The Best Restaurants in New York's Rockaways | Bon Appétit

"A mellow, ferry-adjacent setup built from an RV and shipping containers that doubles as a surf shop and lifestyle spot: it sells new and used surfboards, vintage clothing and locally made goods, pours excellent coffee, and offers a nostalgic vinyl selection. With sunny seats that overlook boats around Jamaica Bay, it’s an easy first stop after arriving by ferry." - ByAli Francis

You gotta check out Postcard Brewing. It’s the size of a postcard with matching views. Great if you’re waiting by the ferry, or anytime in the summer.

Chill spot overlooking Jamaica Bay with beautiful sunsets. A few beers on tap and nice selection of cans. I think they have wine as well. No frills all around, friendly service, and steps from the nycferry.

Stopped by this cute little spot for a coffee and pastries. It was lovely!! Right off Jamaica Bay, up the block from the ferry stop. Has super friendly staff and cool vintage vibe. Love it!!

Awesome chill beach-before-the-beach vibe. The owner is so friendly and will make uou whatever you want. They have vinyl records and other fun stuff for sale in the van! Def stop by to/from ferry to grab some refreshment!

Been taking the ferry ⛴ to rockaway for a while. Didn’t realize this place rented boards. I took out an 8’ Stewart and caught a bunch of decent sized waves at 108th. The guys at the shop were super friendly and gave some useful tips to improve my surfing. Might take a surf lesson with them this summer!

Went out of the way to come here twice, both times they were closed. Whoever runs this business needs to figure what they are doing. Either permanently close or keep your hours and Instagram posts accurate. Will not be trying again.

You’ve got to experience this amazing hideaway five minutes from the ferry landing. Like Rockaway itself, this place is funky and fun, down-to-earth with a bit of a grunge or gritty side. Come straight from the beach with your beach chair or stop by for sunset drinks while catching the ferry! Drinks are under $10 and the atmosphere is priceless!!!

Yelp
Nice staff, on the water and a mix of sun and shade, DJ, decent beer, right by the ferry.
