A summer evening market in historic Kenton with live music and a street‑fair feel near the MAX line. Regularly included in trusted roundups, it’s perfect for midweek produce and snacks while exploring the neighborhood’s small businesses.

So I stumbled and fell and a vendor in the Guatemalan booth found three strapping lads to help me brace so I could stand up. Not pull me up, just provide support. That right there is what our neighborhood farmer market is all about, neighbors. Best farmer market in Portland. Not too big. Great parking. Restaurants nearby. Beautiful variety and selection. Double SNAP dollars. Great education programs for kids. Such an excellent Wednesday afternoon.

This market hits several points for me. 1. It's small, so you can get a good survey of what's available quickly before buying anything. 2. There are several vegetable and fruit vendors, and they make up the majority. I think that's what farmer's market are for, and it's sad when they're super full of prepared foods and arts and crafts, which are nice and cool but I don't think should be the main focus. 3. Surrounded by other good things to eat and drink. 4. Local. This market is 10 minutes by car or 20 by bike from where I live, which means I can easily stop by after work and shopping here can be as convenient as a grocery store. 5. Schedule. Finally a midweek, evening farmer's market! So many markets are on weekends, which is great but I usually miss them because I go out of town a lot on weekends, or during regular business hours (what's up with 9am-12pm markets? Who even has time to go to them?). Thank you thank you for being in the evening! Needless to say, I'll be frequenting this market.

Awesome neighborhood farmers market. Is smaller than some of the others (ie PSU) as it's 2 blocks long but has live music and a food vendor. There are the staple vendors then a few that rotate out.

Cute little market! Much easier to shop than at larger markets. The florist made amazing bouquets. Just a handful of shops but you can buy baked goods, fresh vegetables, meat etc. Everything you may need. There was no prepared food at the market but there are several restaurants around it. We like Casa Maya and Fino!

The highlight of this farmers market is hands down Camellia Pistrina! Her all vegan pastries are incredible with unique flavors we've never had before. Such as Rose Genmaicha Tea Cake and Earl Grey Strawberry Shortbread Cookie! The flavors in them are deep and rich, whereas other desserts are simply sweet. Her pastries invoke a cottage house on a warm evening. She is so eloquent when speaking about her flavor combinations and the thought she puts into different tea cake recipes. Our favorite is the Desi Chai Tea Cake. A lot of her options are gluten free as well. Do not be intimidated from how elaborate the flavors sound, because we assure you that your tongue will find its appreciation to be simple. They're straightforwardly delicious.

Small market, about a block or so long. Limited # of vendors but fits into the Kenton vibe. Had a fun Latino band playing that day - enjoyed the music. We bought some fruit, veggies, and sampled a local distillery. Also had a flower vendor there with some nice, inexpensive bouquets. Would go back for the fruit and flowers and maybe something from the distillery at least.

Yelp
Great weekday market each Wednesday with organic vegetables and fruits. Lots of vendors for a small market. Easy to find parking and near my neighborhood library, I love getting produce and eggs here. It's always a quick stop with friendly service. Great neighborhood vibe.

Yelp
Love the small Kenton Market on Wednesdays. Perfect location, quiet but lots of vendor choices especially the honey guy and Scratch Meats. I like that they support smaller farms. And nice to be on the corner of Kenton Station Pub to get a beer. I would like more tables for eating at the market since you can't bring outside food to the Pub's table. Music is super chill, also.

Yelp
I can't believe no one has found this farmer's market (FM), although to be fair this is only their second year running, and they're still getting working on growing their size and popularity (I saw about 12 booths there last Friday). It's at the corner of Denver and McClelllan St, just off of Interstate Ave. They have the standard mix of local farmers, bakers, salsa-makers, and yes, even a Scoops Ice Cream cart that's perfect for a hot summer's day!!! I especially like having another location to get delicious and cheap apples from the local Kiyokawa orchard (they are great for eating raw as well as drying into apple chips!) I probably won't go here much because I live so far away, but it's nice to know it's there in case I'm in the area (which will be more frequent now that I know Cason's Meat Market is just across the street for my BBQ needs :-) I hope the neighborhood really takes to this idea and helps it grow into a thriving FM that rivals the likes of the Hollywood or Woodstock versions. Once they get one or two large -scale farm stands that offer ALL the veggies you might need (including lettuce, kale, peppers, cucumbers, onions, zucchini, corn, etc), I think they'll really pick up in popularity.

Yelp
Don't let its size, or the very fact that it's the city's smallest farmers market fool you... This is one of the finest collections of food artisans and farmers I have ever seen assembled in such a small space. Well played Portland; well played.
