Yelp
I love Postino no matter where I visit throughout the Phoenix area. I'm so happy we have one near us in Peoria now. I think of it as a sort of a tapas spot with good appetizers and finger food to share, that would be good enough to fill you up as a main course or meal. There are also sandwiches, soups, and salads, plus desserts. They have a great wine and beer list (a great mocktail selection too) and a casual, comfortable atmosphere that makes it nice to hang out or have a party. There's also a full bar that opens out onto the patio so that there is patio bar seating and indoor bar seating. There are sofas, nooks, and crannies, booths and tables all available for seating. I like how it always feels a little dark and cool in here during the day, especially in the summer months. My son, my daughter, and I needed some lunch after errands and thought this would be the perfect spot to grab a bite. We ordered:
- 2 coffees. Our waitress said she would need to brew a fresh pot for us and brought out two steaming mugs with two small pots of creamer for us. Sugar was on the table.
- ZERO PROOF COCKTAIL - THE MOCKINGBIRD - Lyre's Dark Cane, Lyre's Italian Orange, pineapple, almond bitters. I couldn't resist trying one of their delicious zero proof mocktails. I loved this one and so did the kids who also tried a sip. Has a nice orange flavor and a delicious foamy top and preserved cherry.
- BRUSCHETTA - CHOOSE 4 TO BUILD YOUR BOARD:
1. PROSCIUTTO, FIG, MASCARPONE, 2. SMOKED SALMON, PESTO,
3. FRENCH ONION,
4. BURRATA, BACON, ARUGULA, TOMATO to start. I love sharing the Bruschetta board to start at Postino. We enjoyed tasting each bruschetta that is sliced into four pieces and rating which was our favorite. The waitress was very considerate and asked if there were any allergies. After I said I was sensitive to walnuts, she let us know that the salmon bruschetta had walnuts in the pesto and put it on a separate plate so that I wouldn't eat it. The last time I was here at a Yelp event the waiter told me the French Dip Bruschetta was his favorite so I tried it. It is absolutely delicious and it is now my favorite. It's very rich so a little goes a long way. My kids liked the salmon pesto the best and French dip the second best.
- SELECT TWO half TUSCAN TUNA PANINI, half BRUSSELS SPROUT SALAD. The tuna Panini was very good. The tuna had a little spice and flavor to it with pickles. The brussels sprout salad was yummy with fresh sprouts and greens, bacon bits, fruit, and a lemonade vinaigrette. I chose ciabatta for the bread on my sandwich, you can also choose Focaccia.
- NINE IRON PANINI - smoked bacon, chicken, roasted fresh stracciatella, mixed greens, Tomato, dijonnaise. My son ate all of it and said it was good.
- GREEN GARDEN CHICKEN CHOP -
sliced roasted chicken, chopped kale, arugula, mint, basil, cilantro, broccolini, cauliflower, parmesan, pistachio, grains, date, heritage lemon champagne vinaigrette. My daughter ordered this and approved. She ate the whole large bowl.
There are several gender-neutral restrooms in the back for customers. There's lots of parking out front in a private lot for this and two other restaurants near the baseball stadium. The service was great and friendly here. We had multiple people checking on us throughout the meal.
