Cool space for beer, cocktails, and pizza. They have a nice variation of beers and some creative cocktails. The pizza is pretty good—not amazing, but definitely better than a decent amount of other spots. I really enjoyed the Johnny Boy Pie. The staff are very friendly and fun-loving. It’s a nice spot to hang out with friends, watch a sports game, or just grab a quick bite to eat.

Google
We looooove Poseidon Project!! 🍕🍻 Amazing wood fired pizza, even better Staff, and epics wood fired wings. We have so much fun stopping in here and splitting a BBQ Chicken pizza plus order of wings. Thanks for always serving up the best pizza in the ‘hood! We love to hang with everybody that works here too, it’s our neighborhood spot. Skipper is THE BEST!! Make sure you sit in her spot at the bar if she’s working.

I bet these pizzas are usually amazing. Ours was just a little bit too thin and had burnt bubbles which rendered the slice undesirable for our kids. So we barely had enough for them. But I would love to try to eat here again. I didn't love the honey pizza (their specialty) but that is just me and I bet a lot of people love it. You'll just have to try that one for yourself.

Ordered takeout pie from here for delivery to Harlan Brewery. Hot honey pie was great and the crust had just enough char on it but light and crispy.

Google
Great spot for Beer and Pizza. Had the Magarita Joey pizza which was excellent! Thin crust and delicious. Beer selection was pretty good on draft with a few can and bottle choices too.

Everything was fantastic! The service was great. She was personable and kind. The food was delicious. Cool little spot. Would definitely go back if I was back in the area!

Google
Wood-fired Oven We had a really terrific dinner here - wood fired chicken wings, caprese salad and wood fired pizza washed down with a bottle of wine. The chef really knows how to use that wood fired oven - delicious slightly charred chicken wings and a lovely thin pizza with a light crispy crust. The only thing that detracted from the whole experience was the paper plate and plastic cutlery.

My boyfriend and I had a great time out for pizza & beer at Poseidon Project! We got a couple of local brews and a really good pizza called the Meaty Baller. They have toys and games to pass the time and the staff is really friendly. We loved not having to wait to be seated on a Friday night!

Yelp
Had to venture out to this area because it had a little brewery scene nearby mission bay. I would have to say it's very hospitable and it's a good place to chill and watch games. All I got here was the espresso strawberry martini and spicy Paloma. I should've got the pizza it seemed like everybody was ordering it. The service was great I saw the pizzas and drinks coming out pretty quick. The espresso strawberry martini tasted more so like chocolate which isn't bad but surprising. I really enjoyed how it was filled to the top. The spicy Paloma was no joke. It was absolutely spicy but nonetheless enjoyable. I will probably be coming back to try out the pizza everybody was ordering.

Yelp
Came here on a week night with some friends to celebrate a birthday. It was not super crowded in the front so we could spread out and have that area to ourselves. Had kids with us and heaven forbid they have to sit with their parents! Many pizzas were ordered but I did not have any of them. Ordered a beer and socialized. I decided to order a pizza but waited until everyone else was leaving (that part was not intentional) and the pizza took longer to make than I had anticipated so I was stuck with my 9 year old who was bored. Employees were cleaning up the area we had been sitting in and my 9 year old wanted to help and the employee was nice enough to spray down the tables and give them the towel to wipe tables. After cleaning tables and putting the chairs back where they went, said kid ventured to the kitchen to watch pizza making. The person making the pizzas was super kind, patient and understanding of questions, wanting to watch the process etc. After that an employee was folding pizza boxes and kidlet wanted to help. Staff was kind enough to let them help with the boxes. After what felt like 5 hours, but was probably 20 minutes I got my pizza and took it home to eat it since my child had been bothering the staff. Cannot stress how amazing each person we interacted with was. My kid wanted black olives (they aren't listed as an ingredient or on any of the pizzas) but they asked and the bartender came up with some. Between this and letting a kid shadow you, ask questions etc while you are working, every one here was so patient and kind. The pizza I ordered was the loaded baked potato. It had mozzarella, potato slices, bacon, chives and crema on it. It was super delicious and I was super hungry and wanted to eat the whole thing but managed not to. It was $19 and the pizzas are on the small side but are wood fired and better ingredients. This was my first time here and I will be back! There were many more pizzas (and cocktails) I wanted to try but was unable to. Note: this is on a street near a fire house and parking is limited. There are some diagonal spots on the street in front of the business but we had to park in the residential area and walk a bit They also have a larger selection of board games that are for all ages (definitely ones that are for kids too) to help pass the time while waiting.

Yelp
Ordered a custom pizza with 4 toppings (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and olives) and some wings. Ordered to go and took it straight back to hotel less than a mile away. Pizza flavor was good but crust was soggy. If you're into soggy crust then might be the place for you. Good sized wings and tasted fine; not amazing but just fine.

Yelp
We came here after a bike ride at the beach. They have beer on tap, some cocktail choices and pizza, salad and wings. We ordered three meat ballet pizza aaa ricotta on pizza is a fav for me. The pizza here is very tasty. The atmosphere is kind of relaxed and quiet. We were here on a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Great pizza and drinks. Friendly staff. The crust is thin but still has that chew. Quality toppings. Good beers on tap and fun cocktails too. Come here often when we just don't feel like eating at home. Easy and casual and never disappointed.

Yelp
Came here for my first time and I already want to go back. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza for $18 to share with my friend and tried their Ocean Water which is a blue margarita served in a Jarritos Mineragua bottle. The presentation of the drink threw me off at first but it was good and refreshing. I would order it again. The bbq chicken pizza was delicious; perfect amount of bbq sauce, cheese and chicken and I liked the texture of the pizza and the crust and everything all together yummmm. Service was friendly no complaints Take me back

Yelp
I've been to a great brewpub next door but never noticed this joint until searching Yelp for pizza options in my hood. Self seating and ordering at the counter is the norm at this no frills place. Started out with a local draft, and was disappointed how few options there were considering it's location. Caprese salad was wonderful, but the sausage and peppers pizza was quite a bit spicier than expected. We picked half the peppers off to manage the heat. Ambiance is rustic beach industrial, service was at the counter, and price was slightly above expectation. We might pop back in from time to time due to proximity, but at first visit this joint does not make the list...

Chris B.

Yelp
Beer and pizzas are good, but this place is legit Chuck-E-Cheeses meets Disney World on most evenings up until about 8 PM. Kids standing on barstools while screaming, running rampant and causing chaos while the pet owners sit quietly with their dogs. Like i mentioned, wait until about 8 PM if you're going to drink and eat there unless you don't mind the kid chaos.

Yelp
Brick oven pizza here is always good! We usually order two, one for dinner and enough left over for lunch the next day.

Sophie H.

Yelp
The food here is amazing, no matter what pizza you get. But my favorite is the baked potato pizza so so so yummy and will NOT disappoint. The drinks here are always great as well! Cori is always super attentive and helpful when it comes to deciding what drinks to get and when she makes them. The ambiance here can be alittle on the chatty side but it's a well balance I could probably get studying done and get some dinner. They also have a little outside patio that is dog friendly

Yelp
THE WORST EXPERIENCE! Giving them a one star due to the horrible service my friends and I received from the staff over the past weekend. My friends and I were out celebrating a birthday and had gone to Poseidon to order some food to bring back over with us to Harland Brewery where we were hanging out. We decided to get a round of shots after we placed our food order. Girl bartender was nice and said happy birthday. Fine. The cashier (young male) wasn't too friendly to begin with. We also ordered a lot of food; 3 pizzas, 2 salads, and 3 orders of wings. Then for some reason it all went downhill. The birthday girl decided to go back to Poseidon after some time to get another round of shots. . . in the middle of taking our shots, a staff member from Harland walks in and says something to one of Poseidon's bartenders while looking over at us girls. This is only after our second trip to take a shot, overall total trips would be around 4. From this moment on staff at Poseidon started acting super rude with us and even making comments along the lines of. . . "Isn't it a lil too early to be taking shots. . . " Mind you, it's a Saturday around 3pm and we already mentioned we were celebrating a birthday!! Also, why make this comment when tending a bar?! I've worked at a very popular brewery before and would have never treated customers this way! It was so bizarre for us women to be treated this way for the first time ever!! They obviously had an issue with us going from Harland, then to Poseidon, to get shots, although we placed a big food order and on top of that had placed another order a separate time for two more pizzas! None of us were even intoxicated to the point where we could have caused a scene, but they made us feel like we were acting that way. Staff at Poseidon even refused service after we asked staff at Harland what the issue was. We were prejudged by both staff at Harland and Poseidon. My group of friends and I have never acted out of character and are always respectful every where we go. We also obviously know that Harland/Poseidon are not environments to party all crazy and act wild, but the staff made us feel like that's how we were taking it. Not even going to lie, the food was SO GOOD! It's a shame we had this bad experience and will never be back to visit. I just really had to put this out there before anyone else experiences the same.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
I came by after having a beer at Harland. I went and sat at the bar. There were 3 people behind the bar and nobody acknowledged me. I didn't have a menu, but I saw there was a blackboard chalk drink menu. There was a list of house cocktails, but no description/ingredients of each drink. I waited at the bar for 5 mins and it was as if I were a ghost. It was not busy at all. I got fed up and left the bar and I'm sure nobody noticed or cared. I think the owner wouldn't be too happy to know their employees just let money walk out the door. I really wanted to give this place a shot, but they don't like serving people.

Yelp
Call me crazy but pizza should be hot??? We got what looked like it could have been a really beautiful, crisp, wood fired pizza, but it was left out for so long before being served that the cheese coagulated and the crust got floppy. What a travesty! I saw many other reviewers complained about the same thing but they refuse to fix it. Weird business practice, but ok. Too bad, the vibe is pretty cool and I wanted so much to like the place. I will say the beer we had was pretty good and strong as hell. But that pizza! Woof! We will not be back.
google avatar

Jane C.

Yelp
Just a few doors down from Harlen Brewery, I had heard that this place delivers to the brewery, so I decided to call ahead just to double-check. Initially, the person who answered mentioned they don't deliver, but once I mentioned I was at the brewery, they were more than happy to accommodate. Upon entering, the bartender warmly greeted me, took my order, and explained the ins and outs of the place. The friendly atmosphere put me at ease instantly. The venue itself had a relaxed vibe, with a long rectangular bar showcasing an array of spirits, and to my delight, I noticed a cozy back patio as well.

Yelp
Hot honey pizza...ummm? It's broken , it's not good. I don't think honey should be alone with pepperoni.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza is so good. Had the bbq chicken and hot honey. Really really tasty. Also had the corririta and I loved it.
google avatar

Howie L.

Yelp
Pretty decent pizza if you're in the area. Thin, crispy bottom. Sides tho were an afterthought. Friendly service.

Lo B.

Yelp
Great quality and good tasting Pizza. Was disappointed that I added Basil to a cheese pizza and there was only a single leaf of basil on 5 of the slices with the last slice being all cheese.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Absolutely love the Caprese and the loaded baked potato pizza is to die for!! Nothing else like it. Would 100% recommend the atmosphere is very welcoming and casual friendly. As well as the staff is very nice!

Danielle G.

Yelp
Love their brick oven pizza! Family pleaser. Always hot and ready when they promise takeout orders
google avatar

April C.

Yelp
Love the gluten free pizza option here! Great local place to hang out. Nice bar and friendly service.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Overpriced and okay pizza... Pizza toppings were really good but the crust was VERY thin, limp, and chewy. Even with a fold it wouldn't stay up. It was also pretty expensive for a small 12" pizza. The staff was friendly and it seems like a good spot for dog-owners. Dogs are allowed inside. The $10 passion fruit margarita slushie was really strong.
google avatar

Kim A.

Yelp
I could smell the oven from outside the place and was immediately hungry. Ordered a small pizza from the wood burning oven. Was great! Unique craft cocktails and beers. Happy stopped in.

Victoria K.

Yelp
There is self-serve, cold water readily available and easily visible right on the counter where you order. The glasses are a medium size. Overall, good water experience.

Holly B.

Yelp
Finished dinner here and while food was fine, was very irked about their Tuesday "2 pizzas for $30". On their website didn't specify the type of pizza so when we get the bill we're surprised our pizzas are full price. Apparently the deal only applies to a couple of their more basic pizzas. We were told they haven't updated their website to clarify but will still have to pay full price. So she acknowledged their mistake but too bad for us? Not cool

Yelp
The location is really cute and it looked like people were having a great time there. We did arrive on a Friday night at 7 PM. We went to the bar and ordered food because we heard they had pretty good pizza. The girl that took our order was very friendly and did warn us that it was going to be a 30 to 40 minute wait for the pizza. OK, no problem! I kid you not, an hour and a half later the very nice girl who took our order came over and asked us what it was we had again. She went back to the kitchen to check and see what was going on. A few minutes later another very nice girl who seemed to be the manager on duty came over to the table and again asked us what it was we had ordered. Again she went to the kitchen to see what was going on. When she came back she told us they were five tickets ahead of us and she explained that their oven can only cook two pizzas at a time. She offered to bump us up in line but said they would still be six more pizzas before us. We are now at one hour and 40 minutes from entering the restaurant. The offer to move our ticket ahead was very nice but seemed unfair to other people that had also been waiting a really long time. We decided to ask for a refund and ended up leaving the restaurant two hours after we had initially ordered. This would not have been as disappointing had we been having drinks there but I'm a nurse and had to be up extremely early the next day so no drinks for me. Looks like a fun place to hang out and have cocktails with your friends but I would not order food here if it is even remotely busy and expect it in a reasonable amount of time.

Yelp
There are only a handful of pizza restaurants in San Diego of this caliber. Poseidon is on that short list. If you love great pizza (and beer) you'll find yourself in great company here. Some of these pics really don't do it justice, so just imagine if NYC style and West coast style had a gang fight to the death, but they stopped and decided to kiss and make babies,...this would be their gift to the world. Im struggling to find fault with this "please all" kind of pie. On that Barstool Sports / Portnoy scale that registers with so many pizza people, this is in the 8's. That's the score.

Yelp
I'm a big-time pizza snob, and these guys have the kind of pizza I like- thin, liberal use of Ricotta and a little bit of char. So if Filippi's is your idea of great pizza, you probably won't appreciate what they do here. I tried the Margherita, Veggie and MeatyBaller. All were quite good. They actually had a little too much char for me, maybe it was a cook error, but the crust edges on my leftovers (properly, gently heated in the oven, NOT microwaved) were not super-enjoyable. Remember- if you don't eat your crusts, you're not really ready for another piece, or you need to find a new pizza place. Wings were just OK. The two I had were a little underdone or too fatty or too much skin, plus I'm kinda into Korean style and original Buffalo lately. Most (all?) menu items can be ordered from Harland Brewing next door, making this pair of spots a VERY appealing Pizza 'N Beer destination! Definitely coming back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and don't come here often and now I know why. They are so RUDE, it doesn't seem to matter what staff member is here they are awful. I get that you are understaffed but my simple questions made this bartender very angry. Plenty of other better pizza joints around plus the crust is thin and sometimes burnt it's honestly an awful vibe.
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
Fabulous neighborhood spot that we were introduced to by friends. Dog friendly, fun bartender, and friendly clientele, too. I had the Ocean Water cocktail - fabulous! The hot honey pizza sounded a little sketchy, but it was delicious. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Natalie P.

Yelp
The pizza was ok and a little cheaper than your standard pie at about $17. We had the pie with sausage and ricotta.. I wish I had seen more toppings on the pizza. The flavor was good, but nothing I can say stands out. My fiancé picked up the pizza while in the area.. we try to support local pizza places every weekend. Might be a one and done for us. Not mind blowing.. but not bad either.
google avatar

Adriana M.

Yelp
I happened to have the "Italian Tostada" that they serve here, but it was at a mobile catering stand at Harland Brewing Co. But after that experience I will definitely be going to Poseidon Project to have it again. It was outstanding food, and the gentleman who took care of my order was friendly, professional, and made the experience that much better. I had a calzone with spinach added, and it was definitely big enough for two meals, with some marinara sauce on the side. The bread and cheese were perfect... YUM!!!!
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Great pizza and cocktails!! Is this 85 characters yet? Why do I need to leave such a long review? I'd post more of it wasn't the case.
google avatar

Mason N.

Yelp
Service was awesome. Pizza was awesome. But the oven fired wings were one of the best I have ever had. It's spicy, well seasoned, and smoky. All you need is the sausage & pepper pizza with their wings and don't forget some beer...maybe 3 or 4.
google avatar

Yelp
It took a year being in the neighborhood before checking out Poseidon Project. A year too long! Poseidon Project hit the nail on the head on all points. 1) The right ratios. A good pizza with a crispy crust! We consistently get pepperoni pizzas. Basic but perfect. The pies come out quickly, with the perfect amount of marinara, toppings and that all so important crispy thin crust. 2) Low key. You order at the counter, and can select from a great list of rotating beers to accompany your pie. 3) Friendly staff. Each time we've visited, the staff has been prompt, friendly and helpful. 4) Chill vibe. It's a very low key setting. It's local couples of all ages. It's a dude and his young kids while mom's on her girls night out. They have ample seating and a few tvs and a few games to enjoy while you wait and while you eat. For a really nice pizza, a good craft beer and an affordable, fast meal, this is the place.

Yelp
Wood fired baby. The best. Also enjoy very much the pizzas out of scripps ranch. Thank you

Mark M.

Yelp
Started coming here when a friend recommended it to me. Been coming back routinely for about 2 years now. Best customer service experience I've had from a restaurant. The bar selection itself is worth the visit. Great Tequila, Meszcal, Bourbons and beer.. Try the Coririta. Invented by one of the amazing staff here named Cori. She is hands down the best bartender, customer service person and always smiling and happy. Was there earlier tonight and the staff was on it as always. Amazing pizza, wings and customer service provided by Cori and Jill. Lots of laughs, great conversation and friendly guests. Definitely try the wings and hot honey pizza. You won't regret it. Stacey McMillen.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Wow wtf happened tonight they really don't know how to run this pizza joint. YIKES! Don't come here if you're really hungry. Took them 1 hour just to figure out why they had forgotten my pizza order. I would give 2 stars but their beer selection is great and they had a kombucha which I loved. COMPLETELY BURNT CRUST also. If the pizza was already extremely late and everyone's waiting for forever why were they cooking it for so long? But they comped my pizza so I was okay with it. Poseidon... get your shit together and learn how to run a pizza joint it can't be that hard guys!

Yelp
SO GOOD. We tried to go to a pizza place near Ocean Beach but being out-of-towners didn't realize how CRAZY BUSY it would be. Searched Yelp for a pizza place near-by us but NOT too close to the beach, ended up here. NOT disappointed. The pizza was delicious. We ordered 3 different ones, Hot Honey, BBQ Chicken and Pepperoni (for the kids). Loved every single one. My 4 yr old (VERY picky eater, like he eats with his eyes first and won't touch anything green) absolutely loved this place. He ate half of the pepperoni and barely came up for a breath! Service was great, guys were laid back and friendly, we even left with two hats because we loved the pizza so much. Will definitely be back again!
google avatar

Karina E.

Yelp
Awesome staff, pizza, and laid back vibe. Stop by here and get the hot honey pizza . The also have a selection of beer, seltzers, and I believe mixed cocktails! You won't be disappointed!

David L.

Yelp
I have been coming here since it opened, my brother was even a bartender here. Three bad experiences in a row. All dine in, our last visit the pizza was soo over cooked it was a cracker. Today the crust was cooked perfect but we ordered the hot honey and there were literally 7 pepperoni (size of a quarter which is correct) 3 of which on 1 slice. Then 2 slices had no cheese. Honestly we loved this place but won't be back.

Yelp
A secret gem in the Bay Ho area! Everyone overlooks them because they don't exactly have a ton of beers on tap (8 to be exact) but the lineup changes every week and most are from local breweries. Their main focus is on their bottles of craft beer and wine. They have bottles in the fridge to go and another list of bottles that are for in-house consumption only. You can consume any there for no corkage fee. Personal bottles brought on-site are subject to a $5 corkage fee (very pricey!). Expect to find some hard-to-find/ non-SD beers both in the fridges and on their specialty bottle list. These are a tad on the pricier side, but it's totally worth it because it's difficult to get these in SD anyways. Hell yes to De Garde, Upland, Crooked Stave, Logsdon, and Rare Bottle! They boast a decently sized space, offer plenty of seating, and they are also dog friendly. Often times, they invite vendors to serve up food to hungry customers! Customer service can be a hit or miss depending on who's manning the place. Shout out to Stew, the man! He hooked it up with some pours on our last visit since we were splurging on bottles left and right. Awesome spot and perfect for any large gathering! I had a group of 25 people here on my b-day and we were very comfortable on a Thursday night. Also very well taken care!

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place. First time here, and am not disappointed. I'm not a beer gal but was recommended one that i enjoyed very much the Liliko'I kepolo. The pizza special, Jonny boy pie, was really good. Not sure why this place is empty most times. There's plenty of room and outdoor seats. If you want a chill place where you can hear some tunes from outside and good service, this is a good choice.
google avatar

Braind O.

Yelp
NY Pizza snob here who misses the NY/NJ/CT pizzas terribly. Almost all (except Bronx pizza) SD pizza is flimsy and disappointing and i usually make my own at home instead if i really want. Decided to have a "make my own" here and i was pleasantly surprised. Pizza folded and didn't fall apart and was delish. Hidden gemn for sure. (5 stars would be impossible in san diego, so 4 is really good!)

Kevin O.

Yelp
I love the Tuesday pizza deal at Poseidon. Sadly, last night our pizzas were forgotten somewhere along the way. I waited almost 40 minutes for two pizzas to go. When they finally came, they were totally cold. I'm not sure where they were sitting, but they had obviously been sitting there for a while. Super disappointed.
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
Simply the best beer bar/pizza joint you'll find in coastal SD. The vibe is so cool and hip, much like Magellan on his inaugural journeys-ya know what I mean! Or if you don't just know this - Nate n' crew have something special in a growing area of San Diego. So get here before the trolley line is finished and ya can't find a seat!

Mariana C.

Yelp
Hands Down the best Pizza in San Diego. Every time I go in I feel very welcomed and iI feel very comfortable. If they ever decide to open in Las Vegas they would crush it. So many wannabes pizza places in Las Vegas. This place would take them all out of business. I love this place. Been coming in for years.

Jeff B.

Yelp
This place blows. Pizza is way overpriced. Service is slow and the drinks are terrible. I won't be coming back. Don't waste your time or money here.
