Postino WineCafé Is Poppin’ Bottles in San Diego’s Little Italy and Del Mar | Eater San Diego
"I can sit on a massive patio, uncork a bottle, and munch on bruschetta at Postino WineCafé in Little Italy, located in the Kettner building. The seasonally changing menu centers on bruschetta and charcuterie boards — from the bacon, arugula, and tomato board to warm artichoke spread and mushroom and marscarpone bruschettas — plus vegetable trays, a classic chef’s-choice charcuterie, “table cheese,” soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. The nationwide wine list, hand-picked by advanced sommelier Brent Karlicek and updated often, includes labels cultivated exclusively for in-house use and winemaker collaborations, with about 30 verticals available by the glass; beer on tap features local selections such as Stone Brewing, Modern Times, Bottle Logic, Pizza Port, and Coronado Brewing Company, and there’s an abbreviated classic cocktails list. The Little Italy decor nods to the building’s history as British Motors with a wall of embroidered mechanic name tags, vehicle parts hung as art, and abundant car art, sourced in part from local vintage pickers GoGo Modern, Mid Century Store, and Klassik. Happy hour goes until 5 p.m. daily with $6 glasses of wine and pitchers of beer, and hours are 11 a.m.–11 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m.–midnight Saturdays, and 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Sundays." - Courtney E. Smith
