Porto Scoutari | Best places to stay in Patmos

"Dressed in white, with four poster beds and fine antique furniture, the suites at Porto Scoutari are among the most stylish and spacious on Patmos. The 34-key hotel is spread across four low-rise wings built amphitheatrically above Meloi bay, so it never feels crowded. A tranquil, heart-shaped pool, small spa and gym are set in well-maintained gardens studded with palm trees. The chapel in the grounds and romantic ambience make this a popular wedding venue. One kilometre north of Skala, the lively port of Patmos, the hotel is secluded but easy to access. It’s a 10-minute walk to the beach. Reasonable low-season rates include complimentary transfers to and from the port. Service is exceptional, overseen by the owner Elina Scoutari. " - Rachel Howard

Amazing location, very spacious rooms, large pool, fantastic breakfast choices, and warm welcome and personal service. A good taverna is just a walk away and Skala a short 5 min drive.|The hotel would benefit from some updating, but bed was very comfortable and fridge well-stocked. Simona made lovely homemade cakes and treats for breakfast as well as usual hot fare - all very delicious. The hotel was quiet when we were there, but we still enjoyed its lovely position, and the owner was warm and personable.

REZERVASYON SKANDALI – Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel & Suites (Patmos) & Zen Otelcilik WARNING! Professional fraud and systematic stalling. My reservation experience with this hotel was one of the most professionally orchestrated cases of customer deception I’ve ever encountered — and I work in the tourism industry. While booking, the system automatically increased the price and changed the dates. I noticed the issue immediately and tried to stop the transaction. The first payment attempt failed. However, they charged my card a second time, disguised as an online purchase — without my approval. This means I was charged for a service I never purchased and never received. Despite sending multiple emails explaining the situation clearly, I was contacted by different agents each time, with no proper solution offered. I was stalled, misled, and ultimately my entire holiday was ruined. This is not a system error — it’s a deliberate, organized attempt to exploit customers. I am sharing this experience across all major review platforms and formally beginning the legal complaint process. Strong warning: Avoid this hotel and its partners at all costs.

Unfortunately at last minute we had a family emergency. My wife had to flight to Shanghai. I had a good time the owner and workers did a good job with guess service. Great location for the property and well maintained. I had to check out earlier the owner offered a voucher so I can comeback with my wife. She is so sweet and understanding. I greatly appreciate it. Beautiful place.

Staying at Porto Scoutari is one of the big reasons we loved Patmos. Elina and Kiki made our stay wonderful. Elina is a very gracious, helpful and caring host. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. The sunrise and sunset from our balcony were highlights. We left Patmos with heavy hearts, however, wonderful memories of a wonderful host and beautiful hotel. Thank you Elina!

My recent stay of 9 days over August / September 2024 refers. I am a returning client after 15-20 Years, I am very disappointed that loyalty appears to mean little to nothing to this hotels management. My 7 day booking was confirmed and paid for upfront, I requested a further 2 days and asked to pay on arrival, the receptionist agreed to this (on mail) and then promptly proceeded to debit the card I used for the original booking. This is borderline fraud. On arrival I was given what amounts to one of the worst rooms in the hotel, I didn’t complain. I tried to connect to the internet - didn’t work , (I connected to the AP but there was NO breakout to the internet) the receptionist advised I had the wrong password, she checked my password (which was correct) and then advised me that “Apple devices need registration - which takes 15 -30 minutes - HUH????? - never had that before but it was a convenient excuse. I explained I have 15 years ISP experience and the notion that my device has to be registered is RUBBISH. I bought a pre paid SIM card, end of connectivity problems. The room faces west and the afternoon sun and it was blazing, (30 - 35 degrees) into the room. The Air conditioner and Fridge didn’t work properly. I awoke in the middle of the night covered in sweat, I asked the receptionist to either fix it or move me to another room, I had to remind them 2 times, when the maintenance guy came (very rude) he claimed to have fixed the problem - (he didn't). I woke up in a pool of sweat several times a night. I was verbally attacked by the owner in front of all breakfast guests, in a very loud voice saying that I paid a “special ” price for the room and I had NO right to complain about anything. The owner attacked several other guests in the same way over different things during the week I had, had enough at that point , I found alternative accommodation on the island - (with no attitude and working facilities) and checked out early. I never asked for a refund for several days I had paid for upfront. I am VERY disappointed in this hotel, location wise it is fantastic - sadly that is where it ends, the hotel needs a complete overhaul, from the systems they use to the internet connectivity, to the pool, grounds etc, etc. It is VERY tired. I won’t return until there is a complete refurbishment of everything (including management).

The perfect place to be.||||Very helpful staff ,amazing owner Elina & magic manager Vicki!!! Very nice rooms, super clean ,nice furniture . A very good bed, a terrace a fabulous view over the sea. Breakfast buffet just perfect to start your day . You can seat by the pool looking at the sea or in a patio surrounded by white linen curtains and inside. Nice saltedwater pool with sunchairs in the sun or in shadow for the perfect relax. Daily Cleaning .Top Hospitality and Service and still the feeling of being Family. Just the way I love, becouse you feel really welcome and you want to come back … over and over again.||||Porto Scoutari is located near Skala (aprox. 15-20 minutes walk or 5 min.with a scooter). Vicki booked a Vespa for me that was brought and picked up at the hotel.||||So in case you need any kind of advise and suggestions||do not hesitate to ask.||This is real Hospitality , feeling welcome and in a way at home.||I simply loved it and I wish to come back soon againg.

Even in the middle of the summer season, this place remains a haven of peace, charm and inspiring beauty. The rooms are stylish, the view is superb, and Elina Scoutari runs her hotel like your family home. Most of the modern amenities are there, smartly combined with a traditional Greek setting at its best. It's perfectly located, so you can easily access the beaches and all the wonderful sights in Patmos.
