in love! We had a beautiful view from our table which overlooked a large flower filled field. Since we were in Peddlers Village I was expecting to pay a lot for our meals however our bill was so low! My uncle ordered a glass of Cabernet with his crab cake sandwich. I ordered a coffee, glass of rosé, and a brisket sandwich. And my aunt ordered a cosmopolitan with her fish sandwich. Everything came out to a little over $85! Not bad at all! Our server was very friendly and made sure we were happy with our lunches. Food portions were huge and the desserts were even bigger! I would definitely come here again when I'm in town! 10 out of 10!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is our go-to restaurant when my wife and I visit Peddlers Village. They have a big bar area on the first floor, which can get loud at busy times, and a nice dining room, much quieter, on the second floor with lots of window views. We have tried several items on the main menu and the specials and always been pleased. Drink selections are great and friendly service each time is a plus. Parking is easy and you avoid the busy Peddlers crowds. It's best to make a reservation.
google avatar

Robin C.

Yelp
First visit and we had a wonderful experience! They have a variety of seating areas- inside on ground level in bar area, upstairs in dining room, outside... We were blessed to be upstairs next to the windows that overlook a beautiful nursery. Kelly was our server and she was very attentive. We had the onion soup and it was ONE OF THE BEST we have had, and we routinely order at restaurants. The broth was dark and flavorful! Hubs had the brisket sandwich and it was massive! Very good quality. I had the spicy ginger chicken appetizer and it was great. The chicken pieces were decent and not breaded. It was served with blue cheese coleslaw... AMAZING!!!!!! I am very pleased we chose to take a chance and have dinner here.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is consistently good. The service was impeccable and good value for the price. Nice place for family and friend to gather.

Bernd N.

Yelp
My Wife and I went there with friend's for the first time. The service was ok, friendly and responsive. We did not expect a 5 star dinner, but the clams, salmon burger and flatbread we ordered were absolutely below acceptable. My salmon burger was dry like a cardboard and also tasted like it. The clams were tasteless and overcooked. The flatbread was way too soaky and overloaded with cheese.... simply disgusting. I truly can say we have been there twice.... the first and the last time.

Yelp
Stopped at the porterhouse that my son's future father-in-law suggested after a day of driving through the back roads of Bucks County, there were five of us and we were seated upstairs, this was about 1230 on Saturday afternoon, we all ordered different burgers that came with fries and was very filling, we had a couple of beers each with no complaints at all from the service, Staff was friendly and efficient

Donna W.

Yelp
Fantastic service and good food the people who work there are all friendly and always happy love my experience there every time I go
google avatar

Yelp
Another 5 star review for this local spot. I really can't say enough that the porterhouse salad is THE SALAD TO GET! I caved and got a large opposite of my previous review to go small always as the loophole, but it's so good. Recently got into the soup and on a cold day, it's a must add. Photos have no filter, that's straight deliciousness

Yelp
AWESOME! Great place. Great Atmosphere! Great Service, Ask for Amanda! Great Food! A winner all around!

Yelp
I have visited Porterhouse several times, both for lunch and dinner, and always had the best food, service, and overall experience! Whether you are dining upstairs for a relaxing meal (and great view!), or hanging downstairs at the bar to watch your favorite sports teams (Go Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers!), Porterhouse never disappoints! Their portions are huge, and certainly worth the price, so you will not go home hungry (and will have plenty of leftovers to enjoy the next day!). Also shoutout to the amazing staff who go out of their way to ensure every customer leaves with a smile on their face and full stomach! Thank you Porterhouse, I am already looking forward to coming back for my next meal! :)

Yelp
Loved this wonderful place and it saved our evening. After a somewhat frustrating search for a restaurant, in Peddlers Village, that was still taking people on wait list after 7pm, we had this (off-property, but walkable) restaurant on our reserve list and shifted to it. Not only were they able to accommodate us, but the food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. Had a meatloaf sandwich which I haven't stopped talking about since my first bite. This will now be our go-to dinner spot on next trips to the area. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
We went here for our anniversary dinner and to say I wasn't impressed would be an understatement. Our waitress was RUDE!!!! She came over in like .5 seconds of us sitting down and asked us for our meal order. We did order an appetizer ( potato nachos) and before we could ask for no jalapeños she was gone. We barley got our sentence out. Turn she didn't come back for like a HALF HOUR! Our appetizer came out before she came back to take our entree order. We didn't even have silverware yet. When she realized we didn't have any ( in the middle of me ordering my entree btw) she cuts me off and had a mad fit about us not having silverware. Then she finished taking our order. The food was the only saving grace this place had. The nachos were ok. They came out piping hot and tasted great! I Ordered the crab crusted steak and OMG soooo good!! I was sad that I found several shells in my crab though. My husband ordered the fish and chips and was under impressed as it was not as described on the menu. I unfortunately do not think we will be back.

Nancy W.

Yelp
Great Service , very warm atmosphere. Would definitely go back . The prices were reasonable and we enjoyed our Filet Mignon. Enjoyed it!

Yelp
I can not believe that today was my first visit to this place.I have been wanting to go here forever and I wish I had after a great lunch today. It is very nice and the second floor has a beautiful view of valley. Burger was great, buffalo chicken sandwich awesome & fried chicken sandwich was super tasty. I also had to try the onion soup after reading reviews and I am glad I did. Very good and loaded with onions with a pumpernickel bread on top that gave it a unique taste that worked well. Tried the gold rush wing sauce and it was so delicious I can't wait to go back and try some wings! Have the feeling it will be in the very near future!

Angie M.

Yelp
If I could leave zero stars I would!!!!! Coming from someone who works in the service industry the service was horrible from the server. She came over in an angry manner each time by our table. Slammed down appetizers plates. Failed at checking for refills or asking how the food was. Didn't water our table when water glasses were empty. Came in at 1:40 and everything took a long time. Had to track her down several times. Food was mediocre.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed overnight in Lahaska again, and went back to Portherhouse Restaurant a second time. The first time was 11 months ago. The 2nd time, the food was absolutely delicious once again. The desserts are sooo good. The next time we visit we will eat at this restaurant for the 3rd time, and I'm sure it will be delicious again. Our server, Sean M. was an amazing server. The whole dinner was fabulous, and the restaurant is really pretty. (We were in the upstairs room.) If you are in the Peddler's village area, you must go to the restaurant. You will be very happy that you did.

Yelp
First time. Crowded Holiday weekend. Appetizer Shrimp Cocktail was 4 medium marinated shrimp. Nothing special and certainly not crisp and cold. We had the Salmon and Scallops. And the special, Chicken Benvenuto (or something to that effect) The Salmon was delicious. A generous portion and perfectly broiled. The scallops were very small, and over cooked. The Chicken was barely edible. Very greasy with an assortment of mushy vegetables on top. Rice was dry and flavorless on both plates. Great bread. Drinks were good as well. Service appropriate for as busy as they were. Restaurant itself was over tabled and very warm. Loud.

Yelp
Just popped in for a quick dinner. Ordered the seafood special. Baked cod topped w/sautéed spinach and mushrooms served with a coconut fried rice. OMG! This was simply fantastic (over month ago) Cod was light, flaky and buttery and well seasoned. Just melt in your mouth. Probably one of the best cod dishes I've had and my sales territory includes New England. The spinach and mushrooms were also sautéed perfectly. Well seasoned. The spinach had some consistency left and the mushrooms were not cooked to rubber. Such a great topping for the cod. I'm dieting, so I only tasted the coconut fried rice. Great flavor. Well cooked rice. Also was a good side for the cod.
