Portovino LAVAL

I went to Portovino and the service was really good — the staff was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was nice and added to the experience. However, the food was pretty average, nothing special or memorable. It wasn’t bad, just very mid. Overall, good service and vibe, but the food didn’t impress.

While the food has lots of potential, the execution lacks severely. We were seated at 6pm, ordered and by 7:05, nothing had arrived, not even a bread basket. We had to go to the kitchen to ask some bread for the kids. Food took approximately 90 min to arrived and it came with disappointment. 3 took the penne vodka but it was too spicy from what they remembered and chose to take some home to add cream The seafood risotto was generous in seafood Variety but also too seasoned to take away from the seafood and garlic. 46$ plate+ tax + tips Kids meals come with a beverage and ice cream but this was never offered to the kids. One the staff members also drop a glass of water on one of the kids, didn’t apologize although kid’s pants were soaked.

Ravioli was great, just wish I got a little more (you get 5 ravioli). The sauce was quite good - the sun dried tomatoes add the perfect texture and flavour. My wife found her manicotti "good". She wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. Service was lengthy even considering we were a larger group. All in all, not bad.

We were a BIG group (over 30). One the rare occasion I experienced great service as part of a group. Thanks to our server, Sargio! . Both meals were good. I took the spaghetti con salsiccia. My husband got the Peperonita, pancetta E funghi Pizza. I tested the penne con pollo and the Ravioli con carne. Of all 4 the penne con polo was the best. Our deserts were good as well. Nothing negative to say! Thanks again.

This place is perfect. You can bring your wine, food is good and fast, even when the place was full of people. When we left, we were watching the desserts and the owner come to us and tolds us. "Choose one, is free" we choosed red velvet. I will return for sure

The service was excellent, the waiters are king and always smiling. The choice of food was more than varied , to top it all off it is a bring your wine. I highly recommend their brunch.

It was a great experience. I went for the brunch (buffet) on Sunday. The quality of the food was good. You had breakfast and lunch options together. The staff was so friendly and polite. They kept coming to your table to make sure you were ok. If you are looking for a unique experience for brunch, don't hesitate to go here. You won't regret it.

I have been in this restaurant several times and always happy with the experience. This past Saturday I organized a dinner for 12 for a graduation party. All my guests loved the food and the presentation. This family owned restaurant has the feel and atmosphere of a high end restaurant that will not disappoint you.

A fancy Italian restaurant with excellent service. They are very flexible with the menu. My gnocchi were off the menu. I wasn't interested with there gorgonzola offer. The appetizers were nice, octopus, calamari and arrancini. We enjoyed our meals. Byow.

Had a lovely lunch with my MIL and wife here when we were visiting. It was my MIL's pick, but I wish I knew that it was strictly a BYO wine restaurant, as I would have brought a bottle. It is a cool concept, something I don't run across too often at home for nicer establishments. Wine glasses were already on the table, but they were cleared when I told them we had no wine. The menu is 3 courses, soup or salad, an entree and a desert. I had the penne with vodka sauce, my wife has the salmon and her mom had the lamb chops. Everything was very tasty and the servings were plenty, especially for lunch. The restaurant was huge and fairly empty mid day, which makes sense as I am sure it appeals mainly to business lunches. The deserts were pretty small, but that is fine, since it provides a nice sweet cap to the meal without getting too heavy. Coffee is also included.

Decent Italian chain with a huge menu. The beef tartar was very good. Perfect portion. The pizzas were also great, one was definitely big enough for 2 people. The burrata appetizer was great also. All in all the food is very good but slightly overpriced.

Amazing restaurant. We had good service, nice ambiance not too loud or busy for a Thursday evening. The menu has so many options. We enjoy the bring your wine aspect. All the food was fresh and timely. Would try the brunch next time which is on sundays, $50 per person

Très grande surface pour ce restaurant qui est idéal pour des grandes tablées et des groupes. Comme c'est situé proche du terminus du métro et qu'il y a un grand parking, une belle option pour des gens venant aussi bien de Montréal que Laval. Nous y sommes allés un samedi midi, simplement parce que nous avions un rdv plus tard dans le même coin. La place n'était pas trop pleine mais plusieurs y étaient pour célébrer des anniversaires. Un menu du type table d'hôtes avec entrée, dessert et café inclus avec tout plat choisi. Compter environ 30-35$ par tête pour le midi. C'est assez dispendieux quand même, cependant les portions étaient généreuses, donc nous avons ramené de quoi manger le lendemain. Les desserts sont de petite taille mais très bons. Globalement nous avons été bien servi, la nourriture était bonne. Donc je pourrais y retourner si je suis dans les coins.

Ambiance is very nice, good music. I took the Margherita pizza and it was delicious - quite a large portion. Well worth the money! Would definitely come back again

Portovino Laval, Laura & Costa I hosted my mother's 80th surprise party, with a family group of 30 guests. The owners were kind enough to accommodate an aging group and provided us with the comfort of seating on the main floor so that no one would have to venture up the stairs. The decor of the resto is very nice, not too dark, not too bright. The service was great and the food was delicious. Thank you to Laura & Costa, who are great hosts. My event was a great success. They made us feel like we were at home. Thank you very much for everything, and we will definitely see you again Jackie T
