To have a great sandwich, you have to start with the bread. At Potato Chips Deli, the ciabatta is definitely up to the task - sturdy enough to contain the ingredients without getting soggy, but just soft enough that your teeth don't fight with the bread with every bite.
Potato Chips Deli opened last month for takeout and delivery, with some tables in front outside for dining.
Sandwiches range in price from $12 - $14. The turkey sandwich with roasted turkey breast, tomato, lettuce, havarti, herb aioli and balsamic had the perfect ratio of meat, vegetables and condiments. Unlike the bread over at Bay Cities, the ciabatta here is easy to chew.
The Caprese was loaded with fresh creamy burrata, basil, tomato, oil and vinegar - a refreshing sandwich on a hot summer's day.
I wish that the sandwiches came with a pickle, or better yet, a side of potato chips (like their name might suggest), but I'm always looking for a bigger bang for my buck. If you want to add chips, they do have an extensive selection of Zapp's and Utz's Dirty Potato Chips from which to choose.
Their motto says, "Life is short, have a sandwich!" With sandwiches this good, I'll have more than one.
