Portillo's serves up Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches in a retro-chic spot, perfect for a casual bite and that famous cake shake.
"Portillo’s, a Chicago street food chain with around 80 locations in 10 states, is collaborating with Milk Bar to create the Portillo’s Chocolate Cake Cookie, available starting October 8. The cookie is inspired by Portillo’s famous chocolate cake, known from Season 1 of The Bear." - Ashok Selvam
"Portillo’s also was there as the social media strategists wanted a piece." - Ashok Selvam
"At Portillo’s, you can top your beef with a hefty, unorthodox portion of melted mozzarella or cheddar cheese. The gravy is a fragrant mix of oregano, black pepper, garlic and cayenne. The beef soaks up all that flavor while it cooks." - ByXimena N. Beltran Quan Kiu
"Portillo’s can be a daunting place, especially the flagship River North location. Don’t be distracted by the 87 different lines, multiple menus, pictures, paraphernalia on the wall, and people screaming across the massive space. Instead, find the Portillo’s Hot Dogs line (not Barnelli’s) and order what Portillo’s is known for: Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef. Both are solid , though the Italian beef comes with thicker-than-average slices of meat that’s kind of bland and dry, even when ordered wet. And not ordering a piece of Portillo’s chocolate cake would be a mistake. photo credit: Azuree Wiitala photo credit: Azuree Wiitala photo credit: Azuree Wiitala photo credit: Azuree Wiitala photo credit: Azuree Wiitala" - Veda Kilaru
"Sales are up at Portillo’s, the suburban Chicago chain with a die-hard fanbase. But profits are down as the costs of food have surged for all restaurants." - Ashok Selvam
