I was staying near this farmer’s market for a while and it was such a great market. I would usually take my favorite dog ever with me :) and we would both have a great time. Best rose matcha latte and amazing food too! So many fresh veggies and fruits!

On a bright sunny September day, I decided to head over to this neighborhood farmers market. It was a lovely and pleasant. There were many vendors with different offerings. I found delicious, very fresh vegetables like broccoli and an amazing, enormous celery! The heirloom tomatoes and yellow bell peppers were outstanding as well. I picked out a pretty bouquet of dahlias from a wide array of mixed flowers at the floral vendor. The owners were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. As a first time visitor to the city of Portland, I imagined it to be funky, cloudy and weird, similar to the hilariously odd series, Portlandia. What I encountered was a lush, gorgeous, garden of eden sort of city. The record stores were funky and the coffee shops cleverly superb. Then there was the vegetarian food! The absolute best I have ever eaten! I returned on October 1st, 2023 to find the same friendly, helpful people and super fresh produce. This time I picked up a gorgeous cauliflower, tasted then bought a couple of chocolate bell peppers (which were delicious and sweet). Who can resist the absolutely stunning dahlias which were abundant as always.. My all time favorite flower!

Small but diverse farmer's market with a good combination of produce and produced goods. Strong prepared food options. Family and dog friendly.

Fun place lots of choices for fresh from the farm items. Meat and veggies as well fresh made cheese. Better prices then the big box stores for fresh certified organic food.

Google
GREAT farmers market, beautiful produce and high quality vendors. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Small Baking Co. made the best galette I have ever tasted!

Google
A truly excellent farmers market that has everything even though it's not that big. It also runs a lot later than many others. You do, also, have the opportunity here to pay $40 for a single chicken!

Google
Such a lovely little farmer's market. Big enough to get what you need - without being overwhelmed by crowds. Hot food and coffee also available for purchase! Fantastic fresh veggies, plants, fermented yummies, so much goodness to choose from!

Google
It was my first time at this one and it was amazing especially during this time because of COVID-19. Everybody was wearing masks and social distancing was taken and stand picked out your produce from what you said and one stand you got to pick your own. There was a wonderful bakery stand with lemon glazed molasses cookies and brown butter banana bread and one stand had delish onion poppyseed buns. The thing that I liked most was that there was 4 or more stands that had ORGANIC produce/used ORGANIC flours and sold ORGANIC meat which is why i will be coming here until it ends. It was the best farmers market I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot.

Yelp
Easily my favorite farmers market for fresh veggies and fruits. They accept EBT conversion and are always extremely kind. My personal favorite booths are the bakery and farms that hold the market together!! There are a couple of restaurant options which are all delish with the famous breakfast sandwiches. This isn't a huge market but it is a great spot for kids and this that ride bikes to farmers markets. Love this spot !!

Yelp
I really loved this Farmers Market, even though it was quite small compared to my local market. They offered a lot more food products for people with dietary restrictions. Hey Babe - offered a good cashew cheez. Rangoon Bistro - AMAZING!!! I love Burmese food, we tried two of their dishes, both were FANTASTIC, but spicy! I still ate it, it was so good. I found their pricing to be unique, they asked for $4-$10 per dish. I was very confused at first when they asked me what would you like to pay? I was like, huh?? They said do to Covid, as many our out of work, so they have a sliding scale, $4 is probably their break-even point, and $10 is probably their normal profit point. When he saw my look of confusion even after the explanation, he said how about $8, I said great! I think they have an AWESOME business model especially during this pandemic. Kate's Plant-based ice cream (vegan) - OMG, absolutely the best dairy-free ice cream I have ever had!!!! I really couldn't even tell it was dairy-free. If only they were local to me. I would be eating their ice cream every day!!!! I was super happy to find this farmers market, being both gluten-free and dairy-free can be hard and this place was perfect for me.

Yelp
super small market. i thought there was going to be a bunch of produce, but instead it was more like small shops. the prices were high too

Yelp
As I could not make it to the famed PSU market, for the limited time I was visiting Portland, King seemed to be my best option. Running Sundays from 10-2, this small market features an impressive variety and selection for its size: Missionary Chocolates, Spiritopia Liquors, various food vendors including bakers, coffee, and such, fresh flowers (all the dahlias!), and several produce stands, one of which sold the best dang crispy tart apples I have ever eaten (I didn't get the name of the apples OR the seller, curses!). Both fellow shoppers and vendors were friendly and kind, everyone seeming to enjoy themselves. Parking was pretty challenging (surprise, surprise), but we eventually found a spot, and it was not too terribly far. This is really a neighborhood farmers market, but I had a great time (and wish I lived in the area so I could shop here with regularity).

Yelp
One of my favorite memories from my first time in Portland is THIS! This charming local farmer's market was open even though it was raining, and we had a great time walking from tent to tent, sampling heaps of great food -melons, jams, pickles-, enjoying breakfast crepes watching a live band playing music, and just soaking up the relaxed atmosphere. I would happily go back.

Samantha R.

Yelp
I love coming here when I can't make it to the PSU one (or feel to overwhelmed to) - it's not too big, not too small and have they just about everything you could need from a farmer's market.
google avatar

McKena M.

Yelp
Although much smaller than PSU's farmers market, this market is much less overwhelming and has all the things you need. There's produce, bread, cheese, jams, salsas, and even homemade ramen noodles that you can keep in your fridge! You can also get something to eat while you shop around, my favorite being the delicious breakfast burritos from Enchanted Sun Breakfast Burritos. It's $6.50 for a bacon and sausage burrito and it's delicious! Pro tip - Remember to bring cash, as there is no ATM here. Also, given that this is a smaller market, don't expect to spend that much time here. It normally takes me around around 45 minutes to an hour to look at the different goods.

Yelp
Where's the stuff? This is a fairly puny farmers' market. Approximately a dozen vendors were present when we visited today and it took about five minutes to peruse all of the wares. We didn't find the blackberries we were looking for, but there were some nice artichokes and peaches. My wife usually loads me down like a pack mule whenever we go to a farmers' market. We only had one little bag from this one--heck, she even carried to the car herself! Not the best farmers' market in this burg.
google avatar

JW R.

Yelp
Now, I'm not saying they should ban kids here, but once they make the Bobos leave their freaking dogs at home (a la the PSU one) they should restrict the size of stroller yuppie breeders can bring in. There's no ATM and the musical "entertainment" is uniformly terrible. The goods are good, just as they always are at Farmer's markets. There's plenty of space between the rows of tents, too. If only the damn dog owning parents around here would let other people use it.

Yelp
Yay for this farmers' market! I always need an alternative to Saturday morning markets, as I tend to be recovering from a week of teenagers that day and can do little else besides surf the internet and dream of summer. This market was so great that I will be back with bells on! In response to Brandon B., we did notice that someone was at the entrance telling people to keep their dogs "on a tight leash". All the dogs were in heaven, lunging after every scrumptious smell and getting quickly jerked back. There were cheese stands, home-made pasta stands, seafood vendors, two or three of the best organic farm vendors, jams, local meats, chocolates, apples, and so much more, plus food vendors with crepes, tamales, pulled pork, and this amazing breakfast burrito with green chile scrambled eggs, spicy potatoes, cheddar, and outstanding salsa. I'll be back for that as fast as I can. Summer in Portland rocks!

Yelp
The newest addition to the Portland Farmers Market, this one has a extra-laid back feel to it. Maybe it's the lawn area and lot's of lunch stuff and music? S.U. and I returned to pick up some of the best (and inexpensive) smoked king salmon I've ever found at a PFM. This vendor also has salmon steaks and roasts. Unfortunately he only shows every other Sunday so we had to wait two weeks to come back. I was also told that there were fresh oysters but each time I went off to try and find them I got distracted by the 'show'. Aw shucks! We'll have to come back in two weeks!

Yelp
Small, sort of no-frills as farmers' markets go, but has a little bit of everything at a reasonable price! Fruit and veggie vendors, grass fed meats, amazing pickles, jams, cheeses, eggs, etc. Special shout out to the delicious breakfast burrito stand with the really friendly staff. This market, and I gather some of the others, has a cool program where if you use your Oregon Trail card (Oregon's food stamps), they give you up to $5 in free spending $. It's meant to make farm-direct food more accessible to lower-income residents in the area. Having never seen this elsewhere, I was impressed. Also worth noting- some of the vendors (esp meats) take credit cards directly. But for those who don't, you can use your credit or debit card to buy as many 'tokens' as you want, which spend like cash. There is a small fee, I believe $2, for doing this, totally worth the convenience.

Yelp
This market is small and simple. You can get bread, meat, seafoods, flowers, produce, cheeses, honey, jams, pickled things, coffee, even wine. Prices are pretty darn reasonable for most things. There is live music, a crepe stand, other foods to eat on the spot, and if you're lucky you can lay on a nearby hill and watch a kickball game. Highlight: biggest radishes I've ever seen here. Super fresh, spcicy, and yummy.

Yelp
Come right at opening (10am) or be prepared to be overrun by yuppies (kids in tow) and hippies. This is my 'hood and my local market (you won't see me rolling up in Prius, I'm on foot), and I get there as they ring the bell to let you know it's on. Overall, it's a decent market with good variety and quality. I don't recommend doing the bulk of your veggie shopping here, as you'll honestly find better quality and much better prices at New Seasons, etc, but the food and product vendors are top notch. Do yourself a favor: get an Enchanted Sun Breakfast burrito (pro-tip: order like a regular, say "regular burrito, salsa inside" - you won't be disappointed), and think twice about going if the clock at home says 11am or after.

Yelp
While it gets its name from the school parking lot it occupies, I can testify that this market really is the King of Portland Farmer's Markets. It is large enough to offer pretty much everything you are going to get at any other market in town, but small enough to keep the crowds away. While I am not 100% positive, it seems you can still bring your pets here (not that anyone seems to obey that no pets rule at PSU anyway). As aforementioned it has a very "neighborhoodie" vibe and many of the people I have seen there do seem to have walked. This gives ample space for parking to any of those og you, like myself, that do not live walking distance from this market. Also, it is open on Sundays which is really why I happened upon it in the first place. I can't always get out to do the produce getting thing on Saturdays.

Yelp
This review isn't really about the market ... the market seemed lovely enough but it was raining and thus uncrowded ... this is really about Unbound Pickling- yum, yum, and then yum some more: http://unboundpickling.com/ Truly lovely pickled goods ... especially the beets and pickles. I am going to be better prepared next trip and really stock up.

Yelp
This market is so close to my house, so I've been a regular every week since it opened on May 1st. There is a good selection of booths, including my personal favorite: Missionary Chocolates (vegan chocolate!). The live music is always enjoyable to listen to while you're standing in line to purchase goods.
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Bike friendliest farmer's market in town. Sometimes, there is even a guy who repairs bikes. Fresh veggies, not too crowded. TAMALES. Crepes. Sol Pops. Ruby Jewels. Random Order baked goods. The best part is that it really isn't too crowded. The other farmer's markets can be too overwhelming. Also, it seems like the same people go every week. Its very neighborhoodie. I love it. I don't know what I will do when it stops on October 25th.

Yelp
I love this market. I love bringing my kid and my dogs to this market. I love the farmers at this market. To JW R, did you forget you were a kid once? What a self centered SOB.
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Pretty average. There is an arm on site, produce, crepes, flowers etc. normal things you see at every farmers market. I feel like it's only the people who live in the surrounding houses and small neighborhood who actually go, which isn't a bad thing.

Yelp
I love this little neighborhood farmers market. It has a little of everything, great food, beautiful plants, and delicious produce.

Yelp
Before we had a market in St Johns, this was my fail safe. They always have great stuff and it is excellent people watching.

Yelp
I've just been once but was very impressed. Medium sized -- big enough for variety and to get what you need, but now overwhelming like PSU. What particularly impressed me was the free coffee and snacks (including hard-boiled organic eggs!) they gave out at the information booth. They also seemed to have kids activities on hand, like coloring. Very thoughtful.

KC E.

Yelp
We look forward to a trip to the market each week. The veggies are divine, from our favorite local organic farms. There's a bread vendor, several cheese vendors, a butcher, wine, food stands, mushrooms, and lots of fruit (although sadly not organic fruit). Plus Missionary Chocolates, which is worth a visit on its own. Why go to a grocery store when we have such a treasure each Sunday in our neighborhood?!

Lindley E.

Yelp
This PFM needs to update their website...dogs are NOT allowed. I went here last Sunday and every entrance has "service animals only" posted so I did not go. Allowing service animals is the law and does not make you dog friendly.

Yelp
Like others have said, the King farmer's market is small, but has pretty much everything I want to buy. Which is wonderful, because the Saturday FM downtown can be a little overwhelming. Also I am lazy and this is a short walk from home. Beautiful produce, farm fresh eggs, Missionary chocolates, baked goods, cheese, breakfast burritos. Would really appreciate a better coffee vendor, but I live with one, so regardless of that, I love having this market in my neighborhood!

Yelp
Loving my King Portland Farmers Market! Coming up are 2 things I don't plan on missing. One is the Build-a-Burger BBQ on July 1st (10am to 2pm) where, for a small donation they grill and you build your own DELISH burger using all kinds of toppings from the market- and the other is the Ask an Expert fair on July 15th- a homesteading info fair about raising chickens, growing food at home, beekeeping and more.
