What a disappointment. We're locals, and have dined at the Porterhouse many many times in the past, most of them good experiences. Entertaining out of town company, we went there on a Friday night so we made an early reservation (5:30pm) and requested a window table upstairs. We got there (mandatory valet parking) and the hostess took us upstairs. When I asked earlier about a window table, she said "I believe so", we got up the stairs and there were about 4 open tables next to the windows - great! She took us to one that had a huge rooftop a/c unit filling the entire window. Really? After I requested a window table, you're thinking it wasn't for the view but rather I wanted to look at some industrial hardware? We pointed to one of the other open tables next to the windows and she took us to one of them. Jason was our server - he was the only redeeming feature of the evening, his service was awesome and took care of us very well. We ordered and Jason returned shortly with our salads and soups. We were maybe 1/2 way through our salads when the entrees came to the table - first time I have been there and felt rushed - so they try to fit large plates next to our salad plates and bread plates and even suggested if they could take some of the other smaller plates away to make some room - well, we're not done yet with our salads! Jason apologized that the entrees came out so quickly, obviously not his fault, but it was another blight on our evening. I ordered the 10oz Maytag Filet - medium rare. When I cut into it, it was very rare, looks like it could have stayed on the fire for another 5 minutes or so (which was ironic considering how quickly the entrees came out to our table). Jason was busy, the rest of my table were eating their meals, so I just started in on this very rare piece of meat. When Jason eventually came over to ask how everything was, I pointed out the cook on the steak, he immediately offered to take it back so the kitchen can put it back on the fire, I told him no, I didn't want to sit there while everyone else was finishing up only to have my meal return when they were all done - I'll just take the steak home and will nuke it. Leaving, the valet pulled up our car, jumped out and grabbed his tip from me and then leaned against the valet stand to look at his phone and pulled out his vape pen to his mouth. 3 women with me, he couldn't open the other doors for them? So that was our Friday night at the Porterhouse. We used to recommend it highly to friends and new friends who ask for a good place to eat in our area - I'm afraid that is changing now. We just didn't feel like valued customers.
