Portuguese club

Good place for a change of environment to eat out in Mutare. The food was well prepared and we enjoyed ourselves. There's not much to expect in terms of furniture and ambience. Beverage choices were limited, I hope they can improve on that. Otherwise, it's a great place to try out in Mutare.

It's definitely not worth visiting. We were a party of 3, referred to this establishment by our guesthouse owner. My burger had been " microwaved" was incredibly hot & not tasty or substantial. Guest 2 had a t-bone which was thin, hard & dry. Guest 3 had chicken & "sadsa / pap" - the chicken was bone dry & tasteless. The waitress told us about 4-5 dishes that were on the menu but "out of stock". She could also not make recommendations. $40 for a 1 star meal, at best! Try harder Portuguese Club team.

The service people were not attentive. We arrived an hour before the place closed and the food options were limited. I had so looked forward to dining at this place...but alas was disappointed. On the day they were serving chicken breast and some roast. I had specifically gone to restaurant to try out the renowned prawns. Perhaps my timing was a bit off. Because the lady / hostess told me that the kitchen was only serving almost ready made food. So perhaps next time we might enjoy the experience without being turned away. Will give it another go on my next trip.

Hands down some of the best Chicken and Service I have had anywhere in the world latley and I travel a lot. I can’t say enough great things about this place. We had diner and drinks there today. They were warm and welcoming and Naomi our server; she is a Gem 😊 The food was amazing, fresh and tender. French fries were made from scratch and perfect. All the sides we had were delicious as well. We got to meet some of the owners, kitchen staff and the grill master himself. We just had to tell them how awesome it was. I live in Chicago IL and will be back again soon. Side note the women’s bathroom was top notch and very clean too. We really appreciated that too.

Fun afternoon. Delicious chicken & prawns! Friendly staff. Can definitely recommend if you are looking for a lunch venue in Mutare.

Great place - had lunch there - met interesting people who gave good information on places to go, where to buy meat, etc!

The road works around Mutare have slowed the business. The additional 5 minutes it took to get there is so worth it. The additional phone call after booking to find out how to get there was remarkable, distances we needed to travel in meters, road names given, sign posts to look out for. The lady who waited on our table was exceptional. Everyone who walked in greeted us, just an amazing experience. The food once again has left a mark on our memories and what you expect from the Portuguese Club. Not sure how they keep the positive energy going but its was it needed. Peri peri chicken felt abit dry and it could have been spicier. The salad, fries were good. The seasonal veges were so bland. Milkshake was not blended well it was powdery. Frankly the service was very slow and we were the only ones there for lunch.
