Subway and Potbelly Face Layoffs and Closures Amid COVID-19 | Eater

"This sandwich chain has warned investors it may be forced to close around 100 stores and could potentially shutter permanently before the end of the year, according to an SEC filing citing a probable inability to meet current covenant requirements. The company says the pandemic has further strained its financials and left its future uncertain; loyal customers may ultimately lose another familiar quick-serve option — particularly known for its popular cookies — if closures proceed." - Jaya Saxena

How Shake Shack and Sweetgreen Ended Up With Small-Business Loans | Eater

"This multi-location sandwich chain was publicly excoriated for taking substantial PPP loans amid the pandemic; its ability to apply was enabled by the CARES Act adjustment to consider employee counts per physical location, a rule whose origin the chain said was not from its own lobbying." - Caleb Pershan

Shake Shack Returns $10 Million Small Business Loan After Facing Criticism | Eater

"The 470-location sandwich chain obtained two $10 million PPP loans (totaling $20 million), with the funding routed through major lenders such as JPMorgan Chase. The chain’s access to sizable loans exemplified how existing relationships with big banks enabled national operators to secure program funds that many independent restaurants struggled to obtain." - Caleb Pershan

Review: Potbelly NOLA never disappoints! My favorite meal there has to be the lamb chops and pasta - it's always delicious. The pricing is very reasonable, and the meal came out quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. The customer service was excellent. For those looking for the location, it's a block off Claiborne Street on Martin Luther King, right next to Church's Chicken. Always a good time when I visit here!

I have ordered at Potbelly several times since I discovered them about six weeks ago. The first few times I ordered the lunch special was $5. Then it went to $10 which I considered a deal. Today it was $15. I ordered the same as always, 2 piece fried chicken dark meat. When I got home and opened my lunch I had 4 pieces of chicken wings. I do not eat dry meat. So I paid $16.50 for 2 sides. When I called the guy told me I had the wrong place. Then he said, “I’ll drop it right now.” I am not driving another 6 so they can get my order correct. Winces instead of leg quarter is not a mixup.

Google
I just ordered food at this establishment. The owner and chef were exceptionally friendly and professional. The food is not good. I truly understand the growing pains with a new business; however, to have a phone number associated with your business and not answer it during business hours is a disservice to your business. Had they answered the phone, I would have called them to voice my complaints. I ordered Bar B Que chicken, greens and red beans. It took close to 45 minutes for me to get my plate. Because it took so long, I did not look at it before leaving. When I got back to my office with it, I was disappointed. The chicken was cold and tasted like it had been sitting under a heating lamp for hours. The skin was dried and calcified, tough as shoe leather. The red beans had too much black pepper, but the greens were amazing, the only edible thing on the plate.

First time visiting and I was pleasantly surprised with the food. The customer service was amazing as I was welcomed with smiles and a “hello”. The baked leg quarter bbq sauce really stood to me..it was as if there were 3 flavors in one. The Mac and cheese had a hint of spice with some memorable flavors. As of now, it’s my favorite Mac and cheese! They took their time with the green beans as well. The lemonade was refreshing. Also there is a courtyard where you can sit and enjoy nice weather with your girls/man. I definitely recommend and will return!

Yelp
I've never been disappointed by Potbelly in New Orleans! One of my go-to meals is their lamb chops with pasta, which is just fantastic. Not only is the food delicious, but the prices are reasonable too. The service is prompt, making dining here a breeze. If you're trying to find it, it's conveniently located a block off Claiborne Street on Martin Luther King, next to Church's Chicken. Every visit here is a good time, highly recommend!

Yelp
A friend of mine sent me an Instagram post of a guy advertising $5 Leg Quarter Tuesday! I was in town and it was Tuesday. So I went! It's easy to get there, and there was no wait. The price is now $5.99. But you still can't beat that! A leg quarter and 3 sides for $6. They only have outdoor dining. This caused me to eat quick because the flies decided it was dinner time for them too.

Yelp
Black owned and operated. They throw down over here and make great food! I really appreciate the affordable plates because times are hard out here. The service is good and to the point, they get the food out quick. The place is usually very clean and chill, seating because it's basically a grab and go type of place. Everything is delicious, I've been 3 times total and never disappointed, they also don't put ice in the drinks so they don't get watered down. Great spot!

Yelp
I've ordered from here in the past but they got new management since then. they posted on instagram about blackened redfish and sides and things so i come in and order redfish with seafood pasta. I get my food and the fish is fried and there's hair on it. The lady at the register was rude and got an attitude because when i showed her the flyer on instagram she "wasn't looking at the whole thing." She ending up selling my plate to someone else, while they made me the correct order without giving me at least $5 back from the $32 i paid. i honestly would not come back. In the past, potbelly had really good deals and specials but now they've up the prices and lowered the customer service.

Yelp
Bbq chicken special can't be beat. Ribs were a lil dry but the sauce was great. Macaroni was different but good--tasted a lil like nacho cheese and had an interesting spice. Will be back. Worth the trip.

Yelp
New business off of Claiborne food was hot and plentiful you definitely get your money's worth. Staff is very nice. To go only service but they do have a patio area to dine. Food was decent could use more seasoning but the macaroni is on point. Will give it another try in a few weeks once they get settled in.

Yelp
Wednesday, 1/17/24 after Dialysis stop by and order Stuff Bellpeper, Mac and Cheese and Yams. The plate was hot and heavy. Staff were friendly and cool. Everything was GOOD and will go back for the Yaki Main.

Yelp
Saw this new food spot so my daughters and I went the day it opened. We got the bbq chicken, seafood Mac, corn bread, yams, and fried chicken on the side. Everything was seasoned well and had a good taste. The service was great. They offer outside seating which was a really cute vibe. I would recommend!!

Yelp
Food was a 7 out of 10 people are nice just no seating and it takes a while for order to finish.

Sharrell P.

Yelp
I had the lamb chop plate it taste really good. I just wish they had a sauce to go with it. I didn't like the macaroni, but the potatoe salad n yams were great.
