The 18 Best Restaurants in Asheville, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Chef Peter Pollay’s elegant Posana restaurant has anchored the heart of downtown with its Pack Square location for more than 15 years, priding itself on a vast, award-winning wine list and luxurious, seasonally rotating cocktail menu. Many are shocked to learn after sampling the stellar housemade breads and pastas, that the restaurant is 100% gluten-free — the concept was inspired by Pollay’s wife, Martha, who has celiac disease. Menu exploration can begin with trusted favorites — the sesame seed breadsticks and lemony kale salad with local manchego. Entree options typically include the unfailingly delectable wine-braised short ribs as well as pastas and local chicken and pork dishes. Posana plans to expand into South Asheville in 2025 with a Biltmore Park outpost." - Gina Smith

Let me begin by saying g that our server Tennille was absolutely superb and she made our anniversary date night 10 times more special and enjoyable than we’d ever thought! She was knowledgeable and her expertise in the food as well as the wine was what makes the difference between a good restaurant and a great one. She instantly knew when a tried a particular wine that it wasn’t quite what I liked and immediately made a suggestion that although had all the same grapes/flavors, because it was a different terrain tasted so much better! The food was also super delicious! Worth every dollar. Both my boyfriend and I had the short rib and it truly was falling off the bone. We also tried the Gnocchi appetizer and wow! All the flavors played really well with each other. Would come here again and definitely recommend!!

My wife and I celebrated our first anniversary here and the staff was wonderful. They signed a card for us and gave us complimentary drinks and dessert. The other food was great, but the pork was quite overcooked which is a little disappointing at the restaurant's price point.

If you are GF, this is the place; everything is gluten-free. We happened upon the summer menu filled with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the cheddar biscuits, the beet appetizer, the braised short ribs, finished with the chocolate torte. Unique selection of cocktails, and the wine menu is extensive. My glass of Malbec was very good. Service was attentive, personable, yet not always in your space. Highly recommend!

Google
We had a wonderful anniversary celebration dinner! My husband and I were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Our food was absolutely delicious! We had the burrata appetizer and it was divine! Loved this place and would highly recommend it.

Google
We go here every time we visit Asheville. it's all gluten free, and the porch is so dog friendly. It's not often a gal can get hush puppies and fried green tomatoes at this quality level. You just don't know the relief and joy of being able to order off a fine dining menu without having to cross examine the poor waiter if it is going to be safe for me to eat. Fun cocktails and normal beer for my husband. Only thing is I do miss the dog dining menu. It was such a cheesy cute idea that made taking the dogs a special treat.

Google
Got served a VERY pink pork chop, asked the waitress if the cook was correct and it was safe to eat and was condescendingly told they source them from local farms and they're "supposed" to be pink and it was safe to eat. It's dim in there, so I trust her. Fast forward, I'm halfway through the chop and this thing is RAW in the middle, clearly. Waitress finally takes a real look and is mortified, apologizing profusely. They took it off the check but I ate half a raw pork chop? Maybe comp the bill. Vibe is great inside, but even the other food was mid or less. Go to Luminosa instead - less expensive and 10x the food quality and service (and they won't poison you). Edit: Reached out after the owner's response and a week later they've done nothing but ghost. Highly recommend avoiding this spot.

My fiancé and I were in from out of town the week of March 24th. I made a reservation through open table for one of the nights we were in town. We arrived three minutes early and got seated right away. Our server introduced him to us and went over the menu, but what I loved most was Jeremy also told us what his personal favorites were. We ordered a bottle of wine (very nice variety of wines to chose from. 30 pages I’m I’m not mistaken!) We order the soup (which was sold out unfortunately because it sounded phenomenal l), the cheddar biscuits with a hot honey butter, gnocchi appetizer, and kale salad as our starters. I had the Brasstown New York Strip while Todd had the Bucatini Aglio E Olio for our entrees. We finished with lemon thyme tart. What I think I loved the most about Posana was the use of some of the ingredients together which may come off strange, but work! Gnocchi was delicious, I absolutely loved the cream sauce. The hot honey butter was different but delicious. The kale salad was wonderful. Steak was cook perfectly. Todd really enjoyed his shrimp dish and dessert was also good! Jeremy was very attentive and knowledgeable but also extremely personable which makes him very good at what he does. No matter how good the food can be, if you do not have good service, it can make or break a place. Here everyone was more than friendly and professional but they all seemed happy! Thank you for a wonderful night out in Asheville!

On Sunday night (YES! A restaurant that is open on Sundays!) we dined at Posana and had another wonderful experience. I was there to celebrate my birthday and starting with Lily at the door was wished a happy birthday from everyone! When I was sat, I was given a signed happy birthday card from the staff, and when our fabulous server, Alli, arrived with a touch of prosecco for us all to cheers with, I was over the moon. Eli (probably one of the best bartenders in downtown) hooked us up with fabulous Old Fashioned cocktails and we were off. The food is consistently good, the service spot on and the ambiance is perfect. If you have not popped in there, even to sit at the bar and be constantly entertained by Eli and Faith, you are MISSING OUT. Go tonight. And have one of the best meals in downtown Asheville! Thank you all for making my birthday something special!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was excellent and service was even better. Kudos to Alli, a great servicer. It was my birthday and was a very pleasurable experience.

Yelp
What a great farm to table restaurant. We made reservations and were seated promptly after arriving. Hosts and wait staff were amazing. The ingredients are all sourced within 50 miles unless noted (like Scottish salmon). I had the NY strip and it was perfect in every way. My wife had the trout on grits and it was equally just perfect. The side of fried green beans contained enough for 4 people. I will definitely make plans to return to this place on our next visit to Asheville. Oh yes, a shout out to the staff who signed the card the restaurant gave us. We were celebrating our 41st wedding Anniversary. They all made us feel special. So nice.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience for me, my mom and my two dogs! Jeremy was our waiter and was so knowledgeable as well as fun! Nova sat us and came back to check on our experience. They were just the kindest staff. The dogs each got their own dog meal of chicken and rice! We had the margarita that was not on the menu and it was fabulous! We also enjoyed the chopped salad, pork belly appetizer and split the shrimp pasta. There are no notes. It was a perfect meal.

Yelp
This is a gluten-free restaurant and kitchen. Literally everything on the menu is gluten free and the staff has extensive training on the topic. The menu is seasonal and local so not sure how much reviewing the food will help since by the time you see this review, it will probably be different. The beef tartar was good, pretty much like cow sushi. The zucchini hushpuppies are a must have especially if you're gluten-free and don't often get to eat fried items. My girlfriend got the short rib and it was excellent. I got the market trout which was good but the pickled veggies didn't pair well with it. However, the rice grits that also came with the dish were amazing. Do yourself a favor and get dessert. The strawberry shortcake was outstanding and unique, it was more biscuit with crystalized sugar that shortcake but that's what made it stand out and the homemade whipped cream was to die for. We will definitely return each trip we take to Asheville. They do offer reservations and I really suggest you make one a few weeks before your trip as it's super busy and not the biggest restaurant. Pretty cool vibe inside and service was on par.

Yelp
A very cute restaurant in downtown Asheville. I highly recommend making a reservation. The patio is first come, first serve and pet friendly. We were seating out in the patio & we had our dog. When we first sat down, there was a couple next to us with a dog & the owner kind of became paranoid with us because we sat with a dog next to her. It was an awkward and uncomfortable scenario but the hostess was so kind and moved us to a larger table and with more space. Our dog did not approach her dog, our dog likes to lay under the table and will lay there until we are finished with our meal. If you cannot control your dog, please do not take them here as the area is small. The restaurant also has dog rules. Anyway, the food was delicious. I highly recommend making getting the short rib. It was fork tender & so flavorful! The burrata appetizer was a well balanced flavor bomb with the sourdough, jam and creamy burrata. The cheddar biscuits were moist and the hot honey butter was Devine. Every dish we had was so good! They even had a 3 course meal for your little pup! We got the chicken and brown rice entree for our dog. She devoured it!

Yelp
This place seemed pretty understaffed, the waitress was working really hard and she was sweet but we were left to wait for long periods of time. We would have ordered dessert but didn't have another hour to spend here. They did start us with an amuse bouche that was tasty- I always love when restaurants do this. It was a little chip with a fresh avocado mixture on it. I also got a coconut mocktail that had a hint of orange in it and that was amazing. My friends and I split a couple of meals. The ricotta gnocchi was one of my favorite parts of the meal- it had little pieces of bacon and asparagus. We got the short rib and it was ok- the meat was a little fatty. The chopped salad was good, I liked the lime vinaigrette. We ordered the duck and it came out cold, sent it back and it was cold again.. the restaurant took care of it but that was a bit frustrating.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Our server Allie was absolutely amazing. Not only did she check in on us frequently, she was knowledgeable about the wines and was able to help me select the perfect wine. In addition to the outstanding service provided, the food was delicious and seasoned to perfection. If you're searching around for good food and an excellent selection of wines, then look no further.

Yelp
A great experience at Posana last night for a dinner date with my husband. The menu has locally sourced options with so much flavor. We got both specials of lamb & tartare both are exceptional. Also fun cocktail choices and seasonal fun choices. We had a Dirty goat, a fun funky spin on a dirty martini. Also highly recommend the Stiff Biscuit created by the bar tender & actually does taste like a buttery biscuit! We had the cheddar biscuits and trout as well. Honestly the braised lamb was the star of meals. Dessert we had vanilla bean cheesecake & whisky nana pudding- both good but get the nana pudding! Exceptional service and cool ambience. Thanks Jeremy & Jesus our wait staff for being super attentive and kind. We will be back!

Yelp
Good food w wonderful service. My family of three were sat at the bar and the service was impeccable. Eli was attentive and friendly. We ordered the fried oyster mushrooms Oyster mushrooms apps: they were good battered, but I probably would have enjoyed them sautéed so i could experience the oysters more than the batter. Otherwise, good and would recommend. Kids meal trout w mushrooms: with skin, simple seasoning was good, but not seasoned on the other side. Fries were good. Scottish salmon: salmon was nicely cooked, temp was great, but not as fatty as I like a Scottish fillet. The grains w peas was nice, but i didn't much care for the way the greens were in a coconut sauce. Boneless short rib: short ribs are always a favorite of mine. This one was ok, could have been more tender and moist, but still good. The fingerling potatoes yum! I sampled a few red wines, but didn't find one I liked. Fyi: I mistakenly made reservations with another resto on Saturday evening, but the hostesses were gracious and said it would be 20 mins if we wanted to sit at the bar. Surprisingly, it was exactly 20 mins to get seated! Yay - bonus points.

Yelp
Food + service= A++++ all the way! Super creative menu- and the staff is just amazing and super friendly! I had the gnocchi dish- perfectly prepared with those beautiful little slices of asparagus. Not sure what the extra little sauce was- but delicious! Also- the zucchini hush puppies OMG! The little smash of goat cheese and a drizzle of Calabrian chili oil. We went 2x and I had the exact same dish: also the atmosphere is super trendy and on point - makes you feel 100% comfortable

Yelp
We recently went here for a rehearsal dinner. The back room was set up SO cute and it's perfect for private events. Highly recommend. The staff was attentive and always kept our drinks full. All the food we had was also delicious. The steak was a little rare for me but everyone loved all the options we had. The espresso martini was a hit! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
We had a great experience celebrating our anniversary at Posana. To start, I highly recommend the kale salad which was perfectly massaged and tender with the right amount of dressing, crunchiness from the pumpkin seed, and sweetness. This was the best kale salad I've had and I would love to learn to make this! We also ordered the cheddar biscuits but I wasn't a fan. They lacked flavor and tasted bland. I would save my money on those. For entrees, I had the swordfish, and my husband ordered the pork chop. The pork chop was delicious, tender and juicy. It had a delicious citrus brine and was cooked perfectly with a touch of sweetness. It paired well with the grits and collards. My swordfish was okay but I preferred the pork chop! Posana has an inviting ambiance and we had great service. We even received a few bite-sized complimentary treats which were a nice surprise for our anniversary.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at Posana recently, and it has quickly become my new favorite restaurant in Asheville -- thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by our server, Suany. From the moment we were seated, Suany delivered a level of hospitality that was both warm and professional. Her thoughtful recommendations led us to some of the most flavorful and beautifully presented dishes I've had in quite some time. Suany's attention to detail, genuine care, and deep knowledge of the menu elevated the entire experience. With service of this caliber, it's easy to see why Posana stands out. I look forward to returning regularly. Five stars, without hesitation.

Yelp
We are from Portland, OR, a foodie town, so we were pleasantly surprised how amazing the food is in Asheville. Our first 2 restaurants we had dinner, were hand selected by a local. We found Posana using Yelp. Yelp never disappoints. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, and the ambiance incredible, and exquisitely designed. We ate on the patio, and the street vendors were a bit annoying, but the food, and wine selection more than made up for it. We would definitely seek out Posana on a return trip to Asheville.

Yelp
Excellent service from the time we walked in the door from the hostess to our very attentive and knowledgeable server Tennille. We celebrated my wife's bday and can't wait to come Back again! My wife has celiac disease and it was So nice for her to be able to order anything off the menu. Everything we Had was very good but we would especially recommend the pork belly and hush puppy appetizer, the shrimp And grits entree, and the cheesecake.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a relatively modern looking restaurant. Food - Okay, their mushroom tagliatelle was ok, and their mint jagger (mocktail) was good. Service - Not great, the server smacked a fork across the table onto the floor while grabbing it and service in general is very slow. I sat outside, and the waiters inside were giving me dirty looks when I walked in to use the bathroom. Parking - They do not have their own parking lot, so you will have to find parking elsewhere on the streets. Overall, this place is not the best experience. I'd recommend walking 1 min and trying the Curate instead
google avatar

Marcos B.

Yelp
Short rib and trout were excellent. Green beans are great too. Mocktails delicious. Service is fantastic a little noisy but it's well attended so expected. Reasonable prices definitely coming back.
google avatar

Keelie Z.

Yelp
Excellent service and ambience. Food was ok. I got the pasta. Husband got the short ribs, which I wish I had gotten... I sampled his and they were delicious.

Yelp
Pretty restaurant with a nice patio for outdoor seating. Service was very good and attentive. We started with some excellent appetizers the cheddar biscuits were very good, the gnocchi were delicious and the salad was fresh and crispy. For main course I had the trout it was ok, and my wife had the chicken. The chicken was good but the vegetables were very undercooked. Overall nice place and definitely worth a try.

Molly C.

Yelp
We had a nice dinner at Posana--cozy, romantic vibe and great service. We started with the cheddar biscuits and the burrata, and those were hands down our favorite part of the meal. So flavorful and a great way to kick things off. For dinner, we had the bucatini with pork belly and the short rib. Both were good, just not super memorable. Our server was really knowledgeable and attentive, which definitely added to the experience. Overall, a solid meal--not necessarily a showstopper, but still a nice dinner out in Asheville.
google avatar

Yelp
What a beautiful and delicious meal! I would come back to Asheville, North Carolina, just to eat at this restaurant. Everything was healthy, organic, and gluten-free. From the wine to the coffee, and even the vanilla bean paste in my Americano after dinner, everything was so tasty. I had the hush puppies, tofu, carrots, and fingerling potatoes, which were amazing. Do not overlook this restaurant!
google avatar

Carly

Yelp
Thanks, Posana, for an excellent experience: service was sharp, cocktails were creative, and our meals were layered with flavors. Great for groups of four or less for intimate conversations and cozy ambiance. Dress code was typical for Asheville: some dined in Columbia jackets, jeans, and hiking boots, while others were in 3 piece suits or sparkly cocktail dresses.

Melissa A.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here and our server Alyssa was so sweet and attentive! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Lucia D.

Yelp
Posana is great for your gluten free friends. We started with the Bib salad which was made wedge salad style. Dressing was not throughout the middle it was on top and around and topped with blue cheese and crispy fried onion and along the sides of the plate were chia-poppy seeds topped tiny pieces of beets. The cheddar biscuits were also good with HOT honey butter. The gnocchi were good but I didn't care for the flavor of the pickled artichoke hearts taste added to the black trumpet mushroom. It gave it a pasta salad taste. My main entree was disappointing. The chickpeas were undercooked dried out and gritty and the snow peas were hard (yes you could eat raw but these were hard) and the rice was also dried out. I only ate the chicken which was seasoned nicely and placed in curry sauce.
google avatar

Leanne K.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and delicious food! The atmosphere is beautiful and I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Sean L.

Yelp
Suany was our server and she was excellent. We came right after the recovery from hurricane Helene and Asheville was just opening back up. The city was lively but not as crowded as usual and we were able to snag a reservation here without any fuss. Their entire restaurant is gluten-free and this was an amazing selection of new American food that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. We were sat at the table by the window with a great view of downtown Asheville and the decor was very suited for a date night. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
This was the best gluten free dinner we've had! My daughter has celiac and everything on the menu is dedicated gluten free. It was so delicious and our server Suany was exceptional. We will definitely come back!

Tara S.

Yelp
Genuinely phenomenal restaurant in every aspect!!! The food was amazing and fully gluten free, even the crostinis and desserts! Its farm to table and all locally based, and was so delicious all around. Our waitress and the hostess were so friendly and knowledgeable and we really loved our conversations with them. They were great and super helpful with our dining experience. They also have a dog menu and a 3 course dog meal for dogs on the patio! The inside was very nice and had a classy, low light atmosphere and created a lovely feeling for us! I think every one whether gluten free or not should eat here, as it is wonderful food, service, and vibes! Bring your pups too!
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. They told us that they love when folks celebrate their anniversary with them and they proved right. The food was great and the ambiance was perfect for the occasion! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Gaby H.

Yelp
Amazing! We made reservations at Posana to celebrate our parents 30th wedding anniversary and their vow renewal. We were so delighted that they were able to accommodate our party of 8. The entire experience was fabulous. The food was fantastic. We ordered 4 starters for the table (Octopus, Tempura, Pork Belly, and Focaccia Board) and every bite was more impressive than the last. We all decided to order something different from the menu and not one person was dissatisfied. The service alone was enough for me to give a 5 star review. The servers and staff were so incredibly kind and attentive. Many who are not gluten sensitive or eat gluten free may be skeptical. However, I am here to say that Posana has figured out how to satisfy everyone without feeling like something is missing. My biggest regret of the meal was not taking pictures of all of the beautiful meals. Note: The early grey tres leches was a hit at our table and was hands down one of the best desserts that we have ever tried!
google avatar

Yelp
(5/5) Staff was extremely friendly. Jay was my waiter and he was fantastic. Walked in with no reservation on a Wednesday night. (4/5) Food was overall great. - Brussel sprouts had a perfect crunch and sweetness to it. I loved the cranberries and sauce. - Trout was also great. Perfectly cooked with. Nice crispy skin. Although the green beans were pretty bland and undercooked, the potatoes were seasoned great. - The Alfredo was okay, probably wouldn't order it again. The pumpkin flavor was underwhelming but it had a pungent pork flavor. - The Tres Leches was good. It had a potent lavender and honey to it, while not being overly sweet. (5/5) Drinks were great. - The mint jagger (cocktail version) was perfect. It had the perfect sweetness to liquor ratio. - The Hot & bothered is LITERALLY hot. When the drink arrived, it came to my surprise that it was hot and ultimately not enjoyable for my tastebuds in which my waiter Jay immediately accommodated me by suggesting to have the drink chilled. Overall the place itself is a great date night spot or simply a nice place to have dinner.
google avatar

April H.

Yelp
I love the feel and atmosphere at Posana. This is a great restaurant for a date night or dinner with friends. The cocktails are great and when I switched to a mocktail it was equally as good. I had the chicken and my husband had the steak. Both items were beautiful and delicious. Our service was fantastic from start to finish and she even brought be a to go cup for the rest of the tea I had after dinner. Such a simple thing but many places don't do that for you anymore.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I don't know that I've ever teared up over food, but this place did it to me. Our wonderful bartender at Noble Cidery down the street (check them out too) recommended Posano. I immediately checked for their gluten free menu and was sooo so sooo happy to find the entire place is gluten free. Seriously, go to their site, check gluten free and it says to refer back to the regular menu because everything is GF. Let's talk service and ambiance. My husband and I were greeted as soon as we walked in by a cheerful hostess. We arrived a few minutes early prior to our reservation. (Unsure if this is necessary, but can't hurt to be prepared and book a spot ahead of time.) Our waiter was wonderful and prompt. My husband does not need to eat gluten free but tried every item and said they were excellent. We even fought over who got the last breadstick. (Surprise, I won.) I am considering a trip back to Asheville just to come here. If you have someone that needs to eat gluten free or you, yourself have a gluten intolerance - run here, fly here, bike here, just go. Also - if you do not have any dietary preferences, just go. The food was excellent. My only regret is not getting a main course. Looks like I'll have to fly back now, darn. CANNOT SPEAK HIGHLY ENOUGH about PASANO. If I had to pick a fav, it's a tie between the sesame breadsticks with olive oil and the carrot cake crème brûlée. Also - they have coke products which is fantastic. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Go and thank me later.

Yelp
I'm a local who doesn't go to higher-end restaurants often, but this was a special occasion a few months ago for a friend who has numerous food allergies. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, the setting is classy, and the food was outstanding. The price can jump pretty quickly, but I don't regret a single thing we ordered and would celebrate here again in a heartbeat.
google avatar

Kathy I.

Yelp
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance! Our server, Lauren made our time very enjoyable.
google avatar

Brittany W.

Yelp
Where to begin?! From the moment you walk in, the warm vibe invites you into a dining experience you are not soon to forget. Every member of the staff was friendly and welcoming as well as knowledgeable about the menu, helping guide you to an unforgettable palette sensation. Each course we partook in was a flavor explosion that did not disappoint. 10/10 recommend dining at Posana. **Ask for Logan. He was a delight!**
google avatar

Josh N.

Yelp
We conveniently made reservations on Open Table. The restaurant is a little more upscale casual. The staff was courteous and efficient. We opted to go with several appetizer/small plates over entrees and the flavor profile of everything was truly exceptional. I'd love to go thru the hole menu here but my stomach and wallet are not big enough for that. Hopefully I'll get back someday and until then I'll think about those balsamic beets :) Thankfully its all gluten free so my wife could enjoy without worry!
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
WOW! This is one of the best meals I've had at any restaurant. We had a 9pm reservation but were seated as soon as we arrived at 7:30. Our servers - Hayley was training Eli - could not have been friendlier or more attentive. We chose this restaurant because my wife has Celiac, and options on a menu can often be tricky. This entire incredible menu is gluten-free! We didn't even get to a main course tonight. We enjoyed biscuits with hot honey butter, sweet potato bisque, mushroom gnocchi, pork belly monte cristo, onion rings, shrimp hush puppies, grits with cheese and sorghum "popcorn," a lemon thyme tart, and crème brûlée. Insane. We will absolutely not miss this place any time we travel to Asheville, and you shouldn't either.
google avatar

Regue C.

Yelp
We arrived in town just in time for dinner. Lots of choices but so happy we picked this one. We sat at the bar and the service was great. The shrimp hush puppies were tasty and the off menu scallops were delicious. It's a very lively upscale restaurant and we will definitely go back.
google avatar

Denise L.

Yelp
We had the private room in the back for about 20 plus of us. Service was exceptional. Room was modern, drinks were flowing. However, the room is not soundproofed well and incredibly loud, really hard to hear the person next to you. We had a set menu, but it would've been nice if they had appetizers like bread or something while we waited for the food. The kale salad was good but a bit bland. Had the ribeye, and it was cooked pretty well. Didn't care for the romano beans but the mushrooms were delicious. The desserts were underwhelming. The creme brulee tasted like cheesecake? Sweet potato pie was just okay, and the smores tart was not as good as it sounded. The drinks also seemed to be pretty weak, we couldn't taste the alcohol at all.

Paul C.

Yelp
My wife and I had a fantastic time at Posana this past weekend. We had the Cheddar Biscuits and then the Bucatini and Short Rib - which were delicious. We also enjoyed the cocktails with a nice ambience. Special shout out to our servers - Jeremy and Jesus - they were awesome and helped make our night feel really special.

Ken S.

Yelp
Great menu, superb wine list, amazing food preparation and excellent service -- all at a reasonable price. Comfortable and casual ambiance and decor. Had just a wonderful dining experience this weekend. Recommend highly.

Yelp
I don't know exactly how many years Posana has been around, but it's been a few. And over all those years, I have always left this beautiful space with the feeling that my time there had been well spent. It's obvious that people who love dining out as much as I do have thought through every detail. And they have ensured that those details are executed with an uncanny degree of consistency. If you've been with me for long, you know I don't really care for kale. But Posana's kale salad is so well conceived, so well executed, that it's one of my favorite salads. Ever. 'Nuff said. Some chefs seem to forget the magic of sauce - the way it can turn mediocre into good, and good into great. Not so here. Sauces and dressings are vividly flavored, complex, and applied in perfect quantities. That culinary death knell, the dish that eats "dry," is notably absent from this menu. See and taste for yourself - Posana deserves its place on the formidable list of Asheville's greatest restaurants.

Jade W.

Yelp
I've gone to Posana twice now for different special occasions and both times my party felt so cared for. Their food is delicious and you really cannot go wrong with anything in the menu. If you are looking for a special occasion spot, Posana is the place!

Yelp
Went here for our wedding anniversary. If you let them know you're celebrating something special they will do a little extra. We had the best trout ever! Recommend this place

Yelp
We are visiting Asheville from Boston and we took our son and daughter-in-law who are long term Asheville residents out to Posana for dinner. The food was incredible. I had the trout which was cooked to perfection and combined with the most interesting other foods and flavors. They have unique flavor combinations for every dish we tried. And the service was stellar. Tennille was our waitstaff, and she is both highly professional and engaging. She truly knows and cares about both the food/drink as well as our experience. An exceptional experience all around. Not cheap but worth every penny.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! Everything from the cheddar biscuits to the tagliatelle was amazing! You would never know this is an all gluten free menu. The pasta in particular was the best gluten free me or my girlfriend have ever eaten. Posana puts a lot of care into everything they make.

Yelp
Wednesday evening we went into Posana for dinner at the bar. It was packed and we were lucky to get a seat. We had gone there Sunday for a quick drink and found the bartender open and friendly. We weren't disappointed this evening either. Their staff is superior. They have a small eclectic menu. We started with a pork belly and octopus appetizer. Both were fresh, tender and delicious. Then we split a generous Caesar salad complete with anchovies. Finally a flavorful steak with a scrumptious Demi glaze sauce. We ended with a sinful chocolate mousse presented like a piece of art. We closed down the place again finishing off such a spectacular dining experience. So far one of our favorite places in Asheville.
