Posada Margherita

"When it comes to beachside dining in Tulum, Italian may not be the first thing that springs to mind, but this shabby chic local favorite is popular for good reason. The compact menu, which draws upon the cuisine of Genoa, features a small selection of handmade pastas, fresh seafood, and pizzas, all dutifully prepared with quality ingredients (both local and imported) and a faithful sense of rustic simplicity that will be pleasing to purists. Although certainly not a traditional pairing, an enticing variety of fresh-pressed juices and unique cocktails fits the setting to a T (and might be just the thing after a night of carousing). End your meal with the house-spun gelato, which, in keeping with the rest of the food, is straightforwardly delicious." - Michelin Inspector

Posada Margherita in the Tulum beach area is a gem that shouldn’t be missed. I had the pleasure of indulging in their PROSCIUTTO E FUNGHI pizza, and it was an absolute delight. The combination of tomato sauce, prosciutto, mozzarella, and mushrooms creates a symphony of flavors that’s both savory and satisfying. Each bite perfectly balances the richness of the prosciutto with the earthy notes of the mushrooms, all brought together by the creamy mozzarella and the tangy tomato sauce. It’s the kind of pizza that lingers on your taste buds, making you savor every last morsel. To complement the pizza, I opted for the PINK FLAMINGO smoothie. Served in a mason jar, the mix of watermelon, lemon, and basil was both juicy and refreshing—a perfect drink for a day by the beach. The flavors were bright and invigorating, making it an ideal choice for cooling off under the sun. The ambiance at Posada Margherita is equally impressive. The decor is cozy and welcoming, especially at the entrance, setting a relaxed tone as soon as you walk in. The servers were amazing—attentive and provided excellent customer service, ensuring that the experience was top-notch from start to finish. You can also enjoy a sunbed for a minimum purchase, or simply relish the food inside with no minimum consumption, which makes it a versatile spot whether you want to lounge by the beach or dine indoors. Although I didn’t get the chance to experience the rooms, the design was incredibly attractive and appealing, and I’d definitely like to spend a night there in the future. If you’re in Tulum and looking for a fantastic meal in a beautiful setting, Posada Margherita is definitely worth a visit. It’s the perfect place to spend a leisurely Sunday by the beach, enjoying great food and drinks in a welcoming atmosphere.

This is such an amazing place! The vibe is chill, elegant and elevated but not pretentious…. Feels like home… food and service are superb. The rooms are perfectly styled and very comfortable with beautiful linens and nice details. The natural light is beautiful! The Gardens throughout the property are beyond amazing and an absolute joy everywhere…. The whole space is amazing and the friendly smiles from the staff is contagious:) love love love

Google
Restaurant review only. We were staying next door and popped over with our toddler for dinner. The staff were very friendly. The pizza was yummy and they also gave us a complimentary focaccia bread, cheese & vegetable platter that was delicious. Our toddler loved the bread. The portions were generous and we ended up taking some of what we ordered to go. The setup was also toddler friendly which was nice. Our little guy played in the sand and on the daybed. The homemade chocolate and coconut gelato were delicious, and we’ll probably return again to try more of their flavors.

Posada Margherita is one of the original places left in Tulum.. the atmosphere is simple and magical, from the moment you enter you are surrounded by beautiful plants cared for every day by the owner.. along the way you discover small works of art created by an Italian painter like the small sanctuary with the Madonna, the decorated vases and in the bar area another painting with the Madonna with the child on the scooter.. the food is simple and amazing.. the rooms give the atmosphere of being in a place that gives you peace.. the staff is wonderful. Beautiful and original resort.

Google
We go here several times a year for a stay-cation. The rooms are so unique with great linens, powerful showers, and powerful AC - my husband Runs hot. The people here are so welcoming, it’s one of the only places on the beach to have intimate conversations without loud music, and it’s kid and pet friendly. You have to have their shrimp pasta, and sausage pizza!

Google
This review is for the restaurant. We live between NYC and Miami so paying top dollar for a meal is normal to us, however I did want to write this review for travelers who may not be in the same situation. We paid $95 at lunch for pizza, a bowl of pasta with red sauce (no protein), and one NON alcoholic watermelon drink. Crazy considering our 15 course Omakese with fish flown in from Japan at KUU was $300 (affordable). The food was delicious, service was good. Just wild pricing for red sauce and pizza /pasta.

Google
This review is for their restaurant! Touted as one of the best pizza spots in Tulum, the restaurant did not disappoint. We walked in to grab a pizza, they were super helpful with their service, got our pizza ordered and made quickly. Even made it crispy on request and had us out within 10 minutes. Would totally recommend and confirm the pizza quality and hype!

Google
Big big crush for this place. Had very good pizzas and amazing ice cream for dinner. The entrance and restaurant decoration are everything we like. Did not sleep there but the room entrances merged in the decoration looked promising. Do not hesitate.

Yelp
Such a cute hole in the wall "discovery" we experienced! The pizza and pastas are made fresh in house and the view is fantastic of the beach and ocean. You can sit outside or in. The restaurant is also a hotel and the rooms are all unique and so cute. They also have "shops" inside and it's a must experience kind of place. They have their dogs roaming free and they are so friendly and cute. It is a cash only place but will take zelle or USD. Service was great and we are so glad to have discovered it. Don't forget to order their house made gelato!!!

Yelp
Guys, this hidden treasure is a must in Tulum. It's absolutely darling! They've decorated this restaurant like a high end beach bungalow, with plants and lights everywhere. We enjoyed the complimentary appetizer that included pickled cauliflower, bread and cheese. We loved the prosciutto and arugula pizza, sausage pizza and shrimp pasta. The service was excellent, we had a blast.

Chris C.

Yelp
We tried calling and the call went to voicemail. We drove a half hour to get here and the place is closed. It would be nice if they noted that on their website.

Yelp
*** FOOD POISONING WARNING*** ***DO NOT EAT THE SALAD OR SHRIMP HERE*** I wish I could give this place a higher rating because the restaurant had great ambiance and great service. The pizza was good and the bread and oil was delicious. However, I went with a group of four people who had been eating the same things the whole trip. My partner and I ate a salad from this restaurant that nobody else in our group had and we both got violently sick. Looking back, we shouldn't have eaten fresh vegetables in Mexico but at such a nice establishment I guess we figured it would be okay. Do not assume like we did. If you do go here, opt for the pizza, skip the pastas, all we're mediocre and the shrimp was very obviously not fresh.

Yelp
Amazing find!! Find the small pizza sign Othwrise u may miss it. Great quiet day beach on the provided loungers if you purchase drinks and food.

Yelp
This is a very cute place at the beginning of the beach road. It is a little collection of cute houses, as if you are arriving into someone's garden. The prices are very high, for pizza. Quality is fantastic. Some issues we experienced-my friend was pressed to wear a shirt even though there were multiple shirtless men inside. My friend asked for extra cheese, and they attempted to throw out her pizza and give her a new one which she declined. Fantastic juices, very fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was good, the service which we had some slight issues with was questionable, that is Mexico. You get a mix of complimentary snacks, which are home made and very delicious. I would recommend this to friends looking for a nice, hidden, low key place to have lunch or dinner.

Yelp
The service and ambiance was absolutely fantastic! Everyone is so attentive and sweet, especially because we weren't fluent Spanish speakers. The homemade pasta was good, they used fresh ingredients and the their juices are MASSIVE. very very refreshing!

Yelp
Returned the following night and had their Tiramisu with a side of Margarita pizza and a glass of Tuscan wine. Hahaha! So so so good. Enjoy! Don't miss this place no matter what. This is an experience no other. CASH oNLY as well On the beach and also a hotel. Such a unique setting. The pizza Burrata and the pasta is as if you are in Tuscany. Enjoy!

Yelp
Great dinner with the family. Servers were super nice and the food was amazing. We had 3 different plates. Shrimp and Zucchini Fettuccine, Pasta Pomodoro and the special of the night Shrimp and clams pasta. All 3 were amazing. The insalata caprese was delicious and the bread basket was to die for. 3-4 different kinds of breads all good to get stuffed before the dinner. We had a glass of Rosé with the dinner and it was perfect to go with our meal. To top it off we ended the night with Gelato which we can complain about. The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is that they only take cash. Usually I have no problem with this, but when you have to pay these prices then it can be quite a bit of money in your pocket that you prefer not to carry around places. I would go again in heart beat and would recommend to any one that comes to Tulum and wants good Italian food. Grazie mil

Yelp
Amazing food and an excellent atmosphere! Whether it is the long planted walkway to the restaurant or a table on the beach. It is our GO TO place to eat and be merry while visiting Tulum.

Yelp
Great place to hang while getting in some beach time... Service is very friendly and helpful. It's a bit on the slower side, but that's fine for hanging out on the beach. We loved the decor so cool and friendly for all walks of life! Much appreciated. The pizza is the best fare to eat and other items are good but the pizza is the best by far.

Emily D.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots we visited in Tulum for lunch. AMAZING food, great location, and staff that was exceptionally friendly and helpful with explaining their menu. We can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Review of gelato only! I've been curious about this place for so many years and finally popped in! They dish up all things Italian, but I just grabbed a quick sweet treat: passion fruit and pistachio gelato. So creamy and flavorful! Gelato was cheap, but they are **cash only!** The grounds felt like secret gardens, all decorated with antiques and tropical foliage. Taking notes for my future home.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. We came here three times on our Tulum vacation. The food is amazing, we have a few pizzas and the shrimp spaghetti, which was phenomenal. The ambiance in the place is always great, there are caravels to sit at, or if you feel like, outdoor beds to sit and eat on. The inside of the establishment looks like some secret garden, it's absolutely gorgeous. Would 100% recommend to anyone who comes to Tulum.

Yelp
Spent a week in Tulum, and this was probably the highlight. Best food and wine we could find, and the people working here couldn't be cooler.

Yelp
This place was absolutely breathtaking!!!! The views I had while enjoying my breakfast was like a scene from a movie!!! Upon entering this spot from the street I had no idea that it was going to open up to the beach the way it did. While walking through the lush garden area there was so much to look at. The wait staff was very friendly and spoke some English and even made recommendations for us to try. My margarita was sooooooo good (seriously does Mexico even do bad margaritas?? lol). And I got a kick out of my meal, Egg in a Hole. It was very delicious and filling. My friend and I actually ended up staying here all day and found ourselves in one of the covered cabanas located in front on the beach. It really doesn't get any better than this!!! We met some amazing people also hanging out on the beach and took long walks down by the water once the sun started setting. There was also a cabana not too far offering massages!!! I am so glad we came across this gem, it truly made our trip just that much better!!!!!

Yelp
We came back multiple times! The food was so fresh and delicious and you must try the gelato. The drinks were wonderful and the ambiance was unmatched!

Yelp
What an amazing place. Nestled deep between the road and right at the beach is this authentic Italian restaurant. Had the pasta and a pizza, and both were amazing. An authentic taste of Italy. Had the coffee, and loved the taste. As you might already know, it's hard to find descent coffee in Tulum, but this place makes proper coffee. Liked it so much, that I asked the owner if I can have a cup of whole beans to go. (Needless to say, I'm a bit of a coffee snob myself). The owner graciously obliged, and gave me a lesson in traditional Italian coffee making. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The food and the ambiance are an experience!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is hands down the most beautiful and delicious hidden gem in Tulum. We loved it so much that we came back at 7am on our last morning to enjoy it one last time. The food and service is top notch. They even have day beds you can relax in at no extra cost. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to go back! I cannot recommend it enough.
google avatar

Yelp
Good God yes! It was an amazing little gem that lucky for us was right next door to our amazing lodging. We would smell it from our side. So naturally my son and I were curious like curious to find out where the amazing aromas were all about. So we walk over and it was none other than Posada Margherita. The ambiance is so cute, romantic, and quaint. You can sometimes feel like you're in Cambria. Anyway, the food is amazing not a bad dish in the house. Delicious juices and smoothies. Pizzas are almost straight out of Napoli. Service is friendly and accommodating and Milo the house dog is equally friendly and handsome. One thing bring cash with you because it's a cash-only place. Don't leave Tulum without stopping by this great little place.

Yelp
Amazing lunch in Tulum. Pizza was out of this world perfect. Pasta & gelato was top notch as well. A true hidden gem.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
We ate on the beach and everything from the salad, to pizza and pasta was exceptional. The pasta was perfectly cooked and hit all the high notes for a wonderful evening al fresco.
google avatar

Alan S.

Yelp
Only came here for a quick pit stop, after being lured in by the mysterious, hand-drawn indications of gelato. Delicious focaccia for a snack as well. One of the better vibes on this otherwise commercialized stretch.
google avatar

Alexa M.

Yelp
WOWOWOW. The menu has been the same for 21 years. When you walk off the street, you would not expect to walk through succulents and kitschy antiques and out into a shabby chic beachfront restaurant .. BUT YOU DO. From bread starters with parmesan to amazing Italian wine, pizza, and pasta. I SUGGEST IT all.. except the fish. It's an Italian place after all - stick to the basics, enjoy the ocean breeze, great service & ability to breathe without anyone smoking. They're super strict about smokers not being on the property and it did not go unnoticed.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best dinner of our lives (my fam with 3 little kids and buddies fam with 2 kids). Restaurant is gorgeous and we were seated at an amazing table Oceanside. Drinks and food were top notch and even our little picky kids said it was the best pizza they have ever had. The parents enjoyed drinks while kids ran around o beaxh and played o the beach beds. Really special evening and great service to boot! You can't go to tulum without eating here with or without little kiddos. You can easily park across the street too if you drive.

Yelp
Omg, omg, omg! The shrimp pasta was everything my heart could've desired. A perfect combo of dough, olive oil, spices, and fresh shrimp. I was in plain heaven. Husband order the pizza with Burrata, olives and capers, and I've never had anything this flavorful. Loved it!!!! The drinks were so refeshing! Absolutely delicious food! The ambiance was super cute! We sat by the beach, made the experience worthwhile! The service was very good, the servers were on top if it and very friendly. Only thing I would reduce a start for is the price, we ordered 2 entrees and 2 drinks and our bill was around $100. Not sure if its worth for a lunch but it is Tulum afterall. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
Our go to beach restaurant in Tulum. There is no minimum per person, they just expect that you will drink/eat while there. The decor is incredibly quaint. The food is too notch! All pasta is made in house, the caprese is lovely, and comes with a focaccia board that is delicious. The staff are so friendly, they all speak some English, and the owner and managers are so welcoming. When we go there we feel like part of the family. It is not just a restaurant it is an experience. I unapologetically give it 5 stars!
google avatar

Diana G.

Yelp
Calming and enjoyable ambiance. Loved the freshness of the food! Went with staff recommendations and nothing was a miss. From the snack board appetizer to the fresh pasta, the pizza, the gelato.... ALL great. Coming back forever and ever.
google avatar

Mariesa C.

Yelp
Being Italian, I'm always weary of eating Italian food in new places. Here, I'm SO glad I did. Pasta and sauce were SO fresh and delicious, and the focaccia they start you with is incredible as well. Our server, Miguel was amazing, and was knowledgeable about the menu to an IMPRESSIVE point, as well as super friendly. Would absolutely come back here if I'm in the area!
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
Perfect pasta. Always. It'll cost you, but the cost isn't unreasonable. Their descriptions sound deceptively simple, but their regular menu is magnifico. The spinach and cheese Ravioli is awesome, and there's a ton of beef in the bolognese. The Pasta with Pomodoro is a special that night, not that anyone is going to notice a pasta on top of a succulent split spiny lobster... Love the sauteed zucchini against the al dente and the fresh seafood. The Tiramisu is sweet familiarity. It has a thick layer of soothing mascarpone over the bitter, spongy coffee bottom. Not as sweet as most, in a really good way. Gorgeous. All of it. The pasta perfection, the flickering candle that dances in the ocean breeze and throws the shadows on our table on the beach. It's a guaranteed great meal every time, just make sure you have lots of cash.
google avatar

Liane L.

Yelp
One of those sundown Magical Dining experiences you don't want to miss while in the village of Tulum!
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
This was a lovely spot to watch the sunset. We planned to visit another place to watch the sunset, but they were full. I'm *so* glad that we came here instead. When you arrive, you walk through this gorgeous jungle of plants and kitschy items. Beyond the greenery is white sand, blue skies, and vast ocean. There are benches, big chairs, and beds (beds!!!) to lounge on at the beach while you dine. We sat outside on a bench on the beach, facing the water, and the kind server brought two extra chairs for all 4 of us. We ordered a bottle of rose wine, and sank our toes in the sand. It was *chefs kiss* perfect. While the sun set, it was getting close to dinner time. We had plans to go out to dinner elsewhere, but thought we'd get salads and appetizers here with our wine. We had a caprese, which was really nice, and the platter of different focaccia with pickled cauliflower and some cheese - I loved this! Being an Italian menu, I would love to come back one day for the pasta. One thing to note, there is a sign outside says "Pizza!", but there didn't appear to be any pizza on the menu. Even still, my experience at Posada Margherita was 5 stars.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
Great location, unique setting. The food was delicious and service was solid. I would definitely recommend for a casual but well crafted dinner experience, super laid back but great delivery.
google avatar

Yelp
The views, breakfast on the beach, adorable cabanas all 5 star! We stayed at the hotel next to this place and every day it was such a fun place to stop in. They gelato, pizza, fresh drinks all make this place worth a visit. Ask for extra cheese and they will not disappoint! They're also pet friendly and the beach dogs stop by in the afternoon. They take zelle I think is what it's called. If you don't have cash you can send through Wells Fargo or chase. Very secure I use it all the time. Bring your beach towel and hang for a while. They have daybeds, paddle boards, and a swing! I am already missing this beautiful beach spot.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
We stayed here this past weekend for a bachelorette party and the hotel is adorable! The staff is so friendly, centrally located and they have the best pizza restaurant inside the hotel! They clean up the seaweed in front of the hotel as well so the beach is very clean!
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance of a low key European beach club. Food and service were excellent too.
google avatar

Anne H.

Yelp
Hmm.. I was very much looking forward to this meal as I kept hearing great things. Meh. Though I was skeptical of having Italian cuisine in Mexico, the reviews looked more than promising. The venue and view were perfect. Super romantic setting!! The bread they bring out to you at the beginning was also unexpectedly delicious! They bring out many kinds of bread w pickled cauliflower and a hard cheese. Very, very tasty. We ordered the salad (there is only one and it is fairest salad) and that was lovely too especially the fresh burrata. Wow! Unfortunately, the main courses were very much not on the same level. We ordered the pasta with shrimp and fresh veggies, the zucchini and mushroom pasta, and one of the shrimp dishes. The pastas were overcooked and the flavors of all the ingredients all blended together making it very one note. The two different pasta dishes also tasted very similarly to each other. The shrimp dish was served with rice and veggies. It was better than the pastas but honestly not outstanding. Wish I could say the food was as great as the venue.
google avatar

Kaitlyn T.

Yelp
A little disappointed in this restaurant. We came for dinner and only tried the pizzas. The ambiance and vibes were amazing, however the food fell short for us. It's very expensive and not worth the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful beachfront restaurant, but just okay food. Was told Posada Margherita was a popular place by many fashion bloggers and the like. I can see why as it is very picturesque and suitable for lounging. Had lunch with the girls and decided to try an item from each section of the menu. The server had expressed how the pasta was handmade and we decided to try it. We ordered the: Al Pomodoro Fresco (Pasta with pasta sauce), Acqua Pazza (Poached local fish) and the Gamberi in Guazetto (shrimp cooked in sauce). We decided to share the After Party juice since it's served in a huge mason jar. You are served a complimentary antipasto of different kinds of focaccia bread; tomato, sage, and onion. My favorite being the tomato focaccia. It's served with a jar of pickled cauliflower, which was delicious and a couple cubes of cheese. The Pomodoro Fresco was simple, perfectly cooked pasta, al dente. Bravo! The Acqua Pazza (poached fish) was very underwhelming, it was served with a small side of rice which was undercooked (raw inside) and a salad with citrus that was tasteless. The fish didn't have much flavor, it was mushy and not visually appealing at all as there were juices all over the plate. The Gamberi (shrimp) didn't taste too garlic, slightly sweet, not the freshest shrimp we've had on the trip and overcooked as they started to reach tough/rubbery territory. The After Party juice was good, definitely for those people who enjoy Beet juice. Very pricey here, price points similar to entrees you could get in California, US. Portion size small. Food doesn't seem consistent, so hit or miss. Cash only and be aware of currency conversion. I'd grab a drink or juice here and enjoy the beachfront view. One of the good things is that you're able to walk to the beach from the restaurant and there are a few beds and chairs you can occupy. Foodwise, nothing spectacular.

Dalia V.

Yelp
They have wonderful bread and pasta. They had raw cauliflower with olive oil and seasoning. They prefer cash or Venmo-no credit cards.

Yelp
We decided to eat at Posada Margherita during our honeymoon in Tulum based on the good reviews and gorgeous Instagram pictures I had seen of it (trap!!). And, while it wasn't terrible, it definitely didn't live up to our expectations and was extremely overpriced. We tried their signature pasta dish and a fish dish. Neither one impressed. (I did, however, love the smoothie I got. If we go again for some reason, I'd definitely forego the food and just enjoy a smoothie at their gorgeous beach!) And it was one of our most expensive meals in Tulum! Definitely not worth the money (in my humble opinion). The service was good, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. But it's definitely one of the silly fancy places in Tulum, which a lot of people love. If you're more of a casual traveler (we are very casual travelers when we're in Mexico and on the beach), this place may not impress you much either. (To put things in perspective: I accidentally offended the woman that ran the shop that sells swim suits, clothes, jewelry, etc. inside the restaurant, because I asked her how much a pair of earrings were and she replied 250 EACH. I assumed she meant pesos. She didn't. That's the kind of fancy this place is. Even for lunch!) Definitely not one of our favorite spots, and I wouldn't recommend it over many other better value meals and better tasting meals!!!
google avatar

Merle V.

Yelp
Dinner here on a full moon of course helps the ambience but Posada Margarita is absolutely awesome!! Needed a change from Mexican cuisine came here pizza was delicious pasta was fresh and the tiramisu was outstanding!! definitely be back! Luis our server was on point and professional.

Yelp
Bring your cash--they're cash only and dollars or pesos will work. Albeit you'll get the better deal if you're paying in pesos. Now onto the food: Let's begin with the pizza--absolutely delicious. Their dough is well crafted with just the slightest hint of being over salted, it's just at the precipice. I loved it. A pizza will serve two people and you'll still have room for pasta to share as well. Get the pasta. Handmade to order and these folks nail the perfect al dente noodle. They hold all the proper Tulum ambiance with facing the beach and having tables on the sand if you want to get up close and personal with the water. If you're craving Italian, this is where you want to eat. Ciao!

Yelp
When you have the Northeasterly trade winds coupled with the salty sea breeze blowing through your hair while the white sand softly moves through your pedicured toes as you sip crisp, cold rose or a freshly squeezed juice concoction served in a 48oz mason jar at one of Posada Margherita's wooden table tops, you just can't help to blink a few couple times here and there to realize that all of this is ACTUALLY REAL. Nope, you're not in a dream or fantasy world where you'll wake up just to find yourself in your one-bed/one bath studio. You are actually in paradise dining in one of their more spectacular, yet so simple, picturesque establishments out in gorgeous Tulum. The food and drinks are beyond amazing: seafood, pastas, salad options are all available as well as vegan/gluten free options should there be any diners with dietary restrictions in your party. The beach and oceanfront views while you dine is just all so breathtaking. There isn't a "bad" view at all from your peripherals while in this restaurant. Seating is scattered all throughout and is somewhat tiered so that you get a different experience from each viewpoint when you find yourself here. It almost feels like you're in another restaurant when you're sitting in another area; it's pretty well thought out. You're definitely going to find me here with crew in tow during our next trip. It's already in the planning stages, and I'm almost definite it will be just as memorable as this first time.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Tulum. Cash only restaurant and menu is written in Italian. The pasta is fresh and the food is amazing. The vibe and scenery makes it a treasure.
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
I had 3 separate people tell me to check this place out when I was researching Tulum, and felt the whole experience was very mediocre. My favorite part of this restaurant was the ambiance, set beautifully overlooking the beach with a shabby chic decor. The food and service was definitely lacking though. We got a fish dish (forgettable) and a pasta dish (forgettable), and both were a little bland and lacked creativity and flavor. The best dish of the night was the complimentary focaccia bread that they provided. The menu was extremely limited, there were only about 8 - 10 things to choose from. They have a sign for "pizza" outside on the beach, however ting don't offer that. Hmm... Another negative is that they only took cash, which was also a bummer. There are so many great places to eat in Tulum, but this just wasn't one of them.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
This place is a must in Tulum. The posada looks like a little town beautifully decorated with a long isle surrounded by plants and vintage stuff that will take you to the restaurant located right in front of the beach. Its cash only so make sure to carry Mexican pesos or USD to pay unless you have a bank account in the US, then they will give you the option to pay through Zelle. The menu is very small but everything is delicious. I tried pasta al pomodoro fresco and pasta al broccoli e funghi (my favorite). The Acqua Pazza fish is a very tasty and healthy option.

Yelp
Delish food! Amazing views! Perfect Decor! Service - Slow, for a person such as myself who doesn't really know how to relax and is going, going, going the service time in Tulum is something I can't really seem to get used to. It's soooo slow, everywhere. Sit down, and wait, and wait some more, and wait some more. The food was lovely, very nicely done. We shared the tomato and burrata salad. So fresh and so tasty! I could have probably stopped right there. I haven't had dairy in quite some time so I'm fairly certain I'm still paying for enjoying such an indulgence. The pasta, fantastic! Yet, I haven't had gluten in quite some time either, so ouch! I eat pasta on occasion but it's gluten free which this surely is not. The bread tray accomanied with fresh parm and cold cauliflower salad was superb! It's been awhile since I've had any sort of bread other than buckwheat so I'll say this meal is really quite nice if your digestive track is used to having gluten and dairy. The tirimusu was very light and a perfect ending to our lunch, the portion size was small but a nice sweet treat for three of us to share a few bites of. Our drink order took a very long time to come out (I think it finally arrived when our entrees came out so we were pretty thirsty while waiting for these and had to ask several times for them). Upon receiving our bill an extra drink was on the order. You'll have to pay for water everywhere in Mexico, be prepared for that. They removed it when we brought it to their attention. Our meal was $95 USD for two pastas, a side of mushrooms, one burrata salad, 2 cocktails, 1 flat bottled water and a dessert. I suppose it's not the sort of lunch you'd go to every day but it's surely a nice option while vacationing (again, if you can handle having dairy and gluten), otherwise stick with ordering veggies. Those were delish too ;)

Yelp
If you think eating a pasta dish with lobster on a coffee table is awkward...imagine trying to split that pasta dish with lobster between you and your girlfriend on a coffee table. So naturally we ask if they can separate the dish out in the kitchen. They said no. I figure this is a nice place, the prices are high, so I'm gonna talk to a few different people just to see if the answer will change...nope! They told us it's complicated to split and that they don't want to give the kitchen any extra instructions. Never mind that the first thing they tell you when you sit down is that the menu's been the same for 20 years! So imagine my surprise when the dish comes and the lobster is literally in two separate pieces and it takes us 10 seconds to split it between the two of us. Because it's on a coffee table we are now covered in pasta sauce. Also the plates they gave us to split this lobster were smaller than the actual lobster. Then they forgot our fish dish, then they ignored us when we asked them to pack up the leftovers. And I've been sitting here for about 15 minutes writing a Yelp review while waiting for a dessert menu. The party next to us arrived after we ordered, got their food before us, had dessert, Took a bunch of photos and left before we finished eating. Cute place, loved breakfast here, but the service left me feeling exhausted. It's as if they were teaching us lesson for asking them to separate pasta. Oh, and I agree with everyone else here the food just is not worth the price... We got the lemon fish, the sauce was great, and we got the zucchini pasta with lobster... Someone in our party got the mushroom fish which I just felt was a little too fishy and umami. The pistachio gelato was very pistachio-ee The tiramisu was not that good.
