Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings - Austin - The Infatuation

"The Arizona-based wine bar first expanded to Austin last year, with a location next to Paperboy on South Lamar. Now, they’ve added a second location near 35th and MoPac with a similar menu of small plates, snacks, cheese and charcuterie boards, and, of course, wine." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

Party of 4 for dinner. 40 minute wait for a Monday night because we did not make reservations. We did the bruschetta and a bottle of wine special. We ordered the meatballs and goat cheese, Nicks Board, meat skewers, hot donut dots, and the brownie. We could have passed on the brownie. Otherwise, all was good. Service was great! Restroom and entire dining area was clean and well maintained.

Google
First time here and I was drawn in by the Prosciutto & Brie Panini Pick Two option and the Crispy Cauliflower I saw online. I ordered both along with the Caesar salad, Potato & leak soup of the moment & Cucumber Honey Lemonade and loved every single bit of aaalll of it! If I had to nitpick and give one critique… I wanted the Caesar dressing to have more punch from either garlic or anchovies. Otherwise, I the flavors, portions, combinations, cook, thoughtfulness put into every item was perfection. (Note: Entrance is located directly across from Bakuden Ramen - GPS took me to the backside of the restaurant.)

I’ve been to the other postinos location at san antonio and loved my experience so I decided to bring a friend tonight. Sad to say Alicia gave us bad/mediocre service. I came as a walk in and I could see there probably weren’t many servers on the floor but i regretted not going to the bar. She was lovely at first but i noticed when she received new tables she completely forgot about us. As you can see in my picture we hadn’t received water for over an HOUR and on top of that we had to ask another kind man to get it. A group of her friends walked in and I noticed she was very quick to take them to the beautiful couch and give them waters and drinks. Once my friend asked for her waters she straight up ignored us. I saw her rotating to her other tables frequently so I knew she was able to tend to us. At about 11:30 my male friend came to join us and she again immediately gave only him a water and wine before she asked us if we needed anything, this was before we had received out first water. I understand we look young but we ordered food and were expecting a better experience, maybe next time i’d love to talk to her more!

Ivana P. was incredible server with pristine assistance and good timing! I adored her and enjoyed my dinner too. I brought my friend from Maryland and they also loved the evening at Postinos.

Google
Postino is such a great place! We loved it and Anthony our server made it all the better, super engaging talkative and took great care of us. The manager Raul came to check on us and was super friendly and helpful. Such a personable gentleman and related to us a lot on different topics. They all made the experience amazing. Food was amazing, but Raul exceeded the expectations.

Had an amazing time with my friends! Environment was enjoyable and the food was amazing. Alicia our server was amazing and graceful. The experience was beautiful and enjoyable. Thank you Alicia again for beautiful service!

Google
Nice vibes but idk what the hype is about, its bread with some toppings. If you like wine come here. While drinks one shot is $12 is wild. You can buy some focaccia and some prosciutto grab some olive oil…

Yelp
Alicia was our server and she was just amazing! It was cold outside and she was serving the patio and she let us sit inside and still took us! She took wonderful pics of us that we will forever cherish. Food is incredible and espresso martini tower is a MUST. definitely coming back and definitely asking for Alicia again!

Holly W.

Yelp
Alicia gave amazing service, would 100% ask for her again. Gave great recommendations and was so sweet. The food was great and delivered in a timely manner. I will definitely be returning and asking for her or josh as my server

Yelp
Our server was just awesome. Feross was so professional and a terrific server. We eat out a lot, but we never had service like we received from Feross. Food was awesome also.

Yelp
Postino WineCafe at The Rim: A Decent Affair, But Where's the Waiter? When you wait on the waiter, you become the waiter waiting on the waiter. Postino, you're like that objectively attractive but utterly unreliable friend. My Wednesday night visit found the place busy, but not excessively so for a mid-week jaunt. A good, energetic hum. For the main event, we had the Cabernet Sauvignon and the skewers, both of which were excellent. Definitely, something to write home about! However, the signature bruschetta board was just okay. It did the job, but it wasn't a "knock your socks off kinda wow." A disappointing reality after such promising wine and skewers. The Real Drama: Service Here's where the four stars feel generous. The service was subpar. Almost absent. Our server seemingly mastered the art of camouflage. I'm not asking for constant hovering, but getting almost any service felt like negotiating a minor treaty. We sat down at the table which was dirty and the appetizer plates showed its ugly little face as one served dirty and one clean. When we finished our food and after a duration that could reasonably be considered a short film we finally had a server stop to ask how our food was. The answer was, almost gone. The Takeaway Postino, you have a lovely patio and excellent wine/skewers and lovely outdoor heaters. You're a solid C+ student in the San Antonio dining class. The atmosphere gets five stars, the service gets a stern talking-to but definitely not a "go stand in the corner" because they are already there instead of delivering the backed up drinks waiting at the bar. I recommend it for wine and a low-stakes evening, provided you have excellent patience. I'll bring a flag with my order written on it next time, just in case.

Yelp
Starts in here for a glass of wine after the movie. We still prefer the one on Broadway, but this night was actually really good for this particular restaurant. It was not super crowded, but everyone here is very friendly. I dig the relaxed atmosphere and the food is great!

Yelp
A board and a bottle of wine for $25 count me in! We love going to Postino's on Mondays and Tuesday nights just to catch this amazing special. I also had to try the OMG grilled cheese and it did not disappoint. It wasn't super busy this night, so service was quick and friendly. Loved the intimate vibe with the dimmed lights.

Yelp
Ordered delivery, it was fast and the food arrived still warm. Everything was packaged beautifully, they are very well prepared to do delivery orders, just look how nice that bruschetta looks!! My only critique is that the clear/black containers are so hard to open maybe it's just me though! Everything here was 5 stars, this food was so good it made me question if my other 5 star reviews at other restaurants even deserved those full 5 stars. Bruschetta Board: Burrata Bacon Argula, Pepper Jam Goat Cheese, Brie Apple Fig, Mushroom & Mascarpone. They were all delicious and flavorful but the Pepper Jam Goat Cheese was by far the star of the show. OMG Grilled Cheese: so flavorful, every bite is perfect. The pickles are so good too, I almost tossed them to the side thinking they were the normal dill garnish pickles you usually get with a sandwich but nope these were delicious. Roasted Mushroom Fondue: At first look it seems very liquidy and oily... however a quick stir and it looks delicious. The amount of flavor in that fondue is absolutely amazing, and it has a nice spice to it. It only comes with 3 pieces of (delicious) bread and that is no match for the amount of fondue you get so maybe order more bread if you need it.

Yelp
Another yummy lunch! A hummus board with a chicken Caesar salad! It hit the spot. Let's not forget about the glass of white

Yelp
Loved, loved, loved this place! Came here for a work lunch and was absolutely impressed!! As we mentioned to our waiter - the outside looks a little unassuming but you walk into a really cool space with great decor and a fantastic menu! They have lots of fun, different bruschetta boards, cheese boards - we selected the smoked salmon board which was fresh and delicious!! I also enjoyed the burrata which was so good! Served with seasonal vegetables! They have some great happy hour specials with boards and discount beers and wines so I will definitely be bald to explore that !!

Yelp
Every time I'm here it hits just right. Happy hour prices are the best. Come check this place out for a chill afternoon.

Yelp
The OMG grilled cheese was OMG delicious! Not too big and not too small, this grilled cheese sandwich with a twist totally hit the spot. Who would have known, adding a little bit of bacon on the inside would deliver such a flavor punch. Dipping the sandwich into the tomato soup brought back childhood memories. Aside from the great food, I must also compliment the fantastic service. Our server was attentive, personable, and made recommendations that hit the spot. I highly recommend this place for a chill vibe and some good eats.

Yelp
Postino has amazing small bites and increble wine that match perfectly. ($6 happy hour) Bruschetta was my favorite or all of them to be exact.

Yelp
My friends and I planned a happy hour Monday at Aldo's but forgot they are closed on Mondays. So last minute we went to Postinos in the Rim and lastly surprised we could get a table no problem. Great wine selections by the glass or bottle. Appetizers are good and shareable.

Yelp
This place is awesome for anyone who enjoys wine and crafted food to pair with it. I love customizing the bruschetta boards and adding some other appetizers to make a meal. The ambiance and décor at this location is fun with great seating combinations perfect for socializing. The service is always great as well with plenty of staff on hand to keep the food and wine flowing.

Yelp
The menu and a birthday enticed us to visit the restaurant recently for drinks, snacks, and dinner. The wait staff was amazing. We ordered the beef and chicken skewers which were great! We added a sausage, pimiento cheese, and pretzel tray, which was very nice. Last we ordered the dipping donut dessert...yum! Interesting decor!

Yelp
Our first night in San Antonio and we were looking for a cool new spot to try and we landed on Postino. Now I'm just sad we're leaving since there's no Postino in Vegas! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a bustling ambiance and were immediately brought over to a table. It was pretty busy for a Monday night, so be sure to make a reservation beforehand. Our server, Grace, was so lovely! She was super kind and explained the menu and checked up on us several times. We got a bunch of stuff to share, but the standouts were the Bruschetta Board and the Crispy Cauliflower. The Bruschetta Board is such a great idea, and each one we tried was unique and tasted amazing. For our 4 choices we got the French Onion, Warm Artichoke, Smoked Salmon and the chefs selection which was Beets Cheese with candied Pecans. Wow. I was obsessed!! The beets were my personal favorite, but we each enjoyed all of them. And they cut it up for the table which was such a good touch. The Crispy Cauliflower was outstanding. It was loaded with sauce underneath and the cauliflower was warm and soft as you cut through it. Really delicious! They also had a great variety of lemonade "mocktails" which was nice to see. I opted for the Blackberry Smash, which I believe was a blackberry arnold palmer. It wasn't too sweet and was super refreshing! Overall, our experience was amazing thanks to the out of this world food and consistent service. Next time we're in Texas, we're definitely coming back!

Yelp
Went to lunch for a combined birthday get together with friends. A lot of us had been traveling so it was nice to catch up after a month of not seeing each other. I picked this spot because of the ambiance and variety of finger food with drinks. I've been here & the Broadway location before but it's been awhile since I've been back. I made a reservation for 5 people and wanted a table with a view so the greeter asked if it was okay if she sat us on the orange sofas and I said "Sure!" It was a perfect spot for us with the soft cushions, semi-circle sectional by the windows and with 2 extra bulky fabric chairs where we ended up putting the presents. It started raining then pouring rain when my friends arrived so some were a little wet but we made the best of it. Luckily we were there for awhile and the sun came out and cleared up with only a slight drizzle by the time we left. I was greeted by Josua who gave me the menus and I asked about the $6 wine glass before 5pm price listed. I wanted to try the Sparkling Wines and asked about what was dry between the top 3 Sparkling Wines listed? He let me try 2 first(Vicenza and Perelada), then the Sparkling Rosé which tasted savory to me. The Vicenza was very dry and the Brut was just okay. I asked if he had anything sweeter by the time my friends arrived and he pointed out the Moscato so I chose that. My friends wanted to sample a couple of wines but they were out of the wine with the Mother Block with Orange notes. My other friend asked for another wine but they were out of it as well. She ordered a cocktail. The other ones ended up with a Riesling and one with a Moscato. The other ordered a Cucumber Honey Lemonade. While we were tasting, Josua asked if we were ordering food so we quickly decided on 2 Bruschetta Boards and a Charcuterie Board. We ordered Smoked Salmon & Pesto; Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil; Burrata, Bacon, Arugula & Tomato; Prosciutto, Fig & Mascarpone; Warm Artichoke Spread; Mushroom & Mascarpone. In both boards we added a Chef's Choice which had Lox/Capers/Pickled Onions on one and the other had Bacon/Tomatoes/Artichoke Hearts(?). The Charcuterie Board had Prosciutto, Spanish Chorizo, Salami, Whipped Feta, I think Manchego Cheese, Kalamata & Green Olives, Almond Hummus, Charred Artichokes, Red & Yellow Sweet Peppers, Lavash Bread and some Crostini Bread. There were Spicy Almonds as well. My friends loved the finger food vs. eating a huge entree and it was very enjoyable. For our bday dessert, they brought out 6 donut holes with a candle on the side & served with 3 different dipping sauces: Chocolate, Simple Syrup & Caramel. That was cute. The donuts were fine as is but the dark chocolate sauce was thick and yummy as well! More people came in surprisingly and the place was busy for a Thursday, I guess because of the upcoming 3-day July 4th weekend. My only suggestion would be to serve taller glasses of iced water as it's a hot, humid summer and I was thirsty esp. drinking the wine. It's good to hydrate and I had to ask for water refills. I'd like to try some of the other red wines and other Boards the next time I visit.

Yelp
$6 glasses of wine during happy hour, 7 days a week? Please - I'll be here every day. This is the place you go for date night or with your girls. The different food boards are fun, and their salads are delicious. I'd love to try more food items on the menu, but again, the $6 wine during HH seems to be enough to get me through the door. My only complaint is the last time we were here there were tons of flies around us and my wine essentially became a fruit fly graveyard. We were seated indoors in the back corner, so not sure if other areas of the restaurant experienced this same problem.
google avatar

Vanessa F.

Yelp
The food was so delicious!!!! It's very much a cool little hang out to meet up with your girls or even a not- so- formal business meeting. The vibe was very cool. It's a wine bar with sooo much to choose from. The staff was very friendly from the moment we walked in.

Yelp
Today, I ordered my usual: a board and some cucumber honey lemonade. It delivered as always. What was a bit disappointing, was the service. Every single time the waiter came to the table to ask if I needed anything, he would stop at every other table as well, because he was "doing his rounds". That's all fine and dandy, but after a while of continuous waiting, it became annoying. Nonetheless, Postino's will always get my business. Prices are good, nice vibes, and the wine is amazing!

Yelp
As hard as it seems to believe, it was already time for another of my monthly retiree luncheons. I'm not sure I ever revealed that I am the coordinator for my elementary school group. Twelve of us had planned on meeting in New Braunfels at a particular restaurant but they would not work with me on a reservation. I was told we could have two tables in different dining rooms or a two hour wait for a table for twelve. They wouldn't even allow a reservation for twelve and actually told me to call and check the waitlist before leaving my house. Then, I could call everyone and tell them what time to arrive. I think not! I polled our group, and we opted on finding another place. Luckily, I found Postino. We were seated at a large table in a semi-private area of the restaurant. At first, I thought the music was a bit loud, but after a few minutes, I didn't even notice the music. The room was bright and cheery with an awesome chandelier above our heads and huge pieces of matching art on the back wall, which the server told us was from a circus. Let's talk about our server, Sebastian. He was great. He was able to answer any question we threw at him and got all of our orders correct. He was friendly and really seemed to want us to enjoy ourselves. I will add one thing, although it is probably totally inappropriate. Sebastian was one of the best looking humans I have ever seen in person. I mean this dude had movie star good looks. Nothing in his behavior or attitude indicated that he was aware of it, but several of the people at the table commented on his good looks. Everyone at the table was impressed with their food. It all looked super appealing and delicious. I had the soup of the day, which was an Italian style navy bean and sausage. It was really good. I wish I could have eaten it with a crusty loaf of bread. I also had the chopped chicken salad. It was truly amazing. All the different greens were chopped to the point of being indistinguishable. But, the fresh flavors of each of them came shining through with each bite. The dressing was really light and did not disguise anything. The salad was a definite party for the tastebuds. I tried the olive oil cake for dessert. It was really good, but not as good as my mother used to make. They gave me two big pieces on the plate. I ate one and passed the second around for others to taste. I'm not real big on taking things home- especially when I wasn't really supposed to be eating them. Oh... One more thing I want to mention. Since I am new to the "non-alcoholic" scene because of my diabetic medications, I always check for non-alcoholic wines, beers, or cocktails. This establishment has one of each. I was very pleased with the non-alcoholic IPA they had available. I actually had two. The new brews are crafted really well and are hard to tell from fully alcoholic ones.

Yelp
Keegan did a great job as a server! We will definitely come back again for the bruschetta/wine combo!

Yelp
Great location and outdoor seating. Service was prompt and just the right level of engagement. The menu is very interesting, I was a bit stand-offish at first but I was reformed quickly! This place is Millennial meets Italy and thats a compliment from a GenX'r. Its a great place to relax and enjoy some wine and snack after a Long day shopping!

Yelp
We had a very chill Friday evening at postino in candlelight. The girls and I ordered apps on apps. Everything we ordered was good!! Order a bottle and have a girls night it's just the spot.

Yelp
Great location, good ambiance. The restaurant's main weakness is lack of quality food. They originally offered great dishes but eventually shrunk to finger foods. The wine collections are not that good either. It's a great place to meet with friends but lack quality in terms of food or wine. Staff are nice and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Ali was great! Friendly and great service definitely will be back! Enjoy the bruschetta and the wine.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Service was friendly and bubbly. The drinks were delicious and the ambiance of the whole place is definitely something I'd go back to.

Yelp
The food, service, ambiance was superb. We go there again. Awesome thanks for letting me share.

Yelp
I totally get the hype around this place! I was visiting from the DMV, and since our Airbnb was just down the street, we decided to stop by an hour before closing. Despite the late hour, the staff welcomed us with smiles, and we were seated right away. We ordered drinks and got to enjoy some truly incredible food. The prosciutto and brie was an absolute standout--I'm a big fan of this combo and they nailed it, easily a 10/10. The Caesar salad was perfectly crisp and fresh. The ambiance is lovely too--dim lighting, great atmosphere, and their wine list is both exclusive and impressive. This would be an ideal spot for a first date or a casual meet-up with friends. I'm already planning to return for their brunch next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Postino will get a good review from me everytime - what I like about this location is that they do have a little semi private area for large parties/groups. Definitely give their wine menu a peruse and don't leave without trying their famous boards! Get the French Onion - you will NOT regret it!!
google avatar

Yelp
Mondays and Tuesdays are my go-to nights at Postino The Rim. They've got a deal called Bring the Crew to Board + Bottle, you get a bruschetta board and a bottle of wine for $25. The hostess lets you pick your seat if it's not busy, which I very much appreciate . Inside, the place has a dark, cozy vibe that feels special without overdoing it. My favorite wine there is Perfekt Riesling, sweet, but not overly sugary.
google avatar

Rachael B.

Yelp
Vibey spot for a drink and app at the bar. Love the bartenders. Jona is a viiiiiibe. I enjoyed the meatball app. Not sure the specials but I'd go again for the bar vibes.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and everything was really well priced. Our waitress Hattie was the best -- super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We made a reservation for Sunday at 11:30 AM. It wasn't busy, and we were greeted right away. The host was friendly, and we were seated quickly. The restaurant had lots of colorful, decorative art on the walls, which added to the atmosphere. Our server was great--super friendly and easy to talk to. He even shared that he was planning a cruise, though I can't remember his name. Ross? Super chill, had excellent recommendations and was very knowledgeable. For drinks, my wife ordered the white peach bellini. It wasn't overly sweet--just a nice balance of flavors with prosecco and peach purée. I went for the Real Ale IPA, and they had $6 pitchers on Sundays, which worked out to about three pints--definitely a better deal than the bottled beers, which were mostly $7. They had a good selection of draft beers available for the $6 pitcher deal, maybe 7 or 8 options, if not more. For food, we ordered the Tuscan Grilled Tuna Sandwich with a side of romaine, the Italian Beef Panini with potato soup and tater tots, and the Beef and Chicken Skewers. The Tuscan Tuna Sandwich had pickles and tasted like a more refined, "grown-up" version of a classic tuna sandwich--warm, flavorful, and not too fishy. The Italian Beef was tender and juicy, served with au jus that wasn't overly salty, making it perfect for dipping. The skewers were well-seasoned and moist, not dry at all. They came with a Greek yogurt sauce that was fresh, tangy, and creamy, with hints of dill--an excellent pairing. The tater tots were next-level--super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not greasy. They came with a sauce that had a little spice to it, adding a nice kick. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the music wasn't too loud. We'll definitely be back--next time, we're trying the bruschetta!

Yelp
Amazing ambiance for girls' night, afternoon lunch, or a cute date night I'm usually a sparkling rosé gal, but their craft cocktails are also great options. Don't even get me started on the Fig,Apple,Brie bread!!! Divine!!

Yelp
I give this place a 5 star! For a Saturday night and a concert going on across the street a table of 5 was well taken care of. The food was really good and filling. Had a great night sitting outside with the family and it was bday too had the donut balls with a choice of 3 dips(chocolate, caramel and vanilla) certainly will dine there again.
google avatar

Troy L.

Yelp
We decided to swing by today while we had a bit of time to kill. We lucked out and hit Happy Hour with $6 wine glasses! All four wines that we tried were excellent! For a snack we ordered a bruschetta board with four different options. They were all incredible but the stand out was the pepper jam and goat cheese. It had just a bit of heat to offset the goat cheese and was absolutely perfect to pair with the wine. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Dorris T.

Yelp
Great service and the food was really good. Went there with my daughter and granddaughter. We ordered the hummus and it was really delicious. Their ice tea was so refreshing and had a really good flavor to it. We ordered the humus for an app and then shared the chicken pesto sandwich. The kids meal was just adorable. Best looking kids meal I have ever seen. So packed with goodness. The chicken sandwich was also really really good. The service again was amazing. They kept us full with ice tea and always asking us how things were and if we needed anything. Great service.

Yelp
We live in Arizona and were excited to try this location. Totally disappointed in the bar service, Blake W was an absolutely horrible server. He never once asked if we wanted water nor did he once ask if everything was okay. He made himself totally unavailable and then we had to ask someone to get him so we could pay. He doesn't belong in the service industry. And the last thing I'll say is there were on 8 people at the bar. The two things he couldn't ruin were the food and the ambiance! The food is exactly the same as in Phoenix, outstanding. The place is huge and it's absolutely beautiful. I will always love the Postino in Phoenix because it was the first one and it actually was a post office. I would have given a five star rating if it weren't for Blake.
google avatar

Yelp
Really great service and food! Ordered what the waiter suggested and it was an incredible platter.

Yelp
This was the first time I had eaten at the Postino at the Rim. They didn't disappoint me. I got the Bruschetta board. It was worth the $18. The Mexican street corn is my favorite one. They also have a chef's choice option. It's different every time. I also got a small pitcher of beer for only $11. It's equivalent to about three pints of beer. That's good value for the money. A pint by itself is $7. I received very good customer service from the staff. I highly recommend Postino when you are in the Rim area.
google avatar

Marissa L.

Yelp
Hello flavor:) their menu items all so flavorful and delicious. I wasn't excited at first to try it but it surprised me. The moscato wine is delicious and their wait staff are very attentive and it's such a beautiful place. I will definitely go again
google avatar

Yelp
This place always has great drinks and the atmosphere is fantastic, but the service is very robotic and non-personally oriented and now the water has taken a turn, you better order a bottle of water because the water they serve you from the tap, literally taste like pond water so we ordered bottled water, the funny thing is we aren't even water snobs it was just that bad

Yelp
The place was super cute has outdoor and indoor seating areas their food and drinks were also a 10/10!

Yelp
We had such an amazing date night here, the feel was so intimate and lovely. Hattie was literally the best. She catered to our every need and made such amazing recommendations. She needs to be who any new servers learn from!

Yelp
Stopped in for a casual hangout and as per usual, was not disappointed. We ordered a bruschetta board with all our favorites, everything tasted fresh! Keegan, our server, was attentive, personable, and made our experience memorable. I enjoyed a Malbec and we also scarfed down the warm brownie dessert in about 2 minutes flat. Certainly not our first time in, and won't be our last. Great spot for meeting up with friends, dates, and/or HH with coworkers!
