Another fantastic win for dinner. This is a newer fast food restaurant in our area and this had been on our food bucket list for quite a while, I just wanted to wait until the dining room was available and they worked out the bugs. And, yes, I also coincidentally watched The Bear this summer, so I was very ready to try the famous beef sandwich and gravy (au jus sauce). Worth the hype, absolutely yes! It was amazing! We loved the aesthetic inside the dining room, like a retro throw-back that gave amusement park themed restaurant vibes, really fun. I liked how organized the counters were, one to order, one for pickup, and one for dessert. The people working here were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Last year when I originally looked at the menu I honestly wanted to order one of everything, but I did hold back on our first trip here.
We got the beef and cheddar on baguettes with gravy an hot gardinere on the side. We also got a beef and sausage on a baguette and an order of crinkle cut fries. The bread was perfect and the beef flavorful. The sausage was good and would taste great on a pizza. The gravy or au jus was extremely tasty and not only tasted great with the sandwich but on the fries. It was a pretty good price for the smaller size which was big enough to have leftovers (also tasted amazing the next day).
We also treated ourselves to some dessert. We got a chocolate shake and strawberry lemon cake shake. They were so thick, we ate them with spoons. Honestly, that is how I like my shakes, thick like ice cream, not liquidy. It was reminiscent of when it was near impossible to sip a Mc Donald's shake through a straw. We also tried the chocolate eclair cake, which was moist and creamy and delicious with amazing chocolate ganache frosting.
Funny thing about this place, it was better and more cost effective than a more upscale restaurant we visited lately. It provided a better value, and the food tasted fresher and hotter. I liked that they had such a large and diverse menu. Besides the sausages and beef sandwiches, they had salads, chicken, burgers, and even plant based meats which I do eat often, so I appreciate the option. But I am not sure I would personally stray from their classics, they were so good, I know I will be craving them soon and rush back over.
