We came with high expectations after reading glowing press reviews about the txuleton, and we have to say—it truly delivered. The beef was incredibly tender, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavour. Exactly what we were looking for.
The sides (chips, green salad, and piquillo peppers) were fine, though nothing remarkable. The wine list is extensive, with fair prices for the quality on offer.
The real letdown was dessert. We were hoping for a classic Basque cheesecake—something like the one at La Viña—but what we got was completely different. It still tasted good, just not what we expected.
Service was average. The waitress showed up only a few times and never checked in on us. That might be acceptable at a casual spot, but when you’re spending around €75 per person, you’d expect a bit more attention.
Overall, the food—especially the txuleton—makes it worth a visit, but there’s room for improvement in the overall dining experience.
