A must-visit in Cleveland, OH! 🎃 This Halloween-themed restaurant is packed with incredible décor and delicious food. The Western Burger was perfectly balanced with crispy fried onion rings, and my partner said the BLT was one of the best they’ve ever had. Service was a bit inconsistent—one staff member overlooked us, but another was attentive and kept our beers full. Overall, a memorable stop worth checking out!

Google
I was absolutely famished and would've eaten anything, but the food from here was so awful I couldn't take more than a bit. We got the stuffed hot peppers which tasted like microwaved old green peppers with a mozzarella cheese stick shoved into it, and a couple other forgettable appetizers. The service was great, bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The beer on tap was good, as some places don't clean the lines which leads to mold that makes beer taste like shit. But I can't get over the terribly disappointing food. Also, the music comes from an old fashioned jukebox which is cool I guess but severely limits the options.

Google
The food wasn’t really my thing, but I’m picky, so others might enjoy it more. What keeps me coming back is the atmosphere—this bar has been my go-to spooky hangout with my best friend for years, especially in the fall. The music could be more up to date, but it adds to the charm. Amanda, my bartender, was amazing and made the experience even better. Overall, it’s a warm, welcoming place that’s especially magical during Halloween season but enjoyable year round.

Google
Amazing food! Great service Community bar environment Great time and food! The may I recommend the patty melt first and foremost. But please put a fried egg on it because it made it so much better than it already was!! The second thing I would request that you order is the cabbage and noodles if you were any bit of Country like my husband and I are you will definitely not be disappointed. The waitress was very friendly and very observant. I have absolutely no complaints about this place and we actually went back for a second time when we were staying in Cleveland.

Love the halloween vibes. We were in recently and not a great experience.still giving 4 stars bc i think it was just the people working maybe or an off night. We ordered wings, mozzarella sticks, and potatoes skins- just sharing apps. They were out of wings (but had the wing dings), out of mozzarella sticks too. Were easy so we said wing dings it is and mushrooms instead. We knew the old wing dings took awhile- no biggie. 25 minutes later the wing dings came out with the wrong sauce. We told the guy who brought them anshe said, "I dont know i just deliver food." Alright. Then the server came around and we told her and she said, oh well. So I asked for a side of the sauce and she charged me for that. We only ate a few of the wings because neither of us like garlic parms-it was just a basket of butter really. Lol. my friend also just sked for napkins and she got mad about that. We also asked about the other items we ordered and was told those take longer. (Not sure why, I've worked many a bar and dont think mushrooms take over 30 min but, sure.) 15 min later the potatoe skins came. We asked for silver ware...never got it so we just used our wing bones/fingers. Silverware must've been in too high a demand. Then when it was time for the check we told them to just take the mushrooms off since we never got those which, after looking at all of our baskets and counting them she said..oh you really didnt get those. So she did take that off. The whole time she acted like we were a huge annoyance when, we actually were really forgiving and didnt even complain even with all that. It was one kf those awkward experiences when you just feel like youre being bullied and need to apologize to her for existing. She did end up giving us a drink token with the check when it was time for the tip bc I think she realized literally everything went wrong and she was being mean about it all. So, its whatever. But I dont think well be back in. Super neat decor tho. Like that they go big.

Google
Small, cozy bar with the absolute best Burgers in Parma! The Salads, Patty Melt, and Sloppy Joe special are also delicious!

derek S.

Google
Quirky little neighborhood bar with fantastic drink choices and great food. The best time to visit is Halloween since they put up so many decorations!

Cristina S.

Google
I live one county over and yet whenever I am in town I always come here to eat. I absolutely love the food and the service. They make you feel like close friends, and welcome you in right away. The best BLT I have ever had in my life is from here. Prices are good, service is great, food is excellent!!
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
We always like to go to Post & Beam, especially at Halloween time! The decor is amazing and the servers dress to impress! Went two days after Halloween and they were dressed in Wizard of Oz theme (my favorite) The food was good and they were hoppin' busy in there! Try the Beamer Burger!

Sharon K.

Yelp
I had the toasted cheese and tomato soup. Both items were really good. It eas hard to get in and around in a wheelchair. They only have high tables so I ate off a chair which the waitress suggested. The toasted cheese was perfect. The bread was nicely toasted and the cheese was wonderfully melted and gooey.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Small pub with great food. 1/3 lb burger was large and juicy with fresh toppings. Triple decker BLT was also delicious with tons of bacon and fresh lettuce & tomato. Cool halloween animatronics on all the walls.
google avatar

Marissa K.

Yelp
I got the bacon burger. It was huge and delicious with lots of bacon. The service was fantastic and the 2 ladies very friendly and gave great advice. My mom in the wheelchair didn't fit at the tables but they said to use extra stool and that helped. It's a basic bar with high top tables along the walls. For warmer Temps they have a nice size patio. I upgraded to the onion rings and those too were delicious.

Ken L.

Yelp
Great food and decorations the bar maids all looked great, Our food came out quick for a busy night

Hannah D.

Yelp
Took our 10 year old for all of the halloween decorations, and it was so much fun! The owners were so friendly and made sure that our little one enjoyed all of them. the food was also delicious too!

Bob B.

Yelp
Love Post and Beam. Good food, cold beer and the best bartenders in town. Great place to watch your local teams.
google avatar

Rafi M.

Yelp
Food was not that great and the management is horrible. Small bar, the inside decorations will suffice.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Pretty cool place! The inside was pretty dark..reminded me of an Irish pub. Lots of TV's, including on the outdoor patio which is really cool. Haven't had the food yet, but ran into a friend who said it's great. Fantastic service! Will be back

Ashish V.

Yelp
Erika and Amanda are absolutely gorgeous and amazing hosts!! Bar is nice and cozy, great collection of liquor and quite affordable

Yelp
There are a million places to go in NEO and yet we come back week after week all year. Sitting on the patio, enjoying football or basketball games on the numerous tvs we enjoy our selves every time. My favorite is the hippo or bypass burger. The meat is fresh ground meat not frozen patties. There so big I automatically put 1/2 in a to go. Tried almost everything on the menu and have not been disappointed once. We usually go in the evenings, can't speak to the lunch crowd but the barmaids every last one have been efficient friendly and attentive. By far the best little dive bar we have been to.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Randomly found this bar when looking for something unique, divey w good food while in Parma. Post and Beam did not disappoint. No windows, so it's dark inside, which adds to the laid-back, neighborhood bar ambiance. It was about 1:30 and there were plenty of regulars mixed with a few others seeking a late lunch. Prices are affordable for quality bar food, and cold draft beer. They're known for great burgers but we had some delicious wings, Cajun fries, packed potato skins and a big BLT with fresh, hot bacon. Great sevice! The bartender was super friendly, helpful and attentive with everyone. Good music too. Check it out!

Yelp
This review is totally based on great service after 7 pm. Honestly just took away a star from day shift. It's night and day in terms of service. At 1:30 pm, service is suspect at best. Don't want to take away a 2nd star but...it's close. The gals I know are all stars. It took 13 minutes to get another beverage and then she questioned whether I was driving. This, after I ran 3.6 miles to get here! It's all relative. But...the best DAMN dive bar in northeast Ohio! Where else can you go and order hankie pankies and get a Tito's & soda for $3 & change? Been here more this year than the last __ years combined. (It doesn't matter how long). Okay, sure there's no natural light and it feels like a prohibition era dungeon. Never mind all that. [Yes, a renovation would be cool but they're not hurting for business either.] The people make the place. Bottom line. It doesn't matter if you hail from these parts, or not, people are just here to have fun. Though, it's cool to run into fun people you know, from elsewhere, here. Btw, only people ready to have fun come here. TIP: Don't bring you're depressing day or lifestyle to the Post!! As far as the staff...damn. Cassidy, Christa, Erica, & Liz are the best!!! Always feel like royalty here based on how well these wonderful ladies treat me. Food...it's fantastic! Already mentioned the hankie pankies. Wings you ask? Didn't raise prices here from the alleged wing shortage. There's daily food specials. Love the chicken Philly though. Also, when all the other bars close down, on an average weekday night, guess where they go? That's right. To this bar. Post n Beam. I'd be remiss to not point out that there's 24 beers on tap, if my math isn't off. So, there's that. *With respect to the best time to visit-there's never a bad time. However, I have had the most fun after 7 pm. Maybe that's just me. [Following the BS year that 2020 was, this feels like one of few places you can go & just be yourself.] Tremont, Gordon Square and Ohio City all have their own respective places. In the end, this is a good anytime place! **Please note, I made no mention of Post being the best Halloween decorated business in Ohio. Animatronics. Look it up. They have it here! Good luck getting a seat. ***Jukebox? That's where it's at. Old school baby!! No skipping other people's stuff here. Millennials may be disappointed but everyone else appreciates the selection. It's all part of the experience.

Yelp
This place is an awesome local bar! Only thing that should change is there cook (why the atmosphere gets a 2 star). She is rude to the paying customers. She causes disturbances at her own workplace. I witnessed her SCREAM at a local patron who was taking too long at "her" gambling machine. It is an unsettling feeling when she is there and knowing she is cooking my food.
google avatar

Natalie D.

Yelp
Our server, Lee, was so sweet, efficient and genuine. The food was awesome. My mother in law was excited to take us there and it did not disappoint. In addition to great food, they had a great draft beer selection.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
The food is really great, Lee our bar hostess has a great personality and is very efficient in getting your drink and food order, burgers are the best,!!
google avatar

Yelp
Dive bar atmosphere...killer burgers. Have brought many groups of unsuspecting (work) friends here over the years, they are always shocked to find such a good burger. I am a big fan of the Beamer burger which comes in two sizes 1/2 lb and 1/3 lb...I usually "wimp out" and get the 1/3 lb size and a half pound of meat is just to much for me. The Beamer comes with just about everything but the kitchen sink on it: bacon, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, cheese, yada, yada, yada. The thing is almost too big to pick up and chomp down on, but do your best and make sure there are lots of napkins nearby! Also, I'm a sucker for a good tot, and P&B makes some really rosk star tater tots. Not sure exactly how they do it, but they are never greasy and super-crisp...jusr perfect. Give this place a go, don't let looks fool you, these guys have got it going on in that grill in the back.

Yelp
Always wanted to try this place out, but no menu to be found anywhere. Ordered the wings and they were great. Looking forward to trying more of their food next time and hanging out. Took some menu pics. Enjoy
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Ordered the hot dog special and a dozen wing dings for pickup. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was told they didn't have any wing dings. They didn't call me to let me know before I drove there, nor did they prepare any type of replacement. On Super Bowl Sunday. There were about five total patrons in the bar. Note the hot dog that looks like it was prepared at a gas station three days ago.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Went in for some wings, while food is usually decent, service and food was crap this evening. In a hour my beautiful lady and I were served 1 drink and order taken. After waiting so long and due to prior commitments we asked for our food to go. Our take out order was crap, ordered 12 honey mustard wings and 6 hot. We got 12 wings with 1/2 ounce of honey mustard sauce and 6 wings with no sauce at all. While I don't expect miracles, I do expect what I paid for. Skip this place till they change management and get their spit together.
google avatar

Devin S.

Yelp
It's so cool inside with all of the Halloween decorations! Food was really great! They have my favorite beer on tap (Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale) I highly recommend the shot called " blue suede shoes"!
google avatar

Lynn G.

Yelp
Don't bother unless you're a regular! It's been a few years since we've been here. Stopped for a bite on our way home. Took a little bit to be acknowledged. But we ordered a beer and food. Philly cheesesteak used to be very good; now the steak is very tough and chewy. Husband ordered the burger special; it was so hot that it burned his mouth. Nobody ever stopped to ask if everything was ok, if we'd like another beverage, clear our dirty plates, nothing. Too busy bullshitting with each other and their regulars. The place has really gone downhill and will probably not go back. Too many places with better food and service around to waste your money here.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Seems like a fun place. No doubt a dive bar but that is fine with me. 6pm on a Tuesday and a decent, fun loving crowd. Waiting on the tater tots. That's why I came:) Tots and three egg sandwich was Delicious! Beer selection average and restrooms surprisingly clean! Service at the bar was very slow but I was not in a hurry. I will return.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here. Wanted to help support a local business during the COVID-19 pandemic. We ordered the appetizer sampler (cream cheese jap poppers, Mac and cheese bites, and breaded shrooms), the blt, and a plain cheeseburger, we enjoyed every bite. The staff was super nice and the prices were amazing. We will continue to support.
google avatar

Adolf H.

Yelp
The wings are delicious, also by far the cheapest around! Main reason I wanted to write this review was so I could attach their menu for everyone.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
I found this place through a article about burger places in Cleveland. Sounded good and thought the BF and I could check them out. It's a small neighborhood dive bar, and I wasn't expecting much at first. Our waitress was super nice and very informative. We ended up getting their signature burger, The Beamer, which comes with bacon, mushrooms, grilled onions, lettuce, and tomato. It was delicious. Nothing fancy, just a great flavorful burger. Rest of the menu is pretty standard pub grub, stuffed jalapeños were tasty, and my BF said the wings were great. Decent beer selection. Next time I want a simple, yet tasty burger, I will for sure give this place another go.

Yelp
Was out in Cleveland for a U2 concert and spun the wheel with hotwire, com which brought me to a hotel near the Hopkins airport. Always ask the locals for tips...they suggested this dive bar a couple of miles away. The essence is a good jukebox and some cheap drinks (try 2.50 for a vodka on the rocks) as well as some well worn friendly locals (some very plump ones too). I didn't eat anything at the bar (they do have walleye like so many places around here...Lake Erie has some of the best walleye fishing in the country)...which brought me to check out a Steak and Shake (we don't have them in the northeast) for a late night carb soaker. Lilly white suburban people from the eastern suburbs of Cleveland may find this place a little rough, but it's not all...very friendly place.
google avatar

BM K.

Yelp
This is easily the best dive bar in Western Cuyahoga County and its not even close. The food the beers on draft, the BARTENDERS - Seriously I don't want to write this review because it means my seat at the bar is likely compromised but I have to give them their props. Patty Melt is straight fire!
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
If I can give this place a zero I would. Service was terrible and food was even worse. Never ever again!
google avatar

Nathan B.

Yelp
Post & Beam is a favorite local hangout for good beer and good bar food. The staff is nice and attentive. The bar itself is small, somewhat darkly lit inside but still has charm. It has a good local following of working class people. It gets decorated for the holidays quite nicely. It is known for its decked-out Halloween decorations especially!!! They have great burgers that they're known for and usually have a good rotating stock of draft beers on tap along with a full service bar. It's a great place to meet your friends or to make new ones. Sporting events being televised typically pack them in at this local haunt. It's definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Margaret R.

Yelp
My friend and I ended up here last weekend based on a Yelp listing and a desperate need for some food. The good: reasonably priced, cozy non-trendy atmosphere, and a good jukebox. And tater tots! Oh were they amazing. The bad: the moment we walked in, we got some serious stink-eye from what I can only assume were territorial "regulars" to the point that we considered just turning around. (we are reasonably nice looking ladies and couldn't be perceived as threatening). The ugly: it took nearly one hour for our respective hamburger and grilled cheese sandwiches to arrive, and they were cold and under-melted at that. I am intrigued about the summertime transformation into Tiki Bar, so I'm willing to give it another go.
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
I am kicking myself for not having a camera with me tonight. I was stuck at work much too late tonight. One of my bffs called me on her way home too. We hadn't gotten together to gab in a while so she decided to swing by my office and pick me up for dinner. She had downloaded a coupon for this place, the Post and Beam. We weren't sure what it was like, but I had driven by it before and thought it looked like a tiki bar. That sounds fun for a July night, right? This had to be the strangest place I have ever stepped foot in. First of all, the entrance looked like the backdoor of a loading dock with a scary sign about trespassing or something, a peephole, and a security camera. We were both nervous to go in, but too chicken to admit we were scared of a bar. There were no windows on the outside either, so we had no idea what we were walking into. The patio did look fun, but it was raining, so we had to go indoors. I know I was thinking, "it can't be that scary. There are palm trees on the patio." Scary isn't the right word for what we experienced. It was more...comical. It was indeed a Tiki Bar. A tiki bar named "the Post and Beam." It sort of looks like MIke and Carol Brady decorated their basement bar for a Luau. The walls were even paneled. The place is clean, but it is definitely not the kind of spot we would normally choose to go.
google avatar

Michele D.

Yelp
What a great place! The drinks were inexpensive and the staff was friendly. We ordered Bacardi and Jameson and it was $5.50! Cant beat it. We stumbled upon this place while in search of a bar open on Christmas. The girls were dressed in Christmas attire and It was packed! Had a great time and they have a covered smoking area out in front of the place if you need a cigarette.
google avatar

Dianna T.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. Service is incredibly slow. The menu says it takes up to 20 minutes to get your order filled because everything is made fresh. Unless they have a pasture of cows in the back and are butchering the cows yourself, it shouldn't take 20 minutes to fill a burger order...much less the 45 minutes we waited for our burger order. Plus they ask how you want your burger prepared, which must be a rhetorical question, because they all came EXTREMELY well done. Maybe that's why it took our order 45 minutes, because it was cooking the entire time? Im not sure where the fresh ingredients are coming from, because the fries and onion rings tasted of freezer burn.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this hole in the wall dive. The Post and Beam sponsored my volleyball team for a bunch of seasons so we would frequent here before or after all of our games. Good bar food and great service. The older, most friendly barmaid Donna puts an instant smile on your face. I over time, have developed a crush on her. The layout of this place might seem a little crowded at first, but after a while you all start to feel like family. The ceilings are low and there are post (and beams) out in the open with tables built in between. The bar is on the middle of the room with tables on both sides. The bar is quiet unless there's money in the jukebox in the corner. They decorate outragously for all holidays and seasons. It's hilarious. Because of the setup inside, it can seem overwhelming at first but gives you plenty to look at. It's cute how much pride they put into it. It's always fun to go between holidays and see what's new. Check it out, you'll get a wink from Donna if nothing else.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
What else is there to say about post and beam. This is a true hidden gem. You receive a generous portion of food for the price. The service is great. Drinks are cheap. How can you go wrong with a place that still offers tots.

Alyssa F.

Yelp
Perfect atmosphere. We are from Toledo and spending our first anniversary in Cleveland. After a long day of exploring parks and other attractions, we wanted a nice, low key bar to hit up before going to our hotel for the night. This place is amazing and the staff was very attentive and nice. We even sat down ironically, next to the owners, who gave us a guided tour of the awesome Halloween decor. So jealous that this city has such a cool bar, and wishing we had one back home. Drinks awesome. Atmosphere even better!
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
This is a great hometown bar!!! Hands down best burger in Cleveland!!! Cheap beer and great servers!! Will be back!! Everyone was so nice and with a smile!! This is a place like cheers where they will remember your name

Ed T.

Yelp
This bar is super Duper fantastic. The Halloween decorations theme is the best in Ohio!! The staff is very very very cool and fun.. The food is very very good!! Beer is very cold!! The owner, Sue is a wonderful person and will greet you as you're sitting inside her restaurant. Keep up the good work and we will see you again

Matt C.

Yelp
Went to grab food. Place was very dark inside. Food was really good though and it came out pretty quick. We sat outside but had to go in because no one came outside to serve us.
google avatar

Aime I.

Yelp
The prices are great, and they really go all out with the seasonal decor. It's certainly a neighborhood bar on tie dive-y side, which is something I like. There are no windows, which gives its atmosphere great continuity. I'd give them 5 stars except the service seems to run slow, even though they usually have 3 weekend evening bartenders for a small place. That being said, the short haired lady does constantly patrol the bar checking on people, which is lovely. They have maybe half a dozen televisions but it's in no way a sports bar, and it's certainly not a hipster hangout (too authentic "bar," I guess!). I haven't tried the food so I can't rate that, but it looks and smells good, and the place appears clean.
google avatar

Rob L.

Yelp
It's a great little bar with decent food, but we loved the Halloween set up for the month of October. It's by far the best I have ever seen in a bar it is definitely worth checking out just for that
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Outstanding bar. Great atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly. The bartenders are gorgeous. There is this older lady that works there who is the sweetest old lady I've ever met. The place isn't normally packed like crazy but they definitely do have their busy nights. The music selection is normally 80's and 90's pop and Country. (at least thats all that was played the several times Ive been there.) The last two times, Cher came on twice both times. This was hard to get through but I managed. The music is at a good ambient volume and the overall sound of their sound system in the bar, is very crisp and clean. I highly recommend trying their main burger that's listed in their menu as "The best burger in Cleveland"- Its not only the best burger I've had in Cleveland, but the best burger Ive had in my entire life. No lie. Im a burger man myself and I have had a ton of different burgers from a ton of different restaurants but I have to say this burger at Post and Beam takes the cake. It's big and its a bit messy but just typing about it makes me want to drive over there and get one right now. Take my advice and go there!

Tonya N.

Yelp
Love the food! Staff is great! Disappointing that when the bar is at it's capacity the owner sits by himself at a four top table while the rest of us have to squeeze in... very inconsiderate! He lost a lot of business that night! So in the long run it is his loss because we went to another local bar that has great food and customer service!

Natalie C.

Yelp
Easily one of the best local bars to stop in for food and drinks. Staff are friendly although not always the most tentative since the bar is typically busy. The old jukebox makes the environment that much better. Honestly, it is one of my favorite thing about this bar. Bathrooms are clean although they could use a fresh coat of paint for an updated look. During October, I spend more time in this bar than the rest of the year for the simple fact that they have THE BEST Halloween decorations. Food is delicious and served quickly. To-go orders are always fresh and packed well. Clean local dive bar. Can't ask for much more than that!
google avatar

Scott V.

Yelp
The first thing I noticed about this bar was how dark this place is. You tend to ask yourself that there's probably better dive bars in the area. However, Post & Beam makes up for this with a simple menu, good food and funny regulars to strike up conversations with. The bartender Brandy was a funny entertainer who knows all the regulars and serves her customers well. I ordered pizza, which made at a separate pizza restaurant next door, which was delicious. My only regret is that I came here from out of town to run in the Cleveland Marathon the next day. The next time I come here, I'm going to order a big half pound burger and drink with these regulars.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Have always enjoyed this place. Good food, cheap drinks. Fun, "don't give a damn" kind of atmosphere. One of my favorite bars. When you go, make sure Texas Donna is working, she is a one of a kind fantastic bartender!
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
Must go in for a beer and a burger....specifically the beamer burger...hands down one of the top 5 burgers ever consumed.. awesome bartenders and atmosphere. If you are in cleveland def a must stop.

Pete W.

Yelp
Just a fantastic dive bar, with cheap bear, interesting people, and very good food with a big menu. Just about everything you need in a dive bar. this is not your hiptster type dive, this is a true dive. On a Sat. afternoon at 4PM, a sunny spring day though a bit cold, I went in expecting to see 3 people, it was packed. Dark and closed off to the world is this place, so once inside you will lose track of time -- and your life. It was the elite 8 for the NCAA tourney, and nobody could give a crap about it, I had to ask to have the TV turned to that station. The juke box, for old american standards and classic country is the best I have ever seen. And with the bartenders filling it up and leaving the choices for the crowd to pick, you get Dean Martin, Tom T. Hall, the 4 Tops, and on and on. I was blessed to have found this place for a few hours on a lonely Sat., after leaving, I felt reconnected to the world. Thanks to all the regulars that welcomed me and entertained me that afternoon.
